  1. I agree, Carolina definitely put up a much better fight than the score indicated. Kam's pick-6 was a major moment, but for the first three quarters the Panthers defense was holding on. I thought the Seahawks showed what they do best, which is to play hard and fast and wear down the other team until they can't hold it anymore and I thought that showed at the end of the game. So happy, though! Also fun to look at: Seismograph measures activity at CenturyLink. Chancellor's pick-6 got a bunch of activity.
  2. Holt: I understand the logic of this game. I tried explaining to a friend why this was so hilarious but Andre Braugher's utterly deadpan delivery is the difference maker.
  3. Yeah, I don't love the Steelers for a couple of reasons and Roethlisberger's alleged sexual assaults are high up on the list. And as much as many Seahawks fans I know don't like the Steelers for Super Bowl XL, I really blame Bill Leavy for that one. He blew multiple calls and while I'm not saying that the Seahawks would have walked away with the W, I am saying that Leavy and his coaching crew were as much a factor in the Steelers win as the Steelers themselves were.
  4. In a total non-shocker, NY Jets officially fire Rex Ryan and John Idzik. Are there any more that we're expecting to get cut? As far as rooting for someone other than my team, if it can't be my Seahawks repeating as champs, (obviously far and away my number one choice) here are some outcomes I would enjoy: I would love to see the Panthers trounce the Cowboys just to watch Skip Bayless' head explode. If not the Seahawks, I would love to see Arizona come back and do it - the beginning of their season was really impressive. Seeing the Panthers go for it would also be fun. Cam Newton seems like an all-around decent guy and the Panthers are getting their game together. All that being said I'm so crossing my fingers that the Seahawks break the streak and do it big this postseason.
  5. It's officially official: Harbaugh is out. I'm thrilled with the outcome for the Seahawks. They scared the bejesus out of me that first half, which I think speaks very well of the Rams defense. Their defense was stingy as Hell and they showed up.
  6. Do you get your hair dyed professionally or do you do it yourself? What colors do you favor and what brands do you like or dislike? I started dying my hair for fun a couple years ago. I wanted a more purple-red tint to my hair but I didn't want it to be overwhelmingly purple-red. I dyed it using Feria but it didn't look like what I wanted so I went to the person who cuts my hair and she did it. It faded out really fast and I wasn't super happy with it. I stuck with my natural brown-black for a couple years and then a friend was training to work at Gene Jaurez so I thought I'd give it another try. Not only did they end up dying my hair black-black instead of a richer shade of dark brown with a red tone, they burnt my scalp trying to fix it. So I ended up going back to my natural color, let my hair chill out from the dying for awhile, and then I tried it at home again. I used the John Freida Precision Foam and I loved it. It works beautifully, I got the exact color I wanted, it made no mess, it was actually designed for darker hair, and it was waaaaaaaaaay cheaper than getting it done in the salon. What about you guys?
  7. I honestly thought that game was going to be closer than it was. Bruce Arians is a terrific coach and has done big things with the Cardinals this year. But the Cardinals defense could't hold the Seahawks enough to where Lindley even had a shot and then Lindley compounded the problem by looking every inch the backup quarterback. His passes were wild and uncontrolled. His receivers couldn't make up for that. And I loved Lynch's run. Beautiful field sense in knowing exactly how to cut in and out to avoid going out of bounds. I'm a happy camper tonight.
  8. Even giving him the benefit of the doubt, I don't think you're wrong enough for your point not to stand. Let's assume that the gesture means 'that's money' as in that's a great play. Well, great plays are the name of the game in the NFL. Everyone in the NFL who was a collegiate player was at least very good to outstanding in college. I feel like Manziel needs to show that he can consistently play at the NFL standard before we start talking about a signature gesture.
  9. Okay, I think y'all know that I'm a Seahawks fan and that win pretty or win ugly I just want to see the Seahawks win. And even I'm not sure that I understand that roughing the quarterback call on Mooney. Perhaps I missed something (I am a football newb and am still learning) but Buck and Aikman were saying something about lowering your head and I'm not sure what would qualify as lowering your head. Also why couldn't Harbaugh challenge or did he choose not to challenge? I have to say, I thought the 9ers played pretty well. Certainly a lot better than they've been playing lately. They came out hard and I was freaking out until that first Seahawks touchdown. But I'm reeeeeeeally happy to see the Seahawks go forward. Next week's game is going to be tense as Hell.
  10. Oh my God, you read my mind! I hate this commercial. That dude looks like he may not have washed his hair in at least a couple of days and I don't care for his Smug Hipster look. Rrrrrrr.
  11. Well I'm a happy camper this Thanksgiving! Looks like the Seahawks defense is showing up again and they had the same score as last week.
  12. Barbie Girl by Aqua. It's really good for workouts. Plus it's catchy like the plague.
  13. I also like Otis Redding's version of Stand By Me better than I like Ben E. King's. I just feels more fun, for lack of a better word. Also I know it's from a movie and I'm probably going to Hell or something, but I like the Commitments version of Mustang Sally better than Wilson Pickett's version. The Commitments version is more rock and I think has a little more swagger to it.
  14. I have to give the Cardinals props. They might be using their backup quarterback, but they're still showing up full-out every time. On a different note, it doesn't look like Juron Brown ever had control of that would-be touchdown. I thought it hit him in the chest, a little low, and he never really got his hands on it, so it was less of a drop and more of am incomplete. But can we talk about the DeSean Shead/Cooper Helfet combo pack? Ouch on Shead getting kicked in the face and ouch on Helfet NOPE-ing Housler to the ground. I wouldn't want to take a hit from any NFL player, but watching Chancellor flying tackle a Cardinal to the ground and Helfet bring Housler down, I feel like the LOB is picking up the momentum it needs.
  15. Oh my God, my people! The Trivago guy freaks me the Hell out. He reminds me of that old guy at the bar hitting on college girls hoping that one of them has some serious daddy issues. And I practically lose my mind every time I see a mascara commercial. Especially the Katy Perry one because I hate Katy Perry, but it drives me nuts that they're allowed to be like LOOK AT WHAT MY MASCARA DOES* *boosted my a metric ton of fake lashes. Yeah your lashes look great because a professional did your makeup a you are wearing a lot of fake lashes. I too can make my lashes look impossibly thick if. wear fakes. Rrrrrgh *rage stroke*
  16. I used a moisturizer with SPF once and I broke out so badly. I find that for me, a mixture of low-end and mid-range products works. I presume the high end products would work if I could afford them. My moisturizer is mid-range (Ren clearcalm replenishing gel cream) and my cleanser is lower-end, but I swear by it (Biore Charcoal Deep Pore Cleanser). I really like Burt's Bees, too. Their dark spot corrector works really, really well and is massively cheaper than Clinique's. On the higher end range of things, I've also fallen in love with the alpha beta peel from Dr. Gross. It does a good job exfoliating without using any grit, which seems to clog up my skin. Edit: OH MY GOD AUTOCORRECT HATES ME.
  17. Bond No. 9 Scent of Peace and Versace Bright Crystal are some of my favorites, but they're way too expensive for everyday. The Marc Jacobs Dot rollerball is my go-to everyday. Also, can we put some sort of trigger lock on Axe? Like, more than two or three sprays and the canister won't spray anymore.
  18. With the cold weather upon us, I thought I would share a magical tip for that a makeup artist friend of mine shared with me. My hands get dry very easily and are generally pretty rough. She told me to wash my hands with an exfoliant once a week, then massage in a body oil (I love Kiehl's) followed by a really thick hand cream (I love the Kiehl's Hand Salve or the Neutrogena Swiss Formula). For extra dry hands, this plus the usual moisturizer and cotton gloves trick before bed makes a huge difference. I was always really skeptical about paying for good moisturizer and I thought that Vaseline/Jergens worked just fine. Since I started using the Kiehl's Creme de Corps, the drugstore stuff just seems really sticky and like it doesn't work. Also, my favorite discovery of recent times is The Makeup Dupe List. It's a great place to find drugstore alternatives to the department store stuff. I found my favorite lipstick on that site.
  19. I live in a cold climate so, as a kid (and an adult) warmth was a necessary consideration. My favorite was the year the temperature dropped near freezing and it was raining. I went as Debbie Armstrong (a famous Olympic skiier from the PacNW.) I got to wear my full ski gear including long johns, waterproof parka, a hat, and super warm gloves. I have never been warmer or drier on Halloween.
  20. That's too bad for the Cardinals. Torn ACL sucks and I hope it's only a season ender, not a career ender. I really thought the Seahawks-Giants game was going to be closer than it was. I don't know if the Giants got worn down or what, but even as a Seahawks fan I know interceptions like that aren't going to fly. But it did get me wondering - why do teams with known weather issues build open air stadiums? CLink is open air and it rains during the winter which seems to be affecting play. How does it snowing not affect play in Lambeau or Ford or any of the other cold weather fields? Is it just a cost thing?
  21. Y'all, I cannot with DirecTV anymore. Their commercials with Rob Lowe just piss me off. Especially the one where there's Rob Lowe and "creepy Rob Lowe." Dude, if the rumors are to be believed, you are creepy Rob Lowe. Also, in general, I'm really sick of commercials trying to get me to purchase their products by insulting me. I am not incomplete with your product and I am not an idiot. In fact I am now actually less inclined to buy your product because I very much do not like being insulted.
  22. The other thing to consider is the quality of the player. I wouldn't be willing to pay for a CBS subscription because their streaming player is awful and inconsistent. Part of the reason I'm willing to pay for Netflix and Amazon Prime and would prefer to watch on Hulu over the individual network sites is that I can actually watch a video without it buffering 10+ times. I guess it's the market forces in action and right now I don't see that the product that CBS is offering matches with the level of expectation in the market.
  23. I have to take a moment to defend my state. The tone of Rachel's segment re: the Washington gun laws was a bit flabbergasted, but having read the text of both proposals, one asks you to vote yes or no on a measure where guns cannot be seized without due process and only federal background checks apply and the other measure says to vote yes or no on whether strict background checks should apply. Having read both, I can see how someone might say that they were for both if they didn't know the exact ins and outs of each law and thought they were actually separate. I'm guessing the drop in voters who favor both measures is in some part that people actually understand what in the heck those two measures actually mean.
  24. I am certain that you are correct and that pisses me off as it's my understanding that the airwaves are publicly owned and leased to cable companies for a stupidly cheap rate and then they jack the prices way up on we, the consumers.I don't see the pay-per-channel for streaming plus a cable bill taking off, though. I can see that working for the more prestige-based networks, but is the market really there for a streaming channel that is half NCIS/CSI/Insert acronym here? Besides, a DVR costs about $15-20 per month on average. So for that price I can record basically whatever I want when I want it. If your show doesn't interest me enough to make it onto my DVR schedule right away and you're going to make it difficult for me to see, then you lose eyeballs and revenue and I can go read a book. It might work in limited capacity but I can't see every network trying it because they need us every bit as much as (if not more than) we need them and if the cost of doing business gets too high I think people will pirate the shows or will start to cut out the non-essentials.
  25. Question: I'm still learning how the whole drafting/trading thing works. Can RG3 ask to be traded or force a trade? It seems like the combination of FedEx Field being a crappy field and Washington's management insisting that he keep playing, he's going to do permanent and irreparable damage sooner or later. Sooner, at this rate. Could he go to another team and would it even make sense, if he could?
