  1. What was Melisandre's motivation for keeping Mance alive in the books? I know he doesn't die at this point in the books, just don't know why she sends Rattleshirt in his place.
  2. The bit about climbing 50 billion in $5s to see if she gets frostbite was worth a good hearty laugh. Also enjoyed the interactions between the new Veep's staff and Jonah. Looking forward to more of that.
  3. Count me as another who was a bit underwhelmed. I did enjoy the Jon/Mance stuff, though. I suppose I still love Melisandre, though lighting up Mance was a big strike against her.
  4. Do you watch The Americans? It made me think of them trying to get Annalise in the suitcase. Ugh.
  5. Wendy Moniz! Love her. Perception is a curious thing. While Karen Page may have been victimized in the first episode, she's certainly showing some backbone in pursuing the Union Allied thing. Claire was no victim. What about all the men that got their asses kicked? I like how they're touching on the consequences, or potential for them, of seemingly heroic acts. Finding out Fisk's name isn't a happy ending. Ripple effects.
  6. That fight was both awesome and exhausting. I liked how Matt composed himself before he walked in to get the boy. The flashbacks were good at showing the bond between father and son. Even made me feel a bit emotional, which is rare. Interesting that the father made a conscious choice to win a fight, which would lead to his own demise.
  7. As someone who knows pretty much nothing (what was The Incident?) about the Marvel Universe, I really enjoyed this, nonetheless. I tend to like darker shows, though, so that's likely what's drawing me in. I'm curious to see how they'll deal with the "hero" being just as dangerous as the villains. Aren't they all men fighting with their demons?
  8. At least, the nature of a family with sordid past who did nothing to resolve the inflicted emotional damage, lol.
  9. Especially if he had kicked the crap out of you when you were a kid. But even if I was just on vacation there, I think I'd want to break the thing by the end of the week.
  10. If I'd have had water in my mouth, that Vicki GIF would have made me spit it all over the screen! Too funny! I still love Bethenny but crying over not having a place to live was groan-worthy. How was Sonja so cool when she first started, and now she's a delusional mess? Dorinda made a good-ish first impression. Usually not a fan of The Countess but I kinda liked her in this episode.
  11. Incorrect. This scene is after John and Kevin have left. It's looking over the shoulder of the someone wearing the necklace that Danny's son is wearing.
  12. The family that dies together lies together? The lies they told after Sarah's death were like a dress rehearsal for this new cover up. There's a scene just before the pier dedication in which Danny's son opens one of the envelopes in the pile that I believe is in Danny's apartment. He pulls out a smaller envelope with money in it, pictures and a ripped piece of paper with John's name on it.
  13. Underwhelmed. The BINGO scene was fun, and it was cool that Howard finally got to be honest. I don't know, I'm just not a big fan of the penultimate episode being more exciting than the finale.
  14. This will likely be my favorite episode of this season. My only disappointment is that I was sorta-kinda hoping they'd kill Danny in a way that he could "come back from the dead", as silly as that is. With this episode, I'll have to credit the writers with maybe making me understand why Danny became such a rotten human being over the past several episodes. I don't know that it would hold up if I went back and re-watched, as his shift was abrupt, but it's working for now. Chelsea O'Bannon may be the smartest character on the show. Yes, it was stupid to give Danny her keys but I felt like she did it knowing that it was a bad decision. I had to chuckle when Danny walked away from Kevin telling him to get in the truck. Way to be intimidating with a guy, Kevin. Overall, Kevin has been a pretty big flop.
  15. Yeah, at this point it looks like the wedding isn't going to happen. Perhaps those suits were meant to throw us off?
  16. Mother O'Bannon was great. Hopefully, they'll give her a few meaty scenes in season 2.
  17. Are you showing your age? :D I think it's taboo for parents to hit their kids these days. I'm sure it still happens in some circles but I can see John and his wife being the kind of parents who don't hit their kids. It was nice to see Danny become more humanized again in this episode. I wish they would have played the boat scenes without all of the creepy looks. Why did we need to feel like Jane was in some kind of danger? I think it would have been more effective to have John losing his mind while we were seeing an innocent trip out on the water.
  18. Welcome to Bloodline. In one of the episodes I was watching yesterday, it seemed like they were dropping f-bombs in every other scene.
  19. In Sally's defense, she isn't aware of any of Danny's dirty dealings. I was disappointed in John for not making more of an effort to warn her. Mother O'Bannon is a real piece of work. Her comment about not liking Sally made me chuckle. Pleased that Meg came clean with Marco. I also liked how she went and questioned Carlos before his AA meeting. Great scene in the refrigerator. I loved John smacking Danny in the face with the pictures of the dead girl. It's a shame that Rafi Quintana had more of a conscience than Danny.
  20. Yeah, the "more to come" was odd. Maybe he sent that one to someone else, then the rest to his old apartment? It's strange to me that he's sending all that money to an apartment where the goons he owes money to might go looking for him. But I guess it's not like he's a man of rational thinking.
  21. Danny and Kevin look like the father but Meg and John don't really look much like either parent. Seeing the actress playing the young Sally made this bother me, once again. It was nice to get a little more of Danny's past filled in. I've been wondering if he's always had these sociopathic tendencies, or if it's more of a recent development. I really don't understand his Meg-hate. Now we know where all that money has been going.
  22. That made me laugh out loud. It makes me think she was already considering meeting other guys before they officially separated, but I can't say that I blame her.
  23. Like the previous episode, this one dragged for me through the middle. But by the end it had become more compelling. Pleased to see Meg stand up to Danny. I strongly dislike Kevin. Danny is a rotten everything. Son. Brother. Friend. Any sympathy the show had garnered from me for him is pretty much gone. I realize they have to set up what's to come but I wouldn't mind a bit more ambiguity. I'm almost rooting for them to kill him at this point.
  24. Interesting. At first, I recall being slightly confused as to the identity of who was beating Danny but I didn't think it was John. It all makes sense when it becomes clear why he was being beaten.
