  1. Though she didn't really come to that realization until the end, when her dad pointed it out. Along that line, the only possible flaw I personally thought of was that Bow’s dad came off as a little too wise and all knowing, but maybe that was some subtle twist on the “magical Negro” trope? And I know it made sense in that Dre wasn’t around many white people growing up but it still made me a little sad that Bow’s father was the first and last white man to ever hug him!
  2. I was actually trying to remember what Dre's reaction was to Zoe's white boyfriend (there was some blond guy that lasted a couple eps, right?) , but the brain hasn't been as reliable since 11/8!! I enjoyed Bow's exploration of herself, her identity and race - it's not something I've seen tackled much before, especially on network TV.
  3. Isn't that the realization she comes to though, with help from her dad? It seemed like her identity issues were taking the priority in her mind, so her dad being a more objective 3rd party pointing this out made sense to me. She's been dealing with issues related to being biracial her whole life. Junior having a girlfriend, and however that may reflect on what he thinks of his mother, is a much newer experience. Loved the episode - funny and thought-provoking. I hope we at least get a hint of whether Johan/Ruby happened. I LOVED that at the end he was the one seeking her out.
  4. One of my favorite new shows this year. Hilarious and crushing - my favorite combination. And I've managed to get 4 people to watch it!! Also binged Crashing, another comedy with Phoebe. Didn't like it AS much, some annoying love triangle stuff but still plenty of LOL moments, so recommend it. Only 6 eps, on Netflix.
  5. They do a good job of aging him up. Compare this with the last season of Hannibal, especially a particularly epic fight scene and he looks more his age.
  6. They did have some sort of conversation about it. Ava relented (UGH) and said they could share. It may have been around the NB but can't remember. This still doesn't explain why Sonny is acting like he has sole custody NOW.
  7. Season finale I believe. It was that and Dre being nervous about his job. And I read on a review this was meant to be the 4th episode so that probably explains why money wasn't an issue once again! Kinda glad they got this out of the way. I didn't hate it, but it felt too much like a commercial.
  8. Sonny is the absolute worst at insults. First, "I'll be dead before Carly's a widow" and now "I'll see you in hell" which means he's going there too. Oy vey. Could the dangerous criminal be Raymond Berlin?
  9. So Beatrice isn't the only sister who has committed incest!! Though at least it wasn't purposeful on Lillian's part. Oh, Peepers. I was starting to think Dodo might have a rival in his heart after that cheese grating scene!
  10. Is Maxie's interviewee at Crimson going to be Claudette, finally?
  11. Holy shit, I was not expecting that. I thought that Elizabeth might give a last minute reprieve, thinking of herself in baby John's shoes with his mother being beheaded but nope. I still hate that Lola thought that Mary would ever give that order - Mary's been very consistent in not wanting Elizabeth dead - but given Elizabeth's actions to take Mary's throne I sort of can see why she bought it. Lola's goodbye to John and Narcisse in the snow was beautifully shot and now so sad thinking on it. So the nanny is the only person that knows Lola got that fake letter from Mary, right? I wonder how that will come to light next season. Was Leith definitely dead? I mean, a gut wound is basically unsurvivable in those days, but did we see him expire? If not I expect shenanigans where Claude gets comfort from de Guise only for Leith to show back up. Could it have been his man or at least someone he paid off that did it though? That was him at the end, wasn't it? He and Catherine were very affectionate. He was a cute moppet, though I wonder if they'll try to age him up at all. The way Mary's brother looks at her sometimes - I wonder if he wishes they weren't related. Nice play with the priest though, Mary. You definitely learned from Catherine. And now we have a decent reason for her to marry Darnley. She's pissed and wants Elizabeth's throne - Darnley's a good way to make her claim more credible.
  12. She hasn't as far as I remember. She was just selling and not using Vee's stash.
  13. OMG, John Barrowman on Reign. Everything I needed but never knew I wanted. His real accent? In a kilt? Dancing? I do wish he got to share a screen with Craig Parker, but Mary was so badass that I'm not even mad at her for killing him. Catherine was of course, sublime. I loved her calling Leith an idiot! heh. I don't even dislike him but it's so true.
  14. Darnley has been cast! http://tvline.com/2016/06/07/reign-will-kemp-lord-darnley-season-4-cast/
  15. Well that was fun to let England have the sillier sideplot. That Prince was ridiculous. I loved it. Him beaning Elizabeth on the head with the snowball - TWICE - ha! And his overdramatic, "I hate to have to do this, but you are BANNED from Denmark." Lola seemed devastated. Though too bad she couldn't get any side action in with the cute companion. I enjoy Mary and Narcisse together. I like that they don't sugarcoat anything they say to each other. I was a bit bummed he took off, though who knows how long that will last. I like Claude and Charles, but honestly, they need to recognize that they need Catherine. And really, Catherine's scheme with Claude's temporary husband got Claude what she wanted - the ability to choose the man she marries. My bias for Catherine is clear, but they need to get over it.
  16. Awww, we now truly know what Reign's true love story is - Mary and Catherine! I loved every single scene with the two if them and it makes me sad to think they will never share a screen again. Mary riding to the rescue bordered on cheesy as hell, but I loved it, and especially Mary being so striking with the white horse, her fierce white coat and the new sword. I did feel quite sad for her when she had her farewell with Bash - she was so alone. So even though Bash's re-emerged feelings causes plenty of eye rolling, I'm happy to she has someone with her. And adding Narcisse was a fun move.
  17. I was annoyed by the fight club scenes in the preview, but then I got shirtless, bloody Craig Parker fighting a "gladiator" and I'm happy. Finally all in for Elizabeth. This was definitely her best ep, for me. I felt bad for all the women involved in the Anne B story. Castleroy!! That was adorable. But they better end up in Scotland next season. I'm not even sure what to think about Bash's reemerged feelings. Knowing this show it could be a moot point by minute 12 next week. The poisoning of the generals was chilling. Eeek, I really am curious about how they get out of this! I did find it adorable that Catherine thought Mary sent her some fabulous wardrobe item. She seemed so excited!
  18. Oh no!! I was so consumed with losing Davina/Marcel that I didn't think of Josh's reaction. Sniff. Even though I am in complete denial that Davina is truly gone, this was still a heartbreaker. The father/daughter relationship with Marcel and Davina has been my favorite relationship on the show. It feels very weird and wrong to be mad at Elijah, but here we are. The Klaus/Caroline shipper in me didn't like that Haley assumed Cami was the light of Klaus' life and one of the only reasons he wouldn't sink back into psychopath-dom. Totally agree about Vincent's hotness. It has been increasing, or at least my notice of it has been.
  19. I'm pretty sure it was because she was single white female-ing Bobbie to get her revenge. I can't believe how boring this show has become. Oh, wait, I can - that's these writers' specialty.
  20. This episode was fun! I felt like there was basically no filler which always makes for a good episode. Greer's hair looked like a hot mess from many angles. I do appreciate that as soon as she was out of the castle her hair looked like shit, but doesn't she have enough money now to get it a bit more under control? I liked that she was fully honest with Mary though - it couldn't have been easy. But really, what kind of life would she have in Scotland? In France she has some semblance of independence. It does make me curious how the show will be structured if Mary does make it to Scotland - and with the renewal for next season I feel like they must end up there at some point. Will it be split between France and Scotland? I can't imagine they would want to get rid of Catherine/MF. I also keep trying to figure out if they are trying to make Gideon into a substitute for the Darnley or Bothwell character. He seems too intelligent to be Darnley but too soft for what I envision Bothwell to be (plus it seems exceptionally important to keep Bothwell Scottish). I miss Kenna.
  21. I just got caught up on the last couple of eps. This one really hurt. I am a sucker for the moments when Mary and Catherine bond, so I totally lost it when Catherine went to get Mary to let go of Francis and Mary started sobbing in her arms. I am very curious about where they will go next. Technically Mary would have to stay in France long enough to prove she isn't pregnant. And I am very happy to have Catherine front and center for as long as possible, but I am also very curious how they will handle Darnley and eventually Bothwell, assuming the show lasts beyond this season.
  22. It HAS to be Magic Mike: 3D. Some parts definitely dragged but I was appreciative of the hotness, which there was plenty. I loved Ritchie's "journey" - Joe M is great at comedy. The convenience store, throwing the phone out, talking about not getting laid, and that whole think with Andie McDowell, aka the Glass Slipper, was great. And I loved his solo routine at the end. Hot. Also loved Bomer's routine at the end - the singing then the butt peeking out at the back? Yum yum yum. CT and tWitch's routine was fantastic, and the expressions on the ladies' faces was great. I also appreciated it wasn't just the skinny gals who got some fabulous attention from the boys. I hadn't realized Elizabeth Banks was in this - did she request a part? I would have been happy to have been on that set.
  23. AND holding Avery, just too much. it's a damn good look for him. I've watched all the eps but can't even remember if anyone has bothered to let Michael know about "Denise." Hey, I just tried on the dress Lucy was wearing! It's Calvin Klein. She looked way better in it than I did. I feel like it's been forever since I've seen Liz and Jake's epic love. That makes for a banner week.
  24. Clearly baby Dillion was nowhere as cute as Avery ;) And I do think that, even though she was already a teen, the relationship with Lulu activated Tracy's motherly side in a way Ned/Dillon did not. And I won't be surprised if Jordan sours on being a good cop - but I like she's so gung-ho from the start.
  25. Christ, Avery is sooooooo cute. She's close to beating out Sydney from Days as the cutest soap baby ever. I like Dillon so far but he looks too tanned and the hair needs to change. Too high. It's a shame Tracy/Ned didn't get a proper goodbye. Also curious about her reaction to the baby's "death" as she was really looking forward to having another kid in the house. I really like the vibe between Valerie and Jordan. It's the most I've like Valerie so far. And I love that Jordan is dedicated to being a good commissioner. I was woried she would turn her back on law enforcement after Sean and TJ felt so "betrayed" (barf). I want Ric and Ava to meet. Get Ric away from the hell that is Franco/Nina.
