  1. Of course Elena never raped Stefan. Elena wasn't a vampire a couple hundred years older than a human Stefan when they met. Circumstances. Elena would definitely want both brothers if she could have them, but she hasn't become that jaded yet, plus she has never been in the position of power Katherine was over them. Circumstances. Anyway I don't think there is much of a point splitting hairs about it. My meaning could have been just as easily conveyed by making the less extreme statement that a huge part of Stefan's attraction to Elena has to come from her similarities to Katherine, and that reliving and "fixing" a past relationship with another woman whom you have an unfair advantage over is hardly healthy.
  2. Honestly I loved the Steroline scenes this episode. That "gravity" in the near-kiss scene, the smile on her face when her back was to him, the "two glasses of bourbon", all was great. Candice is just so damn good at emoting and selling the vibes of that relationship is straight up her alley, much more so than for Paul.
  3. Case in point, Elena gets into the same love triangle as Catherine does and plays them against each other in a similar way to Katherine despite only having a "magical" connection to one brother. At least two female doppelgangers have had affairs with Elijah and there is no connection there either. The only real difference between the doppelgangers is that the younger they are, the "purer" they are. The older they are, the more powerful and more damaged by the world and the grind of time. Silas is worse than Stefan who is worse than Tom. Et cetera.
  4. Other things to point out there, if we're going into detail. Caroline has been a much better influence for Stefan than Elena ever was. In a sense Stefan is a guy that has spent two human lifetimes living in the past, mourning his lost love, then finding it again only to get caught in the same abusive cycle as last time. Caroline seems like the first girl he has ever met that could give him a solid chance to break that and start living in the moment. Caroline has always loved Stefan. She loved him as an immature teenage girl and she only loved him more after she was turned. I firmly believe he was always her first choice. Contrast this with Elena. I scarcely need to elaborate. And finally and most importantly... Elena is Catherine. I don't think the show has done a good enough job at stressing this. They are doppelgangers. They share the same looks and the same mind, and the only thing that distinguishes them from each other are their experiences. If you treat Elena the same as Catherine, Elena will act the same as Catherine. Stefan says that "you are nothing like Catherine." Stefan lies. Either to her or to himself or to both.
  5. As much as I try I genuinely cannot for the life of me understand this sentiment. Caroline has had a crush on Stefan since the pilot episode. There's always been an underlying tension between them. I guess if you prefer them as friends, you prefer sexually frustrated friends who have a secret thing for each other. Stefan was totally hung up on Elena - remember, this is a guy who has only been in love with two girls in 150 years, both of which look exactly the same and share the same personality, only with Catherine being the more mature and honest of them - but notice how quick he was to start flirting with her when he lost his memories of that unfortunate history? This pairing has had an excessively long build-up and in all honesty it is completely incredible how they haven't even shared a kiss yet.
  6. I think that Kai and Jo will merge, Kai will win the merge and become "altered" by absorbing Jo's powers making him a nice guy so he can stay on forever :p
  7. She's stunning. It's just she looks... unreasonable in that picture? *confused*
  8. I mean, I know she's pretty and all that, but am I the only one who thinks she looks absolutely obnoxious in that picture?
  9. So this kind of made my day: http://tvline.com/gallery/best-worst-tv-moments-2014-photos-best-deaths-couples-cliffhangers/#!53/nashville-zoey-worst-girlfriend/ :D
  10. If Paul moves to TO, possibly with Caroline (?, it would make sense and make for some drama, I guess) that would be the end of the show. TVD plainly isn't strong enough to move on doing only the Delena Diaries. Paul would be happy to join TO, I think. He likes the guy playing Elijah a lot.
  11. They could die in a fire :) No, seriously though. I like Jeff. He's a good antagonist as long as they don't go totally overboard with the moustasche twirling. That said I really don't want the show to go Maoist Rehabilitation on his ass. Layla, however, is a pestilence for this show. It wouldn't be so bad if she was relegated to a minor role but here we have a "recurring" character, with an average voice and a mediocre story arc, getting half the new song material over people who would actually be able to do anything useful with it. They have gone mad. Still if she has to be on the show I sort of prefer her with Jeff, so I guess I agree with you after all.
  12. Oh, I know that my post was a low blow and an overgeneralization, but I couldn't really resist seeing how much shit she gets heaped on her everywhere. I'll be good now. That said I don't agree with your relativist stuff. Talent and skills aren't subjective. I might prefer listening to Debbie Harry over Luciano Pavarotti but in no reality would I not concede that Pavarotti is the greater singer. I find a lot of the Scarlett bashing on the web to be genuinely dishonest.
  13. Oh, she's insanely cute. 90% of the people hating on her looks and her voice are bitter and jealous women who know she could steal their men with a whip of an eyelash.
  14. Vampire blood does whatever the writers want it to do. If they needed it to, it would make you walk on water and shit unicorns. If they don't, it will be as powerful as strawberry pop. It's the same as with witches, only witches are much, much worse...
  15. There is absolutely no way they will ever let us get rid of the Scourge of Nashville. She'll be around to stink out every episode and steal all the songs from more deserving people, count on it.
  16. Scarlett hooks up with Hot Doc and Gunnar with Sadie?
  17. Well, yeah, Clare and Sam have kinda been smoking out the television set all since the pilot, so ;)
  18. Wow, I'm sorry but for my money that is just factually incorrect. Zoey does harmonize better with both the boys while Scarlett doesn't harmonize well at all with Avery; however Gunnar blends perfectly with both S/A and that makes him the glue in that trio. But Zoey most definitely fades into the background, she sings more or less as a backup singer - if you listen to all Z/A/G songs, they are very dominated by the male vocals - and Scarlett has way more punch and character to her voice. That is exactly why she doesn't blend so well with Avery who also has a lot of character. Another point to be made is that Scarlett has a lot more power and expression in the high register than Zoey does which gives her more tools to stand out harmonically. The S/A/G coupling has far more potential than the Z/A/G did but it will be a bit harder to arrange them for the reasons I stated.
  19. The SAG band name will be revealed in 3x15, apparently.
  20. It makes perfect sense since they are both sort of assholes that the writers now try to show as human beings (redemption soap meme #1.) Luke didn't actively try to ruin Layla's career, he just saw that she was tanking and decided not to support her. Layla on the other hand actively tried to ruin both Scarlett's and Juliette's career and was blackmailing Jeff into spending money on her.
  21. D/R conversation last episode: "I'm sorry that I sold you out to a tabloid magazine." "I love you." "I'm happy that I sold you out to a tabloid magazine."
  22. First of all, the show jumped the shark, as I've mentioned before, right after Season 1 Episode 13, when they had both Scarlett and Gunnar perform a 180 and go completely OOC in order to create synthetic drama. That's when the show clearly decided that sappy soap writing was preferrable to consistent writing and characters actually doing what made the show a success in the first place, i.e. performing. Breaking up the best sounding duet on the show in such a contrived way and never relenting in putting one unbelievable roadblock after another in the way of their relationship, thus ensuring they could hardly occupy the same room together let alone sing, was absolutely unforgivable. Second and when it comes to predictable storytelling, all my respect for the writers of this show vanished when I successfully predicted and spoiled an entire storyline in detail, well in advance, with no inside information. See this: And this: http://tvline.com/2014/11/11/nashville-season-3-spoilers-new-doctor-juliette-avery/
  23. Don't forget to add that anyone who disagrees with that notion must obviously be a male chauvinist pig or a brainwashed, confused little girl.
  24. I would bet you a lot of money this will never ever happen. Oh, and isn't amazing how she manages to turn another half-hearted apology into condescending patronizing?
  25. On another note - and this is not an attempt to bash Scarlett or Clare - but seriously, does that girl, like, party a lot? She's become so thin.
