  1. I was thinking the same thing, highway61! FWIW, I thought that Sara looked good. It was odd not to even mention Sheldon's Mom. I would've loved to have seen her or even heard her voice on the phone. I was a little disappointed that they didn't do more with Adam West too. The car ride with the guys was funny, but once he was at the apartment, it just kind of fizzled out, IMO. I wanted Sheldon to show more excitement that he was there. All in all I liked the episode, but the tributes to Sheldon by the other characters went on too long. Stephen Hawking's cameo was icing on the cake though. "I was crushing it!"
  2. I'm glad they didn't write it that way. Maybe this comes from the time the group was playing that game and they embarrassed Amy & Sheldon by trying to force them to be somewhat intimate in front of the group. I'm glad they didn't get juvenile about it with Sheldon. Having said that, I don't mind a little but of that razzing between Howard, Raj & Leonard! I was disappointed in how they wrote MeeMaw's character. I really didn't like that she was so mean to Amy. I don't think that was necessary. There were so many different ways to make MeeMaw's visit great, but that was a let down, IMO. I know they can't please all of the viewers, but it looks like the general consensus isn't good.
  3. I think it was because Dr. Gallo had never met Leonard's Mom and she was able to determine what an awful person she was just from reading her books. I'm sure the validation from a professional was very cathartic for Leonard. You can count on friends to side with you on these types of issues, but to have a professional understand it gives Leonard's feelings and experiences of his childhood more credence, IMO. Chiming in with others who love the relationship between Sheldon & Penny! Although Penny isn't "book smart" enough for Sheldon, I do like how he goes to her for advice on personal matters, and how he confides in her. He didn't even want her in their lives in the beginning, and now I don't think he could function as well without her! I like how Penny can and will put Sheldon in his place when he's condescending to her. As Penny once said to Sheldon, "Sheldon, you big wierdo, I love that you're in my life." Sheldon: "I love you too!"
  4. Thanks for the correction! I was thinking boxer-brief, but left out the 'boxer' in my post!
  5. I didn't think much about it. They needed a set-up in which Sheldon would be alone for the weekend, so this was how they did it. I liked seeing Amy attending a conference without having Sheldon tag along. Although she wished he was there, she was fully capable of traveling and doing her own thing without him. It was nice seeing how happy they were when talking to each other via Skype. That was classic Howard dropping his drawers the second Stuart pulled out of the driveway! Looks like Howard went from silk boxers to briefs. Personally, I hate seeing men in boxers, so the briefs were a nice change. YMMV.
  6. I really liked this episode. It was lighthearted and fun, with the small exception of Stuart being creepy! I'm not sure where the writers are going with him. It was nice to see Raj in his element at work. We don't get to see too much of that. I'd love to see more of Leonard going to therapy. We all know that Beverly was an asshole of a Mom to him, so seeing him talk to a professional who agrees with him was funny. I loved Sheldon and Amy's exchange of "what makes a best Best Buy...." Sometimes it's just the little things on this show that crack me up.
  7. Speaking of that, I was 16 when Star Wars first came out, and whether you were a Sci-Fi fan or not, this was a must see movie! It was the biggest thing (graphics-wise) most of us had ever seen. We were oohing and ahing when the text first appeared and started scrolling backwards! That was huge! My hubby and I have been fans of it ever since. We even took our son to see the re-release of the original movies in the theater many years later. Sure, he had seen them over and over again at home, but we wanted him to have the theater experience that we had. I found it hilarious to have Raj, Howard & Leonard practically have an orgasm over the movie. For them, that was totally appropriate given their level of anticipation and excitement, IMO. Always love seeing Wil Wheaton on this show. I love that he's a little bit of a jerk.
  8. Amy doesn't particularly want to see Star Wars, especially on her birthday, and Sheldon understands that. I get that he planned on seeing the movie long before they got back together, but seeing as how the main problem between Sheldon & Amy was that he usually focused on what always worked for him, it finally dawned on him that he needed to make a sacrifice in order to prove to her that he truly loves her. IMO, the relationship is in a fragile state. Had he ditched her on her birthday, she'd probably have broken up with him and written him off. I'm glad that didn't happen. Amy wanted to spend her birthday with Sheldon, not a movie theater full of people. I thought the entire episode was handled well. I especially like that Sheldon went to Penny & Bernadette for advice, not the guys. I think Leonard would've been understanding, but once you involve Raj & Howard in that kind of discussion, it would've ended up in juvenile humor, IMO. I like how the writers handled a "first time" for Amy & Sheldon with love and respect, as well it should be. YMMV.
  9. For Sheldon to have said that he liked it more than he thought he would, and he was smiling, well, that's like an A+ on a report for Sheldon! I think any other reaction beyond that would've been over the top and not believable from him. Besides the book that Penny & Leonard gave him about sex years ago, and the fact that he's heard them (and seen them, going from the episode where we learn he had a hidden camera in the living room) having sex, he's had a pretty good idea of the "mechanics" of it for some time! YeeHaw anybody? (Penny/Leonard reference.) I always felt that Sheldon would do just fine in this department! ;) He's usually great at everything he does, so why not sex? I'm reminded of the saying "those who can, do; those who can't, talk about it." I loved the entire episode. Well done show!
  10. Penny & Leonard agreed to spend several nights a week in his apartment, and several nights in hers. They did it to make the transition a little easier on Sheldon. Raj & Howard's reaction to their fan picking his nose was hilarious! They probably had fun taping that scene. Yay for Amy & Sheldon being back together!
  11. To be fair, I've heard non-southerners pronounce 'drowned' that way. Everybody I know here in the South pronounces it correctly! Other words, not so much! ;) It bothered me that the camera person was right there in her face watching her gulp water. One big swallow of it and she would've really been in big trouble. At what point on this show does the camera person put down the damn camera and take action? He/she appeared to be closer to Tasha than the safety guys.
  12. As I recall, they told her several times to keep her shoulders up. Then there was the dance that she didn't quite have the seductress attitude needed. I believe she was able to correct the issue with her shoulders though. I thought the season finale was one of the better ones. Although I was rooting for Bindi, there were several others that I cheered for during the season. I've had seasons where nobody interested me, but this time, it was nice to see more of them doing well. I could do with less of the tearjerker moments though. What is the tour they were talking about, and how many of the current celebs get to participate?
  13. I really enjoyed seeing her & Derek together and seeing how her positive outlook influenced those around her. She truly has a gift for lifting people up. She said this show changed her life, so hopefully with everything she learned the past few months, she will to continue to heal since losing her Dad. I really like Derek and think that he's genuinely a nice person. He always seemed concerned about making Bindi look good. As I recall, the judges really liked Kelli Pickler & Derek; and they really liked Donny Osmond & Kym; and Donald Driver & Peta got a lot of attention, and the list goes on. We seem to have this same conversation every season! ;) The judges fawn over a lot of the performances in each show. I thought they were equal opportunity fawners! I've seen them fall all over themselves with stars who really weren't that good, but they didn't want to hurt their feelings. Bindi started the season strong and continued to build on that. Sometimes that can backfire and somebody else takes the lead. That really never happened this time. She had no dance experience, but worked hard and stayed consistent the entire season. She did have an issue with keeping her shoulders straight - which they called her out on, but she worked on it and seemed to get it corrected. I'm happy that she won. Well deserved, IMO!
  14. Yay for Bindi! I had forgotten that they would dance again last night. It was nice to see them end the season on a high note. She's been so consistent the whole season. Winning the Mirror Ball trophy was well-deserved, IMO.
  15. She has also mentioned how she internalizes everything, so I can understand why all of her emotions came pouring out after Derek had that huge picture of her and her Dad put up last night. I think he overplayed his hand on that one. I didn't think that was necessary or fair to Bindi since she was blindsided by it. As I said in the other thread, it looked like it really rattled her. I've loved watching Bindi & Derek this season, and have a lot of respect for her cheery attitude, but I was hoping that she & Derek would end this on an upbeat note instead of such a somber one since we've already seen so many tributes to her Dad. (No disrespect intended.)
  16. That was one of the better finales, IMO. I didn't love all of the dances, but for the most part it was entertaining. I felt bad for Bindi that Derek had that huge picture of her Dad put up at the end. She wasn't expecting it, and I think it really rattled her. The song and the dance were emotional enough for her. I didn't think the additional reminder of Steve was necessary. Her dance was beautiful. I've enjoyed watching her this season.
  17. So, their bathing suit parts are finally going to smush together! I'm on board, as long as it's done tastefully, which it looks like it is.
  18. What I like about Derek and many of the other professionals is their desire to make their partner look good. I respect them for doing that. It's got to be really tough to take people with little to no dancing skills and turn them into dancers in a short period of time, especially given some of the attitudes we've seen in the past with a few of the stars. I really like Bindi and admire her positive attitude on life in general. I don't think her Mom is a "Mommy Dearest". I've never seen that kind of attitude in all of the footage I've seen of Terri, Bindi and Steve. I could be wrong, but I haven't seen it. I don't know of the problems at the zoo, but my SIL was there last year, and by all appearances, things seemed good. Of course we don't know what goes on behind the scenes. Anyway, Bindi is getting better every week, and that waltz was simply beautiful.
  19. I really liked this episode. That was so typical of Sheldon to turn the young lady away based on her being late, and her hating the seminar. Both storylines were really good, IMO.
  20. It's Sheldon. He takes things to the extreme!
  21. I found it quite poignant that Sheldon realized he probably wasted all those years trying to emulate a character from a Sci-Fi show. I liked Leonard's suggestion to him that he start focusing his energy on the real people around him. I liked how Penny pointed out to him that he does have feelings. He is human after all!
  22. Didn't she also say that she had to help with her siblings and that she didn't enjoy wiping their snotty noses? Howard told Raj & Leonard at that time that the issue was a deal breaker for him. Bernadette offered the solution of him staying home with the kids so she could enjoy working. Howard knew what he was getting into before he married her. At least he hasn't been pressuring her about it, seeing as how it wasn't mentioned until her Dad brought it up. Her parents need to back off of the issue. I hate when parents pressure their kids to give them grandchildren.
  23. To be fair, then Trevor would need to show a few clips of Pres. Obama whining and complaining about Fox News over the past 7 years. Pot meet kettle on that one.
  24. I'm trying to catch up on here, so forgive me if I missed any discussion on it, but has anyone figured out which taco dish Tamra was referring to when she said that the reason she can't say 'pastor' is because it sounds like something she orders at the Mexican restaurant? It struck me as funny.
