  1. My mistake. I did not see another episode forum had already been created. Please delete this thread.
  2. I know Laurence Fishburne and Anthony Anderson are both producers on the show, but I suppose no one wanted to pay for them, or any other former Black-ish cast members, to come back for the finale. That's a bit of a shame.
  3. I'm pretty sure it was Owen. He told Teddy he spoke with Catherine last week about seeking funding for his plan to teach first aid, and thought that caused her to look at the budget. I'd also tell Teddy not to worry about being fired, given firings rarely stick for main characters at Grey-Sloane. I think Meredith has been fired twice, April was fired, Alex was fired and Richard (maybe?) was also fired.
  4. Please don't tell me they are setting up Ben to return to work as a doctor.
  5. Airing 5/23/24.
  6. Deidre Hall! In reality, even when you have the rights to a particular story, it can take years from script to actual completed film, so the plan to take Jack out of the running for late night really shouldn't have worked. Ava's mother never fails to be awful, and I thought J. Cameron Smith and Jean Smart did a great job of showing just how awkward and uncomfortable the reunion was for Deborah and her sister.
  7. I was glad it didn't turn into a situation where something Ava said to the reporter that ended up sinking Deborah. I also loved people repeatedly shutting down Ava by telling her they had a boyfriend or girlfriend. I did appreciate that Deborah was able to get over herself, and actually sit down and listen to the students who were upset over her past material. It did feel like a season finale, but I am glad it was not one.
  8. Honestly, he'd probably be a bad risk for the bank in terms of repayment, even with the house as collateral. He's in his 70s, has no job and probably has an income limited to social security.
  9. The whole storyline annoys me. Finish your year at SAD. Transfer the credits you can. Take out student loans for University of Chicago, and do your research on a major that makes sense, and has a good track record in terms of job placement. Don't take shady hacking jobs that could potentially end with you being arrested. I just want to scream at these people sometimes.
  10. I mean, wasn't he kind of a complete psycho?
  11. It was very weird. At the beginning of the season, they made it seem like he was taking unprescribed pain medications, because he was acting so shady about the whole thing. Then it turned out to be testosterone, and you kind of wonder if they had some other storyline in mind, but changed it because they were told it was the final season and the number of episodes was so limited. I think Joey was a homeless teenager who came to the hospital, and Bailey/Ben ended up fostering him. I don't recall if they actually adopted him, as I think he was already 18 or 19 when they took him in.
  12. You are missing nothing. I kept expecting someone to point that out to Owen, but instead we got Teddy and Catherine acting like he just thought up the concept of teaching people how to do first aid himself. I did enjoy Bailey yelling at Adams that she already knew the patient could end up in liver failure and asking him if he thought she was okay with that.
  13. I'm very confused about the Hughes storyline. She was looking for funding to support Crisis One, correct? Instead, one of the funders wants to take the entire thing national and have Hughes move across the country to consult somehow? Does this make any sense? And is it wrong that I completely forgot that Sully and Vasquez were married at one time? Maybe he really isn't the great catch Ross seems to think he is.
  14. The actress who played Quinn looked so much like Jennifer Lawrence, I, for a moment, was asking how in the world they got her for the episode. I was a little confused at the end when Quinn was being walked out. They initially handed her the cane, then took it back. Was that supposed to be a sign that the disability was fake too?

  17. You can read the Stephen King book 11/22/63 or watch the Hulu miniseries. It's all about how a time traveler tries to prevent the assassination. It offered the interesting idea of "time pushing back" to try and stop the time traveler from messing with events. I don't know why it is, but I always remember the 80s episode where the man is living in a world where the language suddenly changes, and everyone starts spouting nonsense except for him (for example the word "dinosaur" is used instead of "lunch,") leaving him unable to communicate.
  18. It seems like student loans would make the most sense. I know it's generally not a great idea to weigh yourself down in debt, but if he has a plan and is going to go for a major that is in demand and leads to a good paying job, a student loan may be worth it.
  19. Can't say that is too surprising. They've done very little with the character this season, and the longer they stay on the show, the more expensive an actor gets.
  20. Yes! The actor looked like he was closing in on 50. The acting was fine, but the casting person really should have tried a little harder to find someone who looked age appropriate. It was amusing watching Olivia squirm and try to come up with a justification for pursuing the cases when confronted by Sykes. And Sykes was essentially right. Olivia was doing it for herself, not because she cared about getting justice for anyone.
  21. I think at least the New York County DA refrains from prosecuting because they really are busy doing other things (they oversee hundreds of attorneys and a huge office), and their presence at the prosecutor table would immediately turn a case into a spectacle. The handling of the perp's former victim did make things feel like a SVU episode. I also thought we might get a "Is this because I'm a lesbian?" moment when Baxter and Nolan were arguing alone in Baxter's office, as it seemed like passions were running high and they might just kiss.
  22. Yeah, the ones they showed weren't exactly hard hitting. I did wonder why the introduction for DJ was so mean spirited. I did like Ava and Deborah showing some growth, with Ava insisting on some boundaries and Deborah accepting them for the most part. I really did love Deborah's workaround of having Josefina read off insults to Ava. I also really liked the NA meeting. It gave you a good idea of how Deborah's mind works. Something just clicks inside her head when she hears applause, and her five year chip speech to DJ suddenly morphs into a stand up act. DJ was right that it is like an addiction for Deborah.
  23. I was very confused by the episode. Can an ambulance, even a private one, really just drop off a person with a serious injury at a fire station instead of a hospital for care at the patient's request? I would think all parties would be setting themselves up for a serious lawsuit if something went wrong. And so Ben isn't actually taking pain killers, just testosterone? And I can't even with Carina throwing a tantrum and flouncing out of her arbitration. It shouldn't effect the claim, but it makes it look like she doesn't treat the process seriously. On a positive note, I did think the actress who played Maya did a good job at telegraphing how big a mistake she instantly realized she was making when she initially invited her brother to come live with her. Finally, did those people douse the interior of their car with gasoline? Even presuming the embers from the fire did hit the fireworks they had in the trunk, I'm not sure it would cause the entire car to explode within seconds.
