  1. I remember Val and Zendaya being shipped, which was weird. Even though the first thing he told her was that she was beautiful and then asked her age, proceeded to immediately take it back when she said she was 16. I'll never forget that lol. However, it's news to me that Val was being shipped with Normani
  2. Jenna is insecure and she always has been. There's a reason why Val clearly does not have the same type of relationships with his former female contestants like Zendaya, Rumer, or Normani. They threaten her in some kind of way. That's why I've only seen him communicate (via IG) with women like Ginger Zee, Tamar, or Laurie, women who she knows Val would never go there with. I remember when Fifth Harmony was having an album release party while she was on DWTS and I saw a picture of her with Val and Jenna at the party. Nowadays, I think I see Alan on Normani's IG page more than I see Val... I mean... I guess it's natural that could/should happen as men get more invested in monogamous relationships but they all work in the entertainment industry, I feel like maintaining connections with people, especially people who are on the rise in terms of star power, would be in more best interest. There's a video that Zendaya released a couple of years back that has Maks as one of the principal dancers, and this was well after her DWTS season. Zendaya and the brothers seemed legitimately close which I actually kind of liked, the genuineness of their big brother-little sister relationship. I wonder what happened with that...
  3. What makes a male D lister better than a female D lister I wonder? No different than who's casted every season if you ask me. if that's how you feel about the celebs, or the pros for that matter, I wonder why even watch the show at all lol...
  4. I think every season there is a shocking female elimination. Whether it be Sabrina Bryan from many moons ago, women who've competed and could've won but didn't (regardless of reason) can include (but is not limited to): Sabrina Bryan Tinashe Zendaya Normani Mel B Heather Morris Mya Paige Van Zant Laila Ali I can also put it this way. The only female contestants to win who A: Are NOT a partner of Derek and B: NOT an Olympian are: Kelly Monaco (S1), Melissa Rycroft (S15) Rumer Willis (S20). The show has been on for 27 seasons with, 13 male winners, 6 Derek Hough-Female Celeb wins. Therefore, 19 seasons are accounter for. With the 8 seasons left, 4 of those female winners are Olympians (Kristi Yamaguchi, Shawn Johnson, Meryl Davis, Laurie Hernandez). The Non-Olympians include: I this this show needs a STRONG switch up. I propose either an All Star Season. If they could get one of the big fish who have actually gotten more famous since they've been on the show (Zendaya), that could be huge for the show. I highly doubt she'd do it as she seems to be BOOKED with Spiderman, that new show on HBO, designing for Tommy Hilfiger, about to start filming a movie with Jake Gyllenhaal according to IMDB. Highly doubt she'd ever do the show again, especially from what I've been told Val wrote about her in his book. However, there are some people who I'd really like to see on the show again. If not an All Star season, than an All Female Celeb season. I think it could be an interesting female empowerment type of season. Female Pros could serve as coaches for the female celeb and it can be a girl power season. It could also be a way to introduce some new male pros to the show which I think the show DESPERATELY needs.
  5. Well you can put me in a camp that fully believes that the reason Val didn't get Tinashe is because Jenna would have an absolute FIT if Val got her and there was any hint of flirtation going on. Trust and believe that Val had a "type" before he finally claimed Jenna and Tinashe definitely fits it...
  6. First of all, this picture kills me LOL. Even when Erica was being way too much, there was something much more tolerable about her then, then how she is now. Back on track, I can't thumbs up this comment enough. I am so tired of this narrative of talented, well established, strong work ethic women, ESPECIALLY women of color, being called arrogant because they actually show their confidence. They work in an industry where if they haven't built up that wall of "i'm a success" no matter what they would never make it. Why subject yourself to the judgement of a voting public if you didn't have that kind of confidence? What does a woman have to be to not be called arrogant? I don't need to see someone manically falling all over themselves thanking people every 5 seconds for the opportunity (they work for their opportunities) apologizing for their success (again, they worked for that), over the top bubbly, just so they can fit this narrow view of what being "humble" and approachable is. Sorry I'm just really over the women and WOC on this show being painted as arrogant when I can only think of ... 2 women who seemed to fit that mold, and I'm not going to name names lol. Rumer got that edit too at times but she had Val who people were really pulling to win since he hadn't at that point. Tinashe seems talented, happy to be there, wants to work hard (since that choreo did not look east for a week 1), and will get my votes.
  7. 1. I really miss the podcast that Previously used to make for the Challenge. I think this is one of the better seasons they've had in a long time and I'd love to hear their take on the episodes. 2. This! I've seen almost every season of the Challenge but I really don't have the kind of memory that recalls who he has specifically not gotten along with. However, I will say his trends as of late is to pick on other gay men in the house, women (stop calling yourself a feminist, you actively attack woman you don't like). I'm just going to throw it out there even though it might be controversial, he often feuds with people of color (Darrell-slapped him on their season of RW, Nelson, Davonne, Jozea). However, he's also feuded with Kyle, Bananas, etc. I mean... IDK, I seriously hate him, as he's never gone after anyone like CT or Zack because... he knows better lol. 3. I thought Kam's plan was pretty brilliant. It's nice to see a woman playing the game and it's not Bananas (who hasn't made a power play since taking the money from Sarah) or Wes really. Good for her on making her stamp, I guess she's doubling down on her Killer Kam brand. 4. Fully believe that the producers were going to use mercenaries in this episode regardless however, changed the rules once they saw what Kam's plan was. Ashley and Hunter are basically professional challengers. Their schedule would be flexible enough for them to actually stay in the game if they won if the producers asked them to.
  8. Thank you! Even though I feel like I'm still confused... I feel like a few of the pro children are not ballroom dancers, since when is Eliana from Dance Moms a ballroom dancer? Plus, if that means her horrible mother will be around then I'm not into it...
  9. Can someone help me clarify? Does this mean that there's no regular season in the fall?
  10. I also was not a fan of Janel and Val, not because of Janel as a person but about 99% on time on DWTS producers don't even need a reason to insinuate a showmance (i.e. Josh calling Sharna attractive) in order for them to put the idea in their pre-performance package. So for them it was really shoved down our throat and it was just WAY too much. I also think he got Janel right after his season Zendaya. I felt like he was waiting for a showmance after his reason with Kelly M. and if Zendaya was of-age at the time he would have tried that route with her. However she wasn't, so he did with Janel and Rumer. Even though his feelings, whatever they were, for Rumer always seemed a bit more genuine than they were for Janel. There are a lot of reports online that Val will be proposing soon so if that's the case then congrats to them. Not a shipper but been a Val fan for a long time so if that's where his life is going then good for the both of them. All the stuff from prior seasons, I think all of this is Val just being ya know... a typical dude who's dating his options lol. It's just unfortunate for him is that there's a public that can judge him for it.
  11. I mean I don't know... She did a private screening at her home for her recent movie The Greatest Showman and he was definitely there, I saw pictures. Zendaya is fairly private person I've found, I remember reading that she had broken up with a boyfriend and I was like... Zendaya was dating someone??? Maks was also in one of Zendaya's music videos that came out ... 2 years ago maybe? Zendaya is a big time star now. There's no reason why she has to mention a friendship that she forged 5 years ago but I think they are still fairly good friends.
  12. Interesting conversation about Val. I went to the Confidential tour after a friend of mine had an extra ticket up for grabs. The tour itself is filled with SUPER talented dancers, they were a pleasure to watch. The whole theme was telling audience "confidential" parts of their life which... couldn't have been further from the truth honestly lol. Anyone who would have gone the extra mile to buy tickets for their show would have known the information that they were sharing. For example, Maks and Peta discuss how they met and when they broke up which never include people like Karina, who I'm fairly certian was still in the picture when Peta they met, or J. Lo who Maks was rumored to be dating when they broke up before they got engaged. Their storyline also dealt a good deal with their adorable son. Val's section however, had everything to do with being a sort of tortured perfectionist artist. Living inside his own mind and never being good enough. His entire section never mentioned Jenna once, not even in the video transitional clips, even though I do believe it did include their dog lol. As far as Val's type, he always seemed pretty into black girls to be honest lol. That whole thing with Amber Rose did not surprise one little bit.
  13. I think there's a connection that I don't know. Why would Miz ask Derrick about Brad and Brittni? I think the one person that came off well during this finale is Kam. She had a good rookie season, didn't participate in that mean girl bs, and didn't have a ridiculous showmance to discuss. Even though I am curious about her relationship with Leroy. Could very well be platonic but... they seem actually close. I've always found the Champs/Pros v. Stars seasons somewhat lackluster but I think them mixing the teams was the best idea. That trailer actually looked pretty good. Who knew that the Challenge would have such longevity as a franchise lol. When something makes me feel compelled to defend Nicole and Jimmye, you know I find something problematic... I think there's a whole host of reasons to go after Nicole and Jimmye, least of which involves their clothes, makeup, and physical appearance.
  14. One of the Pit Crew guys I recognized was Asaf. He's been on a few MTV reality shows, most notably Are You The One.
  15. So many issues with this episode I don't know where to begin... Leroy has been able to get by for a long time by being a generally amiable person. He's not someone that outwardly strategizes like a Wes, or dominates physically like a CT, or stirs drama like Shane. In terms of game play, I think he knows himself. He's not any of those kinds of people so he plays middle of the road, under the radar game which I've never had an issue with. I've always found him inoffensive. So when Tony, of all people who has been thinking he walks on water ever since he said Johnny's name, says he felt "uncomfortable" because Leroy was "aggressive" solidified for me that Tony will NEVER be a person I root for. That type of coded, underhanded, racist reaction to Leeroy (whether intentional or not) is exactly what it was for someone who has literally gone out of his way to be inoffensive to anyone. Even when Camilla was hurling racial slurs at him, he reacted more calmly than 99% of people would have reacted. Leeroy defended himself because his back was against a wall and quite frankly Kaila's inquisition against Natalie was more aggressive than anything Leroy said. I say it's about time that Leroy separate himself from the pack and prove what he can do. He's been on many challenges and never been to a final, much less won, as far as I can remember. I just hope he shuts a lot of people up.
  16. I am very confused as to why we don't like Will Smith. He has, single handedly, saved instagram for me. Seriously check it out, it's simultaneously hilarious and inspiring. Movie wise he was on a bit of a low streak, I can definitely admit that. I say that with the caveat that Bright was not nearly as bad as critics made it out to be and seemed more like a personal attack on Will's star power and not the actual movie. Sorry... I was just really caught off guard by that lol.
  17. This was on my Google homepage, had no idea they were a thing, if this article has any validity... What I do know is that Val and Jenna are extraordinarily social media affectionately so if something with Rumer was still lingering it would make sense... https://pagesix.com/2018/01/01/rumer-willis-removes-her-dwts-tattoo-after-val-chmerkovskiy-breakup/
  18. Watching Lindsay/Jordan/Corbin Trio made me wish that next season is an All Star Season and Corbin will be on it. I loved his dancing with Karina back during his season and think he'd be great to watch again...
  19. Jordan Fisher... who ever trained him over the years is a superb teacher because that man is a professional dancer. You're not breaking out triple pirouettes if you haven't been trained. With that being said, I love watching him dance. I think he's incredible and is one of the best, if not the best, male celeb they've had on the show. On the other hand, I'm really happy Frankie is such a pleasant surprise. I feel like you never really know what child stars are going to be like but he totally has the right mix of spirit, sincerity, and earnestness. No female celeb is really standing out to me, with maybe the exception of Vanessa. Mark's facial expressions during that salsa gave me a good laugh LOL. I wouldn't mind another All Star season considering the amount of great dancers they've had since the 1st one, whether they be trained or otherwise.
  20. I was literally just about to say how much I enjoyed having Mark back LOL. Go figure. He definitely has a history of over dancing his partners but I think he's reigned that in a bit the past few seasons and I appreciate the fact that he has a different approach/style to the other male pros. All of the male pros can get very... sames-y TBH, for lack of a better word. I was a big fan of Jordan after his Grease Live performance. He pretty much made that worth watching with his one performance of "Magic Changes." I also appreciate his confidence, if your talented you don't need to hide it IMHO. Since I haven't seen anything that I'd regard as cocky, I'll hitch my vote on him. Is it me or is Sharna's hair extra red... like radioactive red lol. I've always liked her hair but now it's almost kind of distracting...
  21. Two questions I'd definitely appreciate some clarity on! 1. Direwolves: Where is Ghost? He seemed to have vanished out of no where and no one mentions him. I feel like the last time I saw him was when Jon came back to life last season. I could be wrong but it just seems like... wouldn't Ghost have gone with John to Dragonstone or King's Landing... it just doesn't make any sense why he hasn't from a plot perspective. I mean... Ghost must be huge at this point. I've heard/read how CGI heavy and costly making the direwolves for the show but I personally think they overused the dragons this season and underused the direwolves. Who knows... maybe Ghost is chillin with Nymeria and convincing her to come back... 2. Where is Gendry? Was he at the hall? Is he dead? If he's dead I'll be very say and kind of frustrated as we waited years for him to come back to die in 3 episodes. I personally think he should come back and be a legitimate match for Arya, I think it would be an interesting arc for her character, as she's never really had a love interest. It's not like all female characters need one. Or maybe even Sansa... I just seem him with a Stark girl lol.
  22. Even though she wasn't on Nick's season for very long, I for one am happy to see Dominique on BIP. At first when they showed a woman with braids/twist in her hair I was like... who is that? They weren't showing her face and I feel like if it was someone like Jubilee, it would have been a bigger deal that she was coming from the show as I think she's still fairly popular from Ben's season. However, I am happy that she got a 2nd chance on BIP because I remember her and NIck not really getting along for whatever reason and I always though she was really pretty and wanted to know her personality more. I hope her and Diggy work out! Sorry Lacey! Better to be alone than with Iggy if that's any consolation...
  23. Some reflections after watching this episode... I hate Iggy so much. Like BIP compounded the hate I already had for him from The Bachelorette. He has a complete lack of self awareness, he comes off extremely self righteous, and his sense of humor is completely tone deaf. That whole Jewish prayer thing with Lacey I found completely offensive. Thank you Lacey for NOT picking him, ugh. Also on the same boat for the whole not understanding D-Lo's appeal. She seems fairly standard for meeting the Bachelor status quo. She also seemed kind of full of herself, always ending the conversation with the guys with "I don't know we'll see" and waving her date card in the air before she eventually chose Dean. I firmly believe Danielle was FULLY aware of Kristina and Dean's situation and she chose not to care. They are from the same season, I'm sure she must have heard that they hung out during the hiatus. It's not a Caila, Ashley I, Jared, situation where one girl irrationally liked a guy, and dislikes the girls trying to get with the guy. Dean and Kristina were actively dating. Which brings me to Dean. The whole time I was watching I was like... why is Dean getting such a bad rep? he seems like he's being fairly honest, slightly aloof, but still pretty honest about keeping possibilities open with Kristina. Then the watermelon cake happened and I was like WTF BRO. Even if it was producer driven, you were literally just cuddling with Kristina at the bonfire. It was set up Dean, and you got played to look like an ass. Alexis wins BIP. She's a girl I'd actually hang out with in real life. I hope she finds a dude. I actually think her and Vinny would have gotten along... You know what, I could see her with Alex from Rachel's season...
  24. what lawsuit? Sorry I am not on the up and up on these people. Tonya filed a civil suit against MTV and Bunim-Murray for recording an alleged sexual assault and doing nothing to prevent/stop it from happening. At least that's what I remember from hearing about it.
