These Spoilers Suck: Bitter Speculation About SPN Spoilers
ILoveReading replied to catrox14's topic in Supernatural
Based on what Jensen said last weekend about how Dean's PTSD hasn't been addressed or written into scripts I'm thinking that picture of Dean's messy room is more of the messy slob Perez thinks Dean is rather than related to his Michael trauma. -
There was another spoiler with a quote from Dabb that talked about Jody returning. It said that Sam and Dean end up on the same hunt as Jody. It's a wayward sisters ep about Kaia, since she's in the episode as well. I think they worded it that way to try and make it look like Dean's not rescued after two episodes.

That would fit with Sam saying he would do anything for Dean. Maybe he's planning to say yes to Lucifer. Because I don't think Lucifer is dead. Not a chance. I tried to keep hope alive that maybe Michael doesn't actually leave Dean and or he gives Dean control back and hides for...reasons, but the way Jensen talked about Michael this last weekend, I didn't get that impression. I think 2 episodes and 2 or 3 episodes of flashback is it. The thing I dislike most about Michael being in MP is that it will probably make the aftermath of the trauma more about Sam's connection since he looks like Lucifer. At least they should have brought Christian back.

Then why all off a sudden to the writers feel a constant need to mention it in regards to Sam. Why are the writers so allergic to actually highlighting this as a strength of Dean's. Why is there this sudden need to push this characteristic onto Sam and act like it should have been his all along, that Dean somehow prevented him from taking his rightful place. Why is it all off a sudden that act like Dean being in the lead was just another example of him being bossy and holding Sam back? Why is there a need to strip yet another thing from Dean and give it to Sam. This is my issue

Sneak Peek. Sounds like Sam is losing faith already.
-
I think its more about trying not to make it obvious. There was another quote from Dabb that said Dean was hunting with Sam.
-
This is my problem too. I dont' think many would argue that Dean has been the leader of Team Free Will pretty much since the beginning but it was never mentioned in context with storylines or as a positive trait that Dean possessed. But not that its become a major thing suddenly is Sam, Sam, Sam, and Sam some more with the writers acting like it was Dean holding Sam back from this right place. It's irritating that the writers can't even let Dean keep this one positive trait. It's comes across as forced for this very reason.

Its sad that the one thing Jensen asked for, to play the character long enough to develop him, they couldn't even give him that. -
That's because he didn't. When Sam is trying to save Dean he's usually given a proactive role, like with the demon blood, working with Ruby, the whole Lester thing, the book of the damned stuff, etc. With Dean its strictly reactive. he's there as the wind beneath Sam's wings and he is literally reduced to bathing and feeding Sam. IMO, those two things don't' compare. The Lucifer stuff was also connected to Sam having visions. It was a major part of the first half of the season. While if Dean locked himself away after episode 2 becasue he was worried about Amara's influence and he only released himself in episode 22 nothing about that story line would really change because Amara was pretty much Dean who after episode 9. Even episode 9 was just a repeat of the first scene we saw with her. That storyline was never developed. I still don't know what Amara was connected to Dean. Then they threw he whole mark of cain mythology out the window to justify Sam heroically taking it on. Apparently, being worthy to carry it just means you never had it before. Deans' big moment with Amara was shared with a lady with a pigeon, and the very next season suddenly it was the power of God. It was the same with s12 and 13. If Dean decided he wanted space too after Mary left and he came back when Sam put out the call for the hunters the season, other than the episode Regarding Dean would require no major rewrites. Same with ep 13. If Dean took a break after Cas and came back after in episode 22 to help go rescue Mary no major rewrites, would be required. I disagree that Sam taking the lead was one ep. Because I find most MOTW episodes have Sam predominately in Dean's old role. He finds the majority of the cases, does the majority of the research, comes up with most of the plan, interviews most of the guest starts, makes the motivational speeches and gets quiet a few of the kills. While Dean gets comic relief. (Scorpion and the Frog is a big example of this). The alpha vampire, the alpha hell hound are two big examples. They even created a Cain/yellow eyed Demon hybrid just so Sam could kill him, and with Michael's lance no less. While Dean's connection to the all of these things was ignored. Dean's experience with hell hounds was the only thing left out of the previouslies. Twice that season Dean disappeared for the entire 3rd act and he was sent wonder in the woods while Sam got to kill the hell hound. Sam might not have gotten the death blow in with Lucifer but he got the major assist while Dean got his ass handed to him in a marionette fight, despite Michael being in his true vessel. Sam played a major role in Jack's early development while Dean's grief was ignored and shamed. Then Sam got a grief arc that was given more attention and support than Dean's ever got. Dean leading the charge to save Mary was about Sam's traumas. Not to mention, while Dean was talking about how much Sam suffered and was tortured we get a juxtaposition of scenes of a grown up Sam successfully leading the charge against the Brits while Dean gets to talk about how he failed Sam. I dont' see that as just a coincidence. So I don't agree Sam never had a story line. Even is Dean had one, he wasn't really a part of it.

Synopsis for ep 3

Looking at the promo again, I think that's Mark P on the bed. It looks a lot like him. I'm guessing that's Nick and that is where they'll put Michael once he's expelled from Dean.
-
I think the person in the white shirt is Jack. We know we are getting lots of limp/woobie/sad Jack. It looks more like Alex than Jensen. Or it might be the surprise character. Apparently there is one in the premier. That looks a lot like Sam coming in the room. Maybe Sam makes a deal and says yes to cage Michael and its Adam. I fully expect this at some point in the season. Because otherwise how do they get Michael out of Dean at the end episode 2. Sam, Mary and Bobby, shouldn't be able to take out an arch angel. If there is some spell that Sam says then that's extremely lame because it removes Michael as a threat. Because then why wouldn't' they use it all the time. Not to mention its pure laziness to just get from point A to point B. The only way for Sam to get the better of Michael would be if he was also possessed by an arch angel. Which is just what these writers would do.

Making Dean's trauma all about Sam is something these writers do, but I checked Jason's board and there are no scenes coded as flashbacks. -

Mark Pellegrino was spotted in Vancouver. Either Lucifer is back or Michael has a new vessel. Which means the story has just become about Sam and his trauma. -
I don't think they cut the scene of Dean speaking Arabic. I think they just showed that part of the clip because of time and to let the audience, who might not be familiar with the show know who the character was.

Based on little teases, promo pics, spoilers and complaints, I think I've pieced together what happens in the premier. It opens with the comic con clip, of Michael confronting the praying man. Then we get the title card and we see Sam returning to the bunker all tired out from searching for Dean. It's two or 3 weeks later. (Because using a tell rather than a show is pure laziness and these writers specialty.) Instead of letting poor little Sammy rest he's bombard by AU hunters wanting to know what a traffic light is and how do they flush the toilet. (This isn't spoiler, just spec on my part). Based on Sam Smith saying Mary and Sam get a chance to bond, Mary will tell Sam to rest. Cas will have a few scenes with Jack and this is where Cas will have his revelation that he really is loved, because apparently only chats with the antichrist can make this real for Cas, not Dean saying and demonstrating it over and over. Cas will run off. He meets with a demon and tries to make some kind of Dean. He gets in over his head and is captured and beat up. This will be about the half way point. Coming back after commercial break we'll get the scene with Michael and Anael. Exposition, Exposition, Exposition. Because Michael is supposed to be a bad ass arch angel I'm sure Anael will be majorly sassy to him and Michael will be impressed rather than killing her. Monologuing Demon scene about how dumb Cas is and how predictable the Winchester are. Just long enough for Sam and the AU hunters to ride to Cas's rescue. Major Sam speechifying and rescusing Cas. End scene. Sam and Cas wondering if its hopeless because ultimately they don't have faith that Dean will fight. Mary saying they have to keep hope alive. -

This is why I'd rather they go a different route for the 300th. I don't want an episode where we see the people of Sam and Dean's home town show us their impressions. Written by Dabb, directed by Singer I expect it will super polite, smart helpful Sam assisting little old ladies across the street while Dean will be viewed as the town drunk who lears at college girls. -

I'll never buy Sam as a leader. He's a follower and he always has been. He happily trot off after anyone who tells him what he wants to hear, flatters him or dangles something shiny in his face. They are even using a lot of the same wording they did in season 6 and talking about how Sam is going to take on Dean's role. But I highly doubt Dean will return to that role when everything is all said and done. I predict this too. I expect some sort of spell will get rid of Michael, Given what we learned this weekend that the writers haven't addressed Dean's PTSD (Dean is shoving it down, is code for "its not in any scripts). I'm thinking that BTS pic we saw of Dean's messy room is just going to be more of Perez viewing Dean as a slob rather than being related to Deans' story. Yes, I'm extremely bitter at the moment. -

Kim and Briana were tweeting about something regarding wayward but didn't say what it was. Maybe they were hoping to write another back door pilot to try and push the spin off again. They would need Dean around to pimp out the characters and tell them how great they are. -
It's like the producers are afraid of Jensen's talent. Of what might happen if they truly let him off the chain. That he might competely over shadow they're pets. He does that anyway, so its like they deliberately try and push Dean into the shadows. I think its petty egos and behind the scenes issues myself. I mean its Dark Angel all over again with the writing for Dean these last two seasons. Sometimes I wish Jensen was a bit more of a diva but then he wouldn't' be the Jensen I admire so much.
