  1. Thanks @Spunkygal! I have a serious cheese brain and tend to forget about the contestants as soon as the season is over. But if I see their photo, I remember. The only one I remember from last season is Matthew. ❤️ Yes, I don't dare google cuz I hate being spoiled!!! I'm glad Marcus keeps his eyes on some of these talents, they deserve a come up from the amazing work they've displayed on the show. If you do sample some food, we want to hear all about it!!!
  2. While his food was incredible, I don't really get why the guest chef decided he didn't want to use any salt in his dishes. I mean, I would have gotten it, if he said he just wanted to use herbs and spices, but then he used other things like miso and soy sauce to add saltiness. And he put all the meat in a salt chamber. So it just seemed kind of arbitrary to ban salt! (Spoken as a true salt fiend!)
  3. WOW! Not all of the plates were totally successful Tuesday night, but my God that was some pretty food! So many gorgeous, interesting dishes. Olivia's DID look like fairies made it. I would hang it on my wall! Marcus is getting rightly tougher is his critiques now, but his calm, straighforward delivery keeps it supportive. Still, the pained looks on the chefs faces when they don't please him is heartbreaking. I do believe it is good for them and their future though. On the flip side, when Marcus praises a dish, and the chefs get teary, that gets me every damn time! I'm glad they show us the dishes while the judges talk about them, and also show little clips of the chef's previous dishes. That is so helpful in keeping everyone's accomplishments straight. @PepperMonkey, Gordon would try to turn it into some Hells Kitchen bullshit. I've seen forums debating which is the best Masterchef worldwide, and it seems Americans find the low key, drama free nature of this show and its contestants boring, but I find it thrilling! (Don't worry, I set them straight!)
  4. I enjoyed the hell out of Mon/Tues episodes! Both for the good soap, and for the absence of the dreaded CarsonJam quad. I hope they are starting to realize what an albatros they are. Ava just makes everyone sparkle --Nina, Trina, even Griffin. Her changing expressions during their brief chat were awesome. Cameron almost matched her sparkle for sparkle, but then she called him a charming young man and won the sparkle off. PS. Cameron was wearing more eyeshadow than Liz! ...it was perfectly blended though!
  5. What book tour makes stops in airport gift shops? I thought Dom was PTSD hallucinating! Also a bit surprised when the ending became a Jerry Maguire/Friends airport moment.
  6. Sarah's voice is like a cross between Gladys Kravitz from Bewitched and Kyle's mother from South Park. It almost seems like she purposely enhances the cartoon nature of it as part of her "character". This season is kind of a dud. The bakes are not gorgeous and enchanting like you want in your holiday baking shows. Also, having all the female contestants drool over Jesse is getting old.
  7. Free DJ Boof! Is he contractually required to bring her food, accompany her places, and stay in contact with her outside the show? She says he likes to watch her eat, cuz she digs in and slurps and is messy and shit. ...Yes, I'm sure he is totally enchanted. Last week she laughed on and on about someone in a story saying "worser." Wendy, I'm quite sure your grammar is much worser than that on a daily basis. Today she laughed and laughed about Prince Andrew and the sex trafficking scandal. She has a strange sense of humor. The 10 minute discussion about her not having proper access to a TV was unbearable @patty1h! It sounded like a lot of the places she was complaining about had streaming services and she just couldn't figure out how to work the remote. Jesus God.
  8. Stupid reruns! I think Chris probably did have some bi-polar/addiction/something going on, but didn't deserve to be murdered. He might also have been in on some shady dealings with Ed. Seems like the police could have figured that out, if it was true. Sounds like the church pastor's business was also getting and selling debt consolidation leads. ...the Lords work, y'all! Must be nice to be so wealthy that you can email your family, "hey I'm leaving for a month to travel the world" and their response is "oh okay, have fun!" like it happens every other month, which it kind of sounded like it did!
  9. Did not see the need for the show/producers to force the Kit Lender guy to bring up his long ago problem with alcohol. I know the show loves a "story" and the sharks all congratulated him on his 4 years of sobriety, but the dude was visibly swallowing and shaking trying to spit it out. It totally threw him off his rhythm in the pitch and he never fully recovered. It was unnecessary. Then he didn't even get a deal. I felt bad for him.
  10. I so adore this show. The new pop-up challenge is great, and so well executed. If it were Masterchef US they would have 20 minutes, only a bunsen burner, and Gordon shouting at them through a blowhorn! Can't wait to see the second group do the pop-up!
  11. Show, if you think you can use Ava to make me warm to nu-Nina ... ...you are pretty smart. I've never liked the re-cast, but I was okay with her today, and the story would be fun. And I can't see MS doing that story, if for nothing else we would have to listen to her pronouce Zzzhhhherome too much. Well played.
  12. Ummm, can we talk about that "vote for who you want to U-turn" at final four, which was a single U-turn. What. The. Fuck. That is basically like asking the final four teams to just vote someone out. Gee, I wonder who it will be?!?! I know the US is dabbling with this too, but not at final 4, not a blind vote, and I don't even think it was an elimination leg, just a tactic to stir up drama. I think it was also a double U-turn to at least give U-turned teams a chance. I'm never a big fan of one team dominating the race, but the boys were totally screwed. I guess future teams who are really strong will have to start throwing legs of the race to avoid being voted out. U-turns are supposed to reward you for getting there FIRST. Ugh.
  13. I also thought Marcus might get a job in fashion for the daughter, but since he is investing this business, and she is very capable, he probably wants her there. This was a decent episode except for the staged "fight" between the co-packer lady and momma about how dare you call that a macaron! Gotta have that drama. I am feeling generous so I will say one nice thing about Marcus: He is no longer wearing those fucking broken heart sweaters! Hurrah!
  14. Jason has gone to see the Rockettes on what fucking planet? And how old is Scout that she would even appreciate that? Soooo, Finn knows Hayden is in danger yet is able to go back to smiles, wishbones, and seriously bad pattycakes like nothing happened.
  15. I'm glad they put Janet out of her misery cuz she was just not up to par. ...okay plus it also annoyed me how she forced a laugh after everything anyone said. I'm sure it's a nervous tick, but ugh. So far, this season is not blowing me away.
  16. Was that the entire cast? It didn't seem like enough.
  17. I was just waiting for White Rose to yell... KAAAAAAHHHHHNNNN!!!!
  18. One thing this case is a good example of is how unreliable the testimony of children can be. Not because they are deliberate liars, but because they are often frightened, manipulated, trying to please others, or otherwise psychologically distressed. On the stand and in her interview with Barbara Walters, Kimberly came off as very credible in her statements about her dad, stepmom, and her disinterest in the Twiggs. A month later she was wanting to be with them and pretty much recanted and reversed everything she had said.
  19. It's rerun. The little girl was indeed probably 8-10. They interviewed her older sister as well, who was 17-18 and the two girls look exactly alike. I also thought interviewing the little girl and some of the questions they were asking was too much.
  20. The barely stifled shit-eating grin on Marcus' face when the business owner turned to him toward the end of the episode and said, "I know your a profit ...but you're also a savior" pretty much sums up what this show is all about now.
  21. Wow, that Italian supplement is really working for Kendra if she is able to pick Alexis up and carry her to the car. So, just like that Julian is willing to kill Brad? Are they going back to we are supposed to hate him again? I find his tampering with the car preposterous. Just cuz Wiley left with Micheal, he can't know for sure that it will be Brad alone that drives it next. And even if it is, does he not care about innocent victims in other cars? I'm not buying it. I guess I will just throw him onto the pile of stupid this show is creating with Nik, Laura and Jax. Ugh.
  22. I was a bit judgy that Melissa began dating only months after the murder. She said something to the effect of, "if I didn't get back out there, I never would." Girl, I think you maybe got a bit more time, mmmkay? I think I would still be in shock, let alone through mourning. Still, it was very good of her to take in both girls. I wonder what happened between her and the older girl.
  23. Wow, what a great quarter final! Monica and Marcus were cracking me up. Especially the look on Monica's face and her little squeak of "hmmm" when she saw Steve's less than gorgeous dessert, and the barely contained digust of Marcus when Adam left his station a mess. Next week is gonna be a heartbreaker, y'all! I really adore so many of these chefs. And just once I would like to see someone crunching on one of those green apples in the Waiting Room of Doom!!
  24. I'm bummed, cuz Thomas would have been hilarious in the interview round. Pretty sure the interviewers would have made mince meat out of him. He seems like a nice guy but he just if people constantly have to "manage" you, you are not going to be right for Lord Sugar. Lottie is another one, no way is Lord Sugar putting up with her incessant chatter. I don't know how Dean did not strangle her during the remixing.
