Meh. My rooting interests usually hold regardless of injury. That being said, it does suck when someone loses due to that. I'd be more upset if someone lost their HC job for losing a series (esp in Pittsburgh's fashion) due to injury. Plus, a HC with the accomplishments earned since 2016. I nmot a Rangers fan, but New York is (one of) my stomping ground(s). I haven't decided whether I'm rooting for them to win the cup or for them to emulate 2014. To be fair, New York could've won Game 1, and if everything holds, Pens lose at home. To be honest, I think the concern over the aftermath of this series is if Sully got kicked out. Which, until the start of 2022-2023 happens, is still a possibility. It's been 4 opening round exits in a row, PLUS, a new ownership group (people who may want their own guy). When you blow a big series lead & have had early exits, that typically leads to one's termination. However, they were one iota away from a series rout until the injury to top all injuries occurred. If Sully doesn't win 2 cups + if the Pens don't have their postseason streaks intact, then he would've been a goner by now. Pittsburgh can toss Hextall in front of a moving train or bus whenever it fits their business needs. Colleenna & JTMacc99? Sorry for the belated reply. No, I was not on life support (at best) over the series. Actually, I had to turn off everything entertainment to get stuff at work wrapped up, as I'm off starting Friday at the way to Memorial Day. At the end of the day, it is what it is. Pittsburgh wasn't winning the Cup this year, and while you never know, they weren't championship contenders. It would've been nice to see how far they could've gone, but at the same time, I'd rather not see a 2013 ECF beatdown either. Finally, I've lost a couple people rather closely linked to me this year. You never want to see your team in any sport eliminated, but it's still sports. There's always next time, whereas if you're eliminated as a human being, that's it

Plus, Omar sorta has no "sway" with the jury. He can avenge his ouster against MaryAnne or anyone else really. Hai and Drea would say no thanks!

Lindsay has to know there's more to the game than beating Jonathan. And hats off to MaryAnne. Especially if you watch early content, and then 5 seconds later, watch the final segment of the Penultimate episode

I just don't get her "if Jonathan's gone, I'll win." Like, way to have a high opinion of yourself. As for challenges, I'd be MaryAnne in this challenge right now. It takes more than beating Jonathan to even get to the end let alone win it

New York routed Pittsburgh to even the series at 1-1. Still, it's rather painful given the fact that this the 3rd time within a decade the the Pens posted a 3-1 series lead. Naturally, unlike that first time, the Rangers closed things out in 2015 with the same series lead (more on that year later), but the Penguins returned the favor the following year. The good news for Pittsburgh is that they're undefeated in Game Sevens on the road, but the bad news is that New York is (all but) undefeated at home in Game 7s. In 2015, the team that took the honor from the Penguins in terms of the most recent back-to-back champions ended the Rangers stat. TBF, if there was ever proof that PIT would've knocked off Tampa to get to the Cup final vs Chicago, it happened the next year (they were not going to beat the Lightning in 2015 TBH). Who knows what's next, but it ain't easy winning the Stanley Cup, especially when you're without your top 2 goalies, several defensemen, and the best player in the world

Fair enough point re: Drea. For me, it felt like Eliza spilling the beans on Ozzy back 14 years ago. Their fate had been determined. What's different is that Eliza's fate wasn't made official. That's really it in terms of the difference. Not to knock these people, but some past players would have or could have made a massive move against Omar and asked him. That or tell no one, as mentioned I guess Omar wasn't a big threat to where he needed to depart. While I agree about how it wasn't cool for Drea to wreck Omar's plans, I doubt it affects his fate. There's enough within the jury to ruin Omar, and that's with Mike getting there. It was a nice positive segment with great sportsmanship. You don't really see that in "classic" Survivor. BTW, there is no comparison between Plinko and winning survivor. Other than both appear on CBS. Survivor has been won 41 times in over 2 decades, and Plinko hasn't been won in nearly 4 decades. There have been some nice outcomes in that pricing game, but one mistake and that would end one's victorious mark there (even no mistakes and you can falter). In Survivor, you can make a mistake or 2, 3, 4 errors or a dozen and have a much better outcome on Survivor. OTOH, you can have a more favorable Plinko outcome whereas on Survivor you can do well but end up voting for a winner instead. I respect iMonrey's analogy, but I just couldn't disagree anymore. As for Omar playing the idol, I don't know. Unless Mike realizes the lack of effectiveness and goes for it, the fact that Drea did what she did might actually help Omar. They might target one of Linds, Jon, or Romeo instead thinking that he'll play it and the end is close

This makes me sad. Yeah, I’m a hater, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. The media likes to get all “how can you hate this guy he’s so awesome you HAVE to respect his accomplishments”. Mmmmm…no. No, I do not. That’s what’s so great about fandom. It’s irrational and inexplicable. Understood. It's my fault I left out something within my long post above (though I may have hinted toward it). Anyone & Everyone has a right to love or hate whomever for whatever reason, and that includes Brady. To be fair, TB12 isn't putting food on the table of the viewers, and he isn't paying their bills. The last I checked, it's not a crime to dislike this move. I was just saying that it really does not affect me one way or another, and more important: it would have an effect on those in the business (of calling games and/or working for FOX Sports) before other NFL/sports fans and everyone else

While there is the disagreement toward paying someone to do something they have never done before, I agree that he'll do a great job. Not something I would've said 4-5 years ago, but based on his skills and recent personality, I think this isn't so bad after all. In terms of people that are pissed about this: meh. I'm not going to echo what Shaq recently said (or similar comments prior to that) where "one's a hater" if they don't like it. However, I don't hate it because this does not affect me one bit. The only people that have a right to feel upset are those in the business that have actually done it and well enough. Joe Buck doesn't do color, but he's won 2/3 dozen emmy awards I think. So I'd disagree with someone who would call Buck a hater since he has accomplished more in his field of work than Tom has in his. Actually, he hasn't, technically speaking, but Joe would have a case. Still, FOX has a right to spend a ton on whomever they want. If it's at the expense of other people in the field (to where they're losing their jobs or having to take a cut, then I can sympathize. In doing so, it'll be to a much lesser extent if one's down the line, but more if they're close to greatness. Not too much; if you're good at what you do you'll get picked up by someone else. As mentioned, ten years seems too long for Tom to do this. The guy is rather unique and great that he could obtain whatever. For instance, TB12 could own a franchise, crush it in Hollywood (and yes, I think it's when before if in terms of a Hollywood Star on the Walk of Fame), still keep in touch with the NFL, and all of the above. People like MJ, LeBron, Strahan, Bradshaw, and others have done a ton more in and out of their sport, and it's been worth it. If he does very well with FOX, I wouldn't be surprised at all if ESPN gets him in the next decade for 10 years, $100,000,000 because why not? Finally, unlike Romo, looks like Brady will actually do more than call games, which is great. Someone like Collinsworth hustled in his spot, calling games, while providing content during a typical week. Cris adds more to the NFL than Tony does, IMO. If Tom is the face of Fox Sports, then so be it. I typically don't watch for the announcers, but I'll be looking forward to seeing him whenever that is, before I can form an opinion of him in the booth

I may have missed something about Mike breaking the rules. Otherwise he would've been kicked out if he lied to Drea as mentioned by Probst. I agree about him sitting out which goes against his beliefs. OTOH, it could be he sensed an advantage or disadvantage for playing/sitting out. Over the past 5-10 minutes, I had a good laugh and was sad about a missed opportunity tonight: I sorta wished there was a way that Drea could have asked Omar if he (and not Mike) had an idol. That? Would have been a great move!

I don't think they can go back to "old fashioned" Survivor. I'd love for them to look for one in a year that there isn't one; that would make for some great television. It would be fair enough since they have more benefit from past seasons than ever before. However, you have to give some people a chance to survive, especially early in the game where a tribe can throw it in order to boot someone just for dislike. Post merge? It depends. Not all ICs are created equal or fair, and I could go either way

At least your team ended things for TB12 in the league's most important games! He'll find a way. Though I think what we've seen from Tom recently suggests that he could do anything post-NFL. For example, get that WOF star! To be fair, if you ask TPTB at FOX, he's been doing color for 56 years, and his total emmy count exceeds the combined total of Summerall & Buck!

I get that, but that's not an excuse for the teams that played on Tuesday to receive 3 day's rest just because of ratings. I'll come around to respecting travel, but this is odd given that it's not consistent. Turner had hockey for the first time (in at least forever), but whatever. There was no great reason the Tuesday teams needed to be off on Thursday. That would have been TNT, a great night, and rather routine for TNT since that was their spot post NFL

Romeo winning would result in me dying. I'd laugh at how it got to that point to where I'd overdo it. Mike? Meh. Probably not Top Three in the 3 phases of Survivor, while Lindsay, barring a monster run, would pull an upset since I don't know who she'd take that would lose to her outright. Nothing negative or positive, just a glorified meh. Based on everything, I'd root for a Romeo, Mike, and Lindsay final since it's a triple threat of "How did this happen?!"

Pathetic. I'd take Twitter member more seriously than those fans & sportscasters. That's just me; naturally that garbage would've come from Twitter. In other words, I'd take someone that's never seen the game over most everyone else that said that because that lacks common sense. Be better. No one falls toward injury on purpose. I'm not a Simmons fan, but to be fair, I don't know what's up with the guy. I'm not going to come to his defense against his critics since it's fair enough to wonder about his dedication. It's one thing after another, but you just never know what's up with someone.

Ah, good point. I forgot about that. I guess next year it will be mostly AFC. It probably will be, as it would offset an AFC advantage for that conference. Otherwise, I could see it being NFC teams again (save for Jacksonville). The NFC is just a bigger deal when it comes to the NFL. In 2006 there was overdue Turkey Day consolation to the AFC, when Denver and Kansas City played in what may have been an AFC-exclusive spot since they couldn't boot Detroit or Dallas from the holiday. Not a decade later, Thanksgiving was NFC exclusive including the third game. In fact, it happened 2 years in a row, no thanks to flex scheduling
