  1. I have watched a few so far and they have been the same- What is happening? Though one reactor did point out the Strickland pulled a reverse Jon Snow with his death. Instead of standing to face the charge of the cavalry he ran. Same director for BOTB so it makes sense for the callback.
  2. I have been neutral to Dany so I am OK with is outcome but it did happen pretty fast for me. I liked the notes that were hit but it would have worked better over more episodes. Why would she tell Sansa that she could rule the North when Jon was the Warden? I am not a Sansa fan but that was one scene that I was with her all the way. But for Dany the issue had been settled. The King had already bent the knee. She doesn't need to renegotiate with the Lady of Winterfell. I just can't compare combatants (Tarlys) to people caught in the crossfire.
  3. I liked the look Jon gave Dany after she burned Varys. This was really the first time he has seen her like this and he was uncomfortable with it. But I loved how they handled Jon's decision to finally not follow her. The contrast between him (only fighting (or not fighting) for what is right) and Grey Worm (just following the commands of his leader). Though I don't blame Grey Worm this was his training for years (plus the Missandei thing). I wonder if Grey Worm is going to tell Dany. Then Jon kills the Northman? who tries to rape that woman. He is still the Jon that knows what is right and doesn't have a problem backing that up with killing someone. That look he exchanged with Davos was so "we need to get the F out of here". I know this won't happen. The writers this season don't care about giving Jon time to process his feelings or what has happened to him. (Well I guess they really didn't do that when he was resurrected either). But I would love it if Jon and Davos talked next episode. Have they talked to each other this season? Jon has never had a problem expressing when he was wrong. I would like to see him get advise from Davos and just be devastated for trusting the wrong person. Though nothing she has done in Westeros would have led to him thinking she would do this. Burn the Rep Keep? Yes. Burn innocents? No. Who better than Stannis' loyal man would be able to relate?
  4. I haven't read the whole thread so if someone brought this up already, sorry. Why do you think Dany told Tyrion that Jaime was captured? Do you think she was testing him? If she was, he definitely failed. It just seemed like weird timing. But every character seems to tell people information at the oddest times.
  5. The Unsullied were 100% in character. When we first meet them we are told they will only kill who they are told to kill. When Dany decided to not listen to the surrender that was their cue to follow their leader. While the scene with Jon telling his men not to fight was both for us to see he is not following Dany and to contrast the downside to an Unsullied army.
  6. I think Tyrion was spared because he wasn’t actively trying to use the information. He told Varys but that was it. So once again he got another chance. Varys was spreading the news.
  7. Right. Dany thinking Jon betrayed her is just like Cersei thinking Tommen betrayed her. Or Cersei probably had a better argument. Dany was right about the consequences but she was not right to ask him to hide the truth from his family.
  8. Jon understands executing traitors and he knew firsthand that Varys was one. However, he most definitely gave her an unsettled look after Varys’ execution. And unlike the Unsullied who followed their Queen, Jon tried to stop his men from engaging. So I do think he is not onboard as he used to be. And if Dany really threatened his family that would definitely be it. I think most of his actions toward Dany have been because of guilt more than anything else. Not that that is a good reason to do anything. He does/did love her but to me he bent the knee because he got everything he wanted and she got nothing plus she lost a child. He feels guilty about his claim so he is holding fast to his backing of her. No more. But with these writers, who knows.
  9. Omg! How could I forget them? Thanks. I feel a little better.
  10. I may feel differently when I see them burning but at this moment I want Dany to burn it all. Hence why I am not the ruler of anything. Wow. They couldn't have Jon touch Ghost once? Dany part of the reason you fell in love with Jon was that he was honest and didn't play games. You can't ask that of him. At least marriage was mentioned again. The reason why it wouldn't work was not convincing. I understand the Starks got a rude awaking about playing the game but to have basically Cersei words to Joffrey come out of their mouths doesn't seem like something good. Everyone who is not us is an enemy - she is one of us. I felt really bad for Dany sitting by herself but then I thought why doesn't she try to mingle. I am reserving judgement about Jaime for now. Though, I do agree with someone up thread who mentioned he doesn't feel he deserves happiness and definitely not Brienne. Jon is my favorite but I am not crazy about how the show is portraying women in power. It looks like at the moment Cersei and Euron have the strongest relationship. How depressing. I forgot Sam and Gilly. Thanks MARYSNJ
  11. I am very curious about this. He can no longer (rightly) say we don't have time for this because of the AOTD. So after they burn the dead and mourn a little, what is next for Jon? I would be very sad for both Jon and Dany if the story goes the way of them turning on each other. Plus as others have said, I just don't see the story having enough time to develop this in a well written way. I know that doesn't mean it wouldn't go there but I would be disappointed.
  12. So much yes to this. I am not sure about the timeline thing and how it worked out with Peggy. I cried so hard when they were dancing. I don't even really care about their romance but Steve got to be happy after sacrificing his life, the disorientation of waking up in the future, the Hydra still exists realization, the break up of the Avengers, his friend trying to murder his best friend (who was a victim too) in cold blood, the lose to Thanos, Nat dying, and Tony dying. It was time to live for himself finally. Is it selfish sure but he earned it. And I do think Bucky knew or suspected what he was going to do. I felt this was a very strong movie for Steve and Cap. I loved Steve's acknowledgement of not being able to move on when he is telling his group to do so. Just a reminder that Steve is just a man with flaws. Cap got a lot of the big audience reactions in my theater - the elevator, his ass, the hammer, Avengers Assemble. How old do we think Steve is on the bench? My years may be off - Born 1918, in the ice 1945 (27), 2011 out of the ice (27), the snap 2018 (34), current 5 years later (39), goes back to 1945 (39), on the bench 2023 (117). Is this right? And he didn't seem like on the verge of death. Thank you super serum.
  13. You seemed to have cut my point. So I will put it here with the sentence before. You only quoted the last sentence. So as you see I clearly acknowledge and am ok with the human reaction. just to be clear, my issue is not that she gave into fear and didn’t try to help her people emotionally or physically. It’s that she considers herself the best leader and then does this. Plus I later admit that if she acknowledges her giving into fear I would admire that.
  14. I thought for sure Grey Worm was a goner when he took his helmet off. So now we could see it is Grey Worm and not just another Unsullied. So pleasantly surprised he lived (for now).
  15. Spoiler for Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 3 Of course, no matter what I am watching it comes back to Dean. (I may have issues). 😉
  16. Thanks for so this. You are right. It wasn't arrogance but a finally.
  17. I want to give some props to the Night King because up until the end he was really smart with his battle plan. He knows he has the advantage - he has the numbers, a dragon, White Walkers, the ability to raise the dead and general weather magic - but he wasn't cocky in his use of them. He didn't expose his weakness (that killing Walkers kills the Wights) until he had to. Did the Walkers even engage anyone that we saw? The advantage of having the overwhelming numbers was greatly highlighted by the "sacrificing" of wights to get over the fire. I give him a pass on looking smug after surviving dragon fire. When he faced offed with Jon, instead of doing the "lets do this man to man" he rightfully was like "I don't need to kill you. Have fun with all these wights. I have a 3ER to kill." It wasn't until he got to Bran that he lost focus and let his "I am really about to do this" rule his thinking and that allowed Arya (who had a unique set of skills) to come in for the kill. With this type of smarts there was no battle plan the humans could have come up with that would have been successful. As we saw, if the dragons stayed still on the ground they would have been swarmed by wights. The snow coming in limited the air ability of the dragons as a whole. Plus, as we saw, the NK would eventually force the dragons to engage him to defend themselves.
  18. Before the battle I never expected Sansa to fight, even though Jon called for everyone to pick up arms. Why would she listen to Jon about this danger? She hasn’t before. I had no issue with her going to hide. At least, unlike Sam, she knew where she would be a liability. When she arrived in the crypts, I literally said “‘Do your thing, girl.” I thought she would help with morale and comfort. But she did nothing and even hid with a weapon when her people were dying. In an episode when people left and right were facing horror but still standing strong until death, it is very glaring. I keep on thinking about what Arya said to Sansa last season. What would you say to little Lyanna Mormont “I was just a child.”? just to be clear, my issue is not that she gave into fear and didn’t try to help her people emotionally or physically. It’s that she considers herself the best leader and then does this. Now if in the next episode she owns her non-actions, I will give props.
  19. Thanks for this. Some people tend to think since you don’t get the or a BIG moment you did nothing. Jon learned from the BOTB and tried to stick to the plan but got pulled in by Dany (I don’t blame her). You can’t win with some people. If Jon tries and gets pinned down by a dragon he is useless. But if Jon succeeded and kills the NK he would probably be called a Mary Sue.
  20. What a team effort. Jon got them all together, Dany supplied the bulk of the force and fire power, Bran supplied the weapon, and Arya executed. They all did their part (well maybe Sam not so much lol). I think I was drained from Endgame. I did not get as emotional as I thought I would. I don’t know how but Ghost better be alive. 😊
  21. I am also glad Jack told Dean he understood at the end. Because Jack was definitely on board with ending Dean when Michael was a thing because that would have been what Dean wanted.
  22. I am not necessarily happy Jack is dead but I am glad that story arc is over. I know he will probably come back but I see things probably being different. Dean is MY hero. I had no issue with his stance on Jack (even though I never believed he would go through with it). Dean and the guitar was so awesome. I am so glad he told Chuck to go to hell. Chuck lost points with me after He told Dean to stop projecting Dean’s daddy issues on to Him. So I am surprised but not shocked that the show went Evil God. And I am only surprised because I do think it is ballsy to have God be evil. I actually thought Chuck was going to turn out to be The Empty in disguise. Speaking of The Empty - is Cas’ deal still in effect? I hear Sam’s point but that is what always gets the boys in trouble. They save each other and create a different mess. I must say, I am interested in where this going. Is everything undone? Cas said souls from Hell, what about Purgatory?
  23. Yep. Dean pulled a classic Dean Winchester.
  24. I totally agree. Plus it was not like he just told her out of nowhere. She brought of the Lyanna rape story and how that troubled her with the other stories she heard about her brother. There was no way Jon was going to let her keep thinking those things. If he waited after that conversation her reception would definitely be worse. At the moment all we have is shock. We will have to wait for the "processed" reaction.
  25. OH GOD! Almost every scene at the end I was like "and this is the last time they speak". It was all set up for death. But so good. I am living for the interactions this season. It was so subtle, I almost missed Ghost. I am happy that Tyrion's screw ups were clearly addressed and I like how it was handle. Jaime and Brienne was just everything to me. I wanted Gendry/Arya but went it started happening I realized I wasn't ready. It was like watching my teenage nephew in musical theater kissing. Damn you Night King. You kind of interrupted an important conversation. Not that I think Jon is manipulating her but thank Dany for bringing up the point to Sansa that Jon went South and got everything he wanted and had Dany pause her campaign. I know the show is not made just for me but if Sansa had been like she was this episode more often I could totally be with her. She was assertive, asked the tough questions, and was persistent. But the snotty bratty "I know more than you attitude" was missing.
