  1. That seems like an odd accusation to levy here, given that there have been no death threats toward actors, which automatically places it head and shoulders above pretty much anywhere else. Also, I'm sensing that you're a Regina fan, maybe? While I'm not, I can say that the treatment I've received elsewhere for disliking Regina among Regina fans (say on tumblr) is not even worth mentioning in comparison with this place. I don't think I've ever seen someone who hates Regina on this forum attack another poster for liking her.
  2. Cersei is Robert's widow, and I don't think anyone has ever called her Cersei Baratheon, not even during her coronation.
  3. I think the moment I was sold on Sawyer/Juliet was when they woke up to the phone ringing and he used her back as a table to answer it. Something about that (besides the hotness) just locked me in on them forever.
  4. Ugh. This show. It's like, it looks not quite as bad going into the episode, and then you can just start uncovering all the layers of idiocy like a plaster mask of Ali over a latex mask of Wilden over a doll face over a camera that is being fed into Wrick's eyes, which have been transplanted into Mary Drake's head. The Bros can sometimes be hit or miss (see: everything to do with Charlotte/Kenneth DiLaurentis) but I really can't wait for their comedy platinum this week.
  5. A couple of thoughts: - Ali lightly jogging past the screen was neatly reminiscent of every other time she's lightly jogged past the screen, especially backlit by the headlights of a car. - Why on Earth will Ali be calling herself Mrs. Rollins once "he's coming"?
  6. Well, I have but this to say: POOCHIE'S DEAD! *insert Krusty the Klown laugh*
  7. Ever since the conversation with Sansa, I've thought Baelish knew because he figured it out, not because he just happened to know like all the other suggestions (Reed, Wylla, etc.). Varys probably could figure out the truth. He didn't need to witness it, he's just intelligent.
  8. Liam is for sure the episode MVP, perhaps the series MVP in a literal sense. The value of his callout is one of the strongest messages this show can be sending, possibly only behind Hanna's smack down of Gabriel a couple of seasons back. Ezra is the Dolores Umbridge of this show; he's the person who damaged the hero in a manner that's on its face less significant than the main villain's actions, but more realistic and thus more resonant. A is a ghost ninja, a time-traveling super genius, an entity beyond reasoning, but Ezra is a predatory creep that most of the target audience WILL run into in life. Please don't back down from this, show.
  9. Upthread the question was asked what to call this event. Since book readers have been looking forward to the outcomes of the Queen Trials for so long, maybe we ought to call this the Green Trials?
  10. I think Sansa is pretty firmly in Jon's corner here. Her face was one of realization; if Jon is KiTN, he is an obstacle or at least a threat to Baelish's plan to be the king. She was realizing, setting him not joining in, that he's now their enemy.
  11. Earlier in the series, Tywin indicated that Loras was the heir to Highgarden, implying that Garlan and Willas were removed for simplicity's sake. They did the same with the Martells. I think it's unlikely that they'll show up. However, one could have said the same of Euron. So I guess we'll see. We have lost about 12 named characters in the last two episodes and consolidated the remaining ones under one of four banners, so we might get more supporting characters next season.
  12. "So as far as most observers can tell, there's just someone out there who can cause a huge building to explode in a horrifying conflagration at will. If that's Cersei, she ain't nothing to fuck with." That's actually a good point. Who wants to rebel against someone who can just light you up when she feels like it? When even badmouthing her gets your head smushed by her pet zombie? So much to take in here. Thanks to @Amarsir for identifying that music. The solidification of sides and the great culling was fantastic. We've got Jon, Cersei, Daenerys and the Night's King as the main rulers left in the game, which is not particularly surprising, but appreciated as plot movement actually seems to be occurring. Loved Cersei's Dark Lady of the Sith outfit. But it's interesting that she was so concerned with executing her masterstroke that she forgot that Tommen loves his wife. Still, she had to take a loss, given that Jon lost Rickon last week. And I guess Dany leaving behind Daario is supposed to be her counterpart to losing one's son or brother. *rolls eyes* I agree with some of the spec that Tyrion is starting to feel something for Dany; I always thought that was more likely than Jon/Dany anyway, which seems kind of basic to me. RIP to Pycelle, Margaery, Loras, Kevan, Mace, Lancel, Big Bird, Walder Frey, and Tommen I Baratheon. Have we ever lost that many named characters in one episode? IIRC the Red Wedding only got rid of Robb, Talisa and Catelyn. This might be the most killtacular season of them all by far.
  13. While I would have preferred Ramsay accidentally falling in the kennel with his dogs, I am at least glad I was right about death by dog food. Also, that banner coming over the Winterfell wall was so perfect.
  14. Talk about being late to the party. I have to say, I'm amused that apparently what Xander told Buffy is considered a significant enough point of contention that it has a title and definite article. I do think that his bias was on display, but of the three compromised characters (Buffy/Giles/Xander) his was the bias least responsible for nearly ending the world. If anything, Buffy and Giles deserve more scorn for creating a situation in which lying to them would assist in saving the world rather than the opposite. Other thoughts: - I feel bad for slagging on Kendra's accent now (my parents are both West Indian and holy crap) but she did have a strong death. I was surprised Dru's mojo worked on her. - Speaking of accents, what the flying fornication is David Boreanaz doing in those flashbacks? - Speaking of things DB is bad at, the swordfight was great right until he goes to deliver a savage backhand slash to Buffy's legs and pauses to let SMG (or her double) have time to bring down her sword. It's a pretty glaring pause. A fencer, he ain't. - This was probably the first time I enjoyed James Marsters as Spike. When the twosome showed up initially, I found them obnoxious, poorly acted, broadly written to the point of parody, and they couldn't do accents either. But every beat of this episode for him was solid, and I especially liked his reunion with Joyce. - For her part, Joyce annoyed me this episode. Not because she was being unreasonable, but because she was one of two characters that really revealed the man behind the curtain. Despite Joss Whedon's overly precious dialogue, I'm not taken out of the story all that often. With Joyce and Principal Snyder, the story felt more plot-driven than not, and I got bored by what should have been more emotional.
  15. I had to give that award to "I'd have preferred chicken." Yes, Sandor, but how many chickens? Inquiring minds and all that.
  16. I seem to remember an article recently stating that due to a weird web of intermarriages, Cersei is actually the lawful heir of Tommen, if one went back further than Robert's Targ grandmother, given the extinction of House Baratheon. I can't remember what the steps were, but Cersei can claim lineage as Tywin could have, just much more distantly than Robert, hence his claim being supported as the best one.
  17. Though this hardly makes it better, I think Yara's attitude reflects the fact that the woman was a prostitute, rather than just being female.
  18. Re: TBC - Ned was also badly injured when he had been arrested, though I can't remember if that's show-only. It wouldn't have made much sense to fight his own trial, and he didn't have anyone left to fight for him.
  19. In addition, we know for a fact that F7 is a load of crap in both the books and show. Tyrion most definitely did not kill Joffrey. There is no question of this. In fact, I think it's the only religion that has been conclusively shown not to deliver. Oberyn should have won the fight against the Mountain. Heck, Tyrion should have been able to defeat the Mountain if he didn't get a champion, because he was innocent. If F7 was real, with trial by combat an established aspect of that religion, neither he nor his champion should have been capable of losing that fight. I don't really think it will factor into the final fate of the story; it's really just a social and cultural ornament rather than an actual religion.
  20. In fairness, Ned did admit to treason and attempted usurping at his "trial."
  21. But as has been stated, it's ridiculous even in that context. Why would any of these people care about giving Dany her wedding present that was only Drogo's intention to give her to begin with? Oh, that's right, they're the unwashed brown people who worship Dany and exist only to give her random crap. Note to self, if I ever forget to give my wife an anniversary gift, I'll just make a bombastic speech and then promptly die, and she'll totally believe I always intended to give her dominion over the moon if only it hadn't been for that pesky blade through the ribs.
  22. 2 things: How would one presume Tyrion, a convicted regicide, would sneak into Tywin's chambers without a secret passage, probably only one he could make it through because loldwarf? Did the quip make it to the show when Tyrion was actually killing Tywin?
  23. Maybe no one explained the nuance of the Walk to him, so he's as confused as we are. He was in Dorne when it actually occurred, so there's that.
  24. I know you were probably trying to edit, but I want to read that post as you saying "And one more thing" and then repeating what you just said. Also, I don't think Amanda (great name btw) is particularly unskilled at carrying out assassinations. I don't think for a second that she's going to take out Arya, though she will probably get the drop on her pretty handily...which seems kind of unrealistic as I type it out because if for whatever reason it turns into hand-to-hand Amanda should have that matchup 10/10 times.
  25. In whatever room he killed Rossart in. Aerys was surprised to learn Jaime had killed the pyromancer, and he asked whose blood was on the blade. The events didn't actually happen so closely in sequence; Jaime's recounting of the tale is imprecise.
