  1. Perhaps the show didn't want to just name drop, but in a future episode the character will be covered or make an appearance (any one of the missing ones, dead or alive).
  2. This. The nitpicking, the "they could have...", "they should've...", "I want a throwaway line" about so-and-so. Either you enjoyed the two episodes so far or you didn't but nitpicking your way through 40 minutes of screen time after 20 years is a bit ridiculous, IMHO, of course.
  3. Val Verde: A fictional country or city located in Central and South America used by Steven E. de Souza, a writer and producer, when he doesn't want to get entangled in legal or diplomatic problems. Val Verde: A real city in Los Angeles County, zip code 91384. Val Verde is Spanish for green valley. There is a Val Verde County in Texas. Google is my friend. What's my prize, Joe? :D I was thinking of a sleepy coastal town, Saint Olivia-by-the-Sea.
  4. Babalu wrote: (apparently the quote feature didn't work): That's a good speculation and fits in with the unreality of how situations are presented in Pearsonland, i.e., no one but Jack goes to the hospital after the fire. The writers will have overlooked the fact that family members of potential donors and/or recipients are not the ones to deliver the news of a match. Maybe they want to see "Her" for a good old-fashioned Pearson Pep Talk?
  5. Another speech from Rosie? I completely forgot to tune in again! I'll have to watch on my Roku channel that carries Rise. I'm looking forward to more Miss Wolfe and have been fair-warned that Lou is continuing to be, as I call it, insufferable.
  6. I'm pretty much a newbie to this genre of shows, as I never watched FNL, Glee, or any others mentioned. I'm familiar with most of the popular plays, shows and musicals but not SA. I figured the cliched characters were just that from the fact that just about every show nowadays has to have a gay character and with all the publicity in the news about transgender issues that would be thrown in as well. The thing that bothers me the most about this show is Lou, who shouldn't even be directing the theater. Not the way he got the job, anyway. Miss Wolfe rules!
  7. I watched this second episode and rather enjoyed it. Lou's insufferablity was toned down a bit. I really love Rosie Perez as Tracey Wolfe. I liked it when Gwen told Robbie off when he ditched their rehearsal date, I mean, appointment. I like Michael and am happy the guys are cool with him being in the locker room and are accepting him with no bullying or snark. I don't understand why Simon's parents are so adamant about him not being in the play/musical. People like them who are devout Catholics usually defer to their priest. Why are they asking his advice and then ignoring it? Although Spring Awakening apparently deals with adult and sexual issues (I'm not familiar with it) I don't see what is wrong for preparing high school students for what's out there in the world. As long as it isn't gratuitous or salacious or vulgar for the sake of obscenity, I don't understand sheltering kids from the issues that they have to deal with now and in the future.
  8. This is how I feel too. How convenient for the mother, who cheated on her husband with her one-night-stand (supposedly) with Piano Teacher to have her daughter be in his life; that means he's in her life too! I really felt bad for the duped non-bio dad who was the only one left standing with any integrity.
  9. I forgot Rise was on last Tuesday until about 9:30 and decided not to tune in half-way through because I was not in any hurry to see the insufferable Lou again. I'll watch when it's available on my Roku though. No matter, I agree already with everything here! (Not from your neck of the woods though, but you're right about the football even though I'm right behind you in the football knowledge dept. My team moved to L.A. I live in San Diego.)
  10. When no body was ever found before trial, I had a sneaking suspicion that Missing Teen Girl (sorry, forgot her name) was alive, and I was hoping for the best. I thought Piano Teacher would have her tied up somewhere, and when the former partner (who was a hoot, I thought) gave them the Oyster Bay location info, I figured that was where she was stashed. But as the team charged toward the bedroom door, I thought, I'll bet the Teen Girl and Piano Teacher are in there having a tryst! I was excited I got that right!! I thought Vinny was a little creepy, but I felt more sorry for him for having been framed. That twist at the end was a surprise. It goes to show how every father should have a DNA test done (on the sly, of course <wink>) when they "father" a child. I can't believe the mother would let her daughter get lessons from the piano teacher. She's probably the most twisted of them all. (Except for the huge age difference teen/statutory rapey relationship.) I hope Stone learns from this case and stops listening to Liv when she wants to get her way. And, for Pete's sake (pun intended), don't use her as a shoulder to cry on "if he ever needs to talk." My thoughts too. She really made me hate her when she was embarrassed that her dad (the one who raised her and paid for her piano lessons) was in sanitation.
  11. Claire Foy should be paid in line with her success on two seasons of The Crown on future projects, for sure. Matt Smith is under no obligation financially or morally to donate any of his pay to anyone or any legal defense fund or any other organization. He worked for the money he negotiated to be paid and that should be the end of it. It would be nice if Netflix gave Claire a bonus out of their own pockets to make up for the pay disparity, since she did play Queen Elizabeth and did a wonderful job doing so! This is all IMHO.
  12. The pressure for girls who are still growing throughout puberty and trying to find themselves in the world is unrealistic and harmful. Look at all the magazines that show airbrushed, Photoshopped girls and women and this is the standard to which they should all strive for. It's all ridiculous. There's a reason more females suffer from eating disorders than males do. It's my belief that all it takes is for one comment from someone that is influential in someone's life and if the switch gets thrown, there's your recipe for anorexia nervosa and bulimia. Chrissy is another victim of size shaming. She has eaten herself to such an unhealthy weight and really needs therapy to sort it all out in her mind, not just a diet or gastric bypass surgery. She is a worthy person and is very beautiful. I'm sure Chrissy is not like Kate in real life as far as her self-centeredness, etc. goes.
  13. I am very sad for Chrissy's childhood abuse. She went on to say in the interview about her new book that she forgave the stepfather and that they are in a good place now. If that is what works for her to get through life, so be it. I really hope as well that therapy is part of her life. She said she lost weight before by eating a 2000 calorie diet and walking 20 minutes a day. If she could do that once, she could do it again. I wish her the best.

  15. Yes, the PI's wife was very patient and understanding and she got into the act and helped too by posing as a paralegal. Way to go!
  16. TIU does not make me cry. Reading these comments, however, makes me cry because I'm laughing so hard.
  17. I actually clapped my hands and shouted with glee when I read this! This. So much this. I couldn't agree more and just click the heart on this one. Some of these UO's are getting quite popular!
  18. Yep, that's what I've been thinking too. Shauna living in Randall and Beth's house with Deja would have put the spotlight on Shauna's own behavior, and there would have been lots of tension and disapproval if Shauna didn't act how she would be expected to. No hot dates with lover boy, no after work drinks until all hours, definitely no drugs, while the Pearsons babysit her kid. No, that wouldn't have worked out at all and Shauna isn't going to suddenly want parenting lessons from Beth and Randall. I think her giving up her parental rights gives her the freedom she wants.
  19. No problem at all, don't be sorry, no offense taken. I am so sorry that you've lost your sister. Prayers for you and your family to find peace and comfort in each other. I understand wanting to take an hour from reality just to chill and then this episode was thrust at you! My condolences to you and may your sister rest in peace after such a valiant fight.
  20. I don't really mind finding out about Jack and Nicky in Vietnam, but no more dream sequences please. No more flashbacks to Jack at every turn.
  21. I did see this story before. I didn't realize it at first but as the story unfolded I remember the PI who had found Kelli's body, well, not him specifically, but the fact that a PI spent a long time trying to find her and finally did by befriending the suspect. Perhaps I saw it on 48 Hours since this was a first-run Dateline. The photo at the end of Kelli Marie's grave with the PI David Marshburn and Kaz in front killed me.
  22. I am so sorry for the loss of your son. I cannot imagine the shock and grief you suffered and have to deal with for the rest of your life. The worst I've suffered is a miscarriage and I can't imagine losing a baby after he or she has been born, or stillborn. I don't know if a 3-month-old or any minor would be subject to implied consent laws. When you have a newborn, the last thing you're thinking of is what would I do with my baby in that situation. What would happen if they just took off and harvested organs without your knowledge or consent and you didn't want that or had beliefs that did not go along with that? I'm sorry for your pain. Blessings to you and your little angel resting in Heaven.
  23. Tonight's epi is allegedly new, "Deep in the Woods": Although cops have a suspect in the disappearance of a young combat medic stationed at Ft. Bragg, N.C., they are unable to solve the case, until a bounty hunter steps in to help; correspondent Andrea Canning reports on the case. Credits: Lester Holt (Anchor), Andrea Canning (Correspondent) ----- I'll watch to see if it is indeed new, as I can't tell from the description.
  24. Not all devout Catholic families can afford to send their children to a private Catholic school. To say if you are Catholic you should not enroll your children in public school is ridiculous. Perhaps Simon's parents thought the high school was a good one, providing their son with a proper education, until this issue came up.
  25. sugarplum, I didn't mean to correct or remind you that this is fiction! :D I just meant that in this episode, which is fictional and not in keeping with the facts you presented, that I think Dr. Donna was a rogue operator who must've had accomplices along the way who let her get away with her fraudulent practices for so long. In this epi, she was portrayed as doing everything on her own, but someone must have suspected something after over 30 procedures. Since no one turned her in, I can only conclude that she had cohorts in her greater good campaign. Thanks for explaining the true organ donation rules, regulations and practices to us!
