  1. Actually, they were supposed to drive across the Andes (inland) towards Argentina...and instead drove north for hours. When they saw the Pacific Ocean on their left...they knew they were done.
  2. I was hoping to see Foil Arms and Hog somewhere along the line in Dublin. Have no idea if they were out of the country on tour or not....but had my fingers crossed. Nope.
  3. If there is someone to sign safety instructions (which would not be necessary at some of the challenges), I would assume that person was hired to be on hand throughout the Race. Rob may not have been aware that there was someone was there all the way through...if he only saw them a few times. Very happy with the final 3. Been a long time since I've been able to say that.
  4. Calder's involvement with a possible suspect was funny yet really dumb. And she knew it. I didn't realize that the older woman was the one with the sheep "attacks" -- until I read it above. Thanks. The Bains must have hundreds of secrets, lol. I enjoyed the episode. Tosh is showing her top skills now.
  5. No matter how evil Granny Bains is, she will never top Donna Killick.
  6. Actually, they forgot to attach the dragon's tail....and had to have it rechecked by the Dragonmaster.
  7. Dockweiler was on borrowed time in prison. It was noted that he refused to join any gang for protection (i.e. Aryan Bros)..."like he had a death wish." Of course, not sure with his criminal history even the Aryan Bros. would have accepted him, lol. Borders would have arranged the hotshot for favors (Bosch getting the guards to let him have a cell phone, drugs, etc.). Even if the call was recorded....Borders was implicating himself, too. None of the guards would ever admit their part in any scheme...so it would come down to Borders word vs Harry's.
  8. Really enjoyed this episode. Challenges that were tough....but not ridiculously so. I would have chosen the dolls simply because it sounded like it was within my skill set. The dancing was simple choreography .... but balancing the bowls made it frustrating for so many of them.
  9. Bele was and always will be a liar who blames everything on others, never holding herself accountable. Her rant at Lady Hume rang totally hollow to me, Yes, the Tories brought about many of the cuts in spending for the public services sector which caused major issues for the homeless, downtrodden, etc. However, she caused so many of own problems, the sanctimonious act was a farce. After blaming Lord Hume for her daughter and grandson's death, she found out that they were indeed accidental death and suicide. Lord Hume had many things to be ashamed of....just not the specific "crimes" Bele held against him. I don't for one minute believe that having vodka poured down her throat brought about instant alcoholism. She will find a way to further destroy Jay's life, too.
  10. I'm so glad that the teams -- so far -- are all pretty likable. I have favorites, but I don't actively want any of them to fail. The teams that were eliminated were good sports...and genuinely seemed to be thrilled just to compete. Of course, when killer fatigue starts to hit them, I'm sue some negativity will surface.
  11. Really enjoyed the premiere....the extra 30 minutes allowed for learning more about each time than past seasons. I can't say any of the teams annoyed me, and some were very pleasant. I have a bias...I am rooting for Andrea and Melaina. They live in Philly....where I was born and raised. Really impressed by: Anna Leigh zipping across the wire and Rob rocking the word puzzle. The Philly women were smart to pass on the bug eating...they were never going to beat the women already there. I got the word puzzle - City of Angels after about 5 minutes - but rejected it because (in my mind) they were already in the only City of Angles I know, lol.
  12. I haven't seen Entrapped....but loved the two series i did watch. The atmosphere and mood were intense particularly in the first series.
  13. The Andalusian flag was definitely different than the others...and not just the color. Plus, as others have said, they had seen it earlier. I suspect it's flown in multiple places around the city...not just carried by that tour guide.
  14. I think the inspector has been stalking her....thus he appeared at the food truck. It was not a coincidence. As someone already mentioned, they don't seem to know where they are headed with Maddie. I can believe she would be reluctant to in any way jeopardize any cop's job...including her own. But they also want her to be tough enough to tell the rape victim basically her security system would be useless -- to get a shotgun and very large dog instead. As to Maddie being skinny....most women who play cops, FBI agents, etc. on tv are very, very slender. Not very realistic.
  15. Alison and Scotty recorded a beautiful song together several years ago for one of Scotty's CDs...Carolina Moon. It works because both parties have the same goal....apparently, Lauren does not understand that. Here's a link to that collaboration.
  16. The original version of When You Say Nothing at all was a solo recording by Keith Whitley....and it was amazing. Scotty stayed true to that version....while Lauren was all over the map over singing, IMO.
  17. Yes, the all female team (at least one of which was fluent in Spanish).....and they got lost in Chile on their way to Argentina. Driving along for hours supposedly headed over the Andes into Argentina..when we suddenly saw the Pacific Ocean on their left. Mind boggling.
  18. Have no clue if the lead time remains the same as it was a few years ago, but many teams have talked about how they trained for the show....weeks and weeks of hiking, weight-lifting, biking, swimming, etc. The hockey brothers, who were in good shape to begin with, mentioned the strenuous routine they had set up pre-race. Mary from Kentucky lost some weight prior to the race because of the exercise program she followed. BTW...I thought most of the racers were very polite to the locals....I heard lots of pleases and thank yous.
  19. I kept thinking of the movie Fargo....when they buried the money without marking the spot, lol.
  20. I don't I think despised anyone as much as I did Donna in this series. I agreed with Lizzie's sister, Kate...she should have died in true pain and in terror. Not only did Donna allow an innocent man to sit in prison for 23 years....she would have let him go to jail again for another crime he didn't commit. And in series 6, she sought to punish Duncan and Jimmie for getting her convicted for killing Lizzie.
  21. You can help me, too. So....there really was no 2nd Muslim terrorist attack planned. In fact, there was no 1st Muslim terrorist attack. It was staged by the anti-immigrant crowd to enrage Hungarians, and to incite them to act against all immigrants. Alex never was sucked into a Muslim extremist group. Gomorrah's goal was simply to increase into right-wing paranoia against Muslims, etc. Am I right?
  22. Georgie's difficulty in talking about his war experiences reminded me of the movie The Best Years of Our Lives. None of the returning vets wanted to recount those awful times. The oldest of the vets had enlisted....he never would have been drafted: two kids, already in his mid to late 30s, etc. Wound up serving with the Marines in the South Pacific and Asia. His wife understood his reluctance, and did not press him about it. But you know they had a strong enough relationship that eventually he would open up to her. His teenage kids wanted to discuss future warfare and the atom bomb. You knew he would never share those war nightmares with them. I'm just hoping Geordie is able to find a way to talk to Cathy about those years as a POW.
  23. And they are going to organize a race of their own...per their Twitter account. Now isn't that a surprise? Not. They were auditioning the entire time on TAR 32 for their futures in reality tv.
  24. Regarding W/J's using the internet to research their next destination: I would imagine just about all teams do just that. In fact, it's probably so commonplace, they don't bother to include it in the episodes these days.
  25. I'm not sure Gary was aware of all the behind-the-scenes hotel-isolation either. Like you said, many fans have no clue about the heavy restrictions -- even those who watch faithfully. Until I read the post-race interview with Alexander Rossi (Indy driver), a couple of years ago, I was not aware that they were virtually confined to their rooms for 24+ hours at times. I thought he was exaggerating. He wasn't. His partner, fellow driver Connor Daly, persuaded him to enter the Race...and I don't think Connor knew about the isolation. Alexander stated he would never do the Race again...he was that frustrated by the non-race aspects. I thought Gary grew the beard at the start of the pandemic.
