I'm cautiously optimistic with CP3. As mentioned, his injury history is what it is, but this is the best team in terms of culture he's been apart of. I think they'll be able to manage him to the point where he'll be alright. FWIW, and IMO unless Golden State battles with Phoenix, Denver, or the Los Angeles team a non-hoops human being would know of, the Warriors will be okay should Chris get hurt in a road Game 6 up 3-2

Oh great. Now I'm tempted to revisit my notes as it relates to where the runners-up ranked, as well as where the top offensive teams finished in the postseason (as applicable). I don't know why I thought that those Giants teams were better in addition to the Saints in 2009. I guess they upped their game in the most meaningful times of the NFL season!

I don’t want to say Mahomes because that feels too obvious, so my answer is Burrow. By the way, where's Stafford. He actually has as many divisional wins as Allen. Not only did Matt win each of his next two games, he's currently closer to Canton than Josh. Joe Cool is getting into the endzone. For the most part. If he can't, one of two things will help him out. The defense is too good, especially in the second half, and chances are that things will be at the point where getting into the endzone for the win isn't that imperative

I think this might be McDermott's last season with Buffalo. There may be a ton more people than Cowherd saying how football (and sports in general) have trended more toward offense. Basically my post here sorta channels Colin's point as I think I definitely agree with his take from last week. That is a big problem for the Bills. It's comparable to the Steelers. Two great head coaches, but on the wrong side of the ball. The problem is how they struggle with trying to adapt, which could be coupled with them not wanting to be "told what to do" in the NFL. It's the same thing with Belichick as of late. Looks like the Bills didn't do anything to fix their offense or their ground game issues. Similar to how Pittsburgh is doubling & tripling down on their defense to stop the scoring; maybe try to improve offensively. I think it's more probable than not Josh Allen goes down for the year due to wear & tear. Buffalo is not walking over the AFC East like New England did in the past. If Allen follows the footsteps of Cam and Big Ben, then I wouldn't be surprised if the Bills are back to being in 4th place in the AFC East. Such a shame. Finally getting over the GOAT of coaching, but only one divisional win to show for it

I watched everything so it was tough to see Fowler falter. Not a shocker, and no: I'm not going to link it to his painful bogey on his 54th. Even surviving that, the pressure to shave the tag of that best to never win anything was a problem. TBH, it hit Rickie in the back 9 on Saturday. It was a surprise to see him as one of the leaders & in a big way. Too good to be true to follow through; that's why I said he needed another big day in order to close the deal. Rory had his chances but to be fair, Clark could've done more but didn't need to. Shades of St. Andrews for McIlroy. FWIW, he's never won without a 54-hole lead. Like I sorta mentioned, Cameron Smith had yet another Sunday rally; that guy is a major threat if he's ever in contention headed to Sunday. He did in fact catch Fowler after all. Scottie is probably destined to win another one, but he might actually have to be in the lead to do so. He's not perfect but he usually does more to offset his errors. Anyway, I guess I'm fine since everything ended by 10:00 Eastern. Not too bad for a West Coast event
-
Either that or Fowler gave it to him. Plus Rory didn't catch him, but you're not going to see Clark featured in The Open during the final stages

So, when Rickie Fowler finished with a painful bogey to end his third round, I figured that he was done for. However, his behavior, interactions, and interviews probably indicate that he's probably not going to have a meltdown. I think he got a good night's rest without that being on the mind. He's still tied for the lead (first 54-hole lead in a major, shared or outright), so regardless of whether he made that putt or not, he'll still need to crush it to finally break through. Co-leader Wyndham Clark likely isn't going anywhere. I think Kim & Nagano aren't going to pose a threat to Fowler and Clark, nor will Cam Smith and Bryson. While they have the power to make a run, I think the deficit is just enough for the leaders to avoid the scare. English, Xander, and DJ could be in championship contention, but the thing is that the leaders aren't the only people they'd have to catch. If it's neither Rickie nor Wyndham, I think it'll probably be Rory or Scottie for the win. They're one & two back; Rory is due, but what might also hinder him is he could play very well, but then Scheffler might dish out the same thing Cameron did at Saint Andrews last year. I know it's a West Coast event, but there really isn't a reason for the schedule on Sunday to emulate Saturday's schedule. Things could end earlier on this final round, but I honestly think they could've started a couple hours sooner. Yeah, LA would rather not start golf coverage at 8:00 AM local, but no one that's starting off will factor into the winner's circle

Well, help has always been available. Probably easier not to seek it if the consequences for past actions aren't definitive enough. The guy is 3 times the age of a grown adult. He has a right to make the decision not to be better; too bad for him he instead chose to make a bad decision. TBH, .21 is ridiculous, period. For anyone, man or woman. Bob Huggins was making close to 10 Grand a day. People making $1,000 every 24 hours can take an Uber or Lyft all the time (or everyday) if they wanted to. I read a tweet on Saturday about someone "scolding" his readers or whatever he was doing about how it wasn't cool to laugh here. I didn't even see it; laughing never happened nor crossed my mind. I was too disappointed that the coach made the decision to be in this position (after already being in trouble). Not once did I think to laugh; the tweeter was spot on though due to tragic nature of the behavior Bob displayed. I took it as people laughing at Huggins, and not drinking & driving. As mentioned, he's a grown man, and conducted himself in a way that's the opposite of that.

Meh. I do love the struggle when it comes to the US Open. However, not to the point where (all of) the scores are pretty damn high. I don't have a problem because it's a reminder that the course owns the golfers and not the other way around. Having said that, I have enjoyed the decent scoring this week. Plus, we're in a sports world where more scoring is the way to go. As for the coverage, while I have enjoyed it, I'd still give it a C+ for NBC. Could be better, but it isn't
-
Bob Huggins, who was in trouble a month ago, could've used common sense, but I guess doubling down on bad decisions was the way to go

If 36-hole leader Rickie Fowler can successfully attempt to emulate what he did on Thursday, and somewhat the same on Sunday, he should be okay should the USGA toughen things up. In emulating Day One, I'm not saying that Rickie will need shoot a 62 (though that would help); just don't screw up and maybe get close to that. For what it's worth, Cam Smith is six shots back, which is ideal for the 2022 Open winner with 36 holes to play. However, it might not matter since it could be difficult for anyone to make a run. Wyndham Clark is one back at -9, BTW. Xander & Rory are 2 back. In addition to the current 10th place play Cameron Smith, DJ, Scottie, Lee, Bennett, and English are right there with a chance this weekend

I'll have to check to see if Adam did this, but if Roger were the one making the ruling, I'd imagine Ja would be out indefinitely. Still 25 games but he would have to do something, a lot of something to be reinstated. Of course 41 games or a year-long I would not have ruled out since...well, how do you error on the same thing so soon after you were punished in the first place
-
Yeah we'll see how today & the weekend play out. I'm so used to seeing the US Open participants struggle. However, when 2 people (both of whom are (beyond) due for a major title) each reach the new US Open record, then the chances of people struggling may not be there. Though I believe Xander said it's only Day 1. Very smart

On a similar note, roses are red, violets are blue, oranges are orange, and cash is green. Also, Halloween is October 31st, Christmas is December 25th, and Valentines Day is February 14th. In addition, the grass is green, the sky is blue, blood is red, and corn is yellow

Wouldn't be surprised if Michael Malone was the guy here

Pretty much my thoughts when I first saw that on Social Media. I get that the league has moved toward offense. Though not so much in the postseason (at least for 59 minutes & 57-59 seconds). However, "defense wins championships" and that's still a part of sports. I think I would have been okay with the "task" if it said "Build your own offense" as opposed to "Build your perfect team" since there are 3 parts to the NFL. All I need is Mahomes & Henry, and then Waller, Lamb, and Adams would be enough to win. That's assuming I had a decent defense and at least an average O-Line

I hope he's salty too LOL. Speaking of "hoping" for something, I had to laugh a little & needed one (last night was a tough one for me outside of the NBA (I'm fine)). To be specific, I decided to search someone with the keywords "durant denver" and the results didn't disappoint. In fact, the very first result is what came up (exactly how I pictured it)!

Pretty good series despite the rout of the Finals. Happy for Denver, and sad for Miami
-
Well, Herro may be returning (meh); it's better than nothing if he can contribute, but not 3 straight wins just for his presence. Regardless, I think the NBA Florida team has the better shot since their only win was on the road (the other Florida team's only win was a home overtime victory). Whatever happens is out of my hands. Not sure I can say the same about the people officiating the game, but I can bet that whatever happens is in the control of the players, period
-
I'm still not ready to say "series over" since the 2023 East Finals is a part of the story of the Association. However, if I had to bet, I think things will end on Monday. I can also see Miami winning since, unlike someone else in their conference, they're playing until it's over. If they win Game 5, it'll be due to them having to "empty the tank" to survive. At which point, they'll lose 4-2, and at home in Game six as they'll have nothing left. The Heat are talented, but not on a level of the 2016 Cavs. It is a fair point that they played a ton more games than Denver, but it's also a fair point that the Nuggets are much, much better. Even if Herro & Oladipo were available. TBH, I can't wait to see the reasoning on the former; I would've just said day-to-day from the start. Hats off to Denver. Winning both games on the road against a team like the Miami Heat. Given their run, I'd put it 3rd place right now, right behind teams like the 2001 Lakers and another team 16 years later that people may have heard of

To be honest, it probably wasn't easy to get super mad. Mad on a basic level? Sure, but Novak wasn't really (that) close to losing. Maybe the guy will win another four majors before getting beat left & right as father time reigns supreme; FWIW, a Nadal-less French Open is really not that great
-
For the most part, good thing she's gone. Emphasis on "MOST" meaning there would've been one reason to be okay with a win over Muchova. Had she survived, that would have been okay since the follow up would've been a championship double bagel at her expense
-
Well, there's always Friday & Game 4. Might help for Miami to win or else, this goes back to not really being a series, honestly
-
Not sure if all the PGA players will be mad. Happy about the merge. I'd say no. However, these moves are anything but a surprise. I think those that passed on the LIV that didn't hate it while not needing it couldn't care less about this news. I imagine they'll focus on winning on the tour, not who's playing where
