Yeah...EB really struggled with this episode and the whole "speak in gravelly voice to show evilness!" Ugh. Of course, Nathan's newfound jolly optimism was annoying as well. I normally love their scenes together, but I felt like that were interpreting their scenes differently. It seemed like they were actors in two different productions of the same play. The ER and WS scenes though were excruciatingly bad. ER struggles when she's with good actors, like LB and EB, but put her with the Shat and it was terrible. He's chewing scenery; she's totally lost and unable to convey a single emotion. And yeah, it was totally Fringe, subtracting out the sweetness and regret of Walter Bishop. Yes, leaving Mara without motive was a terrible story choice. Haven has been showing reruns of S1-3 and there are some really great episodes. What's going on now does not follow from what was happening then.

Love those except the Switcheroo, because I hate body swap episodes. It's fun for the actors, sure, but boring for me as a viewer. I'd add 'Sins of the Father' which is my favorite episode ever. Duke dealing with his own father, then having the guy commit suicide by Duke, it's so, so good. That starts our trio on the path towards The Farmer, which is an incredible episode. EB, who I remember first as the douche hitting on Zoe Bartlett in West Wing, just nails it in that episode. He really began distinguishing himself for me there.

William Shatner is no John Noble and Emily Rose is no Joshua Jackson. It was a poor man's take on Fringe. *sigh* Utterly predictable. Whoever called Vince as the new Howard nailed it. I cannot wait to be free of this show.

Just adding that there is a huge difference between seeing a word on a page and hearing an actor say it. While "thinny" may work when you read it, it does not work in the show. The actors just sound silly.

You know, there have been shows before where I found the main pairing less interesting than the side characters, but never before have I so wanted the main pairing to just die fiery horrible deaths the way I do with this show. How can the show possibly come back from this to leave us with an ending that is even remotely satisfying? I'm trying to work it out. Will we get Duke fighting The Shat's control, sacrificing himself? God I hope not. Will Nathan sacrifice himself to save Duke and Audrey let's him? Well, I'd kind of like that. But if they did, it would be a total departure from the current characterizations. Audrey sacrificing herself to re-Barn leaving Nathan and Duke alone? I could live with that. I could. Anything, ANYTHING that ends up with Nathan and Audrey in some HEA is going to suck.

You want a summary? The Nathan and Audrey bus appeared, ran over Duke, backed up over him, then ran over him one more time. Then a giant yak climbed out of the bus, wearing a Nathan and Audrey 4EVA sandwich board and peed on Duke. It licked the pee off of him, then vomited the pee back out, along with stomach bile and acids, before taking a dump on Duke's chest. Then William Shatner appeared.

Oh...uh...Now and Forever as titles just scream Silhouette Romance novels.

There is a secret body removal/grief counseling team who comes in after Audrey is around to clean up the mess ;)

Season 6: Info, Casting and Spoilers
BlackberryJam replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Game Of Thrones
Is this now a thread where we have to hide all spoilers? Because I thought it was open spoiler talk. And honestly, I don't give a flying fuck if the dragons never get to Westeros. I just cannot tolerate more of Dany's useless and stupid adventures in Essos. Fuck that noise. -
Uhm...is this really an argument that Duke should have immediately been all-in on killing a young girl? And the hesitation he had was "dithering"? First of all, that's kind of gross, to expect Duke to be a killing machine with no feelings of his own. Secondly, that's not Duke's character at all. Duke has always been reluctant to use his Trouble and he was never all, "Yep, lemme jes kill'em. That's the bestest and easiest solution. Time for some neck crackin'." Nathan has no qualms about threatening to kill someone to save Audrey. He does it on the regular. Duke wants to find a way without killing someone, the same way Audrey used to be before she got infected by Nathan's sperm of lost IQ points. Yeah...No. Can't agree here that Duke's "dithering" and "balking" were in any way out of place. I can agree that the constant speeches of trauma and exposition are annoying, but that's never been exclusive to Duke.

I'll rewatch up until Audrey goes into the Barn. After that, I'm done. I mean, Sins of the Father though...what an amazing episode. I have to rewatch that.

My problem is that we are so close to the end, that I want to know how it resolves. I really do. I was sad about the loss of Dave. At least they didn't kick his body to the curb and ignore him, like they do with every other dead person in Haven. I now think Dwight dies too. If Dwight dies to save Nathan at Audrey's request, this show will have eclipsed Dexter in it's total last season suckage. I have gone over Audrey's actions and I can find no way to excuse them. She has always been the one to talk the Troubled down and this time she was all, "Just murder her already Duke, because NATHAN." Fuck her. I actually wasn't bothered by Nathan in his scenes with William, although they were totally predictable. But stick him back with Audrey and I wanted him to die some painful death. It does seem that they are heading for a noble sacrifice by Duke and I am going to hate that with everything. Duke "accepting his fate" this episode sucked. Totally sucked. At least they acknowledged that Audrey had used him before. But honestly, fuck her. Fuck her. My fantasy ending at this point is a time reset, with us going back to Audrey arriving in town only this time it's the real Audrey Parker (although poor Brad...wait, why do I care more for Brad than I do Nathan?) while BadWigRobotMara looks on. If that happens though, the only person who will remember the past few years will be Duke and he will suddenly be the guardian of Haven and have to keep things in check. Or something super shitty like that.

Just when I think I couldn't hate Audrey any more, that happened.

Season 6 Official Promo Poster http://watchersonthewall.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/JS-Tease.jpg Uh huh. Hey Jon Snow, 'sup? -
Nathan wasn't a total douche this episode, which was nice. He left all of his douche with Audrey. I'm not sure where it was discussed, but Audrey has always been the one to see the good in Duke. She's always been the one to know he can be relied on. She's always been the one who understood his struggle, even when she used him so ruthlessly. (I'm thinking of asking him to kill the organ eating guy who had like 40 kids who would turn into organ eaters.) So she's all pissed that he took off when he was clearly the one who was making things worse? Come the fuck on, bitch. You know whatever the hell happened to Duke resulted in everything going to shit, so you're going to be all hateful to him for absenting himself from the situation in an effort to stop making things so much worse. Fuck you, Audrey, fuck you. And can we talk about how shit the robot Mara with the flammable wig was? I mean...come on. That was horrible. Just freaking horrible. Trite. Stupid. Poorly acted. Lame. Weak. Dumb. There are not enough insults for that shitterrific plot device. Loved seeing William again and his interaction with Nathan was probably the only thing that didn't make me want to puke all over this episode.

Well...yeah I can. ER is getting paid to do a job, whether she likes that job or not. I don't get to say, "Oh, I don't like this project so I'm going to phone it in." And if I do, I get ripped for it. Actors aren't immune here. Sure the writing sucked, but that's no excuse for some of her terrible, laughable choices, and I'm thinking about her scenes with William and Nathan out in some field. That was high school play level bad acting. And yes, she needs to shoulder the blame for it. I don't get paid to watch, so I can check out any time and there are no career repercussions. Look at how EB is still selling it even though they have him wandering about doing stupid stuff. Even LB, who gets SHIT writing (moan about Audrey, wave gun in random person's face while looking angsty), he sells it and sells it hard. ER gets no pass from me.
-
Yes, little Duke appears out of no where to be in the photo with Lucy. And the leaning thing, while I understand it, really made Lucy look like a weakling. I was terribly distracted by her bad mascara too. I really think the things they did to cover ER's injury changed the tone of the show. Young Dave's Frankenstein Walk of Croatoan Possession cracked me the hell up. While I enjoyed the Duke bits, I WANTED NATHAN TO ANNOUNCE THAT DUKE'S MOTHER WAS A COLTON. GODDAMMIT. I did not want the return of Plot Device Girl. Argh. Best scenes were Nathan and the Chief, hands down. Worst scene, Lucy and Nathan in the woods.
-
This, time a million. The Chief and the Rev were great characters and LB did good work with both of them. I do think the writing and ER have really hindered LB in the last couple scenes. It seems they direct him to have manpain and be schmoopy. The end. I know once the show is over, I will rewatch the whole thing to see if there were clues, in S1. But I suspect I'm going to end up fastforwarding most of S4...
-
You know, all of my favorite Audrey parts are in the earlier episodes as well. I remember really enjoying the coffee/doughnut scenes with Nathan in their shared office. I also liked her with the Chief. ER's acting really took a nosedive for me after S3. Unlike Tatiana Maslany, I don't think she was able to embody the different characters, Sarah, Lexi, Mara, Audrey...also, whatever spark she had with LB kind of died. On rewatch, I really enjoyed how she and Jason Priestley interacted.

Duke needs to be back in Haven. At this point, he's the most interesting one in the trio. Somehow, when Nathan stuck his penis in Audrey, it caused a Boring Trouble to infect them both. Gah. I never particularly enjoyed their romantic tension and liked them much better as friends, but I could have accepted it if it had been done well. It hasn't. What the fuck happened to this show?
-
I'm to the point that when it comes down to that tear-jerking moment where Audrey or Nathan has to let the other one die to save Haven, and they are having their tragic "I love you" scene, I am probably going to shout, "About fucking time!" and then hope for a parade of all the people who have sacrificed their loved ones for the Troubles.
-
Wow. Boring. Duke needs to get back to Haven to help make things interesting. I am to the point that I want both Audrey and Nathan to die. And in some painful, pointless way. That is not what should be happening here.

The problem with Ashley's plus-sized collection is that it doesn't address plus-sized proportion issues. Some women have a big bottom and smaller top half. Others are the other way around. None of these looks addresses the issue of a woman having extra poundage in the area between the boobs and waist. All of these looks are for women of a larger size but still on proportion. That's why I look at them and think, 'Nah, no plus-sized woman is going to wear that.' And, the color palette is cotton candy vomit.

On Charlotte...

Okay...I'm not the only one who was just underwhelmed by everything. And just...okay...look, the town is officially cut off from the rest of the world right? But, the cell phones work? Sure, they can have a Verizon tower, but, the cell phones work? And what about food? Shouldn't there be some organization to check on food stores? And fuel? I know I'm overthinking here, but the fucking tarot card reader was open for business and yet no one is wondering how they are going to get gas when it runs out. Also, the tarot lady actor was terrible. I hated Charlotte and Audrey doing the handreach pose of super woman-ness repeatedly. Duke is always entertaining, but he's totally spinning his wheels. I like that he caught onto the faker dude quickly. They need to get him back to Haven NOW.
