  1. I haven't, but that does sound neat. I have a good spot or two for that sort of thing.
  2. I keep the cards I get, but I never get many, so it's not an issue for me. Once when driving back from Houston, there was a motorcycle gang/club? of about 25 riding ten miles below the limit. They were taking up both lanes. At one point, a car got inbetween the bikers. That didn't go well. I ended up stopping to get something to eat. I didn't want to deal with it. They seemed really intimidating. It was strange, and I was very uncomfortable.
  3. That's really cool. I don't think we have a community garden and no patio/balcony right now. My dad has the largest balcony I've ever seen, but when I lived there, I tried a few potted plants- the high winds killed them all. My mom has a small garden area in her yard, so if I can ever get that, maybe she can give some tips. I guess it will be another year and a half or so. I'm not really sure where I'll be. Tonight is bbq chicken with mushroom and chives. Broccoli. Fried squash.
  4. I want a garden...I don't know how well that would work for me but maybe if I get into a house next year, I can try.
  5. Ok, ok, I lied!! I ate two strawberry cupcakes.
  6. Thanks bilgistic. I'm sorry people haven't respected your decision and desire not to have children.
  7. Lettuce salad with a scoop of chicken salad, tomatoes, avocado, nuts Strawberry cupcake
  8. I don't like it when anyone makes pronouncements that their way of life is the best and everyone else sucks. I get not understanding why something makes people happy, but that's just how things are- doesn't need a long FB post about how stupid those people are. FB and the Internet have definitely made a change to how we "mind our own business." People now write and publish their every opinion and others debate or attack back. Wrong or right, good or bad...this is all a big change.
  9. ALenore, do you put garlic in the creamed spinach you make?
  10. Sausage and caramelized onion pizza Mixed greens and tomato salad Turtle cheesecake
  11. I do not like this cheddar cheese I got from Target. I don't know the brand, but it's mango fire cheddar flavor. One piece will be hot; the next is mild. But, the mango flavor is chemical tasting. Just no good at all to me.
  12. Backformore, I certainly do think what you wrote is a balanced view. Thank you for taking the time to write it out.
  13. ALenore and harrie, I'm awfully sorry to hear about your work. I sincerely hope things get back on a good path asap. I was so worn out today, I just went to Chic fil a. I know. I know. Please don't hate me. I ate a sandwich, fries, and tried the frozen lemonade another poster mentioned (I think on the fast food board). That drink was the best thing I've had in a long time. Finished it before I got home. I'd just had a protein bar and two veggie dogs earlier, so I was very hungry.
  14. I do completely agree with all this, Bastet. I'm just touchy when it seems like it's more than an annoyance to have a child even exist. I know it's my choice to have this baby, but, I just can't imagine looking at an infant and feeling like it's not even a human being..just some object someone thrust into society as a burden. Maybe I'm blowing things out of proportion. If so, I'm sorry. I'm just very happy and excited, try not to annoy or make everyone angry, and I feel like I'm constantly doing everything wrong. Everyone I actually have talked to tells me I need a support system yet it seems that would be the exact opposite of what's recommended here. Like, if I ever asked for help or wanted to share anything, I'd better just shut my mouth because nobody flying fig about about any choice I made.
  15. Yes. Well, my take is that in my heart I don't want to annoy anyone. However, a good friend sometimes I think should make a few allowances to stay a good friend. And, if I'm talking to a friend and a stranger nearby decided to tell me to shut up because my pregnancy talk annoyed him/her, I'd completely ignore that person. I wouldn't care. I guess this is a very unpopular opinion, but I was raised to be more community-minded than individualistic. Cultural thing perhaps. I don't know. But, I enjoy volunteering with kids and the elderly when I'm able. I hope to have my child be able to participate in community sports and not be shunned from "the village." I like to help out. And when someone walks out in front of me, I do think it's very unsafe and it is annoying/maddening, but I never think about running them over. I'm very glad I haven't ever hit anyone. Anyone seen the Girls episode where the cab driver hits the old lady, was it? That was funny to me, but it's not real life. Not trying to step on any toes. But, to be "fair" several people have made it perfectly clear I'm not welcome if i ever utter a word about my "reproductive choice"- and, so I guess I think I can be a little bold in my statements as well. Trust me, if you don't kidnap us and send us back to Uganda, I won't ever ask a single poster here to babysit or even look at my reproductive choice. Thankfully, we certainly don't need anyone else. Never have, so it won't be a hard transition.
  16. Breaded chicken with Parmesan cheese and diced tomatoes, spinach pasta An orange I do think some of the bloat has gone, but I am missing my bigger pregnant belly. Almost halfway through the pregnancy.
  17. One memory of Halloween I have from a few years back- that day I dressed up as a doll. I had a flight out that evening, and I kept my false lashes on and my hair in high pigtail braids...but I changed into normal clothes and wiped most makeup off. In the airport bathroom, a woman came up to me and said, "I think it is so brave and confident of you to wear your hair exactly how you want. Forget everyone else! You've really inspired me to be proud of my personal style!" She was completely serious. I said thank you and went on my way....even though I don't always do that, hey, I did decide to keep it silly looking for the flight. Didn't want to rain on her parade.
  18. I agree that a lot of how old someone looks has to do with styling and how a person carries themselves. Take a woman who has had tons of botox and fillers. Even with no wrinkles, you can tell they're not 25. And, I've seen 18 yr olds with wrinkles, but I still knew they weren't 35,40+
  19. Veggie dog, baked potato, tomatoes, and a banana. I guess that's fairly healthy. I blew up while at Disney. I had 3 strangers ask when I'm due. My maternity pants I bought that 2 weeks ago were falling down...not anymore! Yikes.
  20. I would personally do thick, opaque tights, but that's because I find hospitals absolutely freezing! Target has a good selection on the winter but probably not this time of year...maybe online. I'd likely wear leggings if not tights. But, I don't know if you're prone to be too warm.
  21. I really enjoy tomato sides- either a cold salad or roasted tomatoes
  22. On my plane ride- American Air- I had really good chocolate wafers. They were something Petites. I can't remember! But so yummy. They were tan with dark brown stripes. Thin layer of chocolate in the middle. About an inch long and 1/2 in thick? Anyone else have these?
  23. Kids' behavior of.....picking their nose and eating the results. On a Disbey shuttle bus today, a boy about 10 years old did that the whole way, and half the way he was using his snot to draw pictures on the window. His parents let him sit up near the front alone. I wanted to hurl. He'd look you dead in the eye and keep doing it. It was a disconcerting feeling. When people enter a store, etc during the rain, and they automatically shake out their sleeves/umbrella/ponchos/etc without checking to see first if people are near them. But, may I say, a pet peeve of mine temporarily (I think) has a solution. My pregnant abdomen area is larger and so my shorts no longer almost fall down without a belt. It's a glorious feeling. Oh...and I'm definitely buying a leash. I don't know for sure how much I'll use it, but I can say if when I vacation with him or her to places like large cities or to Disney...yes, I'll have a leash. For my child's safety and to keep them from darting out in front of others. It will be: either I wear you, you're going in the stroller, or it's the leash :)
  24. I've no clue. I had a petite four and strawberries for breakfast. Green beans and chicken for lunch. Crackers and cheese for snack. I need to go to the club I belong to in order to fulfill my monthly minimum requirement, but I don't know if I feel like it. Guess I should anyway...ok. I convinced myself. I'll get something to go and bring it back. Salmon maybe.
  25. My mother signed me up for that site somehow. I very much dislike it. I kept unsubscribing from emails and getting more that people were searching for me. I don't really care about my address being up there. It's just that I don't want to know if people are looking for me. Why are they? Lol. My info isn't even correct but heck if I'm fixing it. Finally, the emails have stopped, or they go to the junk folder at least.
