  1. Just to be sure I completely understand- Loki is literally holding the fabric of time and space together. like, “he’s got the whole world, in his hands” takes on a new meaning now…
  2. Tasha doesn’t have a hearing aid she has a cochlear implant and you can’t “switch it off”. You have to disconnect it and remove it. And then put it somewhere super safe bc , at least in America, they are are expensive. How is Matty still there? Every week for about the past three I’ve thought he was going home but he squeaks by.
  3. I think the reason you’re unsure how the crystallized the thyme and lemon is bc the one the showed the most was Matty’s and his was…. Not right. It looked like he had beaten his egg white into an almost meringue substance, stirred in the thyme, and was smearing it out on a tray. the egg white is a “glue”. You dip or coat the thyme in it, spread it out, heavily sprinkle with sugar, and put it somewhere to dry out. The egg makes the sugar stick and hardens up a bit when it dries. you could do the same with the lemon peel, but it looked like at least some were candying the peel. They placed the peel in melted sugar and let it dry/harden.
  4. Colin and the broken ox- my absolute favorite moment of reality tv ever. He was so completely unhinged. I have it on a t-shirt. “This is BS! My ox is BROKEN!” is absurd a statement as “Is this bc I’m a lesbian?” from Law and Order.
  5. Does anyone know the timing of the filming schedule and how it lines up with Majors’s arrest? Is it possible his death in this episode was a way to off a problematic actor and either rid themselves of the character or open a new way to reintroduce the character with a different actor?
  6. Rowans box looked like it got sat on. poor Tasha! I hope she’s better next week. as soon as Dana said she was going to leave some fruit in I yelled at the tv. That’s JAM! If it still has bits in it it is jam. I knew she’d get dinged for that. I was impressed with Dan! Quite a comeback from last week! I knew as soon as they said that the white chocolate had to be caramelized that was going to be a problem. There is SUCH a fine line between it being ready and being burned. I think my attitude would have been like Dana’s. That’s close enough. I’m done. I’ve burned too much chocolate.
  7. Yeah, I struggled with the “new guy”. I felt like he was being edited in a way that showed we were supposed to think he’s great and it so cool and nice of him to come back to play for such a low level team for such a small amount of money to “help them over the hump” and to break into the next league. But all I could think is how incredibly condescending and rude this was to the players who had been there all along. They’re doing pretty well without his help! it put a bad taste in my mouth.
  8. So, just tossing out an idea I’m mulling over- something I find interesting. Before pope Gregory revised the list, there were more deadly sins. He combined some he felt were similar or were aspects of the same thing. one of those “historical sins” was called Acedia. Acedia was a form of sloth, but not so much laziness, but more apathy and lack of caring “Acēdia is the negative form of the Greek term κηδεία (Kēdeia), which has a more restricted usage. 'Kēdeia' refers specifically to spousal love and respect for the dead.” That seems especially fitting. An apathy in spousal love? A lack of caring and respect for the dead (or nearly dead)? Maybe we should pull from an older list. There’s enough sins to go around….
  9. Specifically, he was jumping back and forth between thinking she was the one who was the informant and that she was having an affair with Perry. Or both.
  10. But I think that speaks to who Leo was. If we match each child to one of the seven deadly sins, he would be Sloth. Most of what we see him do is sit around his house and occasionally play a video game. There’s an inertia there. He has no agency bc he takes no action. He cheats on his boyfriend and does a ton of drugs. He lives an unexamined, privileged life and expects to continue doing so and receive all the benefits thereof while he does nothing. and I think that plays into why he seems “less evil” than his siblings. We don’t necessarily see him actively doing deliberate harm to others. Yes, people may be hurt if they find out about his actions. He probably isn’t super nice to service workers. But it feels easier to excuse that than say, someone sticking it in every hole he can find and then blackmailing the people after.
  11. So who do we think the informant is? The granddaughter maybe?
  12. Abbi was robbed. Rowen should’ve gone home. How adorable was the bread cow and his “hor-ins”?!
  13. Does anyone remember the show David the Gnome? I mean this in a completely complimentary way, but I think Abbi looks like she would fit in perfectly as a gnome wife. She is just adorable. yay Tasha!!
  14. 🎶Tonight, tonight.. we all find out tonight! which pickwick triplet’s gonna get its due? Tonight! Tonight! I just can’t wait, tonight! who shoved the cobro down the chute?!🎶
  15. I think that’s him! I’m gonna say it is bc otherwise my brain will keep flipping through my mental filing cabinet and I have other things I need it to do…
  16. Oh, something that could be fun to look for is to see if they are utilizing an assisted listening device for Tasha. ALDs would transmit sound directly to her implant for processing instead of it having to “pick it up”. It would come in very handy during time calls. They come in different forms but I’d look for one of the hosts to be wearing a neckloop with a long looking pendent in it or something that looks like a pen. I just think it’s really interesting to see what accommodations they have put into place and I think it’s a good thing for those who don’t realize what accommodations might even be needed (just bc it’s not something they have ever had to think about) to see challenges they might not have thought of and how we can meet those to insure everyone has what they need to succeed.
  17. Tasha has a cochlear implant which is very different from a hearing aid. The interpreter is always present, even if just out of shot. You can see her focus shift back and forth even when you can’t see him. reading lips is very very difficult and not like it’s shown in movies and tv. People don’t enunciate and lip shape is only a small portion of making a phonate. Even very talented lip readers don’t get every word. They tend to “fill in the blanks” based on context and assumption.
  18. No, that’s not it. Someone I vaguely remember from I think a movie. I feel like he was wearing long basketball shorts and a jersey over a t-shirt. Maybe purple and gold colors ? Isn’t that the lakers? also not Tyler Perry or Forest or Aaron Neville. Wendell is closest but I don’t think it’s him bc 1) I haven’t seen a ton of stuff he’s been in and 2) his characters tend to be well dressed/pulled together. my mental image of the actor is of him in very casual clothes. (See above) BSL does use more 2 handed signs than ASL. But just like spoken language, people develop their own slang/shortcuts for words. Like how Tasha explained her sign for Paul Hollywood and morphed into the sign for parrot bc pollywood-Polly-Polly want a cracker-parrot.
  19. ASL stand for American Sign Language. Most countries have their own sign language. AusLan is the Australia one. while a few may share some signs, each should be treated as a separate language. Just bc you can speak ASL, it doesn’t mean you will be able to understand someone someone speaking BSL. Tasha’s cochlear implant probably has played a big part in how clear her speech is. But, not everyone gets the same level of benefit from a cochlear device- it’s not at all “one size fits all” and there are a variety of strong feelings about them within the deaf community. I don’t want to make any assumptions about Tasha’s level of hearing but my guess is that she is aware when she is spoken to and can make out a percentage of the words and make out even more if she’s looking at the person and they are enunciating carefully. The interpreter makes sure she isn’t missing any details and becomes aware of all she needs to hear while in a noisy kitchen with lots of ambient noise to filter through. sign may very well be her first language. In any case being bilingual helps her insure she is understood and allows her to communicate more efficiently and with more of the people she serves at her job. also, does anyone know the name of the American Actor Amos reminded me of?
  20. YES!!! I was RIGHT about the cookie,I WAS RIGHT about the mirror writing, and I was RIGHT about the producer being “who done it” for the producers type reasons!! And I guessed that part way back when the first 2 episodes aired!!! I am feeling very smart right now. okay, but Donna totally didn’t push him down the elevator shaft. I still think it was some sort of accident type thing. Even that Ben was arguing with someone and stepped backwards expecting the elevator to be there as he shot off his final quip. But it wasn’t. And he had a Rosalind Shays moment. I do think Donna may be sick and that’s why she feels so much pressure to get Cliff’s show off on the right foot and get him a start. She won’t be there much longer to clean up his messes and be the known power behind him. He has to get his own star producer power before she’s gone if he’s going to succeed.
  21. Even if it was pretty obvious, I’m so happy I called it correctly that Loretta was Dickie’s mom. my very first guess, after episode one, was that it was the producers. I still think so, though I’m leaning towards the mom specifically. let’s say there are twin Bens. Mom producer realizes he’s gonna tank her baby’s first show. He will look ridiculous and she can’t have that. She kills Ben one. Ben two and maybe Dickie scramble to figure out what next and eventually sub Ben two. Mom producer freaks out and confronts him. He grabs for her but looses his grip and falls to his death? Or she pushes him. If she does have cancer she may figure that she will be dead before a trial can be completed. if there’s only one Ben, maybe the drug cocktail he was on somehow protected him from the first death by poisoning. ben was talking to the plate of cookies in his dressing room and he wrote the mirror message to himself.
  22. Theo!!! I’m so glad you’re back! 1) bc I like Theo and 2) diversity on screen! I am now even more certain in my theory that Dickie is Loretta’s son. and im still clinging to the multiple Ben’s theory. I mean, if you can’t have kids and you try some sort of infertility treatment, your chances of multiples do go up…
  23. I love (most) Hitchcock movies and that whole “suspense” genre so I loved this one. Especially all the nods to Hitch in styling. edit bc the I and o keys are close together and my fingers are fat.
  24. Well, if Dickie is Loretta’s son like I feel the last episode implied, I could see him being the murderer. Ben’s treatment of her could have set him off, especially if he had just learned of their connection and were reunited. He snapped.
  25. I want to like this. I really do. But I’ve never watched any of the animated series and I feel like you need a pretty solid understanding of ALL of them in order to follow this. I’ve read some of the novels (including the series on Thrawn ) but stopped when Lucas basically said none of it “counted” any more. (He honestly killed some/a lot of my passion for the universe with that. It felt like all the time and effort I had invested in reading the expanded universe novels was worthless) I find it hard to care a lot about these characters bc there’s so many that I don’t know who they even are or how they fit and the few I am familiar with I only know the most basic info about not the extensive minutia I seem to need. I feel like the writers are expecting me to recognize every single character, no matter how minor, introduced and get all these levels of nuance bc of that knowledge and it’s not happening for me. it’s just a lot of work to be put in in order to be entertained for less than an hour a week. Maybe this show just isn’t for me. I love the space whales even if the make me sad bc things never seem to go well for space whales. (See: hitchhikers guide, Dr. Who, etc)
