  1. Or maybe one thread for all past seasons?
  2. I must admit I thought Sagan for FJ was a total gimme, with the billions right in the clue.
  3. From USA Today: Benedict Cumberbatch's newest mission: playing a good-looking and debonair secret agent. Who also happens to be a wolf. (In Penguins of Madagascar.)
  4. From BBC America: LISTEN: Benedict Cumberbatch Reads D-Day Bulletins For 70th Anniversary. You can listen to Benedict's first recording--part of the original BBC radio new report from D-Day--there. And you can see the scripts and hear clips of all the readers (including a longer clip of Benedict) at Radio4. *** Entertainment Weekly has the first stills from The Imitation Game.
  5. From the Sutton Coldfield Observer: Film starring Martin Freeman and Tom Hollander helps Perry Barr man to award. (The award is the "Best UK Film" at the Manchester International Film Festival, for the short, "The Voorman Problem.")
  6. And certainly there were plenty interested in Ken Jennings--he still hasn't worn out his welcome for me!
  7. And before that, there was an interview with Dame Judi Dench; when they opened it up to questions from the audience, Benedict waved his hand and asked: (Source: the Telegraph, among others.) ETA : The letter from Richard Avedon to his father is up now. *** This is more a "might be" than anything else: Benedict Cumberbatch And Tom Hiddleston To Star In First World War Movie?. The producer has confirmed that the actors are being considered, but have not yet been approached, so take that as you will!
  8. The father's "bottle dance"? That is NOT the bottle dance. THIS is the bottle dance (starting at about 1:15):
  9. Here's Mark Gatiss talking, amongst other things, about Sherlock, at the 2014 BAFTAs on May 18:
  10. You can listen to Benedict reading the bronze medalist story in the 9-and-under category of this year's 500 Words competition here at Radio Times. (It's a good story, too!) And he's done the voice-over for a spot in which a footballer melts in the heat (of Brazil); you can read about it at CampaignLive, and see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzfLcV6S8do
  11. The sacrifices we make... ;)
  12. I'd say it was a bit uneven, with some parts being excellent and some rather silly. (But then, some of the original stories were rather silly, such as--notably!--The Creeping Man.)
  13. She may have minored--or even had a second, undeclared, major--in engineering, or been close enough that a summer semester, or some night courses, would have brought her up to engineering school requirements. Grad schools tend to appreciate someone who has done well in more than one field. And a person can have a job and still be open to career possibilities elsewhere--it's always easiest to find a new job if you are already employed.
  14. I think that's right, Gilmel--didn't Alex say tomorrow she'd tie for 2nd? (And I did not get FJ today--I don't know much about opera, I'm afraid.)
  15. There's an in-depth interview with Martin Freeman, mostly talking about Fargo, on Yahoo! Celebrity/Philippines
  16. Remember the card Benedict created for a charity (above, May 7)? Greeting card designed by Benedict Cumberbatch sells for £2,649. (Source: the Express) *** From the Park Theatre Gala (above, May 19), there is video: Video by Red Carpet News TV In which Benedict talks about the importance of live theater. (Source: Unreality TV) *** From Variety: Benedict Cumberbatch Replaces Guy Pearce in Johnny Depp’s Whitey Bulger Movie.
  17. Alex and Jason Mraz pwned the duets! (And it's the first one where both singers looked like they were equally happy to be dueting.)
  18. She forgot to put on her costume and went out in her teddy.
  19. But it was clear enough that he was talking about, for example, the end of a song or phrase when he said something like "ending on the nine"--and that was the fastest, clearest way to convey his point to Alex, who did understand the term. I think that's more than fine. (And hey, if HCJ says something we don't understand, that's what Google is for! A day you learn something new is a day not wasted. :))
  20. Less a discussion than a heads-up: if you're a Holmes-aholic and you also can get to London, Sherlock Holmes exhibition set to come to London--the Museum of London, to be exact. {Source: ITV.com}
  21. Meh. I don't even remember any individual performances--and there were only six!
  22. Remember Martin talking about a possible single episode to appear between now and season 4? Sherlock will not be returning for one-off film, says actor Mark Gatiss. (From the Daily Star.)
  23. And more from the flower show, videos this time... An interview with Benedict: Video posted by Solei Holopainen And a joint interview with Benedict and his mother, plus footage of the two of them strolling among and discussing the flowers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldWaHbTnv1c Video posted by Tatjana R And there's an article with another photo (and including both videos) on the BBC America website: WATCH: Benedict Cumberbatch and his Mum at the Chelsea Flower Show
  24. You'll have to go to the articles in question, but there are several photos of Benedict at the Chelsea Flower Show, with and without his mum, courtesy of RadioTimes and Twitter; and a few of Benedict at the Park Theatre gala, from the Daily Mail. (I like the pink shirt at the flower show.)
  25. It's not a rant, but it IS video of Mark Gatiss in a tux, and he IS talking about scheduling: From RadioTimes: Mark Gatiss reveals they've made "significant progress" in finding time to shoot series 4
