I don't see Dabb killing off his favorite characters. Jody is a possibility though. Dabb said that he found a way to incorporated them organically. If Jody is killed they would want revenge against Michael.

Discussion time, Since the show loves angst will Michael kill one of Dean's loved ones and if so who? I'd like to it to be Mary.

Supernatural Bitterness & Unpopular Opinions: You All Suck
ILoveReading replied to mstaken's topic in Supernatural
My interpretation has always been that Michael wiped Dean's visits but not the original deal. Because Mary recongnized the YED instantly, and during home she apologized to Sam. That suggests she remembered what she did. Even if she didn't remember the deal, it clearly showed that Mary was still hunting, so when lights started flickering she should have been a little bit suspicious. Either way she stuck in her head in the sand. I still beleive that had she not been killed, she would have gotten bored of the whole wife/mother thing and left anyway. It's my head canon that the reason John left is he caught Mary lying about where she'd been. -

I said this leader Sam stuff was being done for a reason. Michael will take one look at him and be so super duper impressed he'll want him to be the supreme leader of the entire universe. Basically the finale will be Swan Song all over again. Dean will be lucky if he gets represetnted by a piece of plastic this time. -
It could also mean that Michael has a purpose in mind for Sam.

IIRC, Dabb said there was more to the Sam leadership stuff he couldn't talk about. So I'm guessing Michael either wants Sam as his new vessel or he wants Sam to lead his army and is going to try and recruit him. Dean will get to feel more guilt and have to learn that Sam is adult and to let go again. This is the feeling I got from comic con. -
Why would Michal have lots of interaction with Sam? Does Michael want him for something?

What would Michael want with Sam? It sounds like this story is going to end up more Sam focused than Dean focused. -

Ask a question about Dean...get a response about Sam. lol. Typical for this crew. I would have liked some clues about that "off on a little bit of their own story." -
Again Why? Dean's sad smile. Jensen is usually consistent with these things. I've often felt this way. I read another meta on tumblr that detailed the shift of the show from horror to fantasy and how Dean doesn't really fit into this show anymore because his character still sees hunting as cold and dark and not a magical quest.

I worded it the way I did because its how I feel and to me it is a fact. People can agree/disagree with facts. No where in my post did I say someone couldn't have a different opinion or make it impossible to disagree. As far as I know my original post was within the board rules. So I'm not really sure what your getting at here. But this isn't a place to discuss this, so we'll agree to disagree and move on. -

I believe it was the same thing with Demon Dean. Yes, that wasn't Dabb but Jensen said no on really gave him direction over the character and let it up to him to decide how he wanted to play it. It's great that the writers have faith in Jensen but at the same times, Demon Dean didn't really impact the story that much. It's not exactly enouraging that the show runner has no real clear direction on how Jensen should steer the character. Because if you need him to act a certain way for plot reasons that that would have to be spelled out. That doesn't sound like what is happening here. I still think this story is more about establishing Sam as the new leader and Dean needed to be out of the way for that to happen. -
Horror movie icons: Jason Freddy Michael Are the big 3. All 3 could really fit. If they want to make a Friday the 13th reference since Jared was in that they might have Friday the 13 be Dean's favorite movie. Or they could use Freddy to make a Dr. Robert reference and Michael could be used to bring up unpleasant memories for Dean with the name and its supposed to be a Halloween themed episodes so I would probably have Michael as the front runner. As for Mint Conditions that could apply to cars, but I don't see Dean loving a movie about a car being possessed and the guy having to destroy it. That would be more of a nightmare for Dean. It also applies to comic books, and they were filming in a comic book store. Or and my guess is that it applies to Dean. Back "good as new" after the Michael possession.

I watched that interview several times because I like Jensen talking about his craft. He specifically says there was a fight scene written. Therefore that to me is fact that a hand to hand fight was in the script. Jensen called Dabb and said "Michael wouldn't get his hands dirty." Dabb is writing an storyline about the planet's most powerful arch angel who is supposed to be even more powerful and imposing because he has his true vessel. IMO, it is fact that the actor shouldn't have to call the show runner and say, "wouldn't/shouldn't he use his powers here." It should have occurred to Dabb without gentle reminders, firm reminders, collaboration or anything. I'm sure Pellegrino didn't have to call the writer of his episode to clear direction when he wiped bunch of angels with the snap of his fingers. So I feel comfortable stating that Jensen had to remind him. Because of these reasons. Clearly the feedback didn't really clear much up for him. Because he was still at a lose in episode 2 as to how he should play the character. That says several things to me. IIRC, he mentioned at the con last week he's still not sure how to approach the character. So, whoever gave him advice after ep 1 was lacking. 1. There wasn't enough Michael in episode 1 for him to really get a feel for the character. (likely as he didn't seem to film much based on sightings of him in Austin) 2. The scenes he did film didn't provide a clear direction as to Michael's motivations. 3. Something in episode 2 contradicted something in episode 1 on the advice Jensen got about where to take the character. Or with this crew, I'd put money on all 3. As for Dabb having no interest, again, a conclusion based on things I've heard. He talks more about the Waywards than he does Michael, Jensen not even sure how to approach the character. The character gone before he even really has a chance to get started. I heard contradictory things about the length of time Dean is missing from a couple of weeks to a couple of months. Ross-Lemming said we wouldn't see the car the first half of the season but its clearly back in episode 3. If they can't get on the same page with even those small basic things, it doesn't suggest they put a lot of thought or effort into the rest of the story. Unless the board rule changed we are not required to conclusively provide proof. I feel I made a strong argument for my conclusions and didn't just pull them out of thin air. -
I actually got worse. There were several 'can you say hi to insert name here. I liked Jensen's response to someone asking them to say hi to "my friend summer for me please. Jensen- "Hi Summer, Formeplease." Fan: Here name is Summer (I forget what she said) Jensen: You don't know her name? Did it change? Did she get married?" Lol. The sass was on point yesterday. Or the question Captain Picard or Captain Kirk, Jensen- Captain America. Two people were like, I don't really watch the show, but my (other person here) does. So why are they in the question line? I can't blame the 2nd person for asking for a selfie when the first person got one. The person who asked the last question ended up getting a J2 photo. (although to be fair she didn't ask, as far as I know.).

This x1000. With the amount of times Bobby called Dean out on not letting Sam make his own decisions he was a massive hypocrite here. It's frustrating that this is something the show continues to do. The Raid is another example. Dean has to learn his mom is an adult yet the episode ends Sam clearly intends on not recognizing Dean's autonomy. Sam gets rewarded for it in the end. Another thing that bothered me is that Dean is clearly hurt and and Bobby is like, "well I did it for your own good because its the closes to happiess I've seen a hunter get" (or whatever he said). Who cares if hunters are happy. The only question that should have mattered to Bobby- Was Dean happy? Clearly, no. He was going through the motions. What would have happened if Dean snapped and poked at the cage and Lucifer ended up being released? Would Bobby have accepted any responsibility/ Then when Sam decided he wanted Dean back, Bobby suddenly, "we don't get normal lives, go with your brother." When Dean suspected something was wrong with Sam, Bobby's like, "shut up and get in the car." There was the "your not a person speech" vs "Sam stop worrying about Dean and live your own life speech. The only way Bobby was a father figure was that was no better than John and saw Deans' worth in what he could/couldn't do for Sam. They basically turned him into John 2.0 I was glad when they killed off the character but he just won't go away. Not looking forward to AU Bobby being back for multiple episodes.

Jensen mentioned that he called Dabb and Dabb was basically like "you got this." But then again Jensen had to remind Dabb that Michael had powers. So that speaks volumes about how much thought Dabb put into this storyline- none. -
I'd skip watching the afternoon panel. It was mostly, selfie requests, can you say hi, what is your favorite Sam hair season, and personal stories. I posted a spoiler in the spoiler thread. Also Jensen asked Richard for advice on how to approach Michael's character, and he said Richard really helped him out. Those are about the two interesting things that came out of it.

They filmed an episode that deals with Dean's favorite horror movie. Sam had a beard for a hot minute. Jared's favorite Sam hair season is s14, ep 1,2,3. (I'm guessing he was referring to the beard. More proof Dean is back.
