  1. I remember Jensen talking about this at a con. He said its just part of the character. So I doubt it will ever be addressed or really brought up.
  2. I think the drinking is just Dean being Dean. Dean has been carrying it on and off since season 2. Even in s7 it was just dropped after a time. So I really don't think it means anything.
  3. There aren't enough Mondays from March 16 until May. There will be 10 Mondays and 12 episodes. They'd either have to double up two weeks or cut the episode order to fit it all in.
  4. From the Atomic Monsters thread: @PAForrest They are treating Mary like she was nothing more than one of Sam's nameless, faceless flunkies. I think Sam was more upset over Maggie. Sam was actually closer to Mary than Dean was. (I use that term loosely because Mary really only cared about herself.) Nothing about the character dynamics make sense . I mean Sam said if they win they would be free and now they won, he doesn't feel free. Its like in s13 when he every thing he believed came true and suddenly Sam went into a depression. Its the writers can't think of any other way to showcase the brother bond other than mopey, whiny, depressed Sam and Dean fussing over him. Dean has plenty of reasons to be mad at Cas but they are choosing to have Dean focus on the one thing that Cas isn't responsible for. Why is Cas suddenly saying the Winchester never cared about him. Did Jack erase all his memories when he brainwashed him? But Jack is back on top of his pedestal, like he did nothing wrong. Dean went from "we were screwed to we are free" pretty much over night. And Sam is suddenly "we're not" Both Sam and Cas seemed to have forgotten that everyone they lost Dean lost too. Its like the writers have no clue what to do with any character other than Jack, and they're just using them to fill whatever role their episode needs. They certainly don't talk to each other.
  5. I'm not sure how I felt about this one. The good: Jensen's directing. It was his strongest outing yet. That opening scene could have been straight out of any big budget action movie and Jensen could be an action star. Watching the stunt on screen that we saw him working on with Rob Hayter was just all kinds of hot. Seeing Benny again. Love that Jensen made the effort to get him and that Ty agreed to do it. Love that Benny is still loyal to the end and that he was always there for Dean. That there was no mention of Cas. I didn't not want to see Dean all mopey and weepy because Cas left. He chose to walk away. That Dean, for now seems to want to keep saving people, hunting things. Jensen's acting was always top notch. The Bad: Deans' drinking probably won't be addressed. It was just Dean being Dean. That the show is setting up Sam needs to himself/purpose veriosn 59308 The hunt itself felt mostly like Dean hanging back while Sam did everything. The BM. So much for Sam "believing in Us" He says all the right words and issues the right platititudes but I don't get much an impression he really believes in Dean. The case itself. @Bergamot summed up my problem with it better than I ever could. The show sweeping Mary's death under the rug for both Sam and Dean to put Jack back on his pedestal. If the ep wanted to draw parallels they could have had Sam and Dean reference the things they did for each other. So I not sure if I liked this or not. The Ugly Dean mostly just being the wind beneath Sams' wings. That the purpose of bring back past characters just to kill them off/screw them over. It seems to be the norm for this season.
  6. I wish this but I doubt it based on Jensen's answer about Deans' storyline from the last con. Jensen, IMO, would be excited about playing Michael again or a continuation of the Michael storyline. He's not talking about it. Just Dean being the wind beneath Sams' wings.
  7. This entire interview leaves me bitter. In particlular. So Dean really just just the wind beneath Sam's wings this season. Since it was Chuck controlling everything it looks like Sam will find his own path but Dean won't. Dean is more than an extension of Sam Sounds like Jensen disliked the proposed ending even more than he let on. I really hope this is just part of the one off episode Jensen mentioned otherwise every thing the Winchesters have done was written by Chuck. I have no desire to watch the Winchesters be bumbling idiots and Dabb literally wiping out the entire history of the show.
  8. With the mid-season finale as episode 8, that would mean there wasn't enough Mondays, it would only get us up to episode 18.
  9. I haven't watched the episode yet so I'm going by what I've read, but my feeling is that Sam's' visions are Chuck's drafts and Sam's connection to Chuck allowing him to see them. So he's constantly seeing an ending in which he kills Dean. Since they can' end with the Winchesters being puppets, my guess is they will flip that scenario in the finale. They've teased Dean killing Sam for years this time Dean will do it. I feel like there is foreshadowing for it based on Sam's mental state. IMO, this would fit with Jared loving it and Jensen being hesitant.
  10. I don't think its Becky because Jensen specifically says "he", Plus he described the character as one of his favorite characters ever. I don't see Becky fitting that description. I think Becky is in episode 6. Because the description says the come across an old friend.
  11. I figured it was a vision because of the red lighting. It was the same. But if we get action Dean, I'll take it.
  12. I find it telling that Jensen decided this episode needed more action and then he wrote his own and made it about himself. Sounds like he feels like a lot of Dean fans about being starved for action Dean lately.
  13. I thought the time of Seb being on set didn't match up with this ep since it was filmed first. Plus, Seb was filming another show at the time so its possible he was just visiting. I'm not sure Balthazar fits the description of "one of my favorite characters of all time." I'd go with Yellow Eyes, Cain, Alastair or Gordon. It might be Cain since there was that glimpse in the SPPT trailer of what looked like Dean with the Mark.
  14. Jensen wrote an action sequence for the script. His song Sounds of Someday will be in the episode He wants to come up with a story idea. Let him writers.
  15. Even Jensen noticed this. He said at JiB con that his solos were more intelligent and in depth than just him and "numbnuts" messing around. This is very similar to a Jensen meet and greet. This is the reason why I spend all my over time trying to get one. Imagine that when your in a small room with only 20 people. He's really animated, upbeat, passionate, and if your lucky enough to ask a question he will make eye contact with you like your the only person in the room. (I may or may not have spontaneously combusted. I'm not sure.). I agree. Jensen has always come across as a leader both on screen and off. I think this is mainly what using handcuffs was about. It was telling the crew, business as usual. I think it was for their benefit and not to minimize events. I also think telling the joke was designed to ease tension in the crowd and let them know it was okay to have fun. I'm sure this is a factor but I do think its more just just luck. His solos are JIB are very similar. I think being by himself plays a big factor. I can't speak for anyone else, but I know I always feel guilty when there are two people on stage and I only have a question for one I feel guilty. Like I'm leaving the other person out. So its possible the questions are more neutral because other fee the same way.
  16. Moving this here, becuase I think it fits better here. This is not meant to be from a 'jerk/bitch' POV but more of a direct comment on something Jensen said. Based on what we know of the season so far, if I ask myself what would change if character X wasn't in it and the answer is nothing, IMO, Character X doesn't have a story line. IMO, when asked point blank, Jensen answer was the PC version of No.
  17. Jensen said episode 9. Since ep 8 is the mid-season finale it will linger and fester over the 6 week hiatus.
  18. With regards to Jensen's words, I get the feeling that Jensen is very much the leader, both on set and off. People mostly look to him to set the tone. After the events of the weekend, I'm sure that things were very tense, awkward, and JP was probably embarrassed. (And he should be). But they still have a job to do, so my guess it was more about easing tension on set than making light of the event itself. People do often use humor to lighten a heavy mood, appropriate or not. I also think it was done to let people know that JP is coping. I'm not saying everyone agrees. But I don't think the intention was to make light of the events. TBH, i"ve seen more criticism of what Jensen has done/not done then I've seen of JP, who allegedly committed the assault.
