  1. I'm excited as hell about Rachel.  She handled those shock entrances with aplomb.  I would be visibly cringing and I'd be uncomfortable and probably make the audience feel that way, too.

I appreciate a lot of your thoughts about Vanessa.  Thank you for articulating for me.  She drives me totally up the wall.  Wonder if Nick is blinded by beauty or is this what he really wants.  I'd tap out even during a conversation with her.

With Kaitlyn it seemed to be sex and fun all of the time, really, a lighter side of Nick.  With Vanessa, everything is just scary and downward.  Hard to explain better than that.

I have to admit I really did enjoy Nick's season until Corinne left.  Yes, she took up way too much space, but perhaps with the exception of Rachel, the other contestants just weren't interesting?

I'm kind of sad hearing rumours here that Rachel was picked for the Bachelorette all along, so maybe all the attention that Nick paid to her was faked?  Geez, this shit is even more cynical than I could have dreamed.

  2. Vanessa is exhausting.  I am ready to SLEEP.

I've only watched a couple ATFRs.  Do they look extremely uncomfortable and unhappy or is it just me?  How long has it been since the proposal?

I was a little shocked Vanessa and even CHRIS were so open about how much difficulty Nick and Vanessa are having ALREADY.

I don't know how Kaitlyn and Shawn were on ATFR but they still seem so happy NOW.

Vanessa seems so defensive about DWTS!

  3. When I walk downtown Toronto I see that most condos have huge appealing gyms with large windows that I can see into.  I always see the people on treadmills.  Not exactly a yoga studio but not a far cry.  There are usually blinds if needed or preferred.

  4. Now I have something to like about Nicole's performance, because this was a really good episode for her.

I really like Reese/Maddie, but I hate that they made her a cheater.  That extremely sucks.  Maybe I would have understood her kissing the director back in that one instance, but then to reveal that they've had sex several times or whatever it was.  Goodness. That makes me so sad.  They set up Maddie as being so sympathetic over what Nathan did to her in the past, and this just makes everything so cloudy, because she's hurting Ed and potentially Chloe who is so young.  And I wonder if Abigail suspects things about her mother's affair, too.  Sigh.

To the posters who enjoyed the reveal about Maddie and Celeste finding being a mother not being enough for them, there is this great new Canadian sitcom called "Workin Moms" created by the daughter of Ivan Reitman.  I've been really enjoying it.

I wasn't loving Shailene at first, but she won me over a bit in this episode.

Nathan might be hot but his personality is so unattractive.  I don't get it at all.  I don't get Ed either, but at least he doesn't seem like a dickhead.

That meeting with the Mayor was so good.  He seems like such a manipulative cheeseball and Renata was just fakely giggling all over him; they were both so schmoozey and annoying.

The teacher makes me so angry.  What an incompetent tool.

The Maia storyline feels out of place.

Maia is the Archie of The Good Fight.  (If anyone watches Riverdale)

I think Lucca is so weird.  LOL.  When it comes to her romantic life.  It's hard for me to grasp.  Are there women who really act like her?  Maybe.  But to me it just feels like silly writing.

Sometimes this show is like TGW when it was good.

So Lorde is a record company executive's daughter, right? She obviously didn't get a deal based on musical talent, and she's not that pretty.

I assume you have not listened to her first album Pure Heroine. I think that she's very talented.  Pretty should have nothing to do with getting an album deal and no her parents are not in music; it's weird that you'd make that kind of an assumption about a woman's music you didn't get.

Lorde's dancing:  Ever since she came on the scene she's made me think of a mini-Bjork.

  7. The book's Maddie is like lovably goofy.  Affably clever, silly.

Reese's Maddie, there's a lot more going on behind the surface or something, she's a lot more hardened, and maybe a perfectionist.

    I enjoy both interpretations.

For all of the talk about boss and brand, I think they really wanted someone who was boss and brand like one of those successful instagram models.

I checked out India's instagram.  It's a lot of people commenting how much she resembles Gigi Hadid.  I think India's great, but for sure this resemblance must have really helped her.

I kind of LOVED Drew during the Paper magazine shoot, just kind of squinting at everyone.  LOL

Good for Justine!  She's an extremely sexy Instagram model, I felt kind of weird looking at some of those pics, practically vulgar, LOL but whatever, good for her!  Get that paper.

I'm glad India won. I never heard of the clothing brand they were modeling, Two Blondes.

Been paying attention to fashion for 20 years since my mother is a fashion designer.... neither have I.

Poor Coryanne; the bus came to drive over her, as soon as she was becoming a great model.  I find her sexy and cute as all hell.

Tatiana don't impress me much.  Good for India, she deserved it.

Still can't stand Tyra.  As soon as she started talking, I remembered why I left this show in the first place.

Good for Paige, re: @niklj's post. I thought she was treated so unfairly.  This whole episode I kept thinking it makes no sense that Courtney wasn't there.  Is it just that she's too short?

I want to know how she and Drew went from "India, hell no" to flipping sides.

I thought Law and Ashley preferred Tatiana.  Drew preferred India from the start, didn't he?  And I *THINK* Rita was pro-India?

I agree, Ashley is absolutely not a supermodel to me.  Crystal Renn, before she got all thin, was a very high fashion plus size model (my opinion).  But still not a supermodel.

Yes, Cherish was there, and I still love her.  (I love redheads)

(In reference to not remembering how Tony performed) I was speaking about challenge performance, and whether he was the right person to boot early. I know he was the sole Survivor. ;)

Absolutely atrocious at puzzles.  Hilariously bad.  I assume pretty good at physical challenges.  His tribe, "Brawn" pretty much dominated along with Beauty.  Brains, with Spencer, J'Tia, and Tasha, etc. kept failing I think.

Spencer has his fans, including me half of the time, but it's not like he was good at the game per se.  Not from what I remember.

And now my favourite contestant this season is the second bootee so how bad is Tony / how good is Sandra. Sigh.

I was actually wondering whether Tony was gaslighting Michaela to see what her reaction would be.  Or was he just being his normally stubborn lunkhead self.

I thought Tony was looking pretty handsome.  I thought he looked in much better shape than in Cagayan.

What I liked about Michaela here is that she's self-aware. She knows her "flaws" in the game.  She can't help herself sometimes but she knows where she goes "wrong".  When the big dogs on the tribe are talking about who to vote off she was just gathering sticks and listening.

It's interesting how the episode was Cirie versus Ozzy (with Tai caught in the middle, LOL) and Tony versus Sandra.  I have no idea what happened to Malcolm, Caleb, and Aubry at the end there.  What a disappointment.  Tony saw the writing on the wall and couldn't do anything about it.

I don't remember how well Tony performed in his season,

    He won.

Malcolm still looks extremely hot.  I just never cared much for his personality - there's no X factor.  He's so......... there's a huge lack of something.  Heart, humour?

I am completely neutral on Sandra's personality.  Tony wasn't paranoid.  You're not paranoid if you're right.  Jesus.  Sandra just doesn't like anyone questioning her, which I get.

Tony is just entertaining as all hell.  Leaning against a tree, watching everyone sleep, doing army crawls in the dark.  Man, he's just so much fun.  Tony doing the llama voice at Kass is one of the funniest things I've ever seen on this show.  Oh lord. Oh lord!!!  I'm so sad.

I loved seeing Cirie and Zeke be the dream team in the first challenge.

  12. I don't see Jack as being addicted to drinking, as others have said. (Control-F for the word "addict" if you don't believe me).   I know people who have driven drunk - friends, family.  To me it is the stupidest fucking thing in the world.  Yet, people do it.  They're not addicted to drinking; they just make really stupid decisions when they're drunk or even not that drunk.

Anyways, we do not know whether Jack dies from driving drunk..... yet.

Denis O'Hare is an American, and him playing British is a distraction to me that I'm not sure makes sense, kind of like Don Cheadle in Ocean's 11.  It feels like it was his own decision.  And if he HAD to be British I wonder why not hire a British actor.

If you tweet at Sterling K. Brown, by the way, he is so nice and will tweet back.

  13. Kate is such a good sister.  I find the things she says and does for Kevin and Randall very touching.  She offered to learn how to do wills online for Randall.  That's so sweet and funny.  And she is so supportive of Kevin's stupid play.

I love how Beth always says her piece but basically lets Randall do what he wants when his face looks like he means business.

Wouldn't that sophisticated kid of theirs be sadder about their grandfather dying?  I wouldn't be having 'fun' at the -eral whatsoever personally.  Balloons?  I agree, the stuff about the mailman was cheesy but the Jesse stuff was good.  Is the actor British or what?  He's American on The Good Wife.

I tried to put myself in Randall's place and I personally couldn't forgive Rebecca like that, not that easily, no way.  I tried to put myself in Rebecca's place but of course it's much harder to understand.  I don't know.  Complex issue.  Mandy did a good job with the speech.  But then when she congratulated Kevin, it sounded sarcastic.  Haha.  It probably wasn't meant to but it didn't feel genuine.

I don't find Justin Hartley a good actor as Kevin, let alone a good actor as Kevin being a good actor.  LOL.  He's like the Joey Tribbiani of the show....   I just realized that Jack and Rebecca were originally going to name their kids K-K-K.  So dumb.

Why does Sophie forgive Kevin?  It makes it seem like Kevin cheated on her and the only thing breaking them apart was Kevin leaving.  The only thing that's happened so far is a stretch of time.  Weird story.

    @SueB I cried a lot too.

If anyone is interested in the 1990s song playing while Jack was in the bar, it was "Possum Kingdom" by The Toadies.

  14. I'm so sad I forgot to comment on Liz. Thank you all for reminding me.  I feel sorry for this woman. All of her grandstanding and crying and speeches made me feel uncomfortable.

I missed the first 3 minutes or so and I guess I missed Raven spinning around on the hillsides like Maria in The Sound of Music?  Damn it.

Poor, stupid Danielle.  If you watch the tape back and can't see Nick's interest in you falling as soon as he put it together that you say the word "like" every other word with nothing of substance in between.  Oh honey.  I think Nick even talked about this exact issue on Howard Stern recently.

I hate to say this (I guess I don't really), but I know someone who is a mental health counselor who is one of the craziest people I've ever known (to me - I know this is subjective).  I have another friend who is also a counselor who seems a lot more balanced.  Sometimes it blows your mind to see the people who choose that profession, doesn't it?

  15. I was a theatre manager around 2010 and I worked with a kid who was only 16 and loved Neil Diamond.  I found that so, so hysterical.  That's my mom's favourite artist!  Anyway, the youth constantly fascinate me.  The amount of music that people can find on the internet is infinite.  I bought a classical CD off of some guy I kept watching play the cello on the subway.  And yes, Nirvana shirts are constantly being sold and sold out because of the resurgence of loving grunge.  I'm happy that I have my little crew on social media that will never let anyone forget Aaliyah.  There will always be people out there who love what you love or did love or your parents loved.  Leighton Meester actually recently covered "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac on YouTube.

My brother's five years younger than I am and in a band.  Once I joined the band at karaoke.  I couldn't believe how much music they knew from the 1950s and 60s and onward.  When I told him that he simply responded, "We're musicians."  LOL.  Music lovers love all music!

  16. I'm a big fan of Nicole's but in this part I find her so muted and hidden!  I'm honestly a little befuddled about everyone's raves for her performance but it's probably the same issue I always have - I love the dynamic, flashy parts with a huge range of emotion instead of the more reserved, "internal" ones.

I'm a big fan of Adam Scott but I am really not sure how I feel about Ed.  I appreciate Adam's range though - he's always playing a different kind of character and I've certainly never seen him act in a part like this before.  (When he was coming up he'd play bit parts in comedies like Monster-in-Law and Step Brothers, and he is so funny.)

  17. I think Kristina is pretty but not extraordinary. I have quite a few Russian and Ukranian friends and definitely know people with some really harsh childhoods so I'm wondering if that's why I'm not so bowled over by her like everyone else.  I'm really glad it's Rachel.  The definition of someone different than what this franchise is used to.

Rachel's dress when Nick dumped her was AMAZING.  I found Rachel to be so genuine in that moment.  I felt genuine sadness about it.  There was another dress that was great too, I think Vanessa's.  I was never a fan of Vanessa's but she was a 10 in that swimsuit.  I am very jealous.
