  1. 2 From TV Line: Five-0's Alex O'Loughlin Talks Directing Debut, Creating a 'Young' Scott Caan, and Turning Hawaii Into Newark Alex said that they were shooting Ep 825 when he was interviewed (825 should be the season finale, based on the ep count of 25 this season confirmed by Peter Lenkov awhile back). It will, however, air as Ep 824 (the next-to-last ep) instead (which also happened last season--they flipped the airdates of the last 2 eps around). He also said 825/now 824 is the ep in which he gets a "Story by" credit, for coming up with the story for the episode. Somebody else then probably took his idea & put it into either "full fledged" script form or "teleplay" form for filming; usually the credit that goes with "Story by (Name)" is "Teleplay by (Name)". The story involves a SEAL team, but that's all I know. Alex also said that Terry O'Quinn returns as Joe White &, because of his schedule, Scott isn't in the ep made from Alex's idea/story. And... From Matt's Inside Line (about the 8th Q&A down, 1 of 2 after a pic of Spencer & JJ from Criminal Minds), we have a little more info on the ep in which Catherine returns, looking for Steve's & Five-0's help in finding a missing uranium deposit on the island before it can be used in dirty bombs. The ep is scheduled for airing on Friday, April 13th (a pretty appropriate date for an ep involving Catherine, if you ask me--though I liked her when she was introduced as Steve's sometime lover & secret liaison when Steve & Five-0 needed Naval Intelligence's skills & assistance in cases, I haven't liked Catherine since she suddenly left Steve to go on a CIA mission when he was about to propose to her; though, in all fairness, she didn't know he was about to propose. The show apparently wrapped filming on S8 on Monday (the 26th). If I did it right, here's a nice, & cute, video from Meaghan Rath, I think from her trailer, talking about how she'd just finished filming her last S8 scene, & thanking everybody for everything this season. She ended by saying "I luh you." ("luh" instead of "love"--it was a "thing" awhile ago, but I can't remember why).
  2. The episode will air twice in a row, from 10PM Eastern Time-approximately 12:35AM Eastern Time tonight/early tomorrow morning (10PM Eastern & 11:17PM Eastern scheduled start times); then it will repeat once again, at 1:54AM Eastern Time late tonight/early tomorrow morning. This is per the Titan TV website. The scheduled running time for the ep is 1 hour, 17 minutes, if you're setting your recorders (I'd add extra space on either side of the time/start recording early & let it run a little after the next show starts, just to make sure you get it all).
  3. Two (2) articles from USA Today, which are actually a couple days old but, as far as I know, they haven't been linked here yet. 5. From Adweek: The Good Doctor Is Bringing the 10 p.m. Broadcast Drama Back to Life and Might Save ABC Too An article about the success of The Good Doctor, the new, hit ABC medical drama co-produced by the production companies belonging to DDK & the guy who was executive producer on House. I liked the article.
  6. I was at the Banquet site the other day, lamenting the fact they don't make the TV dinners with the "classic" 4 compartment trays, like we had when I was growing up. All the TV dinners I seem to see now are either just an entree (like a big pack of frozen fried chicken pieces--& I think they've even stopped making frozen fried chicken using actual pieces; they're using strips or something), or a large/family-sized side or something else, or a 2-compartment entree together with a side. I preferred Swanson dinners over Banquet (but I liked Banquet pot pies over Swanson's--go figure). I didn't even know Banquet made frozen cheese sticks until you mentioned them. I've never seen those--at least by Banquet. I didn't see them when I was over at the website the other night either. Unfortunately for you, I'm thinking they're gone.
  7. Also: Doris hasn't died... yet. Neither did Lori from S2. Tani isn't dead either. Neither is Lynn (Steve's current girlfriend) or Melissa (Danny's current girlfriend) or Rachel (Danny's ex).

  10. According to multiple entertainment news sources, including TV Line, the 8th season finale will air on the regular day, at the regular time. In this case, Friday, May 18th at 9PM Eastern/8PM Central. Although the list of season finale dates shows Blue Bloods' season finale as airing on Friday, May 11th--the week before H50's--at least for now it seems H50 is only airing a single-episode finale this year, in its regular timeslot, on Friday, May 18th.
  11. I think that line makes the whole PSA. It just does. And she only won the Oscar 3 weeks ago today, so the PSA was done really recently, since I doubt she'd tempt the wrath of the whatever from high atop the thing by saying she won it before it was awarded. You know?
  12. Various former cast members of TWW (Martin, Allison [fresh off her Oscar win], Richard, Bradley, Dulé, Mary [McCormack], Janel, & Jimmy [Smits]) have gotten together to film a 2-minute PSA, on voting rights & fighting voter suppression policies, by Now This for the Political Action Committee Let America Vote, headed by Jason Kander. Here's an article about the reunion & Here's a direct link to the PSA (which is also embedded in the linked article) Kander is the former Secretary of State from Missouri, a former 44th District Representative in the Missouri House of Representatives, & the narrow loser of the 2016 US Senate election from Missouri. He's also a CNN Contributor & Host of the Crooked Media podcast Majority 54, as well as the grand-nephew of award (including Tonys, Grammys, & Emmys)-winning composer John Kander (of the composing team Kander & Ebb).

  15. Sorry! Read post below for the links that were originally here, plus others. A link I was trying to post was a real PITA, & I had to start the whole post over to finally get the tricky link to work. I think everything works as it should now. If not, let me know.
  16. The above article is from TVLine.com. This is Entertainment Weekly's Interview with Alex regarding his involvement in a possible S9; THERE ARE DIFFERENCES IN CONTENT BETWEEN THE INTERVIEWS, SO IF YOU READ 1, READ BOTH. For 1 thing, Alex says in the EW article that they're filming Ep 825/193 for the overall series right now (which should be the S8 finale, according to the last ep count for the season posted on social media by Peter Lenkov). So, depending on when they started the ep, they should be wrapping for the season within the next week, I guess. Alex says that if they can make a deal, he's open to doing another couple of years (if he actually means "a couple", that could take us through the end of S10... & the original lasted 12 seasons). Alex also reiterates that the reason he previously wanted to leave after this season had to do with his back, in particular, breaking down so badly (from injuries incurred by doing his own stunts, when he probably should've let his stunt double handle things) he could barely move the last couple of years. But he got into a stem cell trial, has had a bunch of stem cells injected, infused by IV, put into his body however they do it, & he's installed a rehab gym in his garage & has been doing workouts & he feels physically a lot better. As far as S9 looks, according to the Cancellation Predictor thing on the TVLine site, it appears H50 (along with the other CBS Friday night shows) is "a safe bet" for renewal by the end of the season; most, if not all, sites like this concur. A couple of other things in favor of renewing the show for S9 are: September 20, 2018 marks the 50th anniversary year of the debut of the original series (so I'd like to believe CBS might wanna have the reboot around to help mark the occasion), & Ep 907 should be the 200th ep of the reboot (& I know that, just because a series is reaching a milestone number of episodes in a season it doesn't always end up staying on the air long enough to celebrate that milestone). If CBS was so agreeable to letting Scott have 1 ep off for every 5 Alex does in a season, & that seemed to work out OK, I don't see how they couldn't do the same deal with Alex (or give him pretty much anything else he wants) to keep him onboard. Though I'm not sure I'd let Alex & Scott have the same episode off, if it can be avoided--that'd put Grover in charge of "the kids". In & of itself, that's not a bad thing; I just think it'd be better if Steve was around, with Grover, if Danny couldn't be, & vice-versa.
  17. Daniel Dae Kim was among the panelists last night in LA as the Los Angeles PaleyFest, put on in LA (& at least sometimes in NYC) by the Paley Center for Media, saluted The Good Doctor, the hit ABC show on which Daniel and his Production Company are Co-Executive Producers, along with House's David Shore and his Production Company. This video is about 55 minutes/a little under an hour, but I think it's worth watching; especially if you like DDK &/or The Good Doctor (or any number of other actors & actresses from the mostly veteran cast). By the way, I had almost forgotten that Will Yun Lee (H50's Sang Min) was a guest star on the episode that aired earlier this week (I think he played a doctor). And the show was renewed for a second season on ABC earlier in the month.
  18. Richard Schiff was among the panelists in LA last night as the Los Angeles PaleyFest, put on in LA (& at least sometimes in NYC) by the Paley Center for Media, saluted The Good Doctor, the hit ABC show which currently counts Richard among its cast. If you're 1 of the apparently few who haven't seen it yet, the show's protagonist (played by Freddie Highmore) is a medical resident who happens to be on the Autism Spectrum & have Savant Syndrome. It's based on a South Korean TV show, with the same premise, from a few seasons back. Richard's character is a doctor on the staff of the hospital where Freddie's character is eventually accepted to do his medical training, mostly after Richard's character goes to bat for him & won't take no for an answer until the hospital accepts Freddie's character as a resident-level physician employed by that hospital (the other doctors, etc., who make the decisions as to who does & doesn't get accepted as a resident, are worried--& I think probably rightfully so--that Freddie's character will be negatively affected by his Autism at a critical/life or death point for 1 of the patients who's been assigned to him; like Freddie won't be able to understand directions given by more senior doctors, on how to treat a patient, causing the hospital to be sued for a huge amount of malpractice damages if Freddie's character is actually allowed to treat patients & someone dies or is left with irreparable damage due to his Autism). Once Freddie's character is allowed to do his residency in the show's hospital, Richard's character becomes a mentor to him. The video's about 55 minutes long; almost an hour, anyway. It's worth watching; especially if you're a fan of Richard's, The Good Doctor, or any of the other actors in the cast. The show was recently renewed for a second season beginning in the Fall of this year.
  19. I know. To get so close, a month away, then for it not to happen... just, wow. I'm sure they're devastated now, but like I think he said in the article I linked to, he (& I presume his wife), believes he & his wife will get to be with him eventually, in Heaven.
  20. Kind of ironic in light of the pending bankruptcy-related closure of the chain, along with sister chain Babies 'я' Us (I got the backward R by using the Russian keyboard on my iPhone).
  21. Here's another blunder: In the 2-part Starsky & Hutch episode "The Plague", the name of the hospital where the victims, including Hutch, are being treated has a different name in each episode. It's called "Lincoln Hospital" in 1 episode & plain old "City Hospital" in the other (I think it's "City" in Part 1, then "Lincoln" in Part 2); and the building shown as the hospital, whatever name it's going by, is the building they call "Memorial Hospital" in most other episodes of Starsky & Hutch (& most other Spelling-Goldberg TV shows) where they need a hospital. I can forgive, pretty much, using the same generic, stock-type footage of the same hospital in all of the Spelling-Goldberg produced shows; even though I don't think any of them took place in the same city, & sometimes that hospital wasn't even supposed to be in the city in which that series was set. I mean, it's cheaper for the production company to use the same generic hospital exterior in all their series, & I even know that. What I have a harder time forgiving is when the same person writes all the parts of a multi-part episode of a series & they give some pivotal location, or character, in the episode a different name in each part, without explanation (as happened here). I mean, didn't the guy even proofread the script(s), & catch the mistake before turning it/them into the producers, or ABC, or whomever/wherever it/they went in the next step in the production process? Also, most TV series & movies have someone in charge of continuity--making sure that the actors are wearing the same costumes/jewelry, their hair is the same length &/or color, if their sleeves are up or down, a piece of clothing, or pair of glasses, is on or off, etc., in a TV production or movie as long as they're still filming the same scene or at least filming the same episode/the same part of the episode. What I'm getting at is, if they have someone to make sure nothing changes in each scene that isn't supposed to, & they have a copy of the script to consult for that, how did the Continuity person also miss the changing names, for what's supposed to be the same hospital, from the first part of the episode to the second? Heck, how did Paul Michael Glaser &/or David Soul miss the difference in a script read-through or during actual filming, & have somebody fix it (though I know there were times when they really didn't care about what was in the scripts, & stuff like that)? You'd think, as long as they'd have to be working with that script/that episode, 1 of them would've noticed & had it fixed. Sigh...

  24. Regarding being unable to see that recipe, (or websites you've been blocked from--like other people's Twitter accounts, or articles behind paywalls on newspaper &/or magazine sites) I recently read about a "trick" you can do that's supposed to give you access to stuff like blocked social media accounts or other blocked websites, or paywall restricted articles. If you're trying to read a website/article you've been blocked from reading, just switch your web browser into Private or Incognito Mode (or whatever similar word your browser manufacturer uses for it), THEN type the address for the website you're trying to read. If you try it, just remember to switch your browser mode to Private/Incognito BEFORE typing the web address in. It works for me when I try to read a Twitter account I got blocked from reading for reasons I'm still trying to understand (& it wasn't for posting something I shouldn't have on that account; I mostly just read it--whoever blocked me apparently thinks I posted something I shouldn't have on another site they oversee). And that's cool, because I've been trying to find a reliable workaround so I could still read it since I got blocked. But... so far it hasn't worked when I've tried to read online articles behind paywalls, even though it's supposed to work that way too. I guess I'll have to see if I can find a different workaround for articles. But I hope it works for you.
