  1. Makes no sense. I would presume that the first thing a prospective employer would do is perform a criminal background check on a new hire.
  2. I wonder WHAT THE RATINGS ARE for this season? Was there a sharp drop in viewership?
  3. Can't pinpoint feeling but believe this was FIRST of Chris' criteria (mentioned in post) among all the others in proposing to Amy.
  4. They had a re-run of this episode last night and although I saw it a few years ago I watched it again. The thing thing that struck me most about Melissa was that she spent so much time crying throughout the years. She also seemed very sad and (as was mentioned ) very down on herself. I thought the state of her home and her physical appearance lent themselves to believing that she may have been clinically depressed and possibly in need of medication to lift her mood. Most people are aware that medications may make a world of difference to someone like Melissa who seemed to be mired in grief and so much sadness. Perhaps this was a subject addressed by her therapist (they always work with psychiatrists to provide medical intervention in cases where medication is warranted). Anyhow, I wonder how melissa is doing now and whether her lie circumstances have improved.
  5. I think this match will never work UNTIL and UNLESS Austin understands and accepts the fact that Jess "runs the show" at home (and away). That is her nature and personality and she apparently is in a highly compensated and respected position. Chances are, she'll do a lot of the financial heavy lifting in the relationship, as well. There are several very long term marriages I know about that work exactly that way. Each accepts and loves the other and each man understands and accepts the fact that the wife "runs the show."
  6. My thoughts entirely! Thank Heavens this nightmare will soon be over so Meka can resume her life without that albatross, Michael, hung around her neck. From what I see in him, NO JOB will ever work out for him and there will ALWAYS be "issues" regarding how he functions at home and in the workplace, so Meka RUNNNNNNNN!!!
  7. They were contractually obligated to fill 2 hrs of airtime so I guess they stuck with what they were given with Ashley. No doubt the production team knew about her MTV appearances and (probably because they're scraping the bottom of the bottom for participants this season) chose to stick with this very troublesome individual who had about as much possibility of succeeding on Dr. Now's program as night turning into day and day turning into night. NOT GREAT ODDS! I was genuinely curious regarding the seemingly upscale house she was occupying that seemed to have new, attractive furniture. Maybe in Texas something like this is more affordable than in many other parts of the Country.
  8. That and her VOICE!! OMG! No words! I noticed the pitch of her voice varies but in all cases it's a verbal cringe! She also looks disheveled most of the time and I attribute that to her incessant drinking (have never seen her without some alcohol in her hand). I wonder (don't know) if her medical condition permits such an excessive use of alcohol.
  9. LOLOLOL....oh, I ASSURE you that I have met MANY A-holes in jail and prison who were slicker, more sophisticated, more devious, more insufferable and more emotionally irritating than zach and it's the ONE VENUE that knows no bounds in acceptance and/or lack of discrimination. I will say, however, that dudes like zach, who come into custody with a long history of thinking they were superior at manipulating and scheming to hurt others come crashing down to earth in the worst environment known to mankind. Some thought they would "take over" the in custody situation and rise above the more "seasoned" con artist inmates. Those are the ones who, in my experience, do the worst. Let's put it this way: Anybody with a compelling sense of personal space and freedom should avoid breaking the law in any way, shape manner or form!!
  10. I worked on the defense side of the criminal justice system for MANY years (retired now) and your assessment of these participants' likely personality disorders is spot on! That neither has yet to intersect with the law (when lying transforms into illegal acts) is interesting. Maybe with Zach's ability to "fast talk" his fitness clients that leads to him being able to make a living, it's a better bet that he could remain above law enforcement; however, with Michael and his job history of bouncing from job to job and fabricating documents, I find it less likely. These types of men (I dealt with many) hatch schemes to make $$$ and they always get caught (at least those I worked with in jail and prison). They also always leave a trail of women with emotionally broken lives (including being wiped out financially) who fell for their "lines." Meka is fortunate that she got this life lesson while filming a reality show so she can extricate herself from Michael without investing any more of her emotional energy (let alone possibly financial resources) than is warranted in 8 weeks (or however long the show is on).
  11. Speaking from over 25 years experience working in the criminal justice system, this monster predator WOULD have presumably been given a LONG sentence; however, in my State (can't speak for other states but have been to enough conferences to say "most states") have designated yards for S.O.'s (sex offenders) so they are not prey for general population inmates. The issue you mentioned would pose a significant security problem to general population inmates, as well as prison staff (officers) if these types of men were not isolated in their own designated yards. That said, it is far from an "easy" level of confinement for these types of inmates and I'm sure I don't have to go into any more detail to explain.
  12. I just read on some Facebook post that Diana declined to participate in any more filming quite a while ago. No reason was given. I guess we can all speculate; however, I'd prefer to believe she simply had enough of camera intrusion into her life rather than a weight gain.
  13. I agree. That's why I think the program developers for the new show "tightened up" the concept to make it more powerful in judging the contestants.
  14. Well, then I think it would be worth a try for Diana. I realize that the follow-up show was done a few years ago so presumably Diana is independently pursuing her life in Washington State with her family. I wonder how she looks and what type of work she is doing. I think I recall them doing 2 follow-up shows with Brittani so maybe there's another with Diana.
  15. If she got one of those powders like what Joan Rivers sold on QVC that many customers said was fabulous, that might help Diana. I think Amazon now has several options in that category.
  16. I saw the re-run last night and that's the thing that stuck with me about Ashley and Daniel's situation. My daughter and her family lives in L.A. and the housing prices are ASTRONOMICAL!! Ashley's family looks financially comfortable but certainly not wealthy. However, I saw NO indication whatsoever that either Ashley and/or Daniel has any employment. I noted that Daniel doesn't (can't) drive so many opportunities for employment in L.A. would be precluded as there is barely any public transportation there. However, I guess he could work from home. I guess we can conclude that there are MANY things that the show excludes in editing.
  17. I watched both new shows and was struck by how many aspects of BOTH were copies of other cooking show competitions: The blind judging from "Beat Bobby Flay," the tasting table on the Burrell show a knock-off from Top Chef, the spinning wheels from GGG, the "monitors" on Guy's show from "Next Iron Chef", teams competing with whole menus from "Next Food Network Star" and I could go on and on. I liked both shows but I preferred the new chefs spotlighted on the Vegas show rather than the established stars on Guy's show whom I've seen innumerable times on the various established shows.
  18. I suffer from IBS-Mixed Type and manage it with a very carefully controlled eating regimen that never varies day after day, week after week, (you get what I'm saying). I do not eat processed food, mostly plant-based food (some sardines and wild salmon), fruits, grains, veggies. IBS is caused by a great sensitivity between your brain and your gut. When you get stressed or anxious, the signal goes right to your gut and the bathroom issues arise. Meditation and deep breathing are my coping strategies as is exercise (stretching) and some cardio and strength training (nothing too excessive) As a coincidence, I lost 100 lbs 15 yrs ago and have kept it off sticking to this type of lifestyle. Also, counselling (therapy) is certainly a big help in trying to cope with difficult life circumstances (that we all encounter). The IBS never had anything to do with my weight loss or gain. A person like Ashley who has sustained such unimaginable childhood trauma needs the persistence, awareness, dedication, motivation and determination to make massive changes in her life to get to a healthy place. I saw NONE of those characteristics in how she handled the opportunity given to her. However, desperation may bring more sustained change.
  19. I completely agree!! I believe the show is "winding down" due to Dr. Now's age and the fact that the quality of the "candidates" has deteriorated significantly over the years (now the litigation bug has also reared its ugly head in a big way). I bet Dr. Now's son's production company is banking as much as possible for future projects or maybe early retirement! I think the show has run its course unless some new WATN episodes reverses the decline this Spring. I think the format for the FOLLOW-UP SHOWS has far more importance and interest than the "exploratory" episodes we're seeing this season.
  20. I recently had my knee replaced and looked into the option of post-surgical rehab centers. My insurance covered it. It would depend on whether Brianne's medicaid insurance covered post op rehab care. I recall the lovely Milla being at a post-surgical rehab center SEVERAL times after her numerous surgeries so I think it's a good bet that Medicaid covers it in certain circumstances. I think it's an excellent suggestion and one that would work for Brianne.
  21. The fact that she makes much more $$$$ than he does might have something to do with her Controlling ways. That type of dynamic works for some couples. Both parties have to agree that one person "runs the show."
  22. Maybe her dental problems did the trick with "decent guys."???? Just kidding!
  23. That was CRINGEWORTHY!! I literally winced and had to FF. What's up with these two???
