S05.E22: Reunion Part 3
haydensterling replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
It's weird. I just realized that Kim makes me so fucking pissed that I can't even snark. I seriously feel like I need to steal some of my husband's blood pressure medication. Too bad that shit doesn't get you high. -

swordqueen, agreed. The dog is another source of narcissistic supply for Kim and her bottomless black hole of need. -

Okay, so who's calling Animal Control to report the dangerous dog at Kim's house? You know someone out there is dying to do it. -

Kim is an evil bitch who mos def has that dog. She also lies about everything on the planet--what was the dog story the way you were going to tell it, Kim? You fucking garbage lady. Gross. Nasty narcissist addict bitch, walk away Kyle, for your own sanity. Andy softballed this entire reunion and I hope social media is blowing up about this right now. What a waste. I will be amazed if Eileen returns. -
S05.E21: Reunion Part 2

I actually think zoeysmom is one of the more balanced posters here; I see her thumbing up things which are positive about Kim and Brandi so with that in mind I'll move along. Are we all ready for tonight? Weirdly enough, (or not) it all feels kind of anticlimactic because we've seen it all already, what with the First Looks and previews. I think I might let it DVR and then watch right after so I can FF in between commercials. Please let the smoking gun be someone announcing that they're leaving, and please let that person be Brandi or Kim! Wouldn't it be exciting if Andy fired one of them at the very end? Wishful thinking. No way that wouldn't have leaked already. -
Interestingly, the two women on this franchise who seem to make it a point to ignore, walk away from, or otherwise shut down when approached by Kim or Brandi are Eileen and Lisa V. Neither of them had much story this season, which makes me wonder if that's Andy's way of punishing them for not getting down and rolling in the shit like the good little puppets they're supposed to be. Lisa made some attempts to be polite or even acquaintance-level friendly with Evil B up until Brandi slapped her and then Lisa shut her right out again. She hasn't even had much to say this reunion--none of the women really have. It's been all Kim with a side of Brandi, all the time. Seriously, this is the weirdest wrap up for a season I've ever watched. It's certainly the weirdest reunion I've ever watched. Surely, Andy understands that viewers actively loathe Kim at this point, right? She has far surpassed Brandi hate and is way up in the stratosphere of loathing, for me, anyhow. How can he not see this? The situation with Kingsley and Alexia alone is enough to make even the most level-headed, willing-to-look-at-both-sides viewers disgusted at Kim's words and actions. It's honestly very confusing to me--what the fuck is going on here. If Kim stays, Bravo will lose viewers, I think. I mean, I'm pretty sure that no one wants to watch a narcissist junkie and her her violent dog bully and attack people. I don't watch the other franchises--has Andy ever fired anyone for bad behavior? Maybe the smoking gun is Kim telling us that she won't be returning next season. Please god, let that be it.
-
Why did Andy let Kim run this fucking reunion? Seriously, was it so we could see yet again how stoned to the tits she is? What was the fucking point? I hope it's so that he can now fire her with a clear conscience but I doubt it. I give a fuck about Lisa Rinna's texts. Big fucking deal. The ugliest person on the show finally got told she was an ugly human being and I'm supposed to feel shocked? Color me not.

Jimmy McGill: Go, Land Crabs!
haydensterling replied to wrestlesflamingos's topic in Better Call Saul
It looks like there are some here who have what feels to me like a very one-note take w/r/t Jimmy's character. I have a tough time with this, because I see Vince Gilligan as a nuanced writer, to say the least, and the way Bob Odenkirk is acting the part is very layer-y, like, layer cake even. A good man at heart (is that another reason he might end up choosing the name? If no one else thinks of him as one, he'll call himself Goodman? Eh? You like my cornpone theorizing?) who ends up doing some bad things. So if any of you lot are here, could you take the time to explain your point of view a bit further to me? It seems that that would make VG kind of a bad writer, and Odie a bad actor. Forgive the "Odie". I saw it used on tumblr the other day and I can't shake it. -

This isn't Breaking Bad, however, and he's not Saul yet. -
My god, thank you for saying this. Jimmy is the protagonist of the show. He can be as complex as they want him to be.

S05.E21: Reunion Part 2
haydensterling replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Way back in the days of TWoP, I often said that Andy was a real cunt who was positively gleeful in the ways he set up this set of franchises where we get to watch grown women acting like fucking monkeys. Given the things he chooses to tell the editors/story dept. to focus on, he's pretty much showed us exactly what he thinks of women, IMO. Apart from his sexual orientation, I think he's kind of a misogynist--which is a word I do not throw around lightly--and probably calls us shit like 'breeders' behind our backs. This is partly why I think we'll never be rid of Brandi or Kim--he loves it when women get ugly with one another, and these two provide that in spades. It's like the nectar of the gods for him. Another thing I always wondered about is, if, back in Brandi's good old days, when her star was rising and she and Lisa were besties, if she didn't hang a ton with Andy, and if she and Andy mutually dished dirt on the rest of the women. It's just something I can see him doing, and definitely something I can see him doing with her. I can also see him pushing Brandi to be the attack dog that doesn't actually bite, unlike Kingsley. I just think Brandi has dirt on the women that was passed on to her via Andy; I mean, anything's possible, right? I'll bet it's nasty stuff, too. I don't know why I have this suspicion, but.. As an aside, there is a sort of astonishing amount of disgust being levied at both Brandi and Kim right now across the intertubes, which is really nice to see, because they suck. I think I may be one of the few, but I love the way Kyle looks at the reunion. She should wear red lipstick more often, it makes her look glam and I dig it. If I have to run out for groceries, you can be damn sure I'm going to have a coat of Russian Red or Rouge Dior on, even if I'm still in pajamas. I'm just built that way. Cannot leave the house without a red lippy. I also love the sleekness of her hair, and I think the color of the dress complements her so well. Everyone at this reunion looks a little dressed down, don't they? There was one--can't recall which year, I think it was Taylor's last season--but everyone was dolled up to the nines. The dresses are much more understated this go-round, I think. Maybe? Yes? No? I don't know, I'm in a state of 100& emotional pain because I had to feed my dog earlier today and I pinched a nerve or something in my back so I took one of my husband's Tramadol, okay, I took like five of his Tramadol and then replaced what I stole with something that looks totally different, like those nice capsule Tylenols that are gray and blue and fuck it, I'm sure he won't notice, I mean, it's not like he needs them or anything, maybe I'll just check myself in to the goddamned hospital so they can take care of me for five, seven, or nine days. Or eight. I think that when presented with a multiple choice type of question, Kim should always respond with 'the answer is d, all of the above' because it works and it's also a line from a Digital Underground song that just came on Spotify. Brandi's BS about 'her kids' is so ridiculous. Bitch, you say shit on camera about these women all the time--I'm sure if I were to go back and watch I could probably catch you doing it in every single episode--that could have a negative or hurtful impact on their kids, the fuck are you blathering on about how much kids matter to you with your woe-is-me panicky, fake tears. We are on to you, Brandi's ghostwriter. Please pass it along to her. Tell her that I think she looks like Silly Putty, too with her increasingly bad plastic surgery. Thanks. If the show keeps both Brandi and Kim--I feel hopeful that Brandi might out the door at this point, but Kim is going to be there till hell freezes over--I'm going to be so bummed, because I love this board and all of you, and I have no idea where I can go to get this level of snark and catcalling. Somewhat OT query: is there another Howives forum that most of you watch and post about? I can't quit you people! Has anyone saved the BH thread from TwoP? Damn I 'd love to read that one. I got some zingers in there, every once in a while. That place was what it was because of the forums. I think we're keeping the spirit alive, yeah? -
S05.E21: Reunion Part 2

Ah, thank you for reminding me to go blow up Twitter. Eileen was fucking stupendous, though, I will admit. Even though Rinna didn't get to say a lot, what she did say was on point. I can't believe I hate Kim more than I hate Brandi. Who is made of Silly Putty. -

Also. Kim was fucking high again tonight. What the blue dilly fuck does Andy think I'M smoking, that I wouldn't notice this? And he deigns to dignify anything she says with any kind of response? Props to Rinna for asking if Kathy's God. Good lord, that was a massive shitshow of the highest fuckery and the worst thing of all is that they are still pushing this 'poor Kim, poor BG' bullshit. Andy, tell the story dept. that most of us are just not buying it. If we don't get some honesty out of the next episode I really am done with this show. Of course Kim would try to keep her children from Kyle. Of course she would. Fucking narcissist bitch. It was just a little dog bite, Kim? Was that it? A little dog bite that required two surgeries. Kim doesn't give a shit about her sisters or their children or her own because she is a junkie and a narcissist. The Kingsley crap just adds to my hate for her. Irresponsible dog owners work my fucking nerves because they give the rest of us a bad name. Fuck you for real, Kim Richards. Oh my god, between this and Better Call Saul this week I need all the goddamned drinks. -

I can't even say anything other than Kim is disgusting. I am taken aback by how repellent she is. I don't know what else there is to say. She is a gaslighter. She is disgusting. And she's going to be here next season. -
Jimmy McGill: Go, Land Crabs!
haydensterling replied to wrestlesflamingos's topic in Better Call Saul
I always loved the idea that you can't con an honest man. Jimmy (at this stage in the game, anyhow) has only taken advantage of people who are scummy enough to get scammed, and I'm more than okay with that. There is something inherently appealing about the idea of the good bad guy or the morally gray hero--look at any film noir or straight up crime picture from the thirties onward and there's a rich history for this kind of character--they've certainly long been my favorites. My biggest hope is that we'll see some kind of real friend for Jimmy/Saul; oddly enough I'm not sure that person is going to be Mike, though I wouldn't mind it being Mike. Mike has a set of rules and a code, but the end of this season makes me wonder if Jimmy is overly concerned with that sort of thing right now. This website has proven to be pretty interesting in terms of the legality of what Jimmy does in each episode so far, I like it quite a bit. http://www.legalethicsforum.com/blog/2015/03/the-ethics-of-saul-goodman-episodes-1-and-2-uno-and-mijo.html -
I'm a bit concerned that what we heard from Jimmy to Kim regarding her concern and the hug "that was nice" was also suppressed rage. I really want Kim and Jimmy's relationship to continue in some way. I don't think he's pissed at her--he apologized for giving her shit--but I think he's emotionally pretty shut down right now and I seriously just need this guy to have one person that he trusts to have his back actually have his back. It doesn't have to be romantic. He just needs someone who accepts him for whoever he is. Part of the problem being that I think Jimmy himself doesn't know, though it appears he's definitely moving in a direction. It would be really gross if Kim ended up with Hamlin, although I sort of always thought this was where the show was headed anyhow, and though shipping is about the least of my concerns I just thought I'd throw this out there.
-
I also thought the ending was kind of ham-fisted, to be honest. What I would have liked to see was Jimmy standing outside the offices, twisting Marco's ring, doing his showtime speech to work himself up and then a fade. Something, anything other than the heavy-handed "And now, I'm Saul!" ending that we got. I suspect we're still going to see hints of Jimmy in the next season, but the way that this season was wrapped up didn't work for me.
-
If Jimmy is going to be the mirror image of Walter White, why am I watching this show? I watched BrBa, I loved it, I'm not interested in seeing the same story twice and I have hopes that Vince and Co. are a lot smarter than that. If anything, I'm trying to watch this show as divorced from BrBa as I can, because at this point I really am more interested in Jimmy than in seeing Walt or Jesse show up on my screen--although not gonna lie, I kind of wanted that when this was first announced. I never thought Saul was a bad guy either, so I'm not upset that Jimmy's going to get there, what makes me sad is the regular ass-kicking and emotional beating he's taken on the road to Saul.

Was I flabbergasted during the Howard scene? Yes. Yes, I was.

Kim Wexler: She Has a Two-Year Plan
haydensterling replied to wrestlesflamingos's topic in Better Call Saul
I'm wondering if we're going to see a Kim who is increasingly concerned about Jimmy next season. I don't think she bought his sudden ability to deal with Chuck's betrayal at all. And when she realizes Jimmy didn't team up with the other law firm I have a feeling she's going to be hearing alarm bells. Also, loved Jimmy's 'that was nice' in response to her hug. I can't help it, I pretty much ship them.
