It's 35-7 at halftime. I don't think Nebraska is coming back from that. No they're not. The Sooners might cover by four times the margin when all is said and done!
-
Upset special. Nebraska for the win (at least ATS). That means the Sooners will escape. That's a prediction, not a spoiler
-
Not a surprise. This is typically the week, the final Saturday before conference play where you'll have real teams playing no one, 70-0, and really the option to do something else before more meaningful action returns

Dilfer exited ESPN over half a decade ago. One of several former people that made the move to FS1 (though several left on their own terms unlike Trent, while it was mutual for a handful of others). In addition, he coached a HS team

It is the line. At least per FanDuel & as of 8:20 EST on 09/16/2022

That's a possibility. It might suck for the winner, but that's what you signed up for. Well, not to wait forever, but the possibility that one might die before getting paid. Sorry to sound morbid, but rules are rules when it comes to tape-to-air. Speaking of Match Game, there were people from the 70s that actually had to wait 2 decades for their compensation. Match Game 79 ended in April with unaired CBS episodes, but then they showed up (on GSN I believe around 20 years later). Didn't think much of it, if at all. The fact is there is the possibility of having to wait for some time, and that's a reason why I wouldn't purchase something you can't afford in a situation where you lost on a gameshow or within competitive reality. As for PYL, I don't think they're saving it for 2042; the ratings increased, so I don't think the show's going anything anytime soon. If all goes well, maybe they rerun some of the best stuff from the start in 2019, before throwing that new episode in. I'd say they could do that during a winter break

I still don't have any issues with my Super Bowl pick. It's a moot point if Herbert is hurt, but at the same time, it was a field bet. I probably could've committed to Tampa Bay since I believe that the goat's final game features him raising another trophy. However, there are issues, which, while they can be addressed, don't add up to being right. Cincy, Buffalo, etc, are more legit picks, so I'd didn't feel like doing a petty pick as had been the case for the past several even seasons. Still a nice start to the Amazon NFL Era!
-
Yeah, that might be a better bet. Looks like NFLN will have it up around 9:30 local time. If this is how Amazon will handle a full slate, though, I hope they don't get the Sunday Ticket contract. For real. Only time will tell. Of course, if it's a nightmare for the Sunday Ticket so be it. I'm pro RedZone (Scott Hanson over Andrew Siciliano)
-
Meh re: Amazon Prime. I'm able to view it OTG (on the go). Sure I'm not going to be able to rewind the original broadcast, but this game will be rerun on NFLN and/or elsewhere. First game here, and there's time for tweaks & adjustments

Time for petty predicting! Chargers at Chiefs. Kansas City favored by 3.5. Over / Under is 52.5 I think the line drop from 4.5 not too long ago as of this post. Info courtesy of FanDuel Chiefs win but LA covers. Over hits for sure. This is not that easy of a pick. Not difficult at all since Mahomes is almost undefeated in September & still hasn't thrown a pick this month. It's at Arrowhead in a short week. Los Angeles did beat then there last year, but that was a rare case where Kansas City had their struggles (with the AFC West Champs losing by 6). Pro Football Reference probably has me covered, but I might look of the point differential in KC games since 2018. If someone doesn't already do it. KC may be a bit pissed, still pissed, but LA, the best SB pick IMO (if being different) was decent last year as an 8th place team, and got better this year. Whatever happens, these two teams should be the cream of the crop in the AFC West. Sorta like Steelers Ravens (but on an offensive POV). Vegas might be that Cincy team, we'll see

First Serena, and now Roger. No surprise for either except just that feeling for a minute as it became official. For me it had become more apparent that Father Time would get to Williams. Not so much with Federer; I figured that he was closer to competing at a championship level, or for another title. That was in terms of physical stuff. Not that much. Maybe the Tiger Woods route where the schedule was limited. For me (again), it felt like the above for Serena, plus better competition, whereas you're seeing some rising stars on the men's side, but for Federer when you have two people running toward 25 in Rafa & Novak with or without competition, it's best to get out and enjoy the aftermath of an awesome career. I'll miss Roger (and Serena of course, don't think I mentioned that). The ability to close the eyes and think back to the past couple of decades is great. End of an era; thank you.
-
Wow that was quick! I guess there's the saying that it's better to be early than to be late. I'm still undecided between Kansas City & LA. I'll have that pick in here later, but I'll wait until the weekend for everything else. Though I might try to get them in on Friday since computer issues on my end have been a pain more often than I'd prefer. It's been the case in the recent past. I plan/hope to rectify that on a more permanent basis ASAP. However, I'd still wait due to last minute changes & one's injury status. I ought to pick Saints/Bucs right now; you're dead on that it's a bad matchup for Tampa. It's a bad match-up for me; since I've been 0-5 since Brady moved down South

That would be a waste of Fallon's talents. Just sayin'. Totally agree that this show definitely warrants a second season!! Yeah it would be. FWIW, what would make it credible would be if he took control and made it his own. Jimmy taking over + the show staying in the current format would taint his career LOL
-
I'll give Strahan a pass. IMO, it's pretty much what Clark did at that point. Similar to Trebek, he just read the answers LOL! It would be great to see him play the game though! Speaking of other hosts, I may be the first to think of this (as being an OK idea), even though Keke is the actual host, the face of the show was Fallon. Whenever Steve Harvey retires from Family Feud, I think we might have a capable replacement on that show in Jimmy. JMO. What also helps is a second season, and I think Password did well & warrants one. Whether that's between the fall and spring season or next summer who knows
-
I haven't seen anything from the show or the network discussing this. I'm going to keep checking; while I don't know what their plans are, the winner of that particular episode will not get paid while it remains unaired. No money and prizes until it airs, and it's pretty possible that it'll air whenever & wherever possible
-
Pretty decent & successful run for first season. It had its moments that led to criticism, but I think this revival was worth it at the end of the day
-
While the Kansas City one from last year was not that cool, the one 8 seasons prior put a nice grin on my face that I'll never forget. Sure one would turn the TV off when things looked hopeless. However, it was a rare case where I wanted to see what was next. What a pleasant surprise that was!
-
It's not even about the money, it's the fact that he's still apart of the association. Say what you will when TPTB would rather not have a player on television that taints their league, with conduct detrimental to an organization. Which is fair enough; this is a team owner, and sure the guy isn't on the TV (as much), but it's a bit of a surprise he's still apart of the NBA

As we're now into Week 2, there are 3 pretty significant things in the aftermath of the first week of NFL football. "I'll be back [tm Arnold]" - TJ Watt {Translation: the 2021 League DPOY's injury is not to serious} No, Jimmy G or Mason Rudolph are not going anywhere, esp not the Big D {Translation: Prescott will be okay; likely no IR for Dak} As for the third thing? It would be disrespectful and messed up to post it here. Nobody deserves to forever be scarred from it. Furthermore, I'd hate to clog up bandwidth & space with it. However, if you have to know, you should find out no later than one week from tomorrow. Sometime between 8:20 and 11 Eastern. You have to have Prime Video, and you have to pay attention to the midfield. Actually, you don't, since it isn't taking much, if any effort. To be honest, if you do not have Prime Video but love Jets football, you don't have to wait that long
-
That does seem low. What might have helped that stated total was the fact there used to be over a half-dozen NL West teams before the mid 90s, including Cincinatti, Atlanta, and Houston
-
2015. Ha! You know, I sorta forgot to do this, but I remember thinking about checking the moneyline everytime Atlanta would have a 10-14 point lead headed into the second half / fourth quarter. I guess Vegas would be smart to take that off the board whenever those situations would show up

JTMacc, I was just coming here to post Manning & reaction! Well, I showed up an hour ago & ended up doing something else! I was flipping between Joe/Troy, Kevin/Kurt, and Peyton/Eli, so I only saw the full reaction this morning. Though while I was on Westwood One, I had the TV on mute & switched from ESPN to ESPN2 for a second. Sorta had to laugh because I saw the stunned, speechless, look of Eli, Shannon, and Peyton. To be honest, I so cannot wait until 2027 for the Superbowl that year. While the reasons will change, including the current one this second, Peyton/Eli superbowl edition would be worth it. Though they might have other plans, and most of those plans might get picked off for Valentine's Day stuff. IMO, ESPN got it right. Having a qualified announcing duo for MNF is great, plus Manningcast, and Westwood One. Might have to tune in 3 times, up to 3 times to get a different perspective. There are decent options. However, I don't care about the guests that much. Nothing against Saquan, McHale, or Sharpe, but sometimes Peyton & Eli gives us what fans think. Just that it's from people that played the game (and won). Anyway, before the video, I was thinking about how a Manning or a Brady, a Mahomes and even Rodgers would never do that Russell did. Sure it's a rookie HC, but all the other ones won this week. You have Russ, and FWIW, he emulated A-Rod for allowing his HC to make the call. ITA; Manning was livid. Then kicking (which was the right choice only after the blunder) is a waste of talent. You paid to get Wilson; do better, Denver
-
I'm not surprised or appalled. Despite what they do, I think it would not have been a big deal if they cheered him to start, before kickoff. Then they boo during the game, which would've been typical and fair game
-
So be it then. Hope they prepared to boo their own during the offseason, because they will be doing that a lot this year. Good thing for consistency; they have done so on several occasions in the past
-
I think what's different between Manning & Wilson is the former was actually released, and while the latter was traded, he sorta wanted to move on from a disaster. Still, I think the booing was unnecessary. On a related note, I think I'll "blame" the NFL for putting Seahawks/Broncos in the first week
