  1. Looks like TDS reruns, according to the Comedy Central schedule. No idea how long they'll continue, and I don't know whether they'll be new-ish reruns or classics (I'm guessing they'll air the last couple weeks' worth of shows rather than reaching into the vault).
  2. I was wondering that myself a couple weeks ago. Shenaz's name no longer appears in the credits (she had been listed as a contributor, along with Mike Yard and Ricky Velez), so I guess she's gone. I never thought she was a very good panelist so I can't say I miss her. I believe Holly Walker, like Robin Thede, is a writer for the show as well as an occasional on-camera personality.
  3. It's over, in both Sweden & the US. Maybe Greg Poehler will have to go back to being a lawyer now?
  4. aww, thanks!! Luckily, my contact at TDS is staying on so I'll continue to provide lineups for the Trevor Noah-era show (though it won't be the same...). Incidentally, I'm visiting Denmark right now and TDS airs here on their local Comedy Central channel -- whoever subtitles it into Danish does a heroic job. That must be a difficult gig. (Incidentally, "The Nightly Show" isn't on here, so TDS is followed by Charlie Sheen's sitcom "Anger Management" -- ugh!)
  5. They've now posted @M guests for that day: Rhys Darby (one of my 5 favorite @M panelists!) and Jim Jefferies. 3rd panelist is TBA. Also, the third 8/3 guest is Al Madrigal, rounding out an ex-correspondent trio.
  6. 8/3: Amy Schumer (comedian & actress – promoting movie “Trainwreck”) 8/4: Denis Leary (comedian & actor – promoting FX show “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll”) 8/5: Louis C.K. (comedian) 8/6: TBD
  7. I believe she'd just had a baby before they started shooting... maybe that would explain it?
  8. Mo 7/27: Jesse Joyce, Jordan Carlos, Jamie Lee Tu 7/28: Whitney Cummings, Nick Thune, Brendon Walsh We 7/29: Kurt Braunohler, Jimmy Pardo, Chris DiStefano Th 7/30: Matt Oberg, Seth Morris Mo 8/3: Rob Riggle, Ed Helms Tu 8/4: Ron Funches, Jen Kirkman, Tom Lennon We 8/5: TBA Th 8/6: Paul Scheer, Rob Huebel Mo 8/10: Brett Gelman, Judy Greer
  9. I follow TNC on Twitter, and he has taken on a lot of his critics on that platform (and occasionally in the Atlantic blog), but... he hasn't said anything about the David Brooks piece about his book, has he? (I'm not going to link to the piece itself because I don't want to responsible for giving Brooks any more clicks.) Maybe it's too fish-in-a-barrel?
  10. The Cruise booking was being discussed on a Scientology blog I follow and somebody posted: "I really doubt Jon or the producers of the Daily Show had any choice in booking him. Comedy Central and Paramount Pictures are both owned by Viacom." If that's true, it's depressing that Jon would be ordered to book certain guests during his precious final weeks. As for J.J. Abrams, though, it wouldn't surprise me a bit if that was Jon's doing... he won't be around to interview Abrams when the new "Star Wars" movie comes out, and we all know what a "SW" fan boy he is.
  11. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Hillary Clinton during the week of 8/3.
  12. One of the things I learned from the GQ article was that after he had achieved huge fame and success in SA, Noah moved to Pasadena and spent a year traveling around the U.S. playing comedy clubs in all sorts of rinky-dink towns. So he's seen a fair amount of the U.S. I'm still not sure how well he will do as host, but I feel like I should watch at least his first month's worth of shows before I decide whether to continue.
  13. 7/27: Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX, author – promoting book “A Time for Truth: Reigniting the Promise of America”) 7/28: Tom Cruise (actor – promoting movie “Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation”) 7/29: Doris Kearns Goodwin (Pulitzer Prize-winning author and presidential historian) 7/30: J.J. Abrams (producer – promoting movie “Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation”) I have to admit I'd almost rather see crazy ol' Ted Cruz on TDS than Tom Cruise, knowing that there's a zero percent chance that Jon will ask Tom any tough questions about his background in Scientology. Read this (posted today) if you want to know the kind of thing journalists SHOULD be asking Tom about. I'm sure Jon will be rather combative with Sen. Cruz and nothing but nice to Tom Cruise. (sigh) On the other hand... Doris Kearns Goodwin!!!
  14. Wow, that was a really interesting article. Thanks for posting that, possibilities. Speaking of Noah, he was on Jerry Seinfeld's web series recently.
  15. Oh, there are 7-11s all over Stockholm. I don't think they sell Slurpees at all in Sweden, but 7-11 does sell hot dogs topped with shrimp salad; here's a photo.
  16. A web site published a list of about 2/3 of the 100 comics who will be competing. At least a few of the names will probably be familiar to comedy fans; some of the people on the list have appeared on "Conan," Comedy Central, etc.
  17. My husband is on the board of our local food bank, and props to our local Safeway & Trader Joe's stores, they give away TONS of food (including produce) to the bank every year. He's planning to share the video with the rest of the board. As for the "ugly" peaches etc., I would think there would be lots of uses for them, like making pies, jam, etc.? I wish there was a way to connect the farms with people who might be interested in using the discarded produce to make goods to sell at farmers' markets, or even industrial users (Smuckers, etc.). At the VERY least, how about using it for animal feed? A local urban farmer here in the Bay Area has written about how she fed her pigs with discarded produce from vendors in Oakland's Chinatown. Very good piece and I hope it results in some changes being made.
  18. Swedish engagement rings frequently have no diamonds at all -- and they're pretty inexpensive, which you'd think Bruce would appreciate, considering that he's unemployed. I loved the subplot about Emma as "the chairman of the bored." This was definitely the better of the two eps.
  19. I was heartbroken to see that the first GOP debate (on Fox, no less!) is the same night as Jon's last show.
  20. I always wished that Ollie and Larry had done more pieces together. They were a stellar team!
  21. And they're going to be doubling them up, with 2 episodes running each Sunday, from 8-9 PM ET/PT.
  22. Jennifer is not that unusual. Because my husband is such a big classic/progressive rock fan, I've been to a lot of concerts with him (in return, he goes with me to see my favorite bands). I judge the female fan quotient at shows by the length of the line to the women's room. At Rush gigs the lines are pretty equal. Their fan base is quite diverse in regard to age and race too. Now, if a female King Crimson superfan showed up on Jeopardy!, THEN I'd be surprised.
  23. I found "all right" lady a million times more annoying than Jennifer. If she had won tonight, I would probably have had to quit watching until she was gone. My husband is a HUGE Rush fan (we have tix to see them next week...) and he practically jumped off the couch when Jennifer started talking about them yesterday. She is a bit of a kook (to quote one of the palindrome answers) but I find her kind of endearing.
  24. One last Emmy nom for the Report: Outstanding Variety Talk Series The Colbert Report, Comedy Central The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, Comedy Central Jimmy Kimmel Live!, ABC Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, HBO The Late Show With David Letterman, CBS The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, NBC
