I personally don’t think soaps can continue in this 1-hr/5 days a week format. If they do a Netflix/YouTube/Hulu route, they should prioritize quality over quantity and maybe people will care again.

Oh, I agree. I may be in the minority, but I don’t think every character has to be in a romantic relationship. And the people who solely watch for that are missing out and are typically never satisfied.

I’d say her best on-screen partners (on GH) were GV and BM and still, she bored me. Sam just isn’t that interesting, mostly because her character traits are tied to men. Her personality changes and fluctuates depending on who she is currently dating, so her inconsistencies are annoying to follow as a viewer. The show also doesn’t seem to care about any relationships she has outside of her man at the moment. I think most all the vets should be relegated to stints, tbh. But, like you said, it seems like they’re only catering to this “longtime fanbase” because they have to. Otherwise, if this show was still successful, they would have already transitioned to the new generation and Sonny/Carly/Jason/Sam would be background fodder.

Personally, I think it’s Monaco’s time to go. I can actually think of reasons why Jason could be on canvas; I got nothing for Sam anymore.

That and the Sam fans’ “Patrick should come back after divorcing Robin, bringing back their kids with him, and then crawling to fuck Sam again.” While there’s many ideas there to mock, did no one just see what happened with Drew/Billy Miller? The mighty Steve Burton will always win, you guys. It’s tragic, I know.

Oh, and I forgot to add re: JT, I still think it’s quite ...interesting... that some people think that man’s employment/character is more important than Kimberly’s legacy on this show.

I wouldn’t care if JT came back. As Patrick or another character, it wouldn’t bother me. This show is already trash. Do I particularly want it, though? No. But it’s not the “Scrubs need to be paired” factor. It’s that Robin is trashed EVERY TIME and I don’t have trust in Frank to not to throw her in another cage.

Honestly, I bet when most of these actors think back to Mo...their memories often travel to the ‘90s.

I mean, I don’t have the ability to take a poll to determine what the fans think, but on the SHOW, he has. He has been redeemed by the writers.

To be clear, I’m talking about Frank’s choices, not the history of GH. And it’s also not about episode count. Just merely about what characters have stuck around and were either rehabilitated or semi-rehabilitated under Frank because of his personal preference for the actor. So my list would be Franco, Dr. O, Brad, Britt, Ava, Peter, Nina...

But I don’t get why the show would suddenly think it’s a no-no to keep him as the same character. This is what they do. They keep rapists, murderers, sexual assaulters, kidnappers, etc, when they like the actor and have never cared if it made sense or not.

I’m not even really comparing the actresses’ abilities, though. I’m merely talking about how Phyllis as a character was intended to be. I’ve despised the character from the beginning, so I don’t care, regardless.

For me, looking at those pics, it’s almost like MS never left, lol. GT was never Phyllis for me; it was as if she was playing someone completely different the entire time.

Aka she misses the quality, the characters, the story. Now it’s all about just applauding the fact that the show is still being produced quickly and under budget. Who cares. Cancel, pls.

LOL. I cracked up at how she said “yes, I am!” when the interviewer said they were back together. Ugh, I still wonder what it would have been like if she never left in ‘99. 😒
