There was also the comment about how Sam should have been a leader all along but Dean was holding him back. That shows Dabb never thought Dean was leader in the first place. It was that comment that told me he meant Dean needed to be off screen for the leader Sam stuff to work because of Jensen's screen presence. Now, I wish the show did end this year. By the end of next year there will be nothing of Dean left.

There is no one better for the part.

Just once Id like to see one of his family members stick up for him. When he degrades himself, I want them to tell him to stop. Mary's only response here should be "you're not." Instead she smiles like she agrees. I know your love her Dean, but your better off without her. Its not like she was ever there for you. If she's gone you can stop insulting yourself on her behalf.

Im sure the trauma antibodies will kick in and he'll be back to eating sandwiches and wanting to take naps in no time.

I don't care what the reason for it. I'm tried of it. Because the writers tend to use Dean in these situations.

When I said it feels like he was hinting at something I was referring to his "next year we go big," part of his post. The first part was an observation. He thanked the cast and crew. There was no mention of the writers. I was simply pointing that out.

It would be an interesting twist if this whole time while everyone was worried about Jack going darkside the real threat was Dean because Michael did something to him...but then I remember Dabb and "not being idle" obviously just means Michael didn't stop banging on the door.

I noticed he only thanked the crew. Not the writers. It also feels like he's hinting at something.

If they did a reset, Mine would be that Dean died in his confrontation with Amara and this is version of The Empty. Dean's live has been pretty empty since then. Mary comes back and rejects him. Then his mother and brother chose the Brits over him, he loses a lot abilites, his best friend seems to care more about Lucifer's kid then him. Its the only thing that makes sense for me.

Well, mommy has to point out something's wrong with Jack so your probably not wrong. I would also bet money on injured/limp/sick Sam saving the day. This ep would be so much better if it was about Michael playing games in Dean's head. I guess "not being idle" really did just mean pounding on the door.

they can't keep they're own canon straight, there is no way they would remember that Lucifer only went bad becasue of the Mark of Cain.

If our spec is correct he might do it next year. He still has a year to film and 24 episodes is enough to completely wipe out Dean as a character and his history. As it stands now Dean doesn't really have a legacy on the show. Saving people, hunting things has been mocked and belittled to the point it no longer an iconic line. Plus, Dean doesn't seem to want to hunt anymore. Sam finds all the cases and does all the leg work. Because of the whole Leader Sam stuff its Sam whose inspiring the next generation of hunters. The kill of the yellow eyed demon and Cain was cheapened by them creating a yellow eyed demon/cain hybrid for Sam to kill. (and with Michael's lance). He played no part in ending Michael, and Im pretty sure Lucifer is coming back. (Not spoiler) So saying yes was pointless. They gave his kill of Zacheriah to Sam. Amara was softened up by the pidgeon lady. Eve, but killing her didn't really make a difference since monsters are still out in full force. So what exactly will Dean's legacy be? Probably learning to let Sam grow up and recognize that he's a big boy becuase that storyline has only been done multiple times.

This is a fan fic I read once. Dean was the only one that survived the fire and he was actually in a mental hospital and made this all up to cope. The "this is a dream or this is a vision" is by biggest DNW because it cheapens everything Sam and Dean have been through to say it didn't happen.

Yup. Dean's always had great instincts, its one of his core characteristics. He wouldn't need mommy rushing in to telll him. He went through this exact same thing with Sam. He would know the signs. Hell, Sam himself should see the signs since he went though it. ETA: Im guessing it is Dean getting lectured since we know he was the one that filmed with Sam Smith.

So basically the rest of this season will be about Jack's identity crisis. Which I don't care about since they did this last year and they'll never have the nerve to anger the the "i love everything about my sweet precious cinnamon roll jack" crowd so I doubt he'll be anything but off white for 20 minutes. The brother (who I'm guessing will just be Dean) brush off concerns? Since when? Just so Mary can rush in and show motherly concern? Talk about dumbing down the boys (again probably just Dean)for Snowflake Sue. One again Mary rushes to the aid on anyone but her actual sons. This ep just sounds bad.

Since death has become such a joke on this show, it really doesn't' matter how they end things this year or next year. If they want to do a movie at some point in the future they will just resurrect whoever or whatever needs resurrecting for....reasons. That is how things work on this show. I don't see it changing. I'd rather they just let it go. No movies or limited series because I still see the present writing team helming it. Even if they didn't, then they'd be brought in for consulting.

I always wondered how Yockey got Nihilism past Dabb. So now I'm wondering if the conversations about it being the last year started shortly after episode 2 when Dabb dumped the Michael story. Then When Dabb heard the rumblings they came up with Nihilism but by this time Jensen had no faith left. Because his comments about Michael at the 300th didnt really make sense. Unless festering was just code for "not happening on screen" If it was Jensen who started the discussion, suddenly Sam's words at the end of that trash ep make sense. "How can you quit on us." It kind of sounds like a loaded statement.

There was an interview that Jensen did at comic con where he was asked if and Jensen have the conversation every year about whether, this is it and if they can continue. Jensen was very appreciative the studio and their support saying they're lucky to be able have this coversation and there was never a finality to them. That was at the start of s14, where Jensen was really excited about the possibility of the Michael Dean storyline. For them to actually discuss whether to end this year, I wonder what changed so abruptly since that is a complete one 180 as to what Jensen was saying earlier this season. They always said the quality would be a big factor in their decision. It makes me wonder if neither Jensen nor Jared were happy with direction the season took.

I also wondered if how expendable Dabb made Dean this season also played a part. We didn't even see Dean in the first ep. That had to tick Jensen off because now Sam is the only character to appear in every ep. Also it was clear he wasn't needed in the bunker because nothing changed after he got back and it ran like a well oiled machine when he was gone. I also saw a tweet, that before the season started Dabb and Jared had a sit down dinner. (Take with a grain of salt, not sure of source) but if true that is the ultimate form of disrespect because he blew Jensen off.

There really is no difference between real Mary and a mannequin. ETA: I take that back, a mannequin is probably warmer.

Someone asked Jared and and Jensen at a con once if they would continue after the show. Their answer was yes but probably not as many. With Canadian conversion a J2M op costs more than my rent. So yes, creation will milk as these cons as long as they can and I can only see them getting more expensive.
