Like so many people do (and not just in reference to weight,) Whitney is confusing "shame" with "respect." Nobody wants her, or anyone else, to feel ashamed of their size. But we do want them to have enough respect for their physical bodies to take proper care of those bodies. Whitney has no shame about how she looks, and that's fine. But unlike most human beings, she has also has no respect for her own body and refuses to take care of it. That's 100% typical of addicts (of all sorts.) I guess it follows that since she has no respect for the body she lives in, she has no respect for the house she lives in or even the car she drives. All three of those things are trashed.

It was hard to tell without a scorecard, but from what I could gather: There was an older daughter, the firstborn, that the mother kept. We did not see that one. Abbi was born sometime later, apparently with a different father, and given up for adoption. A third daughter was born, whose father was evidently a black man in the USAF. The last two daughters appear to have the same father because they look much alike. I don't remember if the birth mom married him or not. So we seem to have five children with four different fathers, and I don't remember hearing anything about who they were or where they are now.

I watched the Prison Break movie too, but found it very entertaining and some first-rate trash. I don't think we were meant to feel any sympathy for Joyce. She was a not-too-bright woman living in a fantasy world, and though she thought of herself as lonely, she did have a husband who was devoted to her, and did sleep with her, and tried to take care of her. Plenty of women would love to have that, even if he was ordinary (and she certainly was, too.) She dismissed all that (while still benefiting from it, of course) to chase what she saw as a couple of alpha male bad boys on a romantic fantasy. Even when talking about murdering her own husband it didn't become real until the last minute and *then* she panicked. The movie sure made a good case for not letting women supervise male inmates and viceversa, unless you want this kind of stuff going on. I think the moral of the story was that reality is better than fantasy - and that murderers are locked up for a reason. The "biography" episode about the real Joyce Mitchell is on Lifetime tonight.

Oh, very interesting . . . hadn't thought of that, but you may be on to something. Would certainly explain my own preferences, lol. Will have to do more unofficial research.

Actually, just from what we've seen on teevee, Ashley & Cody and Danielle & Anthony might have worked better.

Not to mention the disability checks he gets and the checks she gets for being his caretaker.

MBP is either lying about someone in your care being sick so you can get attention and sympathy for caring for them - that's usually how it starts - OR actually causing them illness or injury by poisoning them, for example, or starving or horribly overfeeding them, or keeping them from medical care until it's a serious problem. Sean's ankle is a perfect example of that. His mother is a sick, sick woman, just like Billy Robbins' mother, and they are both textbook examples of Munchausen's Syndrome by Proxy.

I could believe Danielle's father is Dutch, but her mother has got to be Hispanic, Greek, something. They don't look to be an even match, either, as far as looks or culture. Such things are interesting to me because I've been around some couples who were from entirely different cultures and it's usually a huge disaster. Or I'm just a shallow bitch, lol.

People do have sex with strangers all the time - but hardly ever stay with them. That's the point. They're marrying STRANGERS, as the Show keeps reminding us. Some things should be given a little time. Yes, they are legally married, but if they treat it like it's a drunken hookup, that's all it will be and it won't last. Ask Monet and a few of the others. The marriage is a legal technicality at this point. The head knows they're married, but the heart doesn't. They have to wait for the heart to catch up if they want it to last.

Well, to be fair, I think everybody is set up to fail and they've done a spectacularly lousy job with pretty much everyone, lol. And remember, they do have Pastor Calvin on the selection committee so it's not entirely white. I think the real problem here is that when the Show puts out a call for participants, they get 10,000 women and three men. They've also said that it was very hard to find a black man willing to marry a black woman At First Sight (I'm just the messenger here.) I wouldn't mind an interracial couple at all, but maybe the Show feels they should go with a black couple whenever they can find one. So the show will be criticized for that either way. Nathan and Sheila seem to have as much of a chance as anyone else we've seen on this show, and maybe more. Drunk Dad is totally fake and just a guy auditioning for more TV gigs.

I think Drunk Dad was totally acting and using this show as an audition. I guessing that Sheila is a virgin, and that may have been her way of saying so.

The 17-year-old brother lives with Nathan, but I didn't catch why. Maybe he was just trying to escape the ball-cap-wearin', wanna-be actor Dad.

Nathan & Sheila seem about evenly matched, but I can't tell if they actually like each other. Ashley is very pretty. But did she just say her parents have been together for 33 years and never got married?? Yup. And I would add a loss of normal modesty. The people on that show seem to have lost all desire to cover up, even with a sheet or something, and seem to think nothing of being splayed out naked in front of family members. Males and females both do this. Whit seems to think clothes are not really necessary an awful lot of the time, even in front of her parents. And TV cameras.

I think you've it it squarely on the head. She needs an out but I don't know where she'll find one. Hell, I'd drink, too.
