The Salvos are anti gay rights, and give money to anti-LGBTQI groups, so I can't support them. Charity Watch rates charities and can help find a good one. https://www.charitywatch.org/home

I hope every Duggar girl that has kids has all boys, so they have no little girls to force into servitude. - They'll only have the current sisters to help them until they're old enough to marry off, then they'd be left raising their herd of boys all on their own.

The thing is though, I don't think 'selfie' culture is that different from other generations. We only notice them doing it, because there's more mediums to be noticed. My sister (now 44) had a Polaroid camera when she was younger as did a lot of her friends, and the only thing that limited the number of photos they took of themselves, each other and their possessions was the cost of film. A couple of my aunts have boxes and albums filled with selfie style photos, taken with older cameras. And of course, way back in the day, people would pose for hours to have flattering portraits of themselves taken. We just see more of it now because everyone has a camera in their phone and it's easier to make yourself seen.

I see that Derrick still hasn't managed to grift more than $125.

I don't have a problem with Jeremy (or anyone) bragging about helping, solely because it's been proven that people are more likely to help those in need if they see/hear about other people doing it. So even if Jeremy is helping 'for the wrong reasons' and bragging for attention, if it encourages some of the people following to do the same, that is a good thing, regardless of his reasons. Doing good deeds in secret doesn't spur others to follow as much as doing them out loud.

TBH I'm a little confused about people saying she's dressing like a middle schooler. I'm a 40 year old woman, and with the exception of skinny jeans (I have regular jeans), that's pretty much what I wear when I'm not at work or in my jammies. Only my shoes are Chucks.

I'm athiest, but I recognise everyone's right to believe what they wish, even when I don't understand how they can believe in stuff that I find unbelievable. have many friends of other religions, and we're friends even though they'be often said they don't understand how I don't believe.

Does standing fully on the pink side of the wall mean the new baby is a girl? Like, if it was going to be a boy, would she be turned sideways, so her belly is in the blue side of the picture? Am I overthinking the way this idiot family does things. Girl in cowboy boots whose name I can't remember, you're wearing proper shoes - make a run for it while you can. Hah, I didn't read the hashtags, or swipe left, before I posted. Boy.

Screen caps of a thing I saw on tumblr about how the King James Version of the bible apparently came into being. Made me laugh, considering Jim Bob's idea that King James himself wrote it.

Ahhh, Alert. The imaginary army training they do so they don't have to join the real army, with the godless heathens, and the actual danger. Although I don't see how Derelict could possibly join Alert, what with his weird, not-yet-diagnosed medical condition. And does that make him even more of a Fundie failure I wonder? Missionary stuff didn't work out... relying on his father-in-law for a house, and now probably an income...he can advertise Alert, but he most likely couldn't pass the physical...

I think the part that says 'high energy and hardworking' disqualifies them.

A chick at my work just became a grandmother for the second time, and her daughter had no idea. Apparently the first pregnancy was normal, but this second one, she got her period the whole way through, and just thought her small weight gain was from being tired and lazy. So odd. I'm still hoping Jinger isn't pregnant - unless she really wants to be.

A friend of mine who works at a free women's clinic hates that "I can't get pregnant while breastfeeding" has become such a widespread belief. She says that while it works for some women, most women who don't get pregnant while breastfeeding wouldn't have regardless, based on their own body's post pregnancy recovery cycle, and that with the majority of women she sees who do come to the clinic, pregnant again while the current baby is just a few months old, one of the first things she hears from them is "but I thought I couldn't get pregnant if I was breastfeeding."

I asked them about it through their contact us page. I'll you know if I get a response.

I remember that being a look in the late 80s - early 90s. So, not surprised it's coming back now. I read somewhere recently that fashion trends tend to go on a 30 year cycle. (I'm holding out for 100 year cycle, and hoping as soon as we hit the 2020s we all start dressing in flapper dresses and dapper suits.)
