  1. Go to the in-person interview. If you are still meh about it, you'll be able to clearly identify if you are over interviewing or if it's something about the position.
  2. I bought weed and bug killer to start with. Picked up all my tools on Saturday so I could get outside and start killing weeds on Sunday but it rained all day. I haz a sad.
  3. That sounds like an exercise to see you thought process rather than an exercise to look for excellence. Don't forget your follow-up email / snail mail letter.
  4. @BooksRule check Costco's prices. You don't have to have a membership to get prescriptions filled there.
  5. My area is pretty large. It's currently full of weeds and the soil is a mix of dirt and small rocks. Next week I'll be pulling the weeds and turning the dirt to make sure roots from the prior owners plants are gone. I'm going to try for tomatoes, cucumbers, peas, berries, and herbs. I can put containers on my actual plot, just not on the ground or in the areas surrounding.
  6. @Petunia13 - thanks. I was brought on as the manager of the team but right now it's a team of me. The person I'm training reports to my boss. I'm hopeful she will eventually report to me. This afternoon was my weekly one-on-one with my boss and he told me he was at a meeting with all the leadership and our president was singing my praises. They want the one 'smaller area' hold-out to start using our processes to bring customers online instead of their complicated PITA process. They also want to start using my training for the 'smaller area' people in my position to train their sales force. All this is great to hear, but I'm also feeling irritated about the whole salary debacle from my 'interview period' (it's somewhere in this thread, I'm sure). If they're going to be using the processes and trainings I designed, I think they should also be paying me what was originally offered, instead of the lower amount the recruiter threw at me because 'that is what they feel the position is worth'. Granted, it's still more than I was making but dude, come on. So at my year date I'll be asking for a salary adjustment to correspond, if my area continues to grow and they implement the things I designed.
  7. I don't have space for pots. I'm not sure how big the plot is. The boxes are large but I can't recall if they are broken off into 2 or 4 areas. I'll take a look tomorrow, and see what I need to do to prep. They were all grown over last time I wandered through it, so I may need to clean mine out and nurture some good soil before I can get started.
  8. My apartment complex has an urban garden, and I scored a small plot to grow things! I'm hoping it has the right amount of sun for tomatoes and berries.
  9. The kittencat and the catcat had a meeting to discuss their new play schedule. 2-3am and 5-6am. I am not happy. I play with them before bed to wear them out and sometimes they sleep through the night but every night for the last 2 weeks has been PLAYTIME. It would be fine if they were quiet and not hitting the bed frame but the kittencat is a chirper and announces every move so I get to be awake. Then I try to kick them out, one of them (usually the catcat) will hide under the bed while the kittencat tries to pull my arm off.
  10. Not at all. I can see how it reads like that though. I'm in my role as one of those "get her the fuck in this role so it can succeed" promotions. I was told the day my internal application came through they stopped accepting applications. My legit guess is my counterpart is struggling a lot, is in the field a lot, is having some pressure put on him and he's deflecting it to 'TRH isn't doing xyz and they are still behind us'. I won't share all my secrets that I used to grow my old position that is growing us now, he needs to figure shit out for himself. My boss is an analyst, he has no knowledge or experience in the roll. Frankly my old boss and I can't figure out why my position would report to him, but whatever. I'm going to keep on doing my thing, and growing like we are.
  11. @GHScorpiosRule - there is an option to not publish updates. Also: Staffing agencies suck.
  12. Thanks. It will be 6 months in March. If our projections are correct we're on track for 25% YoY growth from Feb 2017. I'm not sure where this is coming from, probably pressure form the top. Me and my counterpart in a different area are the only two who function under a larger areas umbrella while supporting individual smaller areas. My counterpart also came into this roll with no experience and is struggling to get some of the adoption I am, though his numbers are much better than mine (they started higher). He is in the field a lot but I know that's not what is driving the numbers in his area. He's capitalizing on the existing momentum.
  13. It's becoming clear that my boss and I have two different ideas about what my job is and how to accomplish my goals. He thinks I need to be in the field the majority of the time. I think I need to be in the office supporting the back-end of the business the majority of the time. The reason my former area grew like it did was the level of support that was behind the sales force, not because my boss (in the same role I'm in now) was out in the field all the time. After every training my current boss is asking if they scheduled sales calls for me to go on. Uh, no. That's never going to happen at the volume he thinks it should. He's trying to get me to pass off the administrative things to people who have no idea what we do or how we do it. I'm training the back-up but I can't just come down here, start building trust that *I'm* the one who will make sure the sales people are taken care of and then immediately pass it off to someone they've never heard of. Yes, support is good but I really do not like the path this is starting to go down. That's just not how things work. I tried to explain it to him (after all they moved me down here because I was half of the team that brought my former area to #1 and my new area is dead last) and I intend to keep doing what I'm doing. Business has already grown 20% over 2017.
  14. @isalicat you may want to try a different brush. My kitten-cat doesn't care what kind of brush I use including the furminator. On the other hand, my cat-cat hates being brushed. I bought a new brush and now he loves it. The bristles in the original brush may have been hurting him.
  15. Thanks! That won't work due to the layout but it gave me some ideas!
  16. @ParadoxLost I have no idea what those are. Can you link one?
  17. I need a way to keep my windows open while preventing my kitties from climbing on the screens and potentially popping them out. I'm on the third floor so that would be extra extra bad. I have single hung windows (they slide up from the bottom) and I rent so I can't install anything permanent. Ideas?
  18. She had no idea what the content was. I suspect she was literally judging the SVH books by their covers. I wonder how they sell these days, I certainly wouldn't let my kids (if I had any) read them, if only by telling them did.
  19. Pick 2 never used to be that expensive. There was a selection of salads, sandwiches and soups, you pick 2 and the total was a set amount. You could select a more premium option for a dollar or two more. Now it seems like each item is only slightly cheaper than it's full portion counterpart. If you have a Newks or Corner Bakery in your area I recommend them instead. I just discovered Newks, being new to GA and they blow Panera out of the water. I remember that commercial too! And since I was an avid reader I think I was interested. Mom must have put her foot down that it was above my age range, despite me reading Tom Clancy, Stephen King and VC Andrews during 6th - 8th grade (but never Sweet Valley High, that was too risque and I'd have to wait until I was older).
  20. @Silver Raven that is a great commercial. Very inspiring. I think this eTrade commercial is very effective. Personally I'm way behind where I should be and it's redming me to get my shit together. I'd also attend a rave where DJ Nana was spinning (and I hate raves)
  21. It's the same one they ran during the Superbowl. They ran it during the Opening Ceremonies.
  22. Scientology is recruiting during prime time TV and it's infuriating.
  23. Can someone who is not a comic book enthusiast / couldn't tell you the difference between DC and Marvel enjoy this movie walking in without any prep work?
