Right! What in the world makes a person with muscles more deserving than anyone else? I've tried to give David the benefit of the doubt from the first, but I gave up last night. I don't like him. He brags about his muscles almost every time he opens his mouth and clearly feels superior about them and assumes we're all in awe of arms that look like they've had boxes implanted under the skin. I didn't like Shauhin much either. Who puts age limits on food, saying that milk was a seven year old's drink? You know who would say that Shauhin? An eight year-old. It would serve the California Girls right if Cedrek won. FYI: One gallon of chocolate milk contains 3,320 calories and 382 grams of sugar.

Thank you! I think if Eva and Joe wasn't such a big story (one I love) Star would have had a pretty heart warming arc herself. In all these years I don't think I've seen a cast member appear as awkward and out of place as Star has. The show almost always casts out-going, confident people, often to an obnoxious degree. Star is just the opposite, but finally beginning to feel at ease, and this less defensive Star is able to ask for help and give gifts to others. It's the kind of accelerated personal growth I love to see on Survivor.

Oh, yes, the American south is full of fundamentalist Christians. As I alluded to with the pregnant roommate, I went to a fundamentalist Church of Christ college for a year, because it was close to my home. They were strict, drinking and dancing were forbidden, as well as any public show of affection among the couples. They all thought I must be really wild because I had gone to a state college the previous year. So they all came to my room to talk about what they did with their boyfriends off campus. The teachers all feared my bad influence. Ironically, I honestly believe I was the only virgin in the school. Heh. Still. Fundamentalists are not cult members. They are usually defined by believing the Bible is inerrant. None of them or their parents were so stupid they would have thought the devil had made a girl pregnant.

Right. I got that backwards. Just confusing it with my own Catholic in laws who didn't like the fact that I was Presbyterian and had a child -- and even worse, divorced. 😱

I just assumed they would contact the boy or his parents, we just weren't seeing it. It sounded like he was Paula's age, someone she had always played with. He may not have been anymore aware of exactly what he was doing or what the consequences could be than she was. He certainly wasn't old enough to marry her. I also got the impression that the parents had asked her, early on, if she had done anything with any boys. The way the English usually put it back then was "Did anyone interfere with you?" She wouldn't know what that meant. I barely knew what it meant the first time I read it in a Catherine Cookson novel. I've never actually known any Christians of any stripe who would think their child might be pregnant by the devil or an immaculate conception. I thought the show got a little unrealistic with the cult they invented. The Catholic mother disapproving of her son marrying a girl with a child seemed much more realistic to me and I didn't see why Miss Higgins having a son out of wedlock would make a big difference in her thinking.

I think Nurse Crane is a great actress, I felt her fear through the whole birth. I didn't think it made her suddenly weak, just that the burst uterine birth she had witnessed in the past was her very worst midwife experience and she was terrified it would happen again. It sounded like a horrific thing. My college roommate came from an extreme Christian fundamentalist family. She got pregnant during our freshman year and her father blamed her mother for it (not raising her right.) I think that's why the mothers are sometimes less forgiving than the fathers -- they feel it reflects on them as mothers and as moral women.

Jeff cried and so did I. This season takes me back to the day I heard some guy called Probst on NPR talking about a new show where strangers would be dropped together on an island and have to get along. Me jumping up and saying, "Yes!" "Survivor," will never get old because the people are different every season. I kind of think we're all on the spectrum to some degree, it's just a matter of what conditions will break us. I was always the, "What me worry?" kid, but the older I get the less stress I can handle. This week I've been brought to the edge by my cable company, which is due this morning. My husband just left saying he expects to see crime scene tape around the house when he gets home.

I love the sick woman on the bathroom floor who's so happy she's found an online doctor.

I've always watched Dateline the morning after, on my computer, through Spectrum, my cable provider. Now I can't do it because NBC is insisting I go through some rigmarole and join a NBCUniversity thing. I called Spectrum although I knew it wasn't their fault. I can still watch CBS and PBS online. I ended up buying a whole new package and someone has to come out to set it up. NBC may lose a lot of viewers over this.

Somethings must be very wrong with me, that I like everyone this season. Well maybe not David, he brags too much. "I'm the kindest person you'll ever meet, I'm very empathetic, I treat all women like princesses." Who says those things about themselves? Then the women repeat it like it must be true, "David's so kind he's, so empathetic," Shake it off, ladies! Unfortunate, Eva. How many times have we seen these cute young girls go on Survivor and get a big whopping pimple that lasts the whole season? It's okay, Eva, we see how amazingly fit you are. My thighs were never that firm in my entire life. Charity and David thinking they have each other fooled. Heh. Bianca is so smart, so is Sai, so is Mary, so is Kamila. Just a great cast. Kyle and Kamila may end up putting Guyana on the map over that bad taste of Kool Aid in our minds.

It's the story I look up for. Eva breaks my heart a little when she wants to please her mother, but she's so torn because she really didn't inherit her mom's hate gene in spite of all that training. What does Andre want? he's going to mess up Ashley's head and he's kind to Dani but seems a little bored with her, too. And if you're bored by Dani you just have a terminal roving eye that won't ever be satisfied. Sports.

He said something to the effect that he had enjoyed his life and the adventures he has had up until now, but that it was time to change since he wanted a family. I thought it sounded like he had probably had a habit of doing stunt work for a movie then gone on a surfing or mountain climbing vacation, then back to work when he was broke, then more fun till the money ran out, and so on. There's nothing wrong with that, but he just something else now and he's found a woman who wants the same thing, they just can't do it unless he gets some steady work.

Judy Tanuta (comic): "So I was on this flight to England and the squid in stretch pants next to me thought he could talk to me ... just because he bought my ticket." Paige: "This Marty guy at work wanted to date me and I said. No way! Just because he found me a house and bought me a car and pays my insurance and buys me groceries." He worships the ground she walks on. Poor Paige, the girl can't help it, she innocently moves into a couples apartment, sleeps in their bed with them, has 'benefits" with both of them, told her crazy stalker she was pregnant by Scot and now mean people are saying she had something to do with all this! I wish Josh had reported this one, it called for some snark. My favorite line was Scot's after the detective asked him if Desiree had and enemies, "No way! She was an art teacher! It's an elective!"

Because staying home, bearing and raising children, watching them, teaching them, keeping the house clean, doing the laundry, shopping, cooking and driving them places -- is work. Why is it if that if you pay other people to do all that work, and go sit in an air conditioned office somewhere you're working harder than the SAHM?

True, lilysmom, Sai still doubted Mary. I 'm so glad she didn't get booted though, she's my favorite this year, so funny and so honest. I thought it was hilarious in the first show when she said she became a therapist because she likes hearing people's secrets. She keeps her good humor even when she's losing and most of all, in a show where people seem to get cast according to how good they are at bragging, often winning final tribal for the same thing, it is so refreshing to have someone who can admit to a few faults.

Oh I agree with what you're saying, but I didn't imagine that her ultimatum was that he win Survivor, rather that he figure out a way to get out of that trailer and into a proper home of some sort. I thought it was most likely in his mind only, that the way to get money was win Survivor. Totally agree with Tango. I think she's admirable to want financial stability and if he doesn't soon get steady work then she should move on.

Yes! I like that his girlfriend is thinking about choosing a good father for her children over having a hot guy with muscles. More women should do that. I absolutely love the Mary/Sai show and I'm glad it's going to continue, thanks to their ability to manipulate sweet Cedrek. The two of them had me laughing through the whole show, "That's what happens when you trust boys," should have been the episode title. Those journey segments are simply beyond boring, with all those second by second interviews they reminded me of Big Brother challenges.

If I could change one thing about this show, Eva would be in place through her mother's shenanigans, but she would be innocent of the reason, still thinking her father was someone else. I need a nice underdog to root for. I'm glad it looks like Eva might baulk before she lets her mother make her do something horrible. I just noticed Dana/Leslie/Sherry gets wasp-buzzing sounds whenever she's plotting. LOL

Oh, I'm sure she believes that. When she said that she has always wanted a bumper sticker saying, "Jesus loves you...but I'm his favorite." She pretended to be joking, but you know she really feels that way. There is something so horrifically blasphemous about most of her blather that I find it deeply offensive.

I had to watch the Lori Vallow show. Dateline knew we would be hate watching and rewarded us with dark lighting that made Lori look haggard and greasy, downright ugly at times. For Lori I expect that's much more upsetting than the life-without-parole thing. After all, that won't matter in the near future when the End Times arrive and she and Chad get to be the Supreme Leaders. My church teaches that Jesus will be the leader, but then my church teaches that murder is worse than divorce, so who knows. It was fun seeing her try to flirt with Keith and hit a wall.

I'm loving this season1 So far I like all but one or two people and usually it's the other way around. Even mean ol' Sai is a smart villain, and exciting to watch. I like the "couples;" Joe and Eva, Mitch and Charity, Kyle and Kamila. They seem to really care about each other. What basketball skills! I'm putting these guys in my March Madness Brackets.

Oh my! Don't you know that there have always been second-wife characters in every soap in the past? I can't name them. I didn't know any of the past soap characters you threw at me because this is the first soap I've followed, but I feel sure there were white women who had affairs in some of those other soaps. Just because Haley is black doesn't mean you get to call her awful names.
