I'm sorry to bring up teams that no one is talking about as we're focused on teams still playing & are 4-5 (or 6,7,8) games away from the title, but it looks like LeBron James Los Angeles & the Lakers have their guy. Though the guy was pimped as probably being able to manage things (GL with that anyway); coming from a great culture. Despite that, changes still need to happen for Darvin Ham in order to better compete in a much, much tougher league

I'll watch to see how much the league and company stop at less than nothing to make sure an icon like Stephen Curry doesn't go through life (or have someone purchase his tombstone) with the tagline of "The Greatest to Never Win the NBA Finals MVP" Of course, in addition to the NBA and whomever "aiding" Number 30 to finally get that postseason honor, the Celtics & Heat have, but not before the latter blew a double-digit lead & not after giving Golden State an additional 48 hours of rest & relaxation

I sorta hope the new owner doesn't. The Commander name isn't great, but I'll take it over their previous name and their one before that. What a waste of time making a big deal over it. However, I'll be fine if there is a switch but it's done in prompt and rather quiet fashion
  4. What probably helped Maryanne was her being a super-nice person, who basically never gets to the end. And if someone does, they'd lose to a person that crushed the social game and/or the strategic game. Mike and Romeo did not do that. Add that to her handle of FTC and never really stabbing anyone in the back, and it was her game to lose. In handle of FTC I mean that she was prepared with her responses, never hesitated, and within her responses, it was full of substance. No BS there. Does that win against the greats in the past? Depends on the past and their games, but it was rather brilliant here

The players and coaches would almost definitely rather just sweep, but the team as a business -- esp Golden State with its sky high ticket prices -- would rather see more home games. That is fair enough. I may not be a fan of it, but I understand (and respect) the business part of it. On a sorta related note, maybe the league should push for a best of NINE. That way, a perfect sweep would have the home team winning in front of its home crowd
  6. Maryanne totally won with FTC, but proceeded to perform as if she didn't just yet. Nice!
  7. boo. I much preferred the live reunions. There was an article recently released that mentioned that. With the way things are, this format probably happens for 43 & 44. Definitely autumn 2022, and I doubt pre 40 returns in spring 2023
  8. Gotcha! Thanks! What Merbearhou said (TY!). Jeff had her clarify for those that though the number was off over the year-long hiatus, but Maryanne pimping the greatness of Sandra & Tony felt unscripted
  9. Yeah right! I love pizza, but at this point, I'd take some lobster, crap, maybe some penne, steak w/ a house salad, and maybe a seabreeze with Pinot Grigio, Miller Lite, and Captain Pepsi!
  10. They probably could've waited 24 hours for the FTC. That way, everyone's clean & they do everything at Fiji
  11. I sorta figured (and feared) that he'd be the one that would wreck perfection. Though to be fair to Mike, I don't think he should've been shutout. He did better than a ton of people that got nothing, plus MIssy Payne
  12. Yeah I miss the live stuff, but the immediate stuff was worth seeing. That's a conversation elsewhere. Meanwhile Maryanne saying the 40th winner = smart!
  13. Happy for Maryanne, but should've been 8-0-0
  14. Yeah, Maryanne pretty much hid more than an idol. Not a second of hesitation. That's the level of perfect preparation for one's live news conference!
  15. Man, Hai is sure letting Romeo have it!
  16. Can't blame Romeo for his fake idol. Mike's like, "That's great man!" which was sorta hilarious. It's not like Romeo has anything to lose at this point
  17. Man, Lindsay is OK, but she clinched the L in the penultimate episode. She wanted Jon out (the whole time), and she failed. That's too bad for her. Jonathan may be smug, but his point is fair enough

Which, IMO, are pathetic. Then the media will talk non-stop on how great it is, so that the winning team (in this case Golden State) can win in front of their fans. To be fair, I think it's more of a league thing than a team thing as a team would rather close things out as soon as possible and not worrying about a ton of games per round (and within the entire postseason)

It shouldn't be that hard to boot him if they wanted to. Maybe be better human beings as opposed to awful people afraid that something would come to light that would force a sale. Plus, what success has Washington had that would crush them for their boot? On a better note, I think: it looks like the Pittsburgh Steelers have finally settled on their new GM in Omar Khan

IIRC, TB12 actually asked to be on the program (EJ OK'd it). This was in the aftermath of Shaq's comments defending Tom's new mega-FOX deal. I guess the interview was no surprise; with A-Rod in addition to Brady, I'm guessing that was the plan to promote the upcoming Match golf show
  21. Yeah that sucked for Pereira; while the margin wasn't that comfortable, it usually holds at the 72nd. At the worst, you lose in the playoff. Instead, a ton of people wasted time talking about a Top 4 full of winless professionals. Nonetheless, JT played some awesome golf throughout especially when you cross off Saturday
  22. Tiger has committed to The Open. That's two months away. Not to sound harsh, but it would not be heroic for him to show up for the US Open. Of course, we'll see how he's feeling when July gets here. IMO, I do see the need for him participating in the US Open, or even the PGA Championship going forward. FWIW, the latter has lost its luster; this year's broadcast feels like a glorified PGA event, down to the level of the Memorial & the Pebble Beach Pro AM (no disrespect to those stops at all BTW). The US Open is the best event if you want to see everybody struggle to the upmost highest. Maybe in the years to come, Woods might play in a decent event between the Masters & the Open. No rust, and not too many events back-to-back
  23. That is a fair point Rickster. For what it's worth, I can't fault TPTB for wanting him on Friday afternoon with a probable chance that he would not be part of the weekend. I can't blame Woods for his Sunday absence. Factoring in what you posted, plus the weather and a possible tweak health wise, what's the point? The good news is that Tiger may have more data to better access where he stands & how long he ought to wait between events. I think if he skipped the Masters or if there's an event where he misses the cut, he'd have had more time to heal. 36 holes vs 72 holes is sorta different.
  24. After three rounds in the PGA Championship, you basically have a Top 5 leaderboard whose accomplishments total 1 PGA win. To be more specific, Mito Pereira leads by 3 strokes (-9). Tied for second (-6) are Zalatoris & Fitzpatrick, who'll be paired with Pereira. Ancer is the only person that has tasted victory. After that features well knows like McIlroy, Watson, & JT, who all struggled on Day 3. I guess it wasn't a shocker that we'd have a new champion with Lefty's withdrawal. In fact, no repeats in terms of major winners with Scottie's early exit. We'll see if people like Morikawa and Koepka can win the next two majors in the order those are played in, but it looks like yet another wait for a career grand slam starting in 2023 and beyond. FWIW, I guess it would be a shocker if Phil played next month at the US Open. Of course, Thomas might find a way to crush it and, along with Collin and Brooks, add to people one major event win away for the career grand slam. Well, if you love seeing people brought to their knees, you received that heads up early; cannot believe the drastic change in the weather! Meanwhile, Tiger Woods? Sigh. Still amazing that he made the cut here. The Masters was one thing (he knows the course). I was actually surprised to see him participate; IMO, I will not be surprised if he doesn't show up at St. Andrews. FYI: 1:00 start time for the final round (just like the 3rd round) on CBS
