  1. They need to bring Coral back. Even if she is an Aftershow Host, bringing Coral back would be legendary even if the new generation doesn't know her.
  2. It's important to say that Sansa saying that she "learned a lot from Cersei" does not mean she exclusively learned from Cersei. If you think about Sansa has at some point been involved with the smartest, most manipulative people in the realm. She's had Cersei, Little Finger, Margery, Olenna, Tyrion, Varys all in her immediate circle. On top of this, she's survived Joffrey and Ramsay. I think it's fair to say that Sansa knows the South equally as Jon knows the North. Those skill sets are equally important and the reason why they are having conflict is because they do not see the value in what each other knows equally. There's only been one person who's been killed because he didn't play the politics correctly, and that's Jon. Ironically enough, Jon was killed by much more honorable people than people who have had the potential to kill Sansa. Sansa is smart and Jon needs to take her council more seriously. Sansa just needs to learn when to vocalize her expertise. In a room full of lesser Lords isn't it.
  3. While this episode was cute, and the shut down of DeMario was masterful on her part, I'm way more excited for next week. Quite frankly I'm very interested to see how this show is going to handle race and it was only a matter of time until it came out. I've seen the press about Lee and his social media (http://variety.com/2017/tv/news/the-bachelorette-racist-tweets-contestant-lee-garrett-1202450087/) and i'm sure the timing of this being leaked is no coincidence in comparison to the narrative arc of this show. It's unfortunate that Rachel has to deal with this because really no other Bachelor OR Bachelorette has had to deal with a storyline that may be trivial to someone because of the nature of the show but very serious to other people. Will calling out Lee for calling either Eric or Kenny (couldn't tell from the preview) "aggressive" and explainging why that's particularly problematic for a black man is very real. We'll see how Rachel handles the situation (I don't want to read spoilers) but there's a part of me that feels bad she has to deal with the normal producer shenanigans AND deal with race relations but another part of me is like... I'd be shocked if Rachel thought this wouldn't happen...
  4. I feel like when I read stuff like this I'm watching a completely different show than everyone else. Normani was never paid to be someone's back-up dancer, dance in a dance company, or dance on broadway. Since those are basically the 3 pathways to being a professional dancer I just don't see how Normani is considered a professional dancer. As far as I can see, her and Paige have the same amount of training and Paige didn't get nearly as much criticism for being a professional dancer. I understand this feeling because I felt this way for many of Derek's partners who I thought were doing much better in the competition than they should have been. However, that had a lot more to do with my feelings regarding Derek, and the show's positioning of Derek, than it had to do with his partners.
  5. Bonner asking Normani out... take it for what you will...
  6. Remember that time when Val was partners with Tamar, I believe this was the week when they had the Charleston, and during the prepackage Val was explaining the concept and the whole time Tamar was like "sooooooo why are you taking off your shirt????" I feel like Tamar got a lot of flack for having too much attitude. While her delivery could warrant that critique it was a seriously valid question lol. I am Val fan. I am a Normani fan. Him taking off his shirt during the country jive was completely unnecessary. Just stop bro lol. 99% of the time the performance does not warrant you taking off your shirt. Plus, Normani is more than a competent dancer to keep your clothes on.
  7. Last week, Nancy danced to En Vogue's Free Your Mind, which has been done twice on the show. Famously with Maks and Mel B., and another with Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer.
  8. I think it was right of Len to call out Heather, but not in the way he did it. I imagine for most commercial hip hop/street jazz dancers that decide to go the entertainment route (not broadway or dance company), then doing back up for Beyonce is pretty much one of the most prestigious jobs you can get. Again, this is for dancers who CHOOSE to go the entertainment- non Broadway or dance company- route for a dance career. With that being said, if you have the training to get that kind of job and work on Glee for essentially her dancing, then she should have enough discipline in her training, and respect for the dance style she's been assigned, to remain loyal to what she's been assigned for that week. I think of Len would have framed it that way, it would have been more understandable. At the end of the day, Heather is a professional dancer and for Len to dismiss her experience, IMHO is a little rude. However, he's the judge and she's not so... this is what she signed up for, and there's at least one female contestant every year that gets a bad edit and a I guess it's her.
  9. Sorry, I know she's an American hero, but I really dislike Simone. Like... for real dislike her. The cutesy, giggly thing was tolerable on Laurie because she's 16, but on Simone (whom I believe is 20) I just find it really irritating. She seems super short even for Sasha so that was distracting during their dance and she gives me like... the worst combo of Laurie and Bindi.
  10. Gotcha... Jenna has stated things publicly about their relationship? Where can I find this juice??? lol I noticed she's not in the troupe this year. I wonder if their relationship has factored into that.
  11. What happened: A contestant for the new bachelorette season, who initially received a fair amount of squeals from the audience because he was attractive, walked up to Rachel and said "I want to go black, and I'll never go back." or something to that extent. It was pretty awkward and Rachel handled it as best she could. Also, i don't think a person has the the first or the only to receive those kind of comments but for Rachel it definitely applies I mean... he obviously wouldn't have made that comment to JoJo lol. That's all I'm saying...
  12. I mean... if your friends are surprised that the first black bachelorette had to (through no fault or prompting of her own) deal with an inappropriate comment that was "racial" and "ethnic" then I encourage them to watch as I'm sure other A.A. Can relate to scenarios when they were singled out for race when they were "the first" or "the only" in a situation.
  13. Val posted this video of his and Normani's practice and all I can say is I'm impressed. This season is going to be stiff competition with the athletes and performers...
  14. So Bonnie got her powers back right? That's what that pulse was at the end?
  15. Thank you. I felt the exact same way. I was like yea... that's what's haunting the plantation mansion... the white girl missing her doll... ugh.
  16. I think I said about 2-3 episodes ago that I did not see genuine chemistry between Nick and Rachel, and now I completely take that back. I honestly fast forward through one-on-ones but I watched this one in full. It was nice to see Rachel's normal and mature contrasted with Corrine and Taylor's mean girl antics. I'll attribute some of that to the ... 7-8 year age difference between Rachel and the 2 girls lol.
  17. I find this show to be the best and the worst things about prototypical WB/CW shows combined. I echo the poster who said that Archie looks remarkably like Stefan Salvatore. However, even when Stefan was simply Elena's love interest, I found his character to be entirely more compelling than this Archie. However it is a pilot and I'll give that time. Betty and Veronica, or Joey (the girl from home that gets no love) and Jenn (the girl from NY that's instantly loved) are the best parts of the show. Even though honestly for Veronica's character it really DOES NOT make sense that she'd hook up with Archie. A girl who went to Spence in Manhattan of all schools wouldn't give Archie the time of day, even if she's trying to be a reformed good girl. If she did, I think it would take more than what... the first few days of school? The dialogue seemed overly affected, too referential for no real point. Again, perhaps this is the Dawson influence but I guess there's a microscopic line between overly self aware and pretension. Will watch the next few episodes to see where it goes...
  18. Completely different opinion. As a teacher, I teach my students about self advocacy. Obviously when you're speaking to an adult or an authority you need to be respectful but Nia and her mother were completely within their rights to call Abby out on something that if some how a "The Help" themed dance or ANY dance really that had Maddy as a lead would have Maddy at the top of the pyramid. That's just a fact. Period. Abby, who doesn't even know what an Uncle Tom is and I completely disagreed with Holly's comparison Camryn's character being an Uncle Tom, is so clearly trying to pit the 2 black girls against each other and obviously she's succeeding when it comes to the mothers. I don't see Nia's diva behavior as Nia hasn't had any special role on the team in months with the exception of the past 2 weeks is always backstage telling the girls how great they were. Soon enough she'll be 18 and on her own and if she'll have many Abby's to deal w/ in the industry and if she can hold her own then she'll go far. She already was casted in a fairly successful Off Broadway play and I feel like that wasn't even brought up on the show...
  19. As someone who fans of both growing up and went to 2 NSYNC concerts I still contend that AJ McClean and JC Chasez have the best voices out of all of them. Anyway 2 quick things: I know that Corrine is a producer plant bc it's obvious, she just happens to get whip cream, bouncy houses, infinite steals, etc. However her relationship with Nick is making me like Nick less and less, and I was a big fan of his prior to this. I see 0-none connection b/t him Rachel. Maybe bc her and Corrine are such polar opposites but I just don't see it. Count me as someone who's been waiting for actual African American contender for years as well. Sorry, just don't see it.
  20. Didn't see it before but I see it now! She does favor Robin Givens.
  21. Indeed. Simply acknowledging the rumor since I saw it in multiple places.
  22. http://www.gossipcop.com/usher-dancing-with-the-stars-not-joining-dwts-season-24-2017/ Apparently there were rumors that Usher would be in the next season of DWTS... Although I'm sure ABC would fight tooth and nail to get him, he's way too big of star (his new single with Chris Brown is doing very well) and he's basically a professional dancer as well as singer. If this does turn out to be true that is ONE LUCKY female pro, and I'd pick Cheryl or Emma hands down, maybe Karina if she came back bc I always loved her choreo, especially with Corbin.
