  1. I guess that's true. Maybe FOX ordered this show before the strike started, anticipating that it was going to happen. It was definitely part of their "strike-proof" schedule that was announced back in the summer.
  2. The fake commercials were the best part, but I also wondered how this show managed to get created without a WGA writer on staff. Clearly there's a lot of writing going on to create those things, they were almost like little comedy sketches (The "Polar Opposite" dating app was the funniest one).
  3. Back in June of last year , the show received a double renewal for Season 5 and Season 6 simultaneously. Now, that hypothetical Season 6 (which probably would've started filming around now I suppose) could always be rescinded for strike reasons I guess, but hopefully they'll honor the deal to make another season.
  4. This season was called "End Times", so I feel like there probably....isn't going to be a next time? I'm actually surprised this got a fourth season, considering how much TBS is getting out of the scripted comedy business. Plus, I'm not really sure where they'd go from here, considering this series has already gone into the "future" (or a possible future).
  5. I wonder about those SAG rules for game shows. Celebs can appear I guess, but won't be able to plug any of their other projects. So it's going to be like "You'll know this person from...uh, I guess we can't say where right now" 😀 This would be more of an issue with Celebrity Family Feud I suppose, which often has themed episodes (like the recent "Haunted Mansion" one). But CFF isn't on ABC's schedule for the fall.
  6. It's funny how you can tell they're running these episodes out of production order. Last week's episode started off with a recap of Mark Duplass who was in this episode; this episode started off with Jeff Ross who is going to be on next Sunday's episode.
  7. I think they do it so that during the summer there will be "new" programming to fill out the schedule. I think it's fun to have game shows on in prime time during the summer. Of course, this year, the fall schedule is going to kind of resemble "Summer Schedule 2.0" 😀
  8. Or "What state did Joe Biden represent in the Senate?" Or "What state were Wayne and Garth less than thrilled to be in?" 😄
  9. Has there ever been a case where the team went through the entire chain and made all the money? I don't think it's happened with this new iteration of the show, but even on the original show did it ever happen?
  10. I saw Jack Black's character from "School of Rock" in there as well.
  11. I think he said "Untitled Vagina Woman" 😄
  12. "If this show is supposed to be about dragons, why is it all just ladies taking baths?" Maybe he IS too young to watch if that's his attitude 😄
  13. Did you threaten to set the building on fire? 😀
  14. That was the first thing that struck me, that the animation in the Itchy & Scratchy short was TOO good. It's supposed to be kind of janky, no? 😀
  15. That was the actual voice of ALF, Paul Fusco. Al Jean and Mike Reiss were writers for "ALF" early in their TV writing career.
  16. The guy who plays Shred seems like the love child of Andy Samberg and Tim Robinson 😀
  17. Yes! Very in the vein of Patton's "failure pile in a sadness bowl" bit 😄
  18. Ava calling Jacob "Conan O'Cryin'" also funny 😄
  19. The show that they're replacing it with (that Gina Rodriguez show) just does not look like a good fit with the rest of the shows on Wednesday nights. Even though Abbott Elementary isn't a "family" sitcom, it's sort of about a "workplace family" and it's a show that adults can watch with their kids. The Gina R show looks like a show squarely aimed at adults. But maybe if this is the last season for The Goldbergs, they're gonna be reworking the idea of Wednesday nights being all "family" sitcoms anyway.
  20. I was struggling this whole episode to figure out where I've seen this actress before, and it's from the last 2 Jurassic World movies, which shows how memorable those were.
  21. When she said that line, she sounded a lot like Nikki Glaser to me, which would fit in with the "roast" theme of this episode. I'd be surprised if Glaser can sing that well though.
  22. This actress played a similar role on the last season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, she seems to be making "annoying" her stock in trade 😀
  23. Agreed that I would've liked to have heard more actual Muppet songs, but at least we got to see some lesser-known Muppets like Uncle Deadly and Crazy Harry. I'm still having a hard time adjusting to Kermit's new voice. I had like 30 years to get adjusted to Steve Whitmire doing it, but I didn't expect we were going to get a third Kermit voice in my lifetime. The idea of the Lambs being HAIM is a funny one, but I think it's Wilson Phillips.
