  1. I can't believe that the Cards are such classless jerks that I'm actually going to be cheering for the Nationals.
  2. So MLB switched baseballs for the post season from the ones they've been using all year. The balls being used in the playoffs catch substantially more wind resistance and don't travel as far. Just in case you were wondering why teams that have been blasting homers all year are suddenly having them die on the warning track or hitting off the outfield wall.
  3. I'm mostly in for the family drama and not the case of the week, but it would be nice if some of the cases were complex enough to actually justify getting killer Dad's help. At least this week Malcolm and team mostly solved it on their own.
  4. Didn't Kara spend most of last season wanting Catco to only cover the pro-alien side on the issue, and writing puff pieces on good aliens to appeal to emotion and win people over? Now she's presenting only comprehensive facts on both sides and taking emotion out of it?
  5. So, let's see, we're over half way through the episode and only one person outside of the main cast has had a speaking part and isn't dead, I wonder who the killer is.
  6. I was holding out hope for a Jason guest appearance in Season 2, but they'd have probably just given us Ezra anyway.
  7. The Dark Knight is the best batman film (and one of the best superhero films period) because it, ultimately, has the guts to make the most important moment of the film Tiny Lister and some other guy (whose characters don't even have names IIRC) refusing to blow each other up to save their own lives.
  8. I guess in the sense that she was the only one of the Young Avengers kids who didn't have a familial connection to an established character. Speed and Wiccan are Wanda's dead kids somehow. Hulkling is Mar-Vell's kid. Patriot is Isaiah Bradley Cap's grandson. Stature is Scott Lang's kid, Vision is ... Vision. Kate's just a normal (rich) person who got into the superhero game and joined the team.
  9. December 15th 1991: Peggy: I need to run to the store, I forgot to get Howard something for Christmas. Steve: ...
  10. I guess that Luke just isn't the sort of person who'd run off and abandon his family for selfish reasons ....
  11. Some of the stones in the MCU are shown to require physical action/manipulation to use. Ronan has to strike the planet with the Power Stone, Loki has to touch someone's chest with the scepter to mind control them, to the point that Tony's Arc reactor protects him. Strange has to do turning hand motions to use the Time Stone. The idea that the collected stones would require some sort of physical action/motion to activate and use them all at once is at least consistent with what they showed of the stones in previous films.
  12. I hope they're not going with some sort of grey jedi balance between light and dark thing. The term Light Side is never used in the original 6 films. There's just The Force and the Dark Side side. The Force is created by the natural cycle of life and death the binds all living things. The dark side is like a disease on the force that creates imbalance. You restore balance by getting rid of the dark force users who damage The Force by drawing on The Dark Side, which is where the whole prophecy about the Chosen One who would destroy the Sith and restore balance to The Force comes from. Anakin restores balance to the Force when he turns from the Dark Side and kills Palpatine.
  13. Iron Man 4, starring Tom Holland as Peter Stark, Tony's long lost son who grew up in Queens with his Aunt June Reilly.
  14. Mark Melancon had the phonetic spelling of his name on the back of his jersey tonight. Chip Caray still mispronounced it.
  15. I think the black jerseys are pretty cool, it's a bit much with the black pants, but if you paired them with the normal uniform pants it would be a good look
  16. This was one of the worst aspects of adapting the story. They tried to give Thanos depth and a motivation that paints him as believing that he's serving a greater good. Okay, fine, but having him snap away half the plants when he spends most of the movie pointing at limited resources as his motivation is just dumb. Thanos in the comics was just a lunatic that wanted to kill half the life in the universe to impress Death. So of course he'll kill off half the animals and the plants too.
  17. I'm not sure what you mean here. A child of Pepper and Tony born earlier or later would, genetically, be Morgan Stark's sibling. If they did time the conception out right the most likely result would still be the same egg with a different sperm. Which still is less genetically Morgan Stark than a clone or identical twin. IW Thanos thought that eliminating half the life in the universe to make the lives of the remaining 50% better was the easiest solution. EG Thanos decides that the easiest solution is to make a universe that is ignorant of what they lost so that people would be happy. Undoing the Snap might be easiest, but it's still taking away life on an incredible scale to try to create a better world.
  18. The odds against any particular biological child being born are very high. Even if you could figure out the right day that conception happened it would still be very unlikely to recreate the conditions exactly. This is before getting into the impossible to account for variables that would be introduced by undoing the snap. What you're suggesting is that Tony should be willing to unmake his daughter because he can just have another kid. And this isn't just Tony's daughter, there are 5 years worth of kids. Assuming global birth rates remained the same you'd be talking somewhere around 65 Million kids. A year. On Earth alone. Add in the rest of the universe and you're talking about sacrificing an astronomical number of completely innocent lives. It's an evil act on a staggering scale.
  19. I used to love Coke II when I was a kid, I keep considering buying the Stranger Things New Coke box so I can taste it again, but I'm stuck on paying $20 to drink 2 cans of Coke.
  20. I just wish they'd stop acting like the only thing that creates a new timeline is taking an infinity stone as justification for Steve being able to go back. The film very explicitly addresses that they can't go back and kill Thanos as a baby.
  21. I dropped HBO so I haven't watched this season, have they done anything of note with the kids this season?
  22. Mike had a similar trajectory last season. I think that Mike is one of those people who is good to have around in a crisis but can be pretty obnoxious when he doesn't have a big problem to focus on. Which, I guess, is why he's the "Paladin" of the group.
  23. I think the idea of a shot/challenge where all the MCU women come together is cool. My problem with the scene is that Carol had just blasted straight through Thanos's warship like it was nothing in one of the coolest moments of the battle so initially the scene plays more to me like Peter is underestimating Carol rather than it seeming like a dire challenge that should require all the MCU ladies working together.
  24. I don't know that I'd characterize Max as thinking that El's powers are fun to play with at this point, she's obviously concerned about Billy's safety and is desperate for anything that might help while Mike has no connection to Billy or any of the flayed unlike in previous seasons when he was fine with El using her powers to help Will. If Karen had been the second flayed instead of Heather would he still be trying to talk El out of using her powers, or would he be rolling with what looked like the only chance to help his Mom?
  25. The way the show depicts the Upside Down has always most reminded me of the way the film Constantine depicted Hell as a sort of post apocalyptic mirror version of modern Earth rather than the traditional cavern filled with fire and brimstone.
