  1. In recent years he played the grandfather, “Pops”, on The Goldbergs.
  2. That’s doubtful, at least within the family, since Harry & Meghan have already announced she’ll be called “Lili” (which happens to be the Welsh spelling of the name, it was pointed out upthread). And yes I’m guessing you were joking with the “Betty” thing since she’s an Archie comics character.
  3. Country singer Barbara Mandrell (popular in the 1970s & 1980s; she also had a very popular NBC variety show, Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell Sisters [starring with her sisters Louise, a fellow country singer, & Irlene, who was also a musician but seemed to be more of an actress], for a number of years) announced her retirement years ago & has stuck to it. In more recent years, Canada’s superstar Country/Pop crossover female vocalist Anne Murray, who is/was also very popular here in the US (I saw her in concert in my hometown maybe 4 or 5 times; loved it) also announced her retirement, going into it with a final major tour around Canada, & has stuck to it as well.
  4. I also love this tribute to Elizabeth as the person, Harry's beloved Gran. Not Elizabeth the Queen. It also pays homage to his great grandparents who bestowed the nickname on Elizabeth. I also cannot see Harry not getting Elizabeth's approval for this. Regarding the bolded: This is just a myth Her Majesty has to approve baby names within the Royal family. She doesn’t; at least not officially. It was cleared up at the time of the birth of either Prince George or Princess Charlotte. I still am not fond of Archie as a name (I guess it makes me think of either the cartoon/comics/TV character Archie Andrews or Archie Bunker from All in the Family & Archie Bunker’s Place), but his baby sister’s name makes up for it. I like both Lilibet (if you think about it, though it wasn’t meant to it fits in with other “weird Hollywood/celebrity baby names” since the Sussexes currently live adjacent to metro LA/Hollywood, in the Santa Barbara area where many celebrities live) & Lili. Then, of course, there’s Diana. I love that each of her sons memorialized their beloved, too soon departed mother by giving their daughters her name as a middle name.
  5. Still happening on all available browsers & going through your site link on Facebook, which previously worked. Clearing cache/history also doesn’t help. The only place I can reach, if I can (which I did through your Facebook page) is the shows listing & the drop down menu which links to PM messages like this. I put in the forum URL, it starts, then an X appears where you usually get the circular arrow. iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 14.5.1 Safari Unknown Version
  6. From People Vans Co-Founder Paul Van Doren dead at 90 “He was an innovator.”
  7. Since this hasn’t been mentioned yet, I’ll do it. As of this year’s Oscars, Sir Anthony Hopkins is now the eldest male Oscar acting winner, at 83 years, 25 days (if I’ve figured correctly). He was born December 31, 1937 (I didn’t know that; that makes him & my brother “birthday twins”, except for the year—Sir Anthony is 29 years older than my brother, who was born in 1966). He replaces the late Christopher Plummer in this position, who was 82 years, 2 months, 13 days old (if I’ve figured correctly) when he won as Best Supporting Actor at the 84th Academy Awards, on February 26, 2012, for his role in Beginners. Christopher Plummer may no longer be the oldest male acting Oscar winner, but he is currently the oldest male acting Oscar nominee, having been nominated once again as Best Supporting Actor, at the 90th Academy Awards, held on March 4, 2018. He was nominated for his role as real-life billionaire J. Paul Getty in All the Money in the World. He was 88 years, 1 month, 13 days old (if I figured correctly) when he received this nomination on January 23, 2018. He was the second actor to film the role, after fellow Oscar winner Kevin Spacey. Spacey filmed the part but was later dismissed, & had his scenes cut, from the film following a same-sex harassment suit by an actor who said Spacey drunkenly groped him years ago when he (the complainant) was underage; this suit was the first of many which, to date, have resulted in Spacey coming out as gay & the effective end of his acting career.
  8. I don’t know if it still is offering this or not, but late last year I bought a new Apple device. At the time your purchase included a free year of AppleTV. So I have 3 more free months of the service.
  9. This is a strange 1… I haven’t been able to access the forums from my phone when I use my phone browser (most convenient way to read as I’m in the midst of a long term medical situation) since either late on April 16 or early April 17. I get a 503 or 504 (Community Temporarily Unavailable) message. I CAN get the Your Shows/All Shows page if I use the other browsers I’ve downloaded (Cake, Chrome, Edge)—but then I can’t get past that page on those browsers. I Here’s the strange part: I CAN get the forums, oddly enough, by going to Primetimer’s Facebook page (I went to see if I could leave a message there about my issues), clicking the link to the site home page there—it does come up—then clicking the forums link, which takes me, at least has taken me sometimes, to the topic I wanna read. CAVEAT: This ONLY seems to work/works best when I use Facebook through my app. I just tried it without using the app, because I didn’t wanna lose this post, & I wanted to double check the steps that worked, & I still get Community Unavailable. Try again later. I already tried to fix it clearing my cache, which apparently also cleans my history & cookies now; there doesn’t seem to be any choice to clean just the cache. Cleaning whatever got cleaned didn’t fix my issue. Phone: iPhone 8+ (8 Plus); Safari Browser; iOS: 14.5
  10. Actually Neil Patrick Harris has only been nominated for multiple Emmys for playing an unrepentant womanizer. He’s won 5 Emmys, yes. But, according to the Emmys’ website, 4 are for his hosting gigs on the 63rd, 65th, 66th, & 67th Annual Tony Awards & the 5th is for a guest appearance he did on Glee.
  11. From Deadline: ‘NCIS’, ‘Blue Bloods’, ‘Bull’, ‘Magnum P.I.’, ‘S.W.A.T.’ Renewed by CBS
  12. This is why he took the H50 role, from the article: It’s pretty simple, and it’s that my family is my priority. At the time, one of my sons was in elementary school, one was about to enter high school, and I really wanted them to grow up with a continuity of experience. I also really appreciated what Hawaii had to offer an Asian American family. In other words, he mostly didn’t want to uproot his kids to new schools somewhere on the Mainland in the middle of their education, because of his work situation, if he didn’t have to. Like the Obamas said they stayed in DC after his term ended so Sasha could do her Senior year at the same school she’d been in since they left Chicago.
  13. Maybe now that they have the long-awaited baby sister for their eldest child/daughter together, they won’t find the need to continue procreating since it seemed Hilaria once made a promise to her eldest child that they would try to give/give her a baby sister after a baby brother or more (she apparently wanted a sister to play with closer in age than her adult—but willing to play with a kid—half-sister from her dad’s first marriage); which came off as why they had so many children in the first place. They kept getting pregnant, hoping for another girl & getting boys. Sadly, I remember reading that at least 1 of their miscarriages would’ve resulted in that baby sister if the pregnancy hadn’t ended.
  14. From Vulture: Daniel Dae Kim in Conversation He finally discusses why he left the show, among other things. VERY interesting interview, in my opinion.
  15. From The Wrap: MacGyver to End with Season 5 at CBS Season 5 is the season currently airing. The now series finale episode will air on April 30th.
  16. And Aaron was nominated earlier this morning for another Oscar for writing the movie (he won for The Social Network in the adapted screenplay category in 2011; he’s been nominated for other Oscars since winning, & before today I’m pretty sure). Hopefully he’ll win that second Oscar this year & finally get the other half of his pair of “Oscar bookends” he started back in 2011. Since he already won the Golden Globe, hopefully that’s a good omen.
  17. Thanks for the info. If that’s true, I don’t know why ESPN didn’t use it, unless it was in a later statement released after they published what I linked, or something.
  18. From ESPN: ‘Marvelous’ Marvin Hagler, Middleweight Boxing Great, Dies at 66 Cause & manner of death were not given; just “he died unexpectedly”.
  19. It says as much in the article I linked to. Only it’s phrased more like Hilaria promised Carmen a little sister at some point—& I think she did so especially after 1 of the miscarriages Hilaria had before the births of Eduardo & Lucia (the last baby Hilaria delivered & the 1 which appeared, seemingly from nowhere, in the last couple of days) ended up being late enough in the pregnancy where you could tell the gender. It would’ve been the seemingly elusive little sister Carmen Baldwin was hoping for. I don’t think they could tell the gender(s) of the other miscarried baby/babies. I think Carmen loves her half-sister, Ireland, but at her age having a half-sister who’s a grownup like Mommy & Daddy isn’t quite as fun as having 1 to grow up with even though your grown half-sister will do all the stuff with you 1 closer to your age would. And playing with boys toys a lot isn’t fun either, especially if you’re a “girly-girl”, which she may be. I can see all this. I think the article was saying something like worrying about the pandemic was taking away wanting to be pregnant again (I could see that—a number of people are worried about what exposure to the virus [& now its variants] &/or the vaccines might do to a fetus in utero, as far as birth defects, being born on the autism scale, etc.,) so maybe they hired a surrogate & then got pregnant, accidentally, around the same time as/before the surrogate. It’s happened before. It feels like there was another point I wanted to make, but I don’t remember it now. I’ll make it when/if I find it.
  20. He almost could’ve died in my hometown in 1980, when he was the head of the National Urban League. He was invited to speak at our National Urban League chapter’s annual dinner, & was staying at the same local hotel where the dinner was held (then belonging to 1 chain, now belonging to another). To get from the room where the dinner was held to where Mr. Jordan’s room was, unfortunately you had to walk outside. He was walking back to his room, accompanied by a woman, who might’ve been involved with the local Urban League chapter (details on who she was, other than her name, have become sketchy over the four decades since), & who happened to be Caucasian. On the walk to his room, Jordan was shot by a man named Joseph Paul Franklin, Jr. He was taken to a local hospital, which had just begun using Trauma Center type protocols on appropriate patients. The local general surgeon called on to oversee Jordan’s care because he was a VIP—who happened, presumably not so coincidentally, to be African-American remained good friends with Jordan after he was discharged from ten days in our local hospital & transferred to a hospital closer to home for additional care, spending 98 days in various hospitals from the incident (sadly, the surgeon died in 2004). Jordan’s local surgeon happened, along with his family, to be a good friend of my late dad’s & our family’s, & they might’ve still been our neighbors at the time (they eventually moved elsewhere locally). My dad, who was also a local surgeon, wasn’t on Jordan’s local medical team because he had no injuries from the assassination attempt (I’m calling it like it is here) that my dad specialized in treating. As for the shooter, Joseph Paul Franklin, Jr., he was found not guilty by jurors in a 2006 Federal trial. He eventually confessed to the Jordan shooting & at least 1 other crime: the 1978 shooting of Hustler publisher, the also recently deceased Larry Flynt, who was left paralyzed from the waist down. Franklin said he shot Flynt because he included depictions of interracial sex in his magazine. Franklin was finally executed by lethal injection in 2013 in Missouri.
  21. From Parade: Alec and Hilaria Baldwin and Family Welcome Daughter Lucia to Their Brood This is Alec’s 7th child & 3rd daughter—As we probably all know, he has an adult daughter, Ireland (whom I think is a fashion model), from his first marriage to Oscar winner Kim Basinger. Including Lucia, Alec also has 6 children now—2 girls (the eldest, Carmen, & now the youngest, Lucia) & 4 boys (the children in between the 2 girls—Rafael, Leonardo, Romeo & Eduardo) with his present wife, Hilaria. As Hilaria delivered Eduardo only 5 months before Lucia arrived, it’s not known (& probably nobody’s business but the Baldwin family’s) whether Lucia arrived via surrogate or adoption. Also not yet known are the baby’s vital statistics—length, weight, etc.
  22. From CBS Sports: Tiger Woods Undergoes More Procedures at Cedars-Sinai As His Recovery Continues After Car Accident He underwent the additional procedures Friday.
  23. From The Hollywood Reporter (THR): Fred Segal, Icon of Los Angeles Fashion and Retail, Dies at 87 He died Thursday, in Santa Monica, California, of complications of a stroke he suffered in 2014.
  24. If Lady Gaga gets her dogs back & they aren’t already microchipped, I would hope that doing that would be the first item on the agenda for either her or an assistant to take care of.
  25. Multiple media outlets are reporting Tiger has been moved 20 miles, from Harbor-UCLA Medical Center to Cedars-Sinai Hospital. He’s expected to stay there a week before being able to return to Florida.
