  1. It's so stuck in my head, it made me remember we had this exact same conversation a couple seasons ago. The Tiny Tunes video brought it all back, Constantinople vs. Istanbul. That was some weird dejá vu!
  2. OMG @PBnJay, you have my deepest sympathy. Attention all you celestial viewers: Tonight is the Pink Moon, to be at its best 2200-2230 Central time tonight. "Be there or be square." Hoping @Moose135will treat us to some of those great photos ...
  3. All players have reported in so it's time to announce the Clear And Far Away Most Obvious Winner of Week 32 ... *drum roll turkey roll tootsie roll and forward roll* ... and the person who ROCKED Final Jeopardy's Week 32 is none other than the brilliant player more commonly known as@Grundoon59. Grundoon59 not only ruled this week with the top score of 5 plus 2, this is Grundoon's THIRD week in a row of perfect fives. And if it weren't for that rotten Week 29 sneaking in there, this would be Grundoon's FOURTH straight week of perfection. So Grundoon59, here is a trophy sculpted in your likeness as you ROCK the FJ Contest. May we all strive to be more like you. (Donations to buy Grundoon some new clothes are welcome.)
  4. As Contest Supreme Ruler, I'm calling it a win. The comma tells me you had a brain skip and a stutter, then started over to complete your answer. 2/5* for you this week Your Majesty.
  5. I will pack some extra peanut-butter sandwiches for you to share at our table. This made me laugh. So thanks.
  6. "I have somehow never heard "milk of human kindness" in my life" It might be a Before Your Time thing since it was common knowledge to my common (and old) brain.
  7. Well, crumb bums. So much for my long- and short-term memory since you posted about that recently. I have to stay with Chinstraps for the Greenpeace win now though. *sigh*
  8. Darn, my voodoo curse has worn off. Meanwhile @Browncoat, I just got this email from Greenpeace: "Here's something great: today, April 25, is World Penguin Day! Around the world penguin lovers (like all of us at Greenpeace) are thinking about these little fellows down at the southern end of our planet. To celebrate, we're asking Greenpeacers like you: which is your favorite penguin? Click on the picture to choose your top penguin for 2021!" I voted Chinstrap for you, Browncoat. (And you, Opus.)
  9. I had seen the Brie Larson episode first time around, but the three alien-abducted women sketch made me LOL since I've owned two Scottish Terriers. It was a great mental visual. And at least I know who Alicia Keys is. Most SNL musical guests are out of my knowledge base.
  10. HOLY CR*P! It's that damned poltergeist that lives with me, I swear I didn't do that on purpose. (Heh heh, maybe I did.) BOO! I'm back Opus!
  11. I just checked both theme views. I post in shows found in Other Competitive Reality & Game Shows, it's a second page to the Competitive R&G Shows. The head-and-shoulders icon is still there in the Light view for shows I post in, and a star is used in the IPS theme for shows I frequent. These aren't used on the main page (I don't remember them ever being there) but they are still on the "Other" supplemental pages. All of those shows just have one thread. Shows with multi threads like Jeopardy, I can see the "posted in" icons on the separate threads in both views. At least on my computer/browser! YMMV!
  12. I did the averages for you, 4 for both seasons. *wink wink*
  13. I had to look up Wednesday's clue after thinking, "There was a planet FJ? How did I miss that?"
  14. I'll be eating a peanut-butter sandwich at the T40. I'll bring one for you @opus
  15. I forgot about that "You have posted" icon. It was in the Light Default view and was handy when scrolling down a list. There is no room for one in the IPS view, which I switched to as shows no longer have their own line, some are three or four per row. But now it's gone in the Light Default view too, I switched back to check. So yeah, I consider that a downgrade, not an improvement.
  16. I no longer get the icons for anything. The notification bell lcon only reveals two at a time so I opened the notifications list, shown below. As you can see, all of the notify icons are the same, I have to read through to see which are quotes. And the rest are just "reacted to," no likes, laughs, sad or anything. I'd have to look at each individual post of mine to see what each response was. As far as I know, everyone might have posted a "BARF" reaction. This is a downgrade IMO..
  17. I don't get notifications individually, they are collected in the bell icon at the top of the page. I look in the bell icon when a number appears at the top of it, which tells me how many people have responded to a post. Reading here, it was my impression people were getting individual notifications each time one of their posts got a reaction. I used to have an email account set that way, a "ding" would sound and a pop-up window appeared every time a new email came in, regardless of what software I was working in. I "ass"umed that was the type of notifications being discussed here. No, I don't want that. I do want to keep the numbers appearing above the bell icon, then I know to open/read the notifications. That's how it's always been for me. I do like to read posts that have quoted, to see if someone does/does not agree. My gripe is now I have to actually READ the notification to find out what each one is instead of seeing an icon for quote, like, surprise, sad and so forth. That type of response is also gone, notification are for either quotes or responded to. I do NOT like that change. Long story but I'm sticking to it.
  18. Speaking of notifications, there used to be an icon for someone quoted you and someone liked you. Now I have to read a sentence to see if it's a "reacted to" or "quoted you." I only look at the quoted ones so am not fond of having to actually spend a couple seconds reading through all the notifications. I don't ask to be notified, i just open the bell icon at the top of the page when it has some numbers on it. I keep the PTimer page open in my web browser and look at it when I'm avoiding work. Like now.
  19. German dentist got me to Marathon Man, which was definitely after the Civil War. Cold Mountain got me to Civil War time but no German dentist and no title character. I like Tarantino and Waltz and would have seen the flick for them, I just don't like Jamie Foxx so I saved myself the long trip to the nearest theater. Long story short: I had nuttin'.
  20. I can PM your scores from Seasons 35 and 36 if you want to do the math.
  21. And this after last week, when according to the EMT Red saved the cop lady's life by applying Anne's scarf to the cop's GSW in the leg.
  22. My line in the contest score sheet looks like I'm a computer talking in binary.
