  1. Could the fact that the demon changed the rules and said that killing a murderer didn't count be an indication that it was all in her head. Because that could be a hint that the bombs were going to fly no matter how many people she killed.
  2. This episode wasn't bad considering not a whole lot happened. Some vague mention of her would have been nice. She basically ran the rebellion then was the boss in the sequels. Seems weird she wouldn't have some kind of presence here. Carrie Fisher being dead makes her showing up difficult but at least make some kind of reference. Maybe get me a de-aged Laura Dern while they are at it. I never watched the cartoons so I really don't get why Ahsoka is following so much of the way of the Jedi when she I guess walked away from the order. Not doing things like they did would be better and a nice reminder of how the Jedi order kind of sucked. I also like the idea of exploring how you can use the force and not follow the way of the Jedi and still not turn evil. Since people like Yoda didn't really seem to like that idea in the original movies and the prequels. Also what is the point of the wings on Ahsoka's ship being able to turn like that. It seems like there is no point to having the wings in up and down mode. Also is her ship the opposite of every other star wars ship in that it has guns that can shoot backwards but not forward?
  3. Not that I think that Fallon should get any kind of pass if he is a terrible boss but I do think the comedy world, especially late night comedy shows are a weird world probably unlike any other job out there. Like look at how Conan treats his assistant Sona on any of their on camera bits or on their podcast. If you never saw it before you might think he is awful to her, but after a little while it becomes clear she is in on the joke gives it back to him just as much and they are practically like family. Or look at how Seth Myers treats cue card guy Wally. He is also clearly in on it which makes it funny. But it's not super hard to see a scenario where other stars might think they have the same relationship with their employees while the employees don't see it the same way.
  4. I watched it last night with my kids and thought it was fun, and for the type of movie it was I enjoyed it. Thought it could have used more Adam, but I liked that his character was lazy but also a caring and involved father. I was a little surprised they were good but not super surprised. It's like when people were surprised that Adam could actually act in Uncut Gems. But the guy has been staring in movies regularly since the 90's and works with acclaimed actors like Henry Winkler, Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino and Kathy Bates. And he is good friends with Steve Buscemi, who has been in 10 or more of his movies. With that much time spent with people like that, he was bound to pick up some of their skills. And the same goes for his kids if they spent any amount of time on sets.
  5. So a show like the Tonight Show would be full of union workers. So I am wondering, when we hear stories like this why we never hear comments from the various unions about protecting their members. Like the WGA is on strike for better pay, residuals etc, but if Fallon is treating his writers really badly do they do anything? If Fallon is a WGA member too (I don't know) can they strip him of his membership?
  6. I think he said it was an $8 bottle too. From a bar which makes me wonder how cheap that wine must actually be.
  7. I finished the season last night and it seems like there is lots of potential for funny when comes to season 2. Giving away that much money would be a ton of work to make sure you can't give it to bad people or just organizations that don't have the ability to use it and that seems super interesting to me. Plus it opens the doors to bring in a lot of hilarious weirdos and other funny situations. I also find it super interesting that Mackenzie Scott is trying to give away l her money but can't seem to give it away fast enough, since most of it is Amazon stock and keeps making her more money.
  8. So for the last week or so I have been watching THOH episodes with my kids (since they have never seen them). A few nights ago I realized I was having a Matt Groening show festival, watching those, then a couple of new episodes of Disenchantment, then sometimes Futurama. Then to top it off, last night I watched all three shows and all three featured the devil. First it was THOH VI which had the giant mascots, one was the devil. Then in Disenchantment Satan is a character. Then I watched Hell is Other Robots with the Robot Devil.
  9. Doing some reading it seems that Mop Girl and Elfo were able to make Dreamland invisible just like how Elfwood was able to be invisible. Which I kind of get, but I thought that Bean had destroyed all magic. Although the end with Beam and Dagmar makes less sense since first Bean talks about how she has to erase her from existence which didn't happen. Then she talks about destroying all magic which didn't happen. Plus having her in the cage seems kind of dumb since if someone wants to destroy Dreamland releasing her would be a good move. I did like Bean realizing she is not that much younger than Dagmar though and how many people love her.
  10. I never watched any of the cartoons that led into this so I am not yet sure if I care for the actual story. It did make me have a bunch of random thoughts though. When those evil former Jedi took over that ship and did all of the blaster blocking, all I could think of was if you got rid of those blasters and used a real gun, where you can't see the bullets, it would be a lot harder to stop. On the other hand Ahsoka fighting those droids on the temple planet and using a combination of her light sabres and the force was pretty cool. I also find it kind of annoying that there is Wren on this show and Kylo Ren in the movies. I know they are not connected but it's weird. When they were chasing that ship with the hyperdrive I was shocked to see a Star Wars ship that actually had guns that could shoot backwards. How many times would those have come in handy in the movies. But the droid actually using his arms to throw the tracker looked dumb. I have no idea who Ezra is, so every time they mention him I think of that awesome Norm MacDonald joke about how Better Than Ezra was #1 on the college music charts and at number 2: Ezra.
  11. Watched the last 4 episodes to tonight, I really liked it, especially the big battle. Not sure I liked how they took care of Dagmar since it didn't really make sense, but I enjoyed everyone getting sort of a wrap up scene. Also if you watch the last episode there is a scene after the credits. Not really sure what it means but it's there.
  12. Sure he did over the course of the series. That is why I mentioned the early seasons, where George was more likely to get the romance plots.
  13. At least the writers admitted that there was a reason for that, at least in the early seasons. Jason Alexander was a "real" actor while Jerry Seinfeld was a comedian who didn't really have acting experience. And Kramer was supposed to be a weirdo shut-in. So the logic was if they wanted to do dating/romance storylines for one of the guys, George made more sense than Kramer and Jason could handle the acting better than Jerry. My favourite is the opposite, the characters who by all accounts should have no problems meeting women but their difficulties in getting dates is a major part of their plotlines. The worst for that was probably Otis from Chicago Fire. His character was supposed to be some weirdo nerd who liked sci-fi/comics stuff and could never get dates. But in reality he was a firefighter who also work in a bar that he was co-owner of. Plus there are women who like comics and sci fi stuff. He should have had no problem getting dates.
  14. The only thing that would make it a better story is if they released how much money that would cost him
  15. Two episodes in and it definitely seems funnier than the early seasons, at least funnier than I remember the early episodes being. Loved the guy complaining to Dagmar about how long he has to wait for her to do anything and how he can't even remember what happened. And there town criers line about "her satanic Majesty's request" was amazing. Also after watching 4 seasons of What We Do In the Shadows, Matt Berry as Merkimer is way funnier.
  16. It is interesting that even Nandor wasn't interested in being with someone who likes everything that he likes, but Freddie was ok with it.
  17. I think that is my favorite Simon he Devious episode. I love that even more than Lazlo he should know the hat is cursed but he still wants it. They have been forgetting that for awhile. All those vampire assassins came in without being invited and then were killed by Guillermo. Plus the first time the guide came in their house it was as smoke. That was really funny. I don't watch many reno shows but I have seen enough other crappy reality shows to know how that move is a standard thing for filling up time when your shows not that interesting.
  18. What made Sam really hard to watch for me was that I really like Linda Cardellini in pretty much everything else I have seen her in (Freaks and Geeks, Dead to Me, The MCU). So the fact that Sam was super annoying was bad. And the fact that she maybe said 2 things to Busy Phillips's character the whole time she was on the show made it even worse. And to top it off her dirtbag ex-husband was played by my all time favourite hey it's that guy character actor Garret Dillahunt. And he sucked too.
  19. I have never seen them either. Also I did like that King Shark's son is called King Baby rather than Baby Shark. Joker doing a sleep study was pretty hilarious with the amount he moved around. I had to do one last year and it was super annoying and I can't believe they can get any useful data with how hard it is to sleep with all those sensors and other crap stuck to you.
  20. If the networks can force the hosts back I can see it going either way. Yes they don't get the ratings they once did and there are no shows/movies to promote. But at the same time, a big part of those shows seems to be about trying to generate viral clips. Colbert and Seth Myers have improv backgrounds (and I guess Fallon, not sure about Kimmel), so they could generate some interesting stuff if they had to think up bits on their own/on the fly.
  21. Well they could still talk to athletes, musicians, stand up comics, authors, politicians, people in the news and (ugh) YouTubers. I remember watching The Daily show at the height of Jon Stewart's popularity, and he almost never had famous actors.
  22. For anyone in Canada Newsradio is back on the CTV app for free with just a few commercials. I have been watching season 5, and while it's not as funny as the Bill seasons it is definitely better than I remember. Max has made me laugh several times and the whole DB Cooper arc and Johnny Johnson thing is really funny (although no way does Joe think DB Cooper is what he called himself). Plus the Smatthew is probably one of my favourite episodes (especially with how he talks down to Dave).
  23. Does he do many other characters? The only other thing I know him from is Disenchantment (the Netflix animated show created by Matt Groening) where he plays Merkimer a pompous prince who gets turned into a talking pig but still has a lot of his pompous jerk personality.
  24. I saw on social media that Bruce Campbell has a bunch of events coming up. But knowing his fanbase he could easily spend the whole event talking about life in rural Oregon and people there would love it. Although he could also probably talk about the first Evil Dead since it was a super indie movie made before he was in any union. I am also starting to wonder if we are getting to the point where the networks will force the late night hosts to come back without writers. Because during the last strike that led to some really funny and weird stuff like Conan spinning his ring and the Conan/Colbert/Stewart feud. Or are hosts covered in the SAG strike?
  25. I mean if Adam Sandler is going to give people jobs I kind of would rather it was his own family instead of Rob Schneider and Kevin James.
