  1. Also, Carole needs to stop referring to herself as a "girl". I am her age and it just doesn't work. It makes people notice your age more, if anything. I think "girl" needs to be retired at 21...men don't refer to themselves as "boys" very often...and no one thinks of fifty-year old men as boys, that is for sure.
  2. I couldn't really feel too sorry for Bethany...why not just rent a place until her new place is "done"? I guess no one buys in NYC without renovating first? You would think by now, all the apartments would have been renovated inside already...living in hotels is not the only option and also, not exactly a hardship. I wouldn't live anywhere else, if I had money. Sonja is a selfish, self-absorbed B. No ones cares about her 9.5 year marriage that end over ten years ago. She had her pity parties, let Ramona have hers. Ramona is going through a huge shock, due to her total blinders regarding Mario. And they should not be dragging Avery into their marital mess. That is not for a child to hear. So Mario had a mid-life crisis-how original. Carol has become awfully full of herself over the years. And Kristen always has been. She has to use "pretty" every time she refers to herself? Is she that insecure? Her little girl is cute though, for now. If she takes after Josh, that could be another story.
  3. Hardy is really the only character I can stand on this show. Miller is okay though she has been pretty dense, and slow to come around and behave like a cop. The rest of them I can't give two #^%€£ about.
  4. Beth agreeing to the pedophile group thing is just plain stupid. There is no fixing those freaks. There are plenty of ways she could honor Danny that could actually help people. That is a huge waste of time for all involved. A little too bleeding heart even for me as a liberal. Good grief.
  5. It was ridiculous that Ellie and others were so shocked that her sister's testimony was a mess...give me a break...what did they expect?
  6. I like Hardy because he is tough, grouchy and a bit condescending...not in spite of it. He landed in this town of lunatics, freaks and imbeciles...who,wouldn't be grouchy and disgusted much of the time...
  7. I am not hating on the kid playing Tom. It is just that he does not look like a child of about twelve. Beth hasn't had the baby yet, so it can't be that years have passed...he just really sticks out as not being right for the part anymore. He (Tom) would have been more compelling and sympathetic if he actually looked like a child, since he is acting the fool/childish. Sometimes actors outgrow parts.
  8. The "kid" reporter (Oliver?) is despicable. He really turned into a toad over this case.
  9. Tom might be a bit more sympathetic of a character if he did not suddenly look like a man in his twenties...he really should not have continued in this role after his growth spurt or whatever. I just can't see him as a contemporary of Danny's. I find the other case completely uninteresting. I find both lawyers to be intensely annoying. Of course that could be said of almost anyone on this show. Their sad sob stories do not move me at all. Joe is one piece of crap. What a whiny, spineless waste of space. He does not care about anyone, not even his family, as long as he gets off. Also I found the idea of Beth getting involved with a group to work with pedophiles to be ridiculous. The only way that would ring true for me is if she had agreed but then smuggled a gun into the session and shot them all.
  10. I would never have thought a show I thought was one of the best in years would turn into one I would make fun of, from just one season to the next...but good grief.
  11. I would have called 911...or 999, whatever it is in the UK...
  12. I am so not impressed with the prosecutor...and loathe that woman helping the defense (not crazy about defense lawyer either). But then I can't bring myself to like any defense lawyers, lol, when they are so determined to get a confessed child murderer "off" at any cost. Honestly, though, Jocelyn just comes off looking clueless...how many times already have things come out that she had no clue about? If the defense can find them out, why can't she and her little helper? Because she is keeping him too busy transcribing? Then she should have more help. She just looks unprepared and witless. Also...too many backstories with these people. I can't bring myself t care about Jocelyn's mother or the other one's son. Not everyone needs to have such complicated stories...good grief. So far, Ellie had the most "normal" life and her husband is a pedophile/killer...
  13. Throwing out the confessions makes the judge look like an idiot, and I know it is just fictional TV, but makes a joke of the British justice system. Apparently the defense can suggest anything? Why not say the cop may have peed on him while reading his rights? May have made bad jokes about his mother? I mean, seriously, this is just bad writing.
  14. I am really hating the defense...I hate that anyone would defend this pervert. I know, I know, but still. And I dislike how easily the confession was tossed...all she had to do was suggest things that could have happened? And that's that? What a load of bull. I don't see that as being in the interest of justice. It should have been an issue for the jury to decide. Beth has been behaving so crazy, you would think she has forgotten she was pregnant...hasn't she ever been told it is not good for the baby to have emotional outbursts and basically lose her sh*t? Yes I feel sorry for her and I am no Ellie fan, but geez, lady. She did not kill the child, she was just a dim, bad cop. And now she has managed to lose the confession and the guy they were trying to nail for the other case. I am getting really bad vibes about Miller going free in the end. I tend to think UK justice is a bit lenient anyway...sentences never seem to be enough for me. I just hope the jury can see past the BS. But not hopeful. If he is acquitted, the next series could have him murdered by an angry townsperson...that would provide plenty of suspects.
  15. Stacy had to have had input in this show, no? I hate to think her taste in shows is so poor, though. This show is really unbearable. I long for the good old days of Stacy and Clinton together...wish they would swallow their pride and talk a network into starting up again. And just do "real people" , no "B" celebs or total freaks. Regular women are the ones who want and need style and lifestyle advice presented in an entertaining way, and S&C are the best.
  16. I am slapping myself for watching this show...
  17. Has anyone found out when Netflix will put season two up?
  18. Whoops, Thursday night. Which is even more of a "prime" TV night of late. I think it is pretty fair to say that a lot of states in the middle of the country are overall, pro-life...maybe not each individual, but as far as their laws, dedication to religion, etc...but anyway jmo. Network tV has always been leery of offending middle America (used as a term, maybe not geographically) and abortion is probably the hottest issue in the country as far as having definite opinions. How many network shows are there that have gone through with an abortion involving a major character? A couple? I hated that her friend gave her a "speech". But did she go to her as a friend or as a patient? And then...after all that, I find I don't even care. This show has not sucked me in and this episode was enough for me to move on.
  19. I forgot to,watch this, lol. Anyway I saw the AU version too recently...not sure I can get into this one. I expect it is much worse...sounds it. Though Ben was pretty dumb in the original too.
  20. It is network TV, prime time Sunday night...reaching out to the beloved ( by networks) Mid Western market. This was as close are you are getting to abortion for the most part. It was cowardly and written for a pregnant teen, at best. Not an adult woman who dislikes children in general. And if she really has a baby to show her mother before she dies, that is pathetic. But will appeal to those Midwesterners...
  21. If it was rushed before, wow, this was much worse. Style by Jury is done better. Explains things about their body, shows a few looks, etc...
  22. I wish they had done this show with less circus-like women. I mean really? Do they advertise for freaks? Has anyone seen the audition info for this show?? Or do they just wander the streets of NY? This orange-haired woman is the most "normal" so far...and still pretty off the wall.
  23. So she did not have the abortion, I gather? What is this, will it be all about one person each episode? What does any of this have to do with the "case"? There are bunch of people who need slapping here...Anouk for babying Rosie, Rosie just because, the child molester/husband, what's his name, playing with the babysitter...and of course the kid, every day. I can't imagine how the AU version can be good, but obviously better than this, just because US remakes are the worst...
  24. Ok I never thought I would say this...but Andy C. just brought tears to my eyes. Watching the World Dog Awards, and he talked about his dog Wacha, how his life has changed since adopting him, that the dog is the most important thing in his life, etc... And he definitely meant it. I am picking up my new adopted doggie tomorrow, so I am a little emotional anyway lol... But now I can't hate AC.
  25. I guess I dn't understand raising a child so that he or she will not be capable of functioning in the world, the way it is. That kid is being taught that his wants and needs are all that matters. Good luck with that.
