  1. I agree with everything you've said, particularly the bolded part. I didn't think Daryl was brace for not pretending to accept his position in Negan's world, I just thought he was a bloody idiot. It would have been a lot easier for him to bust out of there if he hadn't still been locked up AND he could have provided intel to CDB. Take a stand if you're being told to do something actually reprehensible but saying a few words and acting the part? Pfft, just do it already!
  2. Before I read any comments I wanted to put a couple of my thoughts down: How stupid is Negan to kill the doctor, even to the extent of saying he's replaceable - I think implying Dwight isn't?! I can't think of any profession that would be more vital in the brave new world, you'd do anything to protect anyone with medical training. Just read the AV Club review and the reviewer thought that this episode showed Eugene turning traitor? I thought he was just going with the program (as Daryl should have done) to avoid you know, being beaten to death with a baseball bat (makes sense to me! I'd be 'Negan' too!). Will be interested to read what y'all have to say. ?
  3. Too devastated to write much but god, I'm regretting watching this series because I'm now a mess! So so sad and so beautifully written and portrayed. I actually caught myself trying to be distracted by surfing on my phone which I never do during this show - I always give it my full attention - but I was finding it hard to deal with all the emotion. I was watching my little 4 month old baby girl on the video monitor and William's mum singing to him in the crib and it was too too much! So many feels, I can't remember the last time a TV show made me cry this much ?. Well played This Is Us.
  4. Yes actors get paid per episode and given how tight AMC are it wouldn't surprise me in the least that this influences the amount of these filler episodes. Andrew Lincoln is reportedly earning $500,000 per episode so that's a significant saving for them. Not sure about the time off factor, you'd hope not considering they only film for 6 months!
  5. I really enjoyed this episode, it was such a relief to see the whole gang rather than the infuriating solo storyline episodes (aka filler). It also pisses me off that they do an episode like this - it proves that the writers are capable of interweaving multiple storylines in a single episode so I don't understand why they don't do it every episode. The odd bottle episode that is of a high standard and adds something to the story like 'Clear' can be compelling but not crap like 'Still' and most of the episodes this half season. I really hope this next half season makes up for the hard slog that was the first eight.
  6. Since the Daryl-centric episode I've been meaning to comment on the red 'A' on his track top. There was a red 'A' on the carriage there were locked in in Terminus then a red 'A' on the church. Did we see one at Alexandria, I can't remember? I wonder if there is any significance in the letter since it's been displayed so many times.
  7. Is that Tyreese? I find it really strange that the sponsors will apparently be highly offended by the word 'fuck' but talking about a woman's 'pussy' is fine. It's a very 'adult' and gross word when it's being used for women's genitalia. Then again I don't understand why someone being beaten to death or having their face burnt off is ok but 'fuck' and showing doodles, hoo-has and tatas are all deemed offensive. I was SO hoping he'd ridicule both Daryl and Coral about their hair and then hack it off. I got my hopes up when Negan said to Coral to hold his hair back so he could get his jollies by looking at poor Coral's eye - I thought maybe he'd give him an impromptu haircut. I find Jesus really intriguing but they haven't done much with the character after those first couple of episodes the we met him. I hope they don't continue to waste his character. That's such a bugbear of mine! I watch the show by 'other means' so I know exactly how long the episodes really are - roughly 44 mins for a normal ep and 58 mins for an extended one. I feel like they are flat out lying when they say the show is 1.5 hours. For me a full hour is good but if I was having to watch it with so many ads it stretches it out to 1.5 hours that would really piss me off. I actually bought that he genuinely liked her. People have so many aspects to them and I can buy that a total sociopath can still appreciate the sweetness of a baby. Particularly Judith, she's a little darling!
  8. BRILLIANT!!! I sang it, it's great. Someone should perform this and YouYube it, it's too good to only be shared with us diehards!
  9. Great clip! I'm never going to stop wishing that TWD was still the same high quality show it was in the first season ?
  10. AL and NR have just renegotiated their contracts so they won't be leaving any time soon. AL has indicated in the past he'll stay on until his story has ended. I think NR will leave fingernail scratches on the floor by TPTB dragging him out if they ever kill him off, he loves the popularity of Daryl and must realise that he's typecast now. Don't know about DG but not many actors would voluntarily give up a steady pay check, particularly on one of the biggest shows in the world.
  11. That's exactly what I said to my Mum!
  12. She was chosen as cannon fodder, they didn't need to add any strength to their tribe, just a patsy to vote out.
  13. Is anyone else looking up flights to Samoa and checking out accommodation?! So want to go, it looks beautiful.
  14. It was so stupid, just spite that he voted for Kat and not Sue, he didn't use logic at all for that.
  15. Maybe he was being literal - it's just him shooting 26 eps, the final tribal is ep 24 and the last 2 eps is JLap showing us how he got so ripped for the show :)
  16. Why did Matt say Kylie wearing the Immunity Idol to the TC was the dumbest thing he'd ever seen? She clearly felt vulnerable so I'm guessing was going to play it, she'd have to reveal it prior to voting anyway so I didn't understand what he was on about?
  17. Thanks guys for that info, that helps clear things up a bit! Wish someone would actually grill Pete in an interview on his claims but no such luck. Can't find any good recap/discussion threads in Aus about the show, it's so frustrating not being able to delve into it like I do with other shows - I recognise you from TWD @Nashville, would be good to have so many people to bounce off here like we do there!
  18. Oh for sure if you're removed you shouldn't be allowed to come back, being all nicely rested and fed would be too great advantage. But if you're treated onsite for something you can stay if the medics determine it's safe for you to do so. My issue here with Peter is he has been saying in the press that he was stranded on a deserted island (with a full crew and 25 cast mates - scary!) without any access to medical care. I just don't believe it, I'm sure it's not against the rules to give him something for the gastro. And he had 2 days prior! He could have seen a doctor then and got some meds. Or as I said, if he was as deathly ill as he said he was (in an interview he said he would have been carried out in a box if he'd stayed in the game!) surely the medics or JLap would have approached him earlier to give him a physical or just flat out make the assessment he's too sick to be there. His comments don't ring true with me.
  19. Was just reading the Survivor Wikia and it says this about the medics: Medical Team "The Survivor medical team are always on hand 24 hours a day to assist, diagnose, and support the castaways in the event of injuries or serious illnesses. If at any point medical attention is required, either a castaway in need or the host calls the medics for help. The team consists of three doctors, three paramedics and two nurses who stay at a clinic at base camp. They cover tribe camps, challenge sites and Ponderosa. They also tend to the production team's health concerns.[2] The medical team also has the authority to remove contestants from the game if the situation calls for it and send them to a hospital for further treatment. Dr. Ramona Salins is the most recognizable member of the Medical Department on Survivor. A New Zealand native, she is usually present whenever a castaway's health is compromised." And then in the Evacuation section it says most of the people who ended up being airlifted out were first helped by the medics in the hope that they could stay in the game. The medics then made them leave if the treatment didn't work work and it was not safe for the contestant to continue. So I don't understand that with all this medical support available (it would have to be the same for our one as the US show) that Peter didn't try to get help OR that the medics didn't make the call themselves that he was too unwell to be there.
  20. Maybe I was thinking of this guy who was in the first Aus series all that ago: Michael Skupin, he fell into the fire and was badly burnt so was choppered out but they let come back for the Phillipines season. Forgot I'd watched any of the original Aus version!
  21. Yep understand that's it if you quit but have they had people get medical attention on set before then continue playing? It's bugging me that I can't trust my memory! I'm 7 months preg ATM and I swear to god she's a full Romero zombie, she's eating my brains so I'm getting progressively dumber everyday!
  22. Absolutely agree about the vague thing and even more cynically: MOTHERSHIP SPOILER: Yep, I'm pretty sure the FTWD actors have NFI what's coming up or their back stories; on TWD it sounds like AL gets a good overview but then he has the most clout of the actors. I get so pissed off when I hear the actors from both shows on TD or other media saying how this means that or this was what was intended or the motivation was this. If we can't figure that out by watching the show IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!! I haven't watched last night's TD yet but read they translated the wall scene on it, that's just bullshit.
  23. I think it was probably better for Barry when we didn't hear from him, totally pissed me off that he's going to let chance decide who to vote off, I don't think that's any great moral choice or whatever other spin he's putting on it, it's just a way to not make a choice AND to potentially send someone home who really doesn't 'deserve' it. That's fine if you don't break your word to people, not be in alliances, etc but you can avoid doing that and still make a decision. With Peter, I just call bullshit on having a gastro bug for that length of time. Surely he would have had sought some medical treatment in the 2 days prior that he claimed to have contracted it? And he was never shown once looking ill or weak the way that you would if you were only eating 50kjs a day and also doing physical work, he would have collapsed a long time before Day 12. If anything he looked quite vibrant and happy at the same time as saying how sick he was. I haven't watched Survivor for a long time but I'm sure they have medics on hand? They do have a duty of care to their cast - and their crew. I thought I remembered contestants having to get treatment before, wasn't someone helicoptered out and brought back one time? And Probst stepped in before if they were worried about the health of a contestant? I don't know, maybe I'm completely making stuff up! Please let me know guys! That tribal council was awesome, I have to watch the ep again!
  24. With regards to Maddie's husband killing himself I thought we were basically told that last week: when Nick was talking about his dad (during the confrontation role-play) it was clear he was suffering from depression. Then Maddie came to rehab and told Nick that his father had died in a car crash and I assumed it was suicide but given Nick's youth and state of mind that didn't occur to him and both he and Alicia were probably in denial about it, no one wants to think a parent killed themselves.
