Well, It Says Right Here...: All That's Wrong With Grimm
icewolf replied to Actionmage's topic in Grimm [V]
Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio was smart to take the role on Limitless, a main role is ALWAYS better than a guest role on another show. Better to take the chance even if it just last one season. I blame the writers for screwing up Kelly's plot by ripping off Seven with the head in the box thing, preventing future appearances for Kelly unless of course they reveal the death was a fake out. I think after the writers found out MEM wasn't available anymore after joining Limitless, they took the easy way out and killed the character. Just like the writers probably decided to burn the trailer when they found out putting the trailer in that wooded area was costing too much for filming. -

It looks like Limitless probably won't get renewed for another season. For a Tuesday show, has been getting Friday level ratings for CBS. 1.1 is what Hawaii Five-0 has been getting on Friday nights. Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio can still return as a still living Nick's mom! Who cares if it doesn't make sense, the writers had Nick finding 20 Grimm books after losing his own. -
So against all odds, Grimm gets another season. Good. Great news for the cast and crew. I think it all came down to the fact that NBC owns Grimm and gets to keep all the money it makes, and the show apparently does well overseas. What also helps is that the ratings have been pretty stable these last couple of months. I will complain about some of the poor writing at times, but I still like most of the characters and the actors. I would have stopped watching long ago if I didn't.

The Talking Thrones HBO jumps aboard the talk show for the show bandwagon.

Alright episode this week. Those two models were pretty dumb for trusting a complete stranger. If that doctor had been anymore hammy, he would have turned into a pig. Adalind shows up for her 2 minutes of screen time this week, and I breathe a sigh of relief at how short it was.

http://www.thefutoncritic.com/showatch/grimm/listings/ So Adalind FINALLY decides to get her lawyer job back in 5x17? So what the HELL has she been doing for the first 16 episodes of season 5? Talk about terrible planning by the writers... Adalind/Claire did more in season one with less screen time, and when she was still just a guest star!

I'm guessing Daryl is completely safe this Sunday, since Norman Reedus was already announced to be appearing on TD. -

What episodes could have made a decent series finale if we wanted to completely avoid Adalind's dumb second pregnancy and HexenJuliette nonsense? Episodes: 3x22 - Monroe and Rosalee get married. Seems like good closure for the show. But Renard is shot, and Nick has been degrimmed puts a damper on things. 4x06 - Nick gets his powers back, but Josh randomly appears at the end 4x07 - Trubel and Josh leave concluding their storyline. But the show just HAD to end at the dumb final shot of Juliette taking a pregnancy test. For real? This episode was SUPPOSE to be closure for Trubel, I'm assuming the writers had no plans to bring her back at this point. 4x10 - Wesenrein beaten. These two Monroe gets kidnapped episodes were actually pretty good. But another dumb final shot of Juliette going to Renard brings back terrible flashbacks of season 2. I'll argue the MOMENT Adalind found out about her second pregnancy was when the show irreversibly jumped the shark, it led directly to this season's crappy Nadalind plot. There is no real way to deal with that baby, they obviously won't kill it and shipping it off will seem like a retread of the Diana plot. RoboJulitte has also been a misfire this year, but at least she has been staying the hell away from Nick. One thing I'll never do is buy season 4 on dvd, the second half of the S4 contained some of the worst writing on television. S1-S3 is still great, with some fast forwarding of any annoying Adalind or Juliette scenes. -

Ratings and Scheduling: Who's the fairest of them all?

1.1 rating? It's time to make Elsa into a main character on this show! -
The fighter was an idiot to order that Wesen mask, but I don't consider him responsible for the two deaths. Without the Wesen mask he would have continued to be a jobber or eventually quit wrestling. That would obviously not hold up in court, so hopefully Nick let him go. This new Diana plot finally looks like it will give Adalind something to do besides being in the role of boring housewife. I'm already bored to death of Eve. At least she is staying away from Nick though. It was great seeing Nick writing his own Grimm books. Hopefully he keeps them doing that, and eventually passes it on to the next generation.

I'm actually pretty terrified what the writers are planning for Rosalee this season. That entire scene with the former druggie friend of hers, Tony who came to the shop to destroy her things and abuse her was pretty awful. That scene wasn't worth showing how "badass" Adalind was, I laughed at the bad CG of Tony's fingers being bent backwards by Adalind's powers. -
Final rating are for the 100th episode: 0.9 and 3.91 million viewers for the Finals http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2016/03/14/friday-final-ratings-march-11-2016/ Under 4 million again after several episodes above that number. I guess it's true, the Nick and Adalind sex grossed out WAY too many people that not even finding out what treasure the keys led to could bring them back! Please writers, KILL OFF Nadalind before it takes down the entire show with it!

I can understand why. Many people were pissed as hell when Juliette slept with Kenneth (Ewww). I never had much of a problem with with Bitsie herself, though she can be a bit wooden at times. My blame was always on the writers for giving us the bad writing. I had thought they were finally going to make the Nick/Juliette interesting by turning her into a Hexenbiest, and she would learn to control the dark urges by the end of the season. That actually would have been pretty cool. Imagine my surprise when they character assassinated Juliette and pissed off her fans, but also pissed off her haters by giving her such a massive arc. That was just as bad as if they had decided to turn Rosalee into a crack whore who decided her sell her body on the streets to buy drugs. -

Even if the writers were asked to get rid of the trailer scenes, they botched the storyline. Burning the trailer hurt the ratings, we can see how much they fell after that episode. They could have had Nick decide to move all this books and gear to the shop instead of having most of it destroyed first. Many people cared about the trailer and everything that was inside more than Juliette. The writers might have released their mistake and brought in those new Grimm books this season for Nick. -
This commonly happens to real life couples that have to act like they are together in a show/movie. My theory is that they always hold back to keep part of their relationship private, and they end up lacking chemistry onscreen. Actors with just a professional relationship don't have to do that and can be more convincing. Only true exceptional actors, which DG and BT sadly aren't, can take it to the next level and have explosive on screen chemistry like Brad and Jolie.

The writers had the trailer burned because they didn't want the crew to have to go to the forest to film the trailer scenes didn't they? -
I'm guessing DG thinks the Nadalind thing is a piece of crap, but he is being smart about it by saying nothing negative. Don't burn your bridges.

If they bring back normal human Juliette and pair her up with Nick, because this might be the final season (hey they brought back the keys and the Grimm books), I'm pretty sure that will be the final nail on the coffin. Nick would have gotten together with both his rapist and his mother's murderer (being an accomplice to a murder is the same as being the murderer in my eyes). That's three character assassinations. Massive disrespect for the lead character by the writers! Meanwhile, Bree Turner and Silas will be thanking the stars that the writers have basically ignored Rosalee and Monore ever since the season 3 finale when those characters got married. The writers obviously had no interest in writing happily married couples. But I'll take happy couple over soap opera love triangle any day.

Ratings and Scheduling: Still More Numbers to Decipher
icewolf replied to Kris117's topic in Person Of Interest [V]
So the new season gets reduced to 13 episodes, delayed for almost 1 year, a rushed airing during the summer, and finally gets canceled. Talk about getting screwed! CBS must really hate this show! -
10 Cloverfield Lane: Original Ending Revealed In the original script, Michelle escapes the shelter and is chased through the farmhouse by Howard, who still wants to “protect” her. She blinds him with bathroom cleaner, he tells her about his tragic life (dead wife, missing daughter, treacherous Nate, etc.), and then she shoots him in the kneecap and runs away. He ends the movie alive, entreating Michelle to “be careful.” Later, after traveling down empty roads and finding no one around to help her, she crests a hill and sees the Chicago skyline, smoldering and destroyed. No explanation is given. We don’t even know what she will do next, only that she now knows that Howard, for all his oddity, was correct. The final line in the script is, “She slowly pulls down the mask on the hazmat suit before taking a breath. Interesting! I think I would have preferred the original ending. The ending we got in the current film felt so out of place, too much like a video game, and even kind of felt forced.

Anyone else REALLY miss the Nick/Juliette house from S1-4? Maybe a ton of bad stuff went down there, but after having that as a setting for four years it felt like home. Now we have that ugly as hell factory that Nick lives at. Thank god we still have Monroe's house and the Spice Shop. Funny thing how Nick/Juliette was the stable relationship that the writers torched to the ground, while Monore/Rosalee are the well developed romance that had endured for so long now. I'm going to raise some hell if the writers mess that up by the end of this season, it is still the only thing they haven't screwed up yet. I've already decided to never rewatch season 4b ever again. The second pregnancy and HexenJuliette were clear shark jumping moments to me, they really messed up the show.
