  1. Starfleet Academy Series Officially Announced; and it looks like it will be a Discovery spinoff set in the 32nd century too: https://trekmovie.com/2023/03/30/breaking-star-trek-starfleet-academy-series-officially-annnounced/
  2. Brutal! I knew it was too good to be true, but didn't see it turning that bad.
  3. Canada has a more robust social welfare state that Lucas could benefit from, it's not that far away and is English speaking, so I don't see why it would be seen as such a dead-end prospect for him. Callie's return was a lot of nothing, but maybe she'll 'return' again later in the season to resolve the proposal?
  4. Sasha nailed this, she had family resemblance and vivacity. Loosey successfully cloned her face but that's all; however yet again I would have put Mistress in the bottom instead. Mistress really failed by dressing her daughter in unflattering all-black including dark face contouring while giving herself bright, eye-popping colors; she should have given herself the ugly/wicked look. Luxx didn't even try to make a resemblance and did not give a good face or dress to her daughter, who looked sunburnt; I would have loved to see her go home for it. Anetra did great and deserved the win but I didn't love the hand-waving on stage which felt like it lasted for hours.
  5. Eliminating Marcia right before Wigloose robs not just her, but us the audience, since it’s more fun seeing people doing challenges that actually match their talents. I thought the queens learned already to flip a coin or something instead of tearing each other apart if 2 want the same role? I have no interest in the drama, and don’t like Loosey or Misstress so I’d love a double elim. Loosey’s drag on stage is generic and not enough, she reminds me of Nina West who was similarly lackluster.
  6. I'm so happy for Eugene, it was beyond heart-breaking seeing him recount the dire poverty his family lived in in court, and then the moment he realized the gas had been turned off...was incredible. Fuck that prosecutor, he's going to get a better start in life now, and that's wonderful, though I wish he could keep some line open to Lee. Fia found out the truth and has likewise abandoned her family and the single parenthood which would make her dependent on them. It's not clear if Michael is finishing his tax evasion sentence or a new one, but given his MIL breaking down in tears when he left, I take it's the latter, they can't try him for throwing the case or killing boat guy, but for covering for Adam, yes. Hopefully the Baxter's new era will be very, very short now that there are so many potential witnesses. I would watch more seasons, but this was really powerful and satisfying in itself.
  7. Poor Eddie, got murdered and took the fall for the 'Eat The Rich' murders, while Nadia went to jail as his accomplice. I'm glad that Marrienne got to be the final girl, surviving a full 2 seasons (and now that she's happily 'dead' with her daughter will hopefully retain that status), and that we finally left behind the lame trope of Joe having dissociative amnesia personified by an imaginary friend, which is overused in tv. I'm hoping now we can get a final season that brings back Ellie, Paco, Nadia, Theo, Joe's mother and half brother, and more characters from previous seasons to properly close this out. Joe is now richer and more powerful than the Quinn's and Theo's dad, so it seems more likely that someone Joe would naively trust (i.e. Ellie and Paco who I imagine he might turn into his projects/proteges now that he can shower them with money) that could be the one to kill him and/or allow the killer to get close enough.
  8. They waited until the last episode to finally advise Bao to maybe not rely solely on her sexy cutouts in every look, but just blankly nodded when Deontre announced his plan to rehash his lame oversized puffer jackets from episode 1; there were so many challenges he should have gone home in, and puffers are not the next big thing. I wish James and Megan got to make final collections instead. But Nigel's collection was really cool, I love his innovative designs and he does model his style expertly so I'm glad he won.
  9. The Giraffe's escaped from the zoo was truly magical, and I loved the Joel/Ellie dialogue this episode, even though I hated the episode length. The word the fireflies used was 'cure,' not vaccine, which implies it would be more like anti-venom, unless you were actually contemplating 'curing' the already infected which, after a certain stage sounds very difficult. But whether it's a treatment or inoculation or both, it seems like it could only realistically be distributed among a small section of survivors (unless they're going to take ships and go...fucking everywhere with it, every island, every continent, every hidden cabin in the mountains, in this deeply divided, mistrusting and factionalized world) would still be fighting off infected hordes until they reached the end of their lifespan/truly stopped finding new humans to infect. That would take potentially a very long time. Undoubtedly it would help some people, but the world before is never coming back, especially since the early 2000's had already locked in a large amount of catastrophic climate change that's going to place severe limits on humanity's survival anyway. So, I don't really blame Joel for not saying "okay, murder Ellie to test your theory." At least Marlene and the surgeon aren't around to try and replicate the conditions of Ellie's birth with new mothers/babies, which would be horrifying.
  10. I'm sad to see Megan go when she was not the worst here; I like her overall aesthetic, which is very 'Teddy Fresh' but the judges have not been fans unfortunately.
  11. I'm sad to see Marcia go, she's such a ray of sunshine; the editing made it obvious that she was going home, but really I don't agree that Mistress was better/funnier than her. The decision for that group to do long-form stories was really painful. Sasha nailed Patsi's look but didn't get funny until she riffed at the end. L/L deserved the joint win but they had no competition because no one else was funny. The lipsync was worthy of both staying. Marcia and Blair Sinclair should totally start a girl group. The extra 20 minutes added a lot tonight, and they better release the original/longer cuts of the rest of this season at some point.
  12. The queens perform stand-up comedy in pairs, but an odd number of queens causes for some drama; Comedian Ali Wong (Ali Wong: Baby Cobra) guest judges.
  13. Amari should have gone home for that poorly constructed, ill-fitting pink suit. But Nigel's was definitely the best.
  14. Yeah, I'm assuming Kate's dad doesn't know who he is and didn't try to convince him to kill Rhys. With that kind of money he could certainly hire people to see through Joe's disguise/fake identity quite easily, but he could also hire a proper asassin, unless his point was to manipulate Joe into committing a murder so he could expose and put him in jail to get rid of his daughter's not-good-enough boyfriend. In any case, it does make sense that Joe is the 'eat the rich killer' and obviously didn't let Marrienne go.
  15. Bao's dress came out looking like a wrinkly bed sheet to me, the 'lots of pockets' design was not executed well, and I wasn't a fan of the boxer shorts either. Seemingly no one was sent home here as an acknowledgement that the designers weren't given enough time to do something great, but it stings given the arbitrary, pointless elimination of James and Godoy last episode.
  16. James could have gone all the way to the finale; I would have loved to have seen his final collection, and it's so sad that he was sent home here for no good reason. I don't agree that they HAD to do a double elimination, or that they couldn't change their minds and just eliminate the two weakest designers regardless of team.
  17. I loved hearing Jame's story, and I wish I could buy what he sent down the runway, which was yet again amazing. I also really appreciated Godoy's look as well as Megan's. This was a great challenge, and I'm really glad that this show doesn't feature any toxic drama from the contestants or judges like PR/MTC tend to. And it is really powerful to embrace James and Godoy and their stories especially with what's happening in America right now, with the transgender community having their rights taken away in state after state and drag being criminalized.
  18. Powerful episode; I didn't see the cannibalism coming, but yes, guy was clearly a creep from the beginning, and like Kathleen, the community was talking about "justice" for their dead murdering thug who went after people just minding their own business. I assume they raided the college with intentions to kill/capture the primates running about and then saw Ellie/Joel and the horse as an added bonus to their food-stores. I'm glad Ellie and Joel apparently got away, I was afraid the villagers would come running, but with their cult leader dead they will hopefully be in too much disarray. And indeed, it was sad seeing the horse murdered. Do the infected attack animals I wonder, even if they can't pass the cordyceps on; I mean they respond to movement, but perhaps also to the smell of humans exclusively. After 20 years of no humans, you'd think the wilderness would be chock full of animals, wolves and coyotes moving back in, etc.
  19. I wasn't able to get into the first season partly because the endless informal chatter of the hosts threw me off (and it's still a lot), but this was good, I like these designers. I favored James for the win with his gorgeous Bowie-esque design that looked so good on his model, and I also loved the shiny/glittery blue dress one of the designers sent out; Deonte's I didn't care for at all, and that 'puffer' was just a giant bed comforter. I really hope the judges falling all over themselves to praise his hip hop streetwear doesn't become a weekly pattern. But the worst was clearly the ill-fitting Nefertiti costume, which was too literal to be fashion.
  20. Mini challenges do not count, Loosey has 1 win, and no not the most iconic in herstory either; get a grip on your delusions, gurl! Sasha is the only queen this season who has won not only 2, but now 3 main challenges, and deservedly so! She looked so gorgeous on the runway tonight, and with those curls and that face, she giving me a 90's Michelle Pfeiffer. Anetra's runway was also gagworthy, as per usual. I wonder if there was a (cut) mini challenge though, something to explain Lux's robe and towel around on her head... Misstress being safe was complete bullshit, she froze uncomfortably along with Malaysia, and we've been cheated out of seeing them lipsync against each other. At least this is the last shortened episode.
  21. For this week's main challenge, the queens conduct celebrity interviews. On the runway, category is Night of 1,000 Beyoncés.
  22. Wow, this was emotionally powerful and dynamic storytelling! Chracter-driven and action-packed! This almost makes me wonder if there could be more DS9 characters incoming, since the main enemies are changelings. The next-next generation aspect also makes me wish that Miral, the daughter of Tom Paris/B'Elanna Torres could also appear, since we know from Endgame that she joined Starfleet as well.
  23. Well, that's really a shame, I love this show and it's cast/characters that have rightly pushed the bounds of Star Trek and brought it back from being off the air for years with brilliant storylines despite the toxic, homophobic/racist/mysogynistic/transphobic tirades of the online fanbase. I'm glad they're going to film additional episodes to give it a proper conclusion, and hope that new series (like Star Trek Academy which is said to be a spinoff of Discovery with some of the same characters) will be green-lit that aren't based on the dated, tired 90's trek model like STW.
  24. Growing up queer, straight/cis relationships were "forced" into my view in every show, and behind the scenes, were forced to be the only presence by censors who actively banned LGBTQ representation. Sad to see that homophobic dogwhistle that every minority representation is "forced" upon straight white men as if white cis heteronormativity isn't what has actually been forced on all of us endlessly. -- This was a really touching episode, and while I wanted the action to continue, I was fondly rewarded by getting more of Ellie's backstory, of the person who she apparently meant when she said she had lost someone. And seeing post-apocalyptic teens exploring the wonders of a mall and the poetic motif of dancing in halloween masks before a real monster rushed them was spot-on.
  25. I hope there are more episodes. Stephen deserves justice, and I hope the Murdaugh's aren't enabled to pin his and Gloria's death on Paul, Debbie, or even Alex if he's convicted in order to save Buster.
