  1. Based on what I've been reading, MM continues to use the following excuses for her baseless opinions bad behavior/claims/anger: 1. "My father died and....." 2. "But what about..." 3. "When Obama/Hilary..." 4. "As a Republican..." As for the first - We have all lost a parent who we loved and sometimes it's been sudden/unexpected and sometimes we know it will come and sometimes we are aware but still not quite prepared. She had a year of knowledge that her father was going to die. I lost my mother and we knew it would arrive sooner than we would like and slowly prepared emotionally. We leaned on each other and talked a lot about her (my mother had Alzheimer's) as we gathered with her. When she finally took her last breath (I was blessed to be holding her with my sister when it happened), I truly felt at peace and in a weird way a sense of happiness for her. I do talk about her or mention her at least once a day but not in a poor me I lost my mother, but in just conversation. And I still cry but it's a momentary sadness because I believe that she is happy where she is. As someone upthread said, we can't fight death, death needs to be accepted because that is a part of life. For the second - Yes, what about the orange guy continually changing his past, his justifications, his lack of civility and respect towards others, his greed, his just awful demeanor. And how can she defend him after what she said at her father's funeral? For the third - You (MM) continually remind us to "get over it, you (I'm assuming Democrats) lost", yet continually bring them up. Why? And finally - How about "As a human being..." Or "Looking at everything that has been said, I think..." (Sorry, I hope I didn't go to off-topic. It's just that she does makes me so mad.)
  2. I think it would have been more interesting to see Sunny's or Ana's DNA results and migration. Plus I agree - MM rude, "Let's get to the American part." For the record I'm more American than she is because my ancestors came from central Mexico (which is part of America just not the United States). And as someone stated that "Americans" comes from somewhere else unless you have indigenous people in your ancestry. As for the church that showed the Nativity scene with current tones, the Catholic Church (in my opinion) sees these things as human issues NOT political ones. The Church has worked with rights for migrant workers in the past, supporting them and even marching with them. The Church has supported working with and helping the homeless, giving food to the poor, etc. Are these considered political? As people of faith (not Catholic or Evangelical or any other label, but of faith and belief) we are called to help and take a stand for people/persons who cannot, we are called to protect the weak. Sometimes that means showing up, speaking out, and even making a display. Sorry for the rant and hope it's not off-topic, but it really bothered me.
  3. Okay - so from what I understand is that Joy was complimenting George H. Bush on his legacy specifically bill(s)/act(s) to protect the environment. And apparently made a hypothetical statement that began with "IF' (IF i only voted on one issue, that would get my vote). Then said something like it's terrible that the orange guy dismantled that specific legacy as well as President Obama's efforts and MM got angry? And began shouting??? That she (MM) cares about more than one issue, but Joy didn't say that. What the hell is wrong with the blond idiot??! SHE didn't want to talk about it?? That Joy was praising 41's efforts to protect our environment and she (MM) didn't like that?? Oh my goodness : - ( Does MM really believe that she is more important with a more important opinion (that she has to read from her blue cards) and that they are more valid than anyone else's?? What a horrible person. I'm sorry, I miss the days when the ladies would disagree without drama or anger or a toddler tantrum that MM brings to the table.
  4. I don't understand Abby or MM. During Abby's explanation did she blurt out that her father has shared confidential government info with her? And do Abby and MM really believe that the orange guy has done more to protect the Ukraine than any other president?? If so, why didn't he comment on what happened in the Ukraine in the past five/six days? Why wait until info about his deals with Russia came out? Plus, I can't believe that during a different topic MM said (NOT the first time) something like, "I don't care about that -" or "I don't find that interesting-" "So I have nothing to say." and proceeded to just sit there with a scowl. This is her job to talk about a variety of topics, and if she has nothing to say, just sit there OR make an innocuous comment or assent. I really like Ana!! I love how she and Joy talk to each other :) I would love to just sit with them and listen to them talk.
  5. I love Joy!! The montage of some of the people she has met through the years was great! I especially liked how she said that the years that have passed seemed longer than 20 years! I'm sorry but MM should be told that the wardrobe department does not like her.
  6. Another show where MM comes out with such an angry face, sits down and changes to scowling face. She seems to come in ready to disagree with anyone about anything! I'm waiting for the day that Whoopie does her usual "Welcome to the View" and suddenly MM will jump up and say, "NO! You're not welcome! You are all mean to me!" I just found it interesting that they thought talking about climate change there would be a real group agreement since it affects EVERYONE (not just the right - not just the left, not just "white" people, not just minorities) and somehow MM made it right/left!! She focused on blaming it on individual PRIVATE citizens and their actions, all the while shrieking, "I believe in climate change." And I loved that Joy said something like, "They're not in office." Plus - (as someone said - I can't remember who, except it wasn't MM!) the orange guy has single-handedly dismantled regulations from the past administration that protected ALL of us from harmful emissions in water and air, as well as protect national lands.
  7. I liked how Londyn nitpicked the judges, too! When she was cooking against Noah, as she cooked the judges said something along the lines of "Oh, she is going to overuse..." "That chili is too powerful to use in ceviche..." And as Noah cooked, they complimented him. So i was glad she won.
  8. Wow, from the moment they came out I could tell that MM was PISSED! More than usual. And while I agree that IT emails are not the same level as Hilary Clinton's, it's the action itself that is being questioned. The whole hypocrisy of this administration is on display. (And this is not the only time!! As Abby pointed out.) Plus I agree with MM (color me shocked!!) that the orange guy using his personal cell phone for government conversations is worse, that was not what they were discussing. Thank you, Wonderwuman73, for sharing your experience with all of us here! I've been to tapings of talk shows and some of them are difficult to hear. I went to The Talk and it is exactly as you said. Very difficult to hear the women talk at the table. The audience has to be really quiet to hear the discussions. Then you go to see Ellen - no problem hearing anything. It might just be the way they are sitting maybe? Also, thank you for confirming my suspicions that MM is not showing a "persona" but her true self!
  9. Oh, My!! I remember JWs coming to our house and my mom (who didn't speak English!) in a loud whisper saying, "HIDE!" My dad on the other hand loved to confront them and tell them why they were wrong. He'd pull out his Bible and have looong talks with them. Sometimes they came back just to talk with him! BTW we are Catholic :) I found the things that the panel shared so sad. I've always felt that a relationship with God is joyous and life giving - not morose and dark which this one seems to be. The things that they endured and not allowed to talk about or even able to defend themselves seemed so the opposite of how I was raised to believe.
  10. I'm sorry - how much more insensitive can Olive be with Ben regarding Danny/Olive? Her, "I meant to tell you..." At no time did she say that she would like to discuss how important Danny is to Olive. Also how much more UNINTERESTED could she be about Cal?? Didn't Cal walk into the kitchen and she just walk by with nothing (or was that Olive?). Then Cal and Ben have a short discussion about his connection to the Bulgarian and hug it out? Why wasn't she there asking, "Wait.. what's going on?" Oh, yeah - she didn't want to know anything after asking Ben to share and she shut him down/out. Plus if she was really concerned about Olive's relationship with her dad, she would talk with her about her dad's feelings and how he is trying to keep her (Olive) happy by not making a big deal about Danny. (I once hurt my dad's feelings when I was young and stupid. My mom sat me down and talked to me about what happened and how I hurt him, not the other way around.)
  11. I thought today's show was kind of "meh" . But to be honest I didn't see it all. I got distracted with laundry :) I was surprised by the topics that were NOT discussed!
  12. I'm kind of glad I didn't watch this week! Just reading about a certain "tribe member" and her behavior makes it a plus. Actually, the show was pre-empted here on Wednesday due to the shooting at the western bar - it had to be eight hours of coverage. Then on Thursday and Friday due to continuous coverage of the fires. Did they discuss any of those two?
  13. RHJunkie, That's what I heard too!!
  14. When they were talking about Saudi Arabia and the atrocities that are going on there, Abby mentioned that when she was young, her family lived in China. She saw first hand what happens to people who disagree with the government. Then added, "A family friend was beaten to death and is now legally blind." What??? Did I miss hear?? She meant to say, "..almost beaten to death."? Michael Fishman seem to have grown up to be well-spoken thoughtful young man. Lisa Goranson (sp?) was articulate and sincere when she spoke (in my opinion). I found the interview interesting and thoughtful. I did check out before Jed got on.
  15. I don't understand Grace's attitude towards Ben when he found a STRANGER in his house - I would have acted the same way if I came home from a weekend away plus had called 911!! How was he supposed to know that someone was in his house looking for something for his daughter?? No one told him! After this episode I think that the shadow that Cal drew last week was Grace's boyfriend. And why doesn't she take a step back and tell Ben that she is confused and needs time to think?? Instead she continues to lie to him (and I think herself!) I think this episode drew me in - I was ready to throw in the towel after last week.
  16. Just a couple of things about today's show: When Abby said that the infrastructure in Puerto Rico was weak to begin with, so they have to assume some responsibility for how awful things turned out. Ummm, WHAT??? Their government (THE UNITED STATES!) knew that Puerto RIco was not equipped to do what needed to be done on the ground by the citizens, help was needed prior to the hurricane and after it, help barely qualified as minimal (IMO) plus lack of communication (ie. clean water left on dock for almost a year? Which resulted in being undrinkable.) made a really bad situation even worse. Why didn't she address the question/topic - That the orange guy denies that almost 3,000 people died due to hurricane (Yes, she did say she felt bad for the families BUT she still defended him by blaming Puerto Rico). When Sunny said that the qualities the orange guy shows are those of a dictator, Abby was insulted that he was being called "Hitler" (Sunny did NOT call him that) and defended his claim about deaths!! That's what it sounded like to me. I do NOT like Abby :(
  17. Oh, my goodness! ^^^ THIS!!! They were talking about how President Obama and Vice-President Biden were having lunch at a deli/cafe(?) and MM goes on a rant about socialism and how will it be paid for?? (And I think that MM secretly believes that she/her family deserve it because of who they are.) That wasn't the topic!! She did this yesterday when they were talking about the orange guy's "campaign" rally (I don't understand why he is STILL campaigning when he won over 18 months ago) and she made it about "the war on Christmas". Plus, Joy isn't making you look to be without compassion, Meghan. You're doing that all by yourself.
  18. I really enjoyed this show!! A great nod to GBBO. The people were just nice - which I think most people are but are encouraged to be sort of douchy on competition shows. They were admiring of each other's work and helpful to each other too! I also enjoyed Nick O. and Amy P. as hosts. I love bad puns!
  19. I was not really impressed/wowed by any of their "pilots". All I can think is that in the past, the contestants actually had to cook and instruct. Now they all visit a restaurant and tell us how something tastes.
  20. I agreed with Leslie Jones regarding comedy. That jokes that were acceptable 15, 20, 30 years ago are not appropriate now and that we can't go into the past and judge with today's standards/norms. An example: I was watching a sitcom a while ago. In it a woman accused her husband of raping her. The cops said a husband can't rape his wife and gave some silly comments about marital sex. Everyone laughed. Today - NOT acceptable. Also: was MM trying to explain how Democrats think?? And what they should do?? She can barely explain the orange guy's base (and she is one of them despite what she says)!
  21. To: MM STOP saying "Trump's America"!!
  22. Regarding "Trump Derangement Syndrome": To me that always sounds as if it refers to the people who condone, continue to defend, refuse to speak out against the orange guy as opposed to someone who does not like the orange guy. I didn't think that Whoopi was completely out of line. It looked to me that JP smirked and pointed to Whoopi and Whoopi was not having it! She explained (granted very loudly!) her view of the guy in the White House. Then asked a question to which JP responded with something along the lines of why does Whoopi always start her comments about the orange guy by referring to remarks he made and she did not answer her (Whoopi's) question.
  23. I always finding it interesting how MM comes out. She seems to always have a frown and look down as she walks in. Today when they were teasing Sunny and Sarah about the "kiki" dance, can you guess who was the only one not smiling/laughing?
  24. Watching this now. I didn't think the first challenge was relevant. I wasn't sure how being able to do a 15 second Instagram would be helpful to someone who wanted to see or learn how to cook something. Watching Giada taste Palak's soup compared to the "visiting judge" who took a big spoonful of it - wow, she really does not want to even gain a half a percentage of a calorie. I guess I never really noticed how she tastes the food in front of her although others have pointed it out much more eloquently. I remember when the contestants really knew how to cook and would do everything possible to do well - Say what you will about Melissa d'Arabian, she had to use chiles in a dish and wasn't sure about how hot they were, she taste tested all of them to figure it out and presented a pretty great dish. And in the past the contestants had to present in front of an audience with dial of doom. Plus had to be able to give tips as they cooked plus "stories" (Hated that they had to do stories and the only thing that they kept). But based on what I've seen - I think I would like Palak because she seems so calm but no way is she going to win. I agree that it is probably going to be Manny or Christian.
