  1. Upon rewatching the episode again, I am really interested in the brief showings of the Strongs. Based on how he tries to advise the King, it almost seems like the Strongs are like the southern Starks. The father trying to give true and honest advise to his King. However, we also see his youngest son with the club foot hanging around all the ladies of realm as they discuss the goings on. We also get a brief look at another son I assume when Rhaenyra comes back from the hunt definitely giving her an appreciative look. They definitely seem like they may be up to something but not sure what or maybe they really are just loyal subjects. The dragon rider was Corlys son Leanor that was being mentioned to marry Rhaenyra. The Velaryons were not dragon riders previously but Laenor is also the son of Rhaenys so he also has Targ blood so he gets his dragon riding blood from his mom. Also about the Targs not having as many incestuous relationships as it was made out to be in GOT, I think you also got to remember that is almost another 200 years later. Right now this is their first 100 years of their reign, it seems like they are trying to build alliances to strengthen themselves in Westeros. However, I think it is the events that come out of this that are probably going to be why they may ending up having more incestuous relations in the future. They decide best to keep the power inside the family to prevent outsiders from trying to take it.
  2. A good episode. Not sure if it was as good as the first two. I do think this was probably the character of Alicent’s best episode. As mentioned by another poster, she is really juggling being wife, mother and daughter and doing what is best for her family while obviously still caring about Rhaenyra. There is definitely some conflict between going after what her father wants and hurting Rhaenyra. I do wish we had gotten at least one scene with Rhaenyra and Alicent before this big time jump preferably right after Viserys announcing the marriage just to see how Alicent tried to explain this to Rhaenyra. Maybe we’ll get some conversations about this later on. Sullen and bitter Rhaenyra wasn’t as great as she had been in the first couple of episodes though I think this was needed and hopefully bounces back next episode. She still had some good points though. Seeing through the Lannisters and calling them out is always a plus. Her coming back to camp covered in blood was definitely a moment that those attending wouldn’t forget and probably overshadowed the king. So much seems to be unsaid between her and the king. Her saying that marrying Alicent offered him no advantages has to be something that has been bothering her for so long. What that implies, seems like something that she has been thinking about all this time. Viserys seems to slowly be breaking down physically and psychologically by being the king. Agree with a previous poster that while the show seemed to focus the entirety of the war on that one beach, it is unlikely all three years were there. Laenor mentions that this was a choke point that the Crab Feeders men had fallen back to. Didn’t mind Daemon surviving at the end because while it was a bit of plot armor. It wasn’t completely illogical for him to survive with how it was set up. The Crab Feeder was only sending a few men at a time at a pace where Daemon could fight one at a time and be able to keep moving to avoid the arrows. It wasn’t until CF sent out more men where Daemon had to slow down and ended up getting shot. I think the white flag thing will be like all things with Daemon, it will depend on what you already think of Daemon. In Westeros, those who aren’t opposed to him will probably see him going out on his own as heroic while those already against him will see faking the white flag as disgraceful.
  3. I know that in previous episode forums it has been said that Ivy and Harley are too different to work. I think the season and in this episode it shows that their differences are why the work and need each other. At their worst, Ivy is a loner with almost no regards for humanity and Harley is so emotionally codependent that she is willing to do anything to be loved. Ivy has helped Harley find strength in herself and Harley has helped Ivy learn to care about people. Of course this is only to a certain degree for both as they are both still in growth. They both have had some set backs this season. This episode we see the group witnessing over and over the most traumatic moment of a person’s life. Ivy has zero empathy while Harley can’t help but want to try help. This episode also shows how much Ivy pushing for Harley to stand on her own has paid off as she could never imagine doing good would actually feel good and be enjoyable because the major influences on her have been her dad and Joker. Loved the call backs to previous Batman shows/movies/comics. Really intrigued where the storyline is going this season with Bruce/Batman trying to bring back his parents. There is definitely going to be some side effects.
  4. Another good episode though it is starting to be a bit of a problem that a show called Raising Kanan is best when the story isn’t involving Kanan. Juke is just taken shot after shot. She sings her heart out but gets criticized for not looking sexy enough by not only Crown but her uncle Now if they have Zisa sing her song only to have some kind of let down by her mother it will just keep pushing her down a dark path. Slowly but surely they are painting the picture of how a sweet young girl becomes the monster she was in the original series. So which couple hits the sheets first: Marvin and the anger management lady or Burke and her oddly similar looking ex?
  5. Really enjoying the series so far. I agree with above about keeping the focus on the Targs and goings on around their family makes it easier to follow. Though I wouldn’t mind seeing the other families from GOT like Lannisters and Starks even if for an episode. Vicerys really seems like a somewhat kind person but really doesn’t seem to have the mind to be capable ruler. Hell marrying Alicent can be argued makes perfect sense as he should produce more children for his family line and he wouldn’t have to wait at least two years for it. However, he should have also tried to make some type of offer to Corlys. From the last episode it looks like Corlys has a son as well so he could have offered a marriage with Rhaenyra as a way to not only appease Corlys but provide an ally to aide Rhaenyra in becoming queen when he passes. Daemon is definitely continual chaos. He chose to take the dragon egg of his brother’s dead son as provocation. Not sure what the end game was that but I think he was pleasantly surprised by Rhaenyra. Daemon really is a younger brother, he pesters and calls his brother all types of things but will still protect his brother from slander. It really doesn’t matter at this point but does Rhaenyra have more than friendly feelings for Alicent? Rhaenyra does seem to have good instincts for being a leader. I liked that she wanted to find the best person for the King’s Guard and not just the most politically advantageous. Though she needed to hear what Rhaenys said.
  6. I really enjoyed this episode and the whole series. I agree that this is a good end if there are no other seasons. If there is another season it would definitely couldn’t involve Vader. At least no directly so that he and Obi Wan don’t meet again. This was a nice place to connect between ROTS and ANH with them. I have seen comments here and other places about the TIE fighters not being used but this was also exactly what was done at the beginning of ANH. It seems the strategy is to basically bombard till the shields are gone and they can damage the ship enough so that they can be boarded. I will say my one issue is the Reva storyline. The actress really did turn the character around and gave her depth but Reva seems like a loose end. loved the fight with Obi Wan and Vader. Liked that we finally saw someone go after Vader’s chest panel. Great use of both HC and JEJ’s voices. I think the dialogue and EM expressions really made the scene great. Nice seeing the Emperor at the end. also loved the subtle threat he makes to Vader so that Vader has to force himself to stop obsessing about Obi Wan. I know in books and in comics the Inquisitors were created by the Emperor so that Vader would focus on his Sith training and helping the Emperor with the Empire and stop obsessing about the Jedi. While Vader cares about killing all the remaining Jedi, the Emperor is just content with letting them hide from his Empire. Also the more Vader is stuck on obsessing about Obi Wan the more he clings to his old life as Anakin and the Emperor doesn’t want that. I do wonder what happened to Lola now. I think the show was successful in its main goal of showing how Obi Wan was able to recover from everything that happened in the prequels to be the person he was in the OT.
  7. I can’t help but watch those flashback scenes and think they would have made the perfect introduction to their characters in AOTC. Like after it is suggested that Padme be guarded by a friend instead of specifically naming Obi Wan and Anakin, they cut to them sparring with each other. They show so much of their dynamic in such a little amount of time. The message was a bad idea by Bail but as others have stated the last he heard they were supposed to be on their way at least a day or two ago. Now he has to assume things have gone wrong and that it is two dangerous for Obi Wan to communicate or even try to get to Alderaan. I think Bail sees this as letting Obi Wan know to stay hidden as long as needed to keep Leia safe and is assuring Obi Wan that Luke will be taken care of. So I am wondering now how all this is going to end? He is on a ship with no good hyperdrive being chased by Vader. He needs to get Leia back to Alderaan. Then there is Reva with the information bout Luke so he has to get to her before she gets to Luke. This all needs to be done in one more episode.
  8. Very good episode. Nice bounce back from last week’s ep which felt like the weakest episode so far. Finally got the answers about Reva and also now people can also stop complaining about canon and the GI. Nice use of the flashbacks to help tell the story and show how well Obi Wan and Anakin know each other. Also nice little reaffirmation that while he was able to beat a very shaken Obi Wan, when both are thinking clearly Obi Wan is still a step ahead of Anakin and that Anakin is still the Palawan aka learner. Really wondering what Reva is going to do with the information. Regarding leaving wounded people to die, apparently Obi Wan does learn this lesson because the ending of episode in Rebels with him and Maul has a whole new spin on it. At the time, it seemed he was showing compassion and staying with Maul in his final moments but now it’s clear he was just staying with him to make sure that SOB died and stayed dead.
  9. Have watched the first two episodes so far and it isn’t bad. Definitely think GD as Elinor has been the standout so far but that might just because so far she has scenes with the most scenery to chew. I have liked both leads as their characters. However, my one complaint so far is Calliope’s actress doing her voiceovers. She seems to be forcing those. It doesn’t sound natural.
  10. Okay not really sure how some of those are sloppy writing especially since it has been established in TPM that Jedi can do those deep underwater dives. Also it isn’t just force sensitive people that can resist Jedi mind tricks which again has been established in the movies. With the tracker comment and the tombs both leave the viewers without immediate answers. With the tracker it is if she is lying or if not how did she do it. With the tomb it brings up a lot of questions about who is in there and why? The writers are not immediately spoon feeding the audience the answers. Eventually they do provide the answer for the tracker and with the tombs we may get answers in the next two episodes or maybe it is to be used in a different story that is to come. With Wade’s death, it isn’t necessarily for the viewers to care. This show is about transitioning Obi Wan from the PTSD, guilt ridden man that we see at the beginning to the path that leads him to the person he is in Rebels and in ANH. He has lost so much faith in the kindness of others. He sees in this episode people who have lost people and been hurt by the Empire but are still going out of their ways to help others even at the expense of their own lives. How would Leia and Obi Wan not have an emotional connection already? Even before this, Leia is the child of his best friend and a woman he not only admired but considered a friend. Plus he was literally there when she was born so how wouldn’t the events that have happened just created a greater emotional bond with her for Obi Wan. And for Leia, here is a man who has risked his life multiple times to save her so why wouldn’t she feel an emotional bond with him no matter how little time they have known each other? I understand not everyone is going to like the show. Hell it does have it’s problems. Leia being kidnapped twice is a bit much. There are times the shows budget becomes obvious. If it weren’t for the sequels and Solo, this would have been made to a good movie with a shortened time and better budget. Also I think if you are going to make a six episode series they should be between 40-60 mins. These 30 minute episodes are a bit of a let down. As others have mentioned this was probably the weakest episode but I am enjoying Obi WAN’s journey so far. really liked that you could see him getting his confidence back with the lightsaber with little flourishes after he got rid of a couple of the stormtroopers.
  11. Bringing this from the speculation thread but seems relevant to some of the above posts: Actually if you think about it, it would make since for Leia not to acknowledge knowing Obi Wan. Bail isn’t telling anyone that Leia has been kidnapped. So when Leia is returned as long as they don’t speak of the Obi Wan and the kidnapping, they can have deniability from the Emperor and his men about being part of the rebellion or knowing where Obi Wan is. It is still another decade before the Senate is able to be dismantled so the Emperor or Vader can’t just outright accuse the Organa’s of hiding Obi WAN’s location since the only reason they know that Bail is able to contact Obi Wan is because they kidnapped his daughter.
  12. Well if the Mandolorian showed us anything, it showed us that the Empire had no problems designing cuffs small enough for children/infants. Well this episode we see that they also equipped torture devices to configure to hold small children as well. Regarding the tomb, it was established in Rebels one of the reasons for it. Basically it is another trap that the Inquisitors use to catch Jedi’s. When a Jedi or someone force sensitive dies the place they die and also the body still has a residual energy that Jedi’s can perceive. The bodies being preserved like that is a way to preserve that energy. (I am using energy instead of the dreaded M word from the prequels) In Rebels the GI used a preserved body of a powerful Jedi Master to lure in the heroes who thought she was still alive. Another reason for preserving these force sensitive people was also part of Palpatine’s plan to live on even after death. Honestly I think the Emperor kind of gave the Inquisitors the low end of everything. Apparently they designed a fortress underwater with giant windows that can’t apparently handle blaster fire. Then they don’t seem to be that up to date on the comings and goings since Tala mentions doing work for the GI and nothing mentioned about him being ‘dead’. They have security droids whose range of sight is very limited. They have TIE fighters but they aren’t prepared to scramble them since no one followed after Kenobi escaped. And as mentioned by a previous poster they allowed two aircrafts to advance on their base with nothing happening to them. Liked Tala using the stormtroopers helmets against them to disorient them before shooting them.
  13. While I agree this wasn’t the best episode I do think some things aren’t as bad as they may seem. Though I think this was really an episode where I could feel the TV budget versus film with the speeder rescue because the proportions didn’t seem right. They appeared to be smaller at times then they should be. Reva trying a different/kinder tactic then before wasn’t really that surprising because if she is one of the younglings from the beginning then hurting a child may bring up bad memories. Also we saw the last episode she was obviously not comfortable when Vader snapped the kids neck while the other Inquisitors were not bothered at all. Also Vader being upset at Reva for Obi Wan getting away isn’t that surprising. It is one thing if he allows Obi Wan to run away beaten and humiliated but Reva allowed them to escape with what could be considered a win. So after this episode I am wondering who dies first Reva or Tala?
  14. Actually if you think about it, it would make since for Leia not to acknowledge knowing Obi Wan.
  15. No wonder Stormtroopers can’t shoot accurately. They can’t see because seriously how the hell is no one stopping Obi-Wan with Leia hidden under his coat. Felt that this may have been the weakest episode so far in the series. It wasn’t bad but felt short. I think it was missing something. Maybe a little more follow up to the last episode with Vader letting Kenobi go. I can almost hear the moaning from a certain portion of the fandom when it was Reva revealed that she put a tracker about them lessening Vader in the OT. Well my speculation that this episode was going to be more about learning Reva’s backstory and Kenobi healing was really wrong. I am interested in Reva’s need to get Kenobi even Vader seemed intrigued when she said getting Kenobi was all that mattered. Glad Obi Wan is starting to get back to his old self slowly.
  16. Okay that being the first time Obi Wan says it in this series would be fantastic. Reading some of the comments about Leia learning about Padme did give me an idea that goes with my earlier post and could close a plot hole that was created by the prequels. If when Reva kidnaps Leia, she figures out that Leia is forced sensitive and/or adopted maybe she tries to read Leia’s mind and pulls up deep memories from Leia’s mind of being born. They can flash the clip of Padme holding her and naming Leia and also telling Obi wan that there is still good in Anakin. In pulling up these memories not only does Reva see them but so does Leia. Also this would have Reva figure out about Anakin fathering the twins or at least Leia which would mean that somehow Reva is going to end of up getting killed. I think by either Kenobi in order to protect the twins or by Vader before she can tell him the truth.
  17. Definitely agree that the prequels main issue was Lucas wearing too many hats. Writer/director/producer. I think him writing the overview for the whole prequels like he did with the OT would have been fine. Then have each movie directed by a different director who may have their own writers or have someone else go through the script and rewrite what dialogue would be needed. I never had an issue with the overall ideas that Lucas was trying to portray in the prequels but it just wasn’t as successfully portrayed as in the OT. The sequels suffered from the opposite problem. It had too many people’s ideas/visions instead of having one vision and having each director present their interpretation of that vision. It is a shame that people wanted so badly for Star Wars to be out of George’s hands that they didn’t think of what may happen without one person’s guiding vision.
  18. Bringing this up here for further discussion from my post in the episode thread: I think that kidnapping Leia is going to get Reva killed by the end of the series. I think that somehow this time with Leia is going to result in Reva learning either Leia being force sensitive or possibly even learning about the twins and Vader being their father. But she is going to get too much information and end up dying. I am thinking this next episode is going to be a flashback episode where we get more of Reva’s backstory and also scenes of Anakin and Obi Wan pre ROTS.
  19. Well while it seems that even though Disney wanted to get rid of the old EU. Most of the people behind the shows keep trying to bring in parts of the EU into canon when they can. The last two episodes hinting at old EU characters in canon. First last episode the boy who was being smuggled out with his mother was named Corran. Then apparently if you look very closely the names of Djinn Altis, Roganda Ismaren and Valin Halcyon were on the walls. Also seems they have read old scripts or the novelizations of the movies because as mentioned in previous post the idea of Obi Wan having a brother is almost a shout out to the original idea of Owen being his brother. Then you can also take Leia asking if Obi Wan was her father as a bit of a nod to in the novelization of ROTS there are rumors going around of Padme being involved with a Jedi and Palpatine even tells Anakin of this but lets him know that people think it is Obi Wan because he was caught going in and leaving her place a few different times early in the morning. Of course Obi Wan is only there to talk to her about Anakin. In the first episode I wasn’t a fan of the one scene with Obi wan meeting up with the fugitive Jedi because of how dark the scene was. however, the darkness with the scene with Vader really worked as it gave more emphasis to the horror feeling that Obi Wan must be going through. Vader lighting his saber nearly made me jump. I have to wonder if kidnapping Leia personally is going to be the proverbial death knell for Reva.
  20. For people wondering why Vader let Ben go, people have to remember that he is still Anakin underneath that suit. He has spent the last ten years reliving that final battle. He made his castle on the planet where that battle took place. He is still the arrogant Jedi underneath it all. He has not gotten over losing the fight when he felt he should have been at his strongest. Now he has a chance to avenge/correct that loss but Obi Wan isn’t the fighter he once was. His ego won’t allow him to kill Obi Wan in this state. Also wondering as he stared through the flames of Obi Wan being carried off, if he wasn’t flashing back to the same thing happening with him. I am not bothered by Obi Wan being so weak at the moment. He is suffering from major PTSD and has lost his connection to the force. As he told Leia, he is now in the dark afraid. I think he is going to need to heal in the next episode both physically and also mentally. Once he is able to connect again with the Force we will see a different Obi Wan getting closer to the one from the episode in Rebel and in ANH. I am wondering more and more what Reva’s end game is. Is she just trying to move up the ranks in the Inquisitors or is there something else. This episode seemed to blow out my theory that Vader had picked her to be his Inquisitor chasing after Obi Wan because Emperor didn’t want him doing it and that he provided her the information about his real identity. Now I think others here were right and she may have been a youngling during the massacre at the temple and saw Anakin and heard him being referred to as Darth Vader. Newest theory is that maybe she is trying to get in close with Vader so that she can turn on him and kill him.
  21. Wow that was pretty intense. Since this is pretty early won’t really go into details plus want to collect more of my thoughts and probably watch it again. Seems obvious Vader had thought of this moment for a while. He could have gone for the kill a bunch of times but definitely had ideas of how he was going to get his revenge. Interesting look at different thoughts on the Empire at this time. Yes this Vader makes the OT Vader look like a reasonable person. Glad that JEJ sounded better than he did in Rogue One.
  22. While it isn’t an AU series, there is a short story with Yoda who feels the force call to him that he will be getting a new trainee. It’s funny because he thinks fondly about how he has watched this child grow up and how much potential they have to be a great Jedi. Then he is disappointed/shocked when he realizes that Obi-Wan has been training Luke and told him to find Yoda. Yoda had been expecting to train Leia. Figured that girl who tries to sell Obi-Wan spices had to be someone in real life since it was one of those roles that seemed not really needed but seemed to be focused on too much but then found out she was played by Ewan’s real life daughter. In my earlier post bout Obi-Wan not knowing Vader/Anakin was alive. I meant I would have figured he would have known since I would assume Vader would be mentioned in whatever space news is broadcast. I don’t expect Anakin’s name to be brought up but I thought Obi-Wan knew about Anakin being called Darth Vader by the Emperor. Regarding Reva knowing bout Anakin/Vader, I think we will learn why that is soon.
  23. Well say what you will about Reva she at least carried on the long tradition of hand cutting in Star Wars. What is the life expectancy of Jawas? I now have the sudden fear of Obi-Wan’s Jawa being part of the ones that were massacred in ANH. Star Wars: continually making tragic events even more tragic Speaking of making tragic events more tragic, it was interesting to see more of Alderaan. It seems like the most normal planet we have ever been introduced to. It isn’t a planet of ice or sand or woods or a city planet. It seems like a nice hospitable planet. Though for some reason they seem to have their guards have protection for their head but no body armor. Seriously the guards here and the people at the beginning of ANH have big helmets but just regular clothes. Regarding the meat situation, I am going to assume this is just a temporary location and they have to travel to different spots when new giant creatures get killed. I will also assume they probably have something that can keep the meat fresh for a few days while they harvest it. What that is though I don’t have a clue. Though maybe they are able to create like a dry age system like they do with steaks so while the outside gets cover with mold the inside is still good so that all you have to do is have there workers cut off the mold to get it packed up once it is harvested.
  24. Okay overall really enjoyed the episode. Liked seeing Obi-Wan and Leia spending time together. I wasn’t as bothered with how Leia acted. First she apparently isn’t the most gracious person to rescue now or in the future. Also I don’t think she has control of her insight so she may sense that Obi-Wan is lying/hiding something from her but isn’t able to discern that from being able to trust him or not. With Reva, I have to wonder if this is just all her or if she is being used by Vader. I know in like the Legends cannon the Emperor wanted Vader to not continue pursuing the Jedi especially Kenobi. I can’t see him just letting things go.
  25. Well need to get some sleep and watch the episode again for more clear thoughts but a few random ones. Now I guess people can stop bitching about the Grand Inquisitor not looking right. Ten years Obi-Wan did you not read a newspaper or anything to learn about Darth Vader still being alive? So Leia is already starting to show Jedi ability with how she is able to read people like Obi-Wan and her cousin. It is like Rey in TFA. Funny Obi-Wan is waiting for a sign that Luke is showing powers that he just kind of ignored Leia.
