Just because someone doesn’t want to hear something doesn’t mean you don’t try? If that’s how we treat people we love and watch as they self-destruct without discussions or interventions or doing ANYTHING? I don’t really have a response to that. I don’t agree with that stance to just watch as things happen around me. Sam going through with this plan effects Jason and their children because it effects Sam’s mental health, which has already been on display with her flashbacks and not being present anymore in certain moments. Not everything is about Sam and what she wants. She has a family. She is selfish when it comes down to it. Only caring about what you want to do in a relationship of any kind never works. Life doesn’t work that way either.

He could have ... tried. They could have .... discussed it more, talked in detail on what was about to occur, talk about her being sexually assaulted by Franco. Locking her in a closet isn’t what this is about. It’s about making an ATTEMPT to talk sense into person.

Like, let’s see, I can either have GT’s Phyllis who only wants to fuck Billy Abbott or MS’ Phyllis who won’t have a damn thing to do with him. I’ll take the latter.

So Jason doesn’t think he does anything wrong? How is that a good thing? Because from what you described, Sonny seems like a more evolved person if he knows he’s wrong and does bad things/ knows he’s a bad person.
-
No, Jason is pro himself making his own choices. Jason has very rarely respected other characters in that way. So I don’t agree. People can make their own choices, and in turn, others can critique and condemn those choices. For Jason not to push back Sam’s plan in any way, or engage with her in a dialogue about how her choice will result in her being touched by another man, is a bad writing choice.
-
I don’t agree. We’re talking about the subject of drugging and sexual assault. Jason would not be a bully in this scenario, IMO. He’d be the smart one. He’d have a working brain. Anyone can think how they’d like on fictional characters, yes. But the idea of “respecting the general idea of letting someone go through with their own agenda” is a sticky one, regardless. You can’t apply that to anyone and anything, lol. The majority here don’t respect Sonny’s choices? So I’m lost.
-
What’s too far, though? If Shiloh didn’t drug and try to sexually assault her, they wouldn’t have anything on him? They needed Shiloh to do those things to prove that he was doing those things.... Correct. Not only that, but why should anyone feel obligated to respect Sam?
-
Jason really allowed Sam to be sexually assaulted. I’m sorry, I’m still having a delayed reaction to this.

Here, I’ll catch you up: Jason: Hero Sam: Hero Sonny: Good Father

Personally, it does amaze me. Probably one of the most unrealistic relationships that’s ever been written on GH. Jason and Sonny, especially, would have dropped her yearssss ago under competent writers. 🤡
-
Partly, sure. I think it’s also that they can no longer write Carly like they used to. She’s not that person to TPTB anymore. She’s “Mom.” Oh, look, it’s Samantha “I Can Handle Anything Including Sexual Assault Because I’m So Strong and No One Is As Strong As I Am” McCall. Pls, someone offer KeMo a Hallmark movie because this character needs a rest.
-
Because they don’t care about other women? The only priority is protecting Sonny’s mob cult secrets.
-
Hmm. Sonny and Jason invite you to be part of their “family.” They feed on your insecurities to make you believe that you need them. You, in turn, do whatever it takes to protect them. Then one day you decide, “Wait, this is weird.” Sonny and Jason use the shit you revealed about yourself to bury you. Then they either attempt to kill you or you die under suspicious circumstances. SOUNDS LIKE A CULT.
-
It’s OK to be part of Sonny and Jason’s killing cult. Sam’s been a member since 2003 and she’s thriving as a member of society.
-
Look at Real Sam all smug that Sonny is a murderer! That’s our girl!
-
What really makes me sick about how this was written is they had a sexual assault victim basically volunteer to be sexually assaulted as if it wasn’t a BIG DEAL. This should have been something Sam struggled with and did not want to do. She should have had flashbacks and break downs about her past and her memories with Franco. This show completely diminished the struggles of women who have been assaulted.
-
I still don’t understand how to feel bad for this character? They wanted to catch Shiloh in the act, yes? Because if he didn’t do anything, what exactly was the purpose of this exercise? Can anyone explain? Am I missing a chunk of this story? They clearly needed Shiloh to reveal his illegal and disgusting behavior. So was Jason just supposed to get there before the rape actually happened and during another type of sexual assault—-the kissing/touching? I’m so confused as to what JaSam wanted from this.
-
Correct. Sam is dumb, period. What she did is not smart, cool, heroic, or should ever be duplicated.
-
Sam didn’t deserve it, obviously. I just don’t think her plan is comparable to those women who did not know who Shiloh was or what he’s about.
-
It’s literally the same story. Over and over.
-
I hate Jason but Jason in-character would have never in a million years agreed to this plan.
