  1. I personally disagree. I'm upset about molestation. I'm upset about hate speech. But, they're separate. I find molesting to be no more despicable when it's done in hypocrisy. Why? Because that would mean, to me, a non-hypocritical person who molests somehow is doing less harm or that the harm is less impactful. It's like a pass/fail class to me. You molest- you fail. You're hating- you fail. If you "just" do one, you're not passing. Just my opinion. Also, Josh has not been found to be the one molester loose in the world. Molesters, as far as I'm aware, can be anyone. I don't stereotype. I'll watch my child around anyone and make consistent observations. This is all my opinion.I guess what I'm saying is this could have been Joe Schmo or Suzy Schmoozy and I also would be outraged and devastated.
  2. A sincere apology can, to me, mean so much. I don't think you're too sensitive, applecrisp. I find it refreshing and kind anytime people can correct a misstep or learn from mistakes, reach out, and resolve the issue. I don't mean to say anyone has to accept any apology. I'm just saying it can be very nice on the instance where someone sincerely apologizes and the offended/hurt person feels better.
  3. To be frank, I'm not the biggest fan of the thought that - for any and everyone- gaining weight is near impossible but losing is simple math. Either there's an emotional component, a medical issue, hormonal issue, and or medication side effects affecting either side of the coin if gaining or losing isn't working with sincere, calculated effort. I got called into school over concern about my weight. I was purposely upping my calories significantly but losing weight. Turns out I had a bad ulcer. A round of antibiotics cured it. Also, I was on antidepressants once. I gained 20lbs pretty darn quickly in high school. Got off then, the weight went away in a month. There are millions of examples. My grandma was always under 110 even fully pregnant. From 60-97 years old, she was between 65-75lbs at 5'2." She ate very slowly and very little. She said she'd get choked if she ate more. Who knows. Doctors and hospice did every test. But, the fact was, she just wasn't getting the calories. Once she was tube fed, her body wasn't properly digesting the food but that was at age 96. But, she did gain about 10 lbs in the end. Point being, some people just don't want to change or some others to make an effort. Others have issues diagnosed or known. Some never figure it out, but there probably is an issue that could be found with the right test. I don't take it upon myself to decide that for anyone but myself and anyone, like a child, I'd be responsible for their health. I totally get being annoyed by constant talk about anything. What I'm saying I don't understand is someone on any side of the coin deciding what another person's issue is. Does no good. I don't comment on anyone's weight except to my mom or something in private- and not meanly. Just if there's something we're talking about in private. Not trying to be rude here. To be very, very clear, I don't support anyone being harassed or being made fun of or bringing the attention of someone's weight or any physical attribute. Heck, I even dislike when someone points out i'm quiet! It's all at the very least impolite. Oh...but I do call my cat skinny ;) but, I never laugh at him.
  4. Potato croquettes and rabbit ravioli. Some burrata mozzarella.
  5. Jill posted a picture of herself and Jessa smiling on FB. I'd feel better about knowing about this abuse if we knew how the victims felt about this all being released.
  6. Half can of Lima beans, half a baked potato. A little salt and pepper. A prune. A couple of strawberries.
  7. (That's so funny to me because a muff on a cat is their chest area. Their ruff is their abdomen). :) But, thank you! I'd forgotten.
  8. Oh, sorry! I'm just trying to balance gaining weight but not gaining too much weight. I'll figure it out. This is just new for me. Sorry to complain about something I should just get through my head.
  9. Saw this today. Haven't yet seen the first one. I really enjoyed it. I agree about some of the jokes being insensitive...I also noticed two groups of obese women in the theater. I turned red at the beginning during the crotchgate or whatever it was called at one point. But, I do like that there's a range of what people look like in the movie.
  10. Yes, that's what my doctor said, too. I'm two pounds less today, so I do think I was bloated some. Just trying to still cut out extra sugar and foods without any vitamins, etc. I'm going to keep an eye on this. Don't want to go too far in either direction weight-wise.
  11. Thanks :)....yay! I'm happy. Weighed myself today, and it's two pounds down. Hoping some of it really was bloat. Phew. Now still sticking to only eating nutritious foods for a while.
  12. I'd forgotten this but one time I was at a hockey game. My dad was playing, and we'd been in an argument. So, I was sitting upstairs reading in a carpeted floor area. These two guys walk by and say something. I don't notice so one repeats himself. I just sort of answer quickly and without interest. The other one goes, "come on, man. Clearly she's not interesting, she's sitting at a hockey game reading a book." Excuse me. I'm about in tears anyway. I'd been there 3x per week for the past three months. I got up and just went to the car and cried. Yeah, when did reading become soooooooo boring? Sure, it would stick out if you're at a rock concert telling people to hush because you can't focus on a novel. Other than that, give me a break! I've also read advice that if you're overweight and eating the things your kids eat every time your kids eat, it might be good to set up a separate schedule. Kids often need loads more calories because they're growing and running around. A sedentary adult often doesn't compare. (Though certainly some adults may just need that many calories or be very active)!!
  13. Oh, no! Sorry if I'm coming off rude. I appreciate any and all advice or tips. I just wanted to respond about what I'd been thinking or what I'd done. I google or ask my doctor or my dad about every tiny question that pops into my head. I definitely don't think I'm an expert though! Not at all. I knew going in I was a worrier, but I never thought I'd be as scared about this baby as I am. (I've also looked into water aerobics but not seeing anything appropriate nearby). I understand not wanting certain things to go past the nuclear family. I think the way that desire is expressed is extremely important, too. I just don't like people arguing at all. My mother gets extremely high and mighty. She also tends to tell my business to "family friends." Well, they aren't my friends, and I do get upset reading something about myself in a letter I never gave her permission to talk about. As much as I ask her to keep in confidence about specific things, it is a rarity to find she has. I try to tell myself it's no big deal in the long run. It's the disrespect I can't always snap my fingers and get over. Also hope that doesn't come off as rude. Just sharing my experience. I've no idea if this is a similar situation!
  14. Trying to slow down on weight gain. Ate stir fried vegetables and later some almonds. I'm. So. Hungry. :(
  15. No, she hasn't. I wear hospital gloves, and the cat is indoors strictly. I figure I'm practicing good hygiene, and he's so old, I've probably already gotten toxoplasmosis if he has it. I'm going to prenatal yoga most weeks. I'm not upset about my weight just didn't feel too great to see a gain of 5lbs in 2 weeks. I can't keep that up. Hoping some of it is fluid but will back down on sugary cookies and pizza. The rest of what I eat isn't too bad, and I have been much more active than first trimester. Had a dream last night that my cyst grew to watermelon size. Ha, not quite, but that doesn't help. It was grapefruit sized 2 weeks ago and can't do too much actual exercise.
  16. What were the teacher's thoughts about pronouncing Wednesday? My knees would look fat if I posed like that. I have small joints so fatty bits around my knees and elbows. :0
  17. Aww. I love seeing the world of cats or dogs.
  18. Found out today I'm going to have to have a c-section because of my large cyst. Depending on the type of cyst, one of my ovaries might need to be removed, but if so, it hasn't been functioning anyway. So, new due date is a week earlier. I'll schedule the exact date and time later on at another appointment. Next appointment will be the glucose test to see if I have a blood sugar issue. I gained a lot of weight the past two weeks. The doctor said it was fine since I started underweight. The appointment was overwhelming, but I feel better now. At least I can think of the positives about not having to go through labor. I was scared because you never know how that will go. Still scary negatives, but I'll have time to accept the facts.
  19. Off topic but about current bug situation: I just read ticks are coming earlier the year bc of the weather. Article says to check yourself and pets.
  20. All the men in my life who've stuck have loved Lonesome Dove and Les Mis.
  21. When I was little, I wanted to be Harriet the Spy. I liked the book, but I was in love with Michelle Tratchenberg's character's style and the way she spoke. [As I've grown up, I'm very much like Harriet (but sadly not as adorable). I mean it more as what happens to her, her personality, and her relationships]. Anyway, she makes really big fat periods in her notebook. I admired it. If I hold pencils or crayons, they generally snap in two unless I'm very gentle. And...then no one can see my periods. And, right now I'm watching it again on Netflix.
  22. I love the name Clara. It won't work with my baby to be's last name, and it rhymes with my name, but I do love it. I also like Claire. I'm not into trendy names either. I've looked at traditional names that are somewhat uncommonly used now. The boy first name I've picked is ancient (Biblical eponym).
  23. I read TX is now out of extreme drought conditions. Yay. I've noticed a few bugs in my place this past week. They've all been different types. Normally, I don't have any, so I think it's the weather, too. DeLurker, do you get lizards in your home? When I lived in a house, we'd always have them. It was sort of sad to see dead ones in a spare room - dehydrated to death I guess. :( Much better surprise than a scorpion.
  24. Harsh dressing room lighting. Do my legs look that horrendous? Oh well :)
