  1. How would he know. This daughters clean up after him and clean the bathrooms. (and decorate his bedroom, do his laundry, and cook his food.). He just has to be lord of the manner and set the rules.
  2. I think this was totally on purpose. She needs to get some attention and thinks her posts will distract from Jill. Not happening.
  3. I also am very near sighted. There are mail order places that make lenses, even no-line bifocals, in any prescription less expensively than the eye doctor. Warby Parker comes to mind, but Consumer Reports had a list in this month's magazine. Also try Costco. I have heard very good things about their optical department. i just came home from my yearly eye appointment. I asked for all the measurements I will need, and I am planning to check out all the places you folks have recommended to get an extra pair. I kept my vision insurance when I retired, so that paid for a huge chunk of my glasses today. But I really would like to have a backup, so as soon my eyes aren't dilated any more I will start to shop. I wear progressive lenses, so I'm interested to see how this works.

  5. These are actually great names when compared to some names I have heard. We had a mom in our ICU name her daughter Meconium because she thought it was such a beautiful sounding word. Sadly, a true story. (A little worse than Spurgeon, but not by much.)
  6. I watched an episode last night with a very cute, petite blond young woman and a very tall man (I missed the first few minutes, but I think they were married) who was a professional athlete, I think. The wanted a "grand" house, but they each needed their own huge bedroom and bathroom, plus other rooms for their own use. I get that some couples sleep in different bedrooms, but it seemed like they didn't spend much time together at all. They bought a huge house, and he had "his rooms" and she had "her rooms". Not something I had seen before. They seemed like two really nice people, and they seemed nice to each other, too.
  7. I was just checking Jill's book on Amazon, and there are at least 5 other "biographies" of Jill by various authors, along with a couple of other books. I guess she has become a hot topic.
  8. That won't happen for several more children. Being pregnant and taking pictures of her bored, poorly dressed children is the only thing she has in her life. That and feeling very superior to everyone else.
  9. Too bad Jessa was never able to watch Hyacinth Bucket. But I'm sure if it is a girl she will have some plant name.
  10. This is what will happen any time any Duggar is mentioned in any magazine, newspaper, wedding announcement or obituary. With a picture of smug-looking Josh included. I'm sure this will happen in any review of Jill's book, too. Anything they do--good, bad or indifferent--will mention the Family Felon. He is the albatross around the neck of every family member, and the internet will never forget.
  11. Do the Rods abide by the accountability partner rules? I doubt Jill can go alone.
  12. It makes me wonder how clean Joy keeps her bathroom or her floors at home.
  13. Members of this family think nothing of walking barefoot in a hospital, so I'm sure Joy didn't think twice about her daughter walking barefoot in a public restroom. The Howlers were shown on their TV show cleaning the cat box with their bare hands. Apparently there is no mention of cleanliness or hygiene in the Wisdom Books. (or common sense, for that matter)
  14. I use Bono on my LVP and don't have any streaks. I use a spray bottle and a microfiber mop pad. I find it cleans up very well.
  15. So, is Bible College BME's version of the Duggar's ALERT? The Rod sons may not learn how to dig trenches or march in a line, but they also won't meet any girls unless the parents approve. Different method to the same end. Learn to obey and stay on the straight and narrow.
  16. Wait until the second episode. Your question will be answered.
  17. Opposite--Sunny leaned in for the kiss. They let the awkward moment pass with no lasting problems. Sunny's status is answered in this first new episode.
  18. I just finished binging the whole series. It does get better after the first episode. I didn't find the case as absorbing as pervious years, but it was well done. I was so happy that this came back. Big spoiler:
  19. Are girls even allowed at this "school"? How much socialization can there be with only 10 students? This sounds like deliberate isolation--or a cult. I hope he gets real food.
  20. Where I used to live, apparently the distance of the outlets from the floor was dependent on how far the electrician could bend over, within reason. Some guys could bend to install an outlet a foot from the floor, others two feet. Some skinny guys would put them near the 5 inch baseboards. It really did vary depending who was hired to install the plugs. I'm not sure about the rules where I live now, but all of my plugs (in a new build) are about 2 feet off the floor. At least they are all the same height. I don't know if there is an actual code here or not, but as long as they are all the same I don't mind.
  21. I kept thinking about how much insurance must be costing. They keep saying how much the owners can earn for so many weeks at such and such a price. But that cannot be all profit. They never mention the costs involved: insurance, cleaning and laundry service before each new rental date, plumbers and repair services, and having to redo rooms when some big party trashes the house. And someone to fill all those "self-watering" flower pots. I think there would be more liability with a huge "luxury" party house like this than an average family cabin.
  22. I was allowed full say when my parents wanted to redecorate my room. Color, furniture, window covering---my room, my choice. Luckily, I wanted a pretty tame room with nothing too dramatic. When I moved out for college, they repainted the color they preferred, and all was good. It became a "guest room" (that no one ever used), with plenty of storage for my mom. But my mother did not decorate my room for me. It is one way I learned what I liked and could show some independence. It was part of growing up. Jill does not want her kids to grow up and have their own thoughts. She wants to remain in charge forever. I wonder if she was ever given personal "choices" when she was growing up. Maybe her mother was in charge until she married and left home. Jill apparently is calling the shots in the homes of her married, adult "children". I wonder if Nurie or NotNurie change anything that mama has "decorated".
