Same. Grace Maternity in Halifax. I'm so old there were no hospitals in Dartmouth at the time :) Where in Dartmouth? We lived in two different places around the Tam O'Shanter Ridge area.
-
Agreed. Didn't like much of it at all. Exactly. Way too much of a character who is so quiet.
-
Agreed, it's really jarring. I'm all for a relaxed environment, especially off duty, but this is over the top. I would have thought "Where fun goes to die" Number One would have brought this up with the Captain or started kicking junior officer butt by now. Also, is there no equivalent of a Coxswain (I'm ex-Canadian military), or Command Master Chief as the Americans would say? I'm sure such a person would have something to say about such levels of informality.
-
As am I. Well Dartmouth, but it's hard enough finding people who know what Halifax is 😁

As a former Canadian soldier I was surprised and very pleased to see the show use the term Remembrance Day. It gets kind of tiring watching shows and reading books about the future with international or even intergalactic crews using nothing but American terminology.

Yes! Exactly. There is no way she should be considered for the position. She is literally the most inexperienced person he could have picked. Any of the regular bridge crew would be a better pick. It was bad enough that Kirk, who just graduated from the Academy, to assume command of Enterprise in the midst of a total disaster but to leave him there afterward? There was no one else in Star Fleet more suitable? I cringe every time I think about this.

I'm just finishing season one and this is a really good show. Looking forward to watching the rest and wondering how they will do a season four ten years later. As a Canadian I've been thrilled at the chance to watch some great shows from Denmark, Norway, Poland, and other places I would never have known about without Netflix and Amazon Prime.

S04.E01: The Gang Deals with Alternate Reality

I'll join the crew that hated this episode. Maybe the schtick would have been ok for 1/4 of the episode, at the very most 1/2. But the whole thing? I hated this episode. I turned it off after 20 minutes the first time and picked it up the next day - just to finish it. I can't believe they wasted 10% of the season on this. -
@Lonesome Rhodes The Warrant Officer might have been representing a higher headquarters (I wasn't watching closely), but he is most definately a lower rank than Blackburn who is a Lieutenant Commander. Clay is not a commisioned officer, he has no commision to resign. Agree that Davis's reaction is over the top. I don't watch the show closely, - the wife does and I'm in the room - but how does a logistics clerk fresh out of basic officer training become this spectacularly competent intelligence officer? I don't understand that.

She was by far the best thing about a great Norton show with a lot of star power. She was lively, funny, and engaging and she did look great in that outfit. I am so jealous of her husband. I'm not familiar with her earlier work so she is new to me but between this show and the first episode of Dr Who I am looking forward to seeing more of her as the Dr.

I hadn't watched Suits until about a month ago when I binged watched the 7 seasons. When you watch these shows back to back to back some things stand out. The above mentioned speed reading ability to look at a folder someone has presented as the answer to a difficult problem and know at a quick glance that it indeed has the answer. Do these people ever sleep or get to use the scads of money they make? It seems they are in the office when it is dark outside more often then when it is light outside. It made me wonder if they are filming in real offices that they use after business hours. They can almost never be happy. The solving of one crises is followed by the next one almost immediately. My memory sucks, I wish I had Mike's. Why all the fuss over Meghan Markle? Yes, she is a pretty young lady - I'm old. But on a show with Scottie, Katrina, Donna, Paula, Claire, and Jenny she's not particularly special other than being the nice girl with the nice guy.
-
You guys are perfectly correct that it was pointless and ridiculous, besides funny. But as a guy do you think I can do anything but cheer loudly to Amanda Schull in that outfit?!?!
-
It was good but "Butt sex only" instantly became my favourite line from her.

It's a syfy show about time travel and a crazy cult that wants to end time, and that takes you out of the story? Yes, their amazing horsemanship, marksmanship and clothes are all pretty silly. But does it matter? I'm eternally great full that the beautiful women on this show keep finding great fitting clothes.
